The images showed me—my wolf form—locked in passionate embraces with warriors from rival packs. Each frame was a grotesque violation, twisting the sacred bonds of our pack into something filthy.
"Look at our Alpha," a voice snarled through the crowd. "Spreading her legs for our enemies, defiling everything we stand for! What did we expect? A leader raised without true Alpha blood is just a whore in wolf's fur."
Murmurs of agreement rippled through the gathered wolves.
"No wonder the pack's been weak under her rule. She didn't earn her place—she fucked her way to the top."
"That explains how she kept control after her father's death. Not strength. Not loyalty. Just spreading her legs for any wolf who'd back her."
A growl tore from my throat. "Those aren't me—" But my words drowned beneath the rising accusations.
"And let's not forget how she got into Lunar University," another voice jeered. "Did she really think we wouldn't find out? The directors must've had their fun with her too."
Alpha Dimitri smirked. "Correction—it's not a rumor. It's fact. Look at her. Drenched, half-dressed, begging for attention. What kind of Alpha parades around like a common slut at her own banquet?"
The wolves who'd always resented me seized the moment, hurling accusations like knives. Some claimed I'd tried seducing them tonight. Others swore they'd seen me sneaking off with rivals for years.
"The Alpha's bloodline is rotten! Her parents let her run wild, and now she's nothing but a pack disgrace—a bitch who opens her legs for power!"
I'd heard this before. Twice.
In my first life, at my naming ceremony, Dylan—my betrothed—had publicly humiliated me, choosing Amy instead while her scent clung to him like a curse. The shame had killed my grandmother.
Then, at my death, Marcus—my husband—had howled his claim over Amy before my body even cooled.
The memories burned like phantom wounds.
I turned to my grandmother now, her breath ragged, her eyes bloodshot as she stared at the falsified images shimmering in the sacred pool.
"My Bella would never—" Her voice cracked, raw with fury and grief.
I gripped her shoulder. "They're lies, Grandmother. Someone's trying to destroy us."
But her pain only deepened. "Who would dare?"
Amy's voice cut through the chaos, smug as ever. "We all know the truth. Bella's always been reckless. Now everyone sees her for what she really is."
My grandmother trembled. "After everything we did for you—how could you betray her?"
Amy smirked. "Because I know her best. She'd fuck anyone for power."
The words struck like a blow. My grandmother's face crumpled, tears streaking her weathered cheeks. "Amy… how?"
I dropped to her side, my own rage eclipsed by her agony. "Don't listen to her. She's poisoning you with lies."
But the damage was done. My grandmother's breathing turned shallow, her pulse erratic. I begged the pack for help—only to be met with sneers and retreating steps.
Then, two figures broke through.
Dylan shifted, offering his back. Marcus helped me lift her onto him, and we ran—through the forest, the scent of pine and damp earth thick around us.
The elder healer, Elara, met us at the infirmary, her face grave. "Another hour, and her heart would've given out."
