But Henry did something that blindsided everyone.
While everyone else was scrambling and running for their lives, Henry didn't give a shit.
Eyes completely bloodshot, he walked straight toward those gun barrels, step by step.
"Don't you fucking stop me! Caroline's gonna die if you don't let me through!"
Lillian had been laser-focused on Henry's face—watching him start to doubt everything, start worrying about me.
She was already panicking inside.
Now watching Henry risk his life, she let out a piercing scream.
"Henry! Those are real guns! Get your ass back here!"
When Henry kept moving, Lillian's eyes went wild and she viciously pinched Liam.
The kid's wailing cut through the air—he was so confused and hurt.
"Mommy Lillian, what are you—?"
Lillian didn't give a damn about him, frantically yelling at Henry:
"Henry! Liam already lost his mom—he can't lose his dad too!"
The second those words left her mouth, everyone felt something was off.
Henry whipped around, face ghost-white, too scared to even ask the question.
Just felt this terror growing like a bottomless pit in his chest.
Kevin smashed the butt of his gun into Lillian's kneecap.
She dropped to the ground hard, tears streaming down her face.
But the pain in her knee was nothing compared to Kevin's next question:
"Thought you said Caroline was behind this whole thing? So why do you think Caroline's in danger?"
Henry couldn't take it anymore—he sprinted toward where I'd disappeared under the water.
But he crashed right into Charles hauling my limp body back to shore.
"Chopper! Right fucking now! Hospital—move your asses!"
When Henry saw my blue-white face and the blood between my legs, his brain just shut down.
He shoved the gun barrel away from his head and tried to climb into the chopper.
"The doctor said losing this baby could kill her! I'm the baby's father—let me go with her!"
But Kevin kicked him right back down, furious.
"Like hell you are! Not anymore!"
Charles spit in his face. "Don't sweat it, asshole! You'll be hearing from us real soon!"
The chopper lifted off, rotor wash pelting Henry with dirt and gravel.
This guy who never had a hair out of place didn't even flinch—all he could see was Caroline's death-pale face...
And suddenly he was back to that day—his little girl's body floating in the water.
