Three days later, Caelum finally signed the divorce papers in a rage.
But he asked me to walk away with nothing.
I laughed bitterly.
"On what grounds? You're the one who screwed up. You should be the one leaving with nothing."
Moria's chest was heaving with anger. She rolled up her sleeves and pointed right at my face.
"Have you lost your damn mind? You've got some nerve saying that crap!"
"Caelum was just painting! What the hell did he do wrong? Women like you are just greedy and disgusting. You're such a gold digger—bet you had this baby just to take our money. I should sue you for marriage fraud!"
Vicent was so mad his face turned purple.
"You little bitch! Did you forget how you got everything you have? Don't forget—I'm the one who gave you all this! You were nothing before!"
"Now got yourself a good life, found some asshole, and now you want to dump my son AND take him for everything he's money?"
"Maybe I should call the media over here and let them see what kind of bullshit this is!"
Betty suddenly spoke up from behind me.
"I think there's been a misunderstanding. Serapha's not like that!"
But I was done arguing with them.
"Either Caelum walks away with nothing, or we'll see you in court."
As I turned to leave, the nanny tried to get me to hold my daughter.
"Ms. Lysandra, she's still your daughter. How can you be so heartless? It's one thing to not pay child support, but how can you give them up completely?"
I didn't even reply her, just walked right past.
Caelum tried to guilt me by standing in the middle of the street holding our daughter.
Zephyra got frantic and shoved me.
"What are you just standing there for? Your husband and baby are in the middle of the road! Get over there before they get hit by a car!"
I smirked.
"If they get hit, that's not my business."
But then a drunk driver ran a red light and came barreling toward them.
The car slammed right into Caelum and our daughter.
Our baby was seriously hurt and rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery. They needed blood fast.
Caelum was desperate. He got down on his knees in front of everyone.
"Serapha, please, I'm begging you—save our daughter!"
But I didn't budge.
"Why would you need my blood? Ask your goddess statue—I'm sure she'd be happy to donate."
Caelum just froze.
Everyone started calling me heartless, saying I was a monster.
That I was a demon.
"At a time like this, you're still jealous of a damn statue? Women like you don't deserve a husband or kids!"
"Control freaks like her are basically demons."
Caelum's face was covered in tears. He stared at me with complete disappointment.
"Serapha, I finally see who you really are. Fine, let's get divorced. But don't come crawling back to me later!"
In the end, Zephyra donated the blood.
Someone caught my cold attitude on video and posted it online.
The whole internet went after me.
"Oh my God, how can such a heartless woman exist? She's supposed to be the mother! She's so cold, you'd think she was the stepmother or something."
"Marrying a woman like that would be a nightmare. Everyone needs to keep their eyes open when they're dating—don't get stuck with trash like this."
Betty looked worried. "Serapha, the whole internet is trashing you. Are you sure you don't want to explain?"
I shook my head, expressionless.
"There's nothing to explain. We'll settle this in court tomorrow."
I looked up coldly.
"Caelum's been playing me for way too long. I'm going to make him pay."
The next day, Caelum and his parents showed up early at the courthouse.
Zephyra was right behind them, impossible to miss.
She looked down at me smugly.
"Serapha, you're being such a drama queen and control freak. The judge isn't going to side with you."
"You should just admit you're wrong now. Maybe you'll still get like 1% of the assets."
I completely ignored them and sat down at the plaintiff's table without any expression.
After Caelum submitted his evidence, the judge turned to me.
"Ms. Lysandra, your husband painting a goddess sculpture in his studio—how is that grounds for anything?"
"Based on that alone, you can't demand he forfeit all assets."
Seeing their smug smiles, I stood up and said loudly.
"Of course that's not all."
I got to my feet and slowly looked around the room.
"Now I'm going to tell you all the real reason I want this divorce—"
