"I never did anything like that! You obviously faked this whole thing! You're so desperate to take me for everything in this divorce that you'd make up sick footage like this to frame me!"
When Caelum said that, everyone's face shifted again.
"You know what, he might be right—AI is insane these days. You can basically make any video you want."
"Can't believe Serapha would pull something this low. She's not just psycho, but she's using dirty tricks like this just to grab his cash."
Some people couldn't even keep it together in the courtroom.They stood up and started laying into me.
"Serapha, you're absolutely sick! You've got a new baby—she's barely three months old—and you're already trying to divorce her dad! That poor kid's!"
"I bet Serapha just let herself go after the baby. Everyone knows what happens to women's bodies after childbirth—all that loose skin, that messed up stomach. What guy would want to deal with that?"
"Yeah, what Caelum did is pretty out there, but you can kind of get it. Serapha's just blowing this way out of proportion."
They were getting all fired up, practically spitting while they talked.
I just calmly wiped my face.
The judge was nodding like he was thinking it over.
"Ms. Lysandra, what's your response to this?"
"One video doesn't prove Mr. Thorne actually cheated on you."
"And it's just a statue anyway. That doesn't really prove much."
I'd been expecting them to say exactly that.
I smiled and waved for them to keep going.
"Trust me, I've got plenty of evidence. But let's finish watching this first."
I wouldn't have walked into this courtroom so confident if I hadn't done my homework.
Seeing how sure I looked, the judge unpaused the video.
Caelum stepped out of frame to grab something.
And then that statue that had been standing perfectly still in his studio... started moving around.
Everyone's jaws just dropped.
"Wait, what? Am I losing it? Did that thing just move?"
"You're not crazy—I saw it too!"
"And that statue... it looks way too real. Like some kind of life-size doll or something."
But the talking died down pretty quick.
Everyone was staring at the screen.
By the time we got to the end of the video, people's faces had totally changed. Some were trying not to laugh, others looked grossed out.
"This is absolutely insane!"
"So that 'goddess statue' was just someone covered in gray paint?"
"From a distance it totally looked like some kind of bronze sculpture, but it was just a real person painted up!"
"No wonder Caelum was locked up in that studio almost every day of the month—this is what he was up to!"
After their little performance was over, the 'goddess statue' walked into the bathroom.
When she came back out, all that bronze paint was gone.
The second everyone saw her real face, they all whipped around to stare at Caelum and his childhood sweetheart Zephyra.
"Well damn, no wonder Serapha went nuclear and wants him to walk away with nothing."
"The cheating assholes are sitting right here in the court!"
"Painting someone up to look like a statue—what kind of sick freak thinks of that? Who the hell could put up with this?"
"Hold up, she looks super familiar..."
