Pregnancy had reshaped my body in ways I never expected, and not for the better—at least according to my husband. That's when my best friend Vanessa made her unexpected suggestion: "You need to meet Daniel. His prenatal massage works miracles... for all kinds of tension." She winked, leaving no doubt what kind of "tension" she meant.
The hormones raging through me had turned my libido into something unrecognizable—wild, insatiable. Yet the one person who should've been thrilled by this development seemed determined to sleep through my entire pregnancy.
"Michael... really? Lights out already?" I traced slow circles on his chest, the way that used to make him growl "minx" before pinning me down. Now? Only snores answered me.
Frustrated, I slipped into the bathroom. After taking matters into my own hands—again—I caught my reflection. When had my waist disappeared? My thighs thickened? The memory of Michael's "joke" echoed: "Babe, you're eating for two—looks like you swallowed the other twin too."
His laughter had sounded forced even then.
Vanessa found me the next morning, a mascara-streaked mess on her doorstep. She took one look and ordered her masseur out—some gorgeous guy named Daniel who moved like liquid.
"Men are trash," she declared, handing me tissues. "But this?" She gestured to her own still-perfect postpartum curves. "This is Daniel's work."
I hesitated. The way that man's hands had moved... was that really just massage therapy?
