Natasha's pov:
Flynn and I signalled how he was going to spend his break with his new friend whilst I was going to spend mine with Harper.
Just my cup of tea.
Harper leads me out of the class room and walks me around the compounds. I check my wrist after around a good few minutes because I was suspicious of time. My watch stated 11:10. We've already spent 20 minutes when break was only meant to be 15. "I'm gonna be late for business." I complain as he drags me through the football fields. "Too bad Ms.Perfect, you're stuck with me." I roll my eyes at his cheesy response. "Although, it's a good thing you're the new girl." He assures.
"What do you mean by that Mr.Mysterious?" I ask inquisitively.
"Since you're new, you can just tell them that you got lost or something." He answers with a subtle but noticeable wink. I hit him playfully on the shoulder. "You don't like school that much do you?" I ask him while we walk past the basketball court. He replies honestly with his hands in his pockets "I didn't, but things have changed."
"Oh really? Like what?" I urge slyly. "Doesn't matter Ms.Perfect." He smiles to himself. I look at him weirdly before continuing the tour. He shows me things like the huge library, to the massive Olympic sized swimming pool. This school truly was gigantic and I ain't complaining.
It was magical, almost too good to be true.
I check my wrist which states 11:25am. Although I know that Vincent wouldn't approve of me skipping class, I don't really give two flying fucks about what he thinks. Even though the academic validation urge is there, I ignore it. We find our way back onto the football fields and surprisingly, we find a spare football.
Ooh, this was going to be fun.
Harper jogs straight towards the football to retrieve it. I saw all his lean muscles in action. His thick arms swerve in a repetitive motions whilst his 6'1ft frame towers over mine. We take turns kicking the ball into the goal. I cant lie, it was pretty fun. He even gets so mad when I make fun of him. He misses a goal and I take this as the perfect time to annoy him.
"Do you even know how to play football?" I ask him whilst rolling my eyes.
He childishly replies mocking me "Do you even know how to play football?" He's so immature it's hilarious. "Real mature of you." I laugh alongside him. If I'm being honest, he's not actually that bad to be around. He grins at my jokes and when his pearly whites are on display my heart does this odd thing.
It weirdly makes something in my stomach shift too, something I never felt before.
I dismiss the strange feeling and finish the tour with Harper. We wrap it up just before fourth period and we split up. My fourth class was geography and that went by in the blink of an eye whilst his was music. Thankfully, Flynn was in my class so we sat together. After the bell rang Flynn and I make our way down to the cafeteria. It was a massive area.
When I mean massive, I mean massive.
As soon as you enter through the double doors, to the left you'll spot the line for food, whilst on the right side are all the tables and chairs. I wasn't really that hungry and neither was Flynn so we just made our way towards a spare table in the middle. Flynn and I sit down and we chit chat about our first day.
School here was actually fun, with the right people of course.
Flynn was talking to be about the new friend he made, which his name was Cody when I spot a familiar person burst open the double doors. You guessed it, Mr.Mysterious, or otherwise known as Harper. It's strange how I still don't know his first name. He walks in with some other football players and walk towards another table. I talk to Flynn about my time with Harper and how funny he is.
Strangely, I see Flynn's eyes getting darker every time I mention Harper's name.
Xavier's pov:
I walk into the cafeteria with my friends from the varsity football team. We sit in our designated area in the right side of the cafeteria. Something feels off today though, I feel as if I'm missing something. Xander steps through the cafeteria and makes his way to join us. But that missing feeling is still lingering in my mind.
Then it hits me, Nat.
I remember that she joined the school today. I have so many questions bouncing around my head to ask her. How does she like the school? Has she met any new friends? Where is she now? and the one I've been dreading. Has she met Nico yet? I had to drill the fact that he's an asshole into her head at the start, or he might hurt her.
Not physically but mentally, he is a player.
He's almost as livid as Xander but I could swear that he has a different girl on his lap every day. I watch as the cheer squad pull up into the cafeteria. I spot the blonde co-captain Chelsea and she makes her way over to our table. Her along with the brunette Vanessa and the other blonde Kira, squish their way into our table.
The usual.
Vanessa sits on Xander's lap whilst Chelsea makes her way onto mine. I've only been with Chelsea since September. She's a nice girl, but I didn't love her. After all this was just high school. My friend Dylan from football brought us our food and we started to eat our sandwiches and mingle.
It was all going normally until I realised that Nat didn't have a lunch tag.
How was she going to buy her food? I look over to her table to find her staring at the last person I wanted her eyes to see. Fucking Nico Harper. Of fucking course. The girl on my lap, Chelsea sees me staring at Nat and obviously doesn't know that she is my sister. "My eyes are here baby." She jealously warns.
"Oh yea." I mumble disconcertingly before going back to watch Nat stare at Nico.
It was as if on cue that Harper's head turns around to meet Nat's. He gave her a smile. A SMILE? WHAT THE FUCK. SHE SMILES BACK? Green was slowly yet surely clouding my vision and I can't manage to look away. Why is he smiling at my sister like that? Why did she smile back? What on earth is going on?
I was going to rip that bastard's head off his body for even thinking of my sister.
One of my mates, Cody, notices me staring and says out loud "Would ya look at that, bro's star struck for the new girl." Everyone in the table looks in the direction that I'm looking at. Chelsea's eyes are red. They're all looking at Nat and Flynn. "I don't blame him." I hear Dylan say in awe. "She looks like Adriana Lima but sexier." I hear my other friend Liam state.
What the fuck? They're simping over Nat? OVER MY SISTER?
My gaze switches to meet Xander. If I thought I was mad, Xander was raging. I could practically hear steam rising out of his ears. I knew he was feeling whatever I was feeling but worse. "It's too bad though. Looks like Harper already has his property marked." Cody sighs. Now I spot Nico's eyes on us, but specifically me.
Shit, he saw me looking at Nat and thinks that I like her. Now he's going to fucking retaliate because he's a fucking immature cow.
"Xavier." I hear Xander call my name. He sees what I'm seeing. I give him an 'I know' look. Dylan murmurs out loud "Oh shit." I turn my head to find that Nico has walked up to Nat's table and has sat down beside her and Flynn. "Fuck this shit." I hear Xander say and he pushes Vanessa off his lap and she shrieks.
When Xander's mad, he's mad. I wouldn't like to be on his bad side.
Xander marches over towards Nat's table and the cafeteria goes "Ooohhh." These fucking immature cunts. The last thing that I want is Nat to get involved with drama on her first day here, and here we are. I need to stop Xander before he lets his anger get the best of him and before he doesn't anything stupid. I tap Chelsea's thigh to tell her to get up and she does so reluctantly.
Could she not take any slower?
I hop out of my seat to go stop Xander and confront Nico. I do a little jog to get there the same time as Xander. Nico notices us first and welcomes us in a sarcastic tone "Gentlemen, for what do I owe this pleasure?" Xander and I ignore his childish motives. "Why are you here." Xander grits out through his clenched teeth.
Nico retaliates immaturely "I could ask you the same question." Nat rolls her eyes and smiles at Nico. "Cut the bullshit" I finally interrupt. "Ms.Perfect do you even know these fine specimens?" Nico directs his question towards Nat. What the fuck. He even has a nickname for her?
In that moment, all I wanted was to whip out my glock and shoot him in his balls.
Nat looks at me then looks to Xander and I could see the colour drained from his face. "No, I don't. I don't know these people." Nat replies to Nico. Oh, My, Lord. This is all fucking Xander's fault. Why did he have to tell her that she isn't a Morales? At this point, the whole cafeteria is dead quiet. How convenient. I think that there's no way I could get Nico to leave without getting violent until Xander finally speaks up.
"She's lying. She's my sister. She's our sister." He announces.
Everyone breaks out into whispers among themselves. Fuck. Why did this have to become such a big deal when it never had to be. Nico's fists clench and unclench as he tries to control his anger. "Is that so?" Nico asks Nat. Nat looks at me, then Xander then back to me.
"Unfortunately they are." She replies coldly.
Unfortunately? UNFORTUNATELY? WHY DOES SHE HAVE TO BE ASHAMED TO BE OUR SIBLING? Xander is a literal pisstake. Nat invades our conversation "Now that we have that out of the way, you two wouldn't mind leaving us alone right?" Xander and I are fuming with anger and she has the nerve to tell us to leave her alone?
Xander and I walk away unwillingly after receiving a 'don't fuck with me' look from Nat.
I would ditch football practice later today to go see Nat and ask her how the fuck she met up with Nico but I'll be seeing him later today anyways. I cant miss an opportunity to punch the fuck out of him, now can I?
Natasha's pov:
I say my goodbyes to Flynn as he leaves in his range rover whilst I wait for Chase to pick me up from school. Not long after, Chase rolls infront of me and gestures me to hop in. I sit in shotgun and chuck my bag on the car floor. Chase starts up his car and is already on the highway home.
"How was your first day irmã bonita?" He asks me.
I smile at the cute nickname and tell him all about my day, but leaving out the Harper part. After seeing how the twins reacted, I didn't want Chase to do the same. Chase and I have a small conversation about school and our gym days. I was telling him about my French teacher last period and it turns out that he had her too! It's a small world. Before I know it, we have already pulled up to the house.
I'm not that used to calling it a 'home' yet.
I hop out of the car and thank Chase for the ride. I hurriedly go up the stairs and turn into my bedroom. I leave my bag on the floor and take off my shoes. I strip my clothes and take a brisk cold shower. I get out and put on comfortable clothes. AKA Nike Pros and one of Adrien's oversized hoodies.
They are so comfy and soft I melt into the texture every time I wear one of his hoodies.
I complete my homework and go downstairs to check up on Vincent. He told me to visit him after my first day to make sure everything is a-ok. I find his office door and knock three times. "Come in." I hear his grumpy voice. I push open the heavy oak and he smiles when he spots me.
