Natasha's pov:
Everyone's eyes are on me and some are point whilst others try their best to avoid eye contact with me. I wasn't really that scary, was I? My eyes flicks towards the footballers again. Except this time, they were all staring at me blankly. Xander and Xavier's faces were mad and I mean mad. But I weirdly sensed a little pride coming out of them.
Were they proud of me?
I push that impossible thought to the side as I watch Flynn come up to me concerningly. He knew. He rushes his hand behind my back and we hurriedly make our way to the front entrance of the school without saying a single word to eachother. Flynn brings me outside the building but inside the school premises.
What have I just done?
We stop walking and we face one another. He gives me a meaningful hug and asks "Are you hurt?" I shake my head negatively but I bite my fingers. I need to stop doing that. "Show me where." Flynn demands. "What do you mean?" I ask confused. "Where did she scrape you, I saw the video. I know she did." He clarifies.
I roll up my sleeves and Flynn looks down to my scratched arms.
He rubs his thumb over the scratches and looks through his blazer pockets. He brings out a packet of bandages and gauze tape. "No bandages! I'm not a little kid anymore." I complain. "In my eyes you always are." Flynn confesses with a little smile whilst wrapping my arm in gauze after bandaging some bloody cuts.
"Why do you always got to get into a scrap?" Flynn lectures.
"She disrespected me! Plus, she was so jealous that I was talking to the twins that she threatened my social status." I gossip to Flynn. It felt like we were twelve again. He burst out laughing at my complaint which only makes me chuckle more. I mock that girl's bitchy, whiny voice "Hey! I want to be popular!"
Flynn slaps his knee and I could even see tears form in his eyes from my excellent impression.
Flynn and I stay laughing for a good few minutes before we spot people outside watching us. Can I not get a break in this school? I realise that I'm still wearing Nico's hoodie and that's why people have been following me. Flynn understands at the same time as I do and he says "We need to get to a bathroom."
"The bathroom why?" I question.
"There's no time to explain." He adds whilst his hand on my back. We scurry past everyone in the halls and we look for the nearest bathroom to us. We stop outside and Flynn sighs. I look up to see that it's the male bathrooms. "Shit." He murmurs. Since Flynn and I are new to the school, we don't know where any of the facilities are.
Nico did show me around but let's be real, I wasn't paying attention to that.
"It's fine." I assure him and we walk into the room. My nostrils are hit with the horrible smell of the boys toilets. Disgusting. I try my best not to gag as Flynn shouts "ALRIGHT! EVERYONE OUT NOW!" Most of the men in there look at us weirdly but not before recognising me from that stupid video.
How did everyone see it already?
Some of the men that were using the urinals just left without washing their hands. DISGUSTING. Flynn checks the cubicles but there aren't any available. He brings me towards a corner and I take off the hoodie. He holds my stuff whilst I change into my uniforms and looks away respectfully.
He's a man, not a boy.
He hands me my clothes one by one and in a few minutes I have my uniform fully on. I stand on my tippy toes to tap his back so he can turn around. "All good?" He asks me. "Yeah, all good." I answer. I remember that I found out about my biological family's secret yesterday and now I can tell Flynn.
"You got places to be?" I ask him whilst we walk out of the stinky bathroom.
"Nah, did you want to talk about something?" He questions as we walk back outside again. "It's actually about the Brazilian mafia." I manage to whisper so people don't overhear. Flynn's facial expression goes from 'fun bestfriend' to 'work mode' in a split second. I bring him to the same spot as earlier.
"Okay explain now." He eagerly anticipates.
"Alright, alright.." I begin and tell him everything since I came home including all the important documents that I found and the whole 'Nico Harper' situation. I even told him how I confronted Vincent at dinner and how he denied it too. I knew that he was shocked but he put up a strong front for my sake.
"So what's our plan from now on? Are we still going to attack the warehouse on Sunday?" Flynn wanted to know.
"We shall still go ahead with the raid on Sunday. I want to witness their live reaction." I finalise on the subject.
"I'll stand by your decision Princess." He assures. I flash him a wide smile as the bell rings for third class. I bid Flynn fairwell as I make my way towards my locker. I chuck the bloodied blue hoodie inside my bag and take out my science and french books from my locker. I slam my locker close and make my way towards the science classroom.
I actually have time to take a breather.
I greet the teacher and scan the room for a familiar face. Nobody. Not the twins, not Nico and not even Flynn. I only spot one cheerleader on the right. She was the same blonde girl from earlier. The one called Chelsea I think. I take a seat at one of the benches and the lesson commences.
I thought that it would be a normal lesson but hey, it's me we're talking about.
Class was almost over when the intercom interrupts my science teacher's voice. I hear a familiar voice from Monday. I recognise that voice! It's Sandra's, AKA the receptionist from my first day. "May Natasha Clark please make herself present to the Principal's office this instant!" As soon as she says that, all heads are turned in my direction.
Just my fucking luck.
Back in the UK, they didn't really care for any of the bitch scraps, I guess new country new rules. I sigh as I grab my backpack and walk out of the classroom with 20 pairs of eyes on me. Including the teachers. As I walk out, I flash her a sympathetic smile and shut the door close. I trace my steps back to the same room that I was in on Monday morning.
Sandra's office.
I gently push open the door and step inside the familiar room. I spot Sandra sitting behind her large monitor. "It's me again." I greet her awkwardly. "Natasha, I was expecting better from a pupil such as yourself." She remarks. I assume that she's talking about my impeccable grades.
"Sorry to disappoint." I sigh as I take a seat in the waiting room.
I didn't like disappointing people. Even if I don't know them that much, it still hurts. Why do I have to be like this? Why did I have to attack that Lucy chick? Why do I have to make such stupid decisions sometimes? All these questions bounce around my mind while I fidget with my fingers.
I was a nervous wreck.
Usually fights don't affect me this much. It usually lingers for around 30 minutes and the nerves disappear, but not with this one. This is my first bitch fight in Brazil and I felt weird during it. I did it because Lucy told me that I shouldn't speak to any of my biological brothers again.
Why did her words trigger me so much?
Do I really care that much about them?
My thoughts are held when I spot a familiar figure in the corridor. 6'6ft tall in a black suit. The one and only Vincent Morales. My legal guardian. So because I got called down to the Principal's office, he has to come too? I was going to be in a lot of trouble. Has Vincent forgotten about yesterday's dinner?
About what I said to him.
Hopefully we could talk about it later. "Princess what happened?" He asks me directly. "Go online." I mutter still looking down at my palms. I'm ashamed. He gives me a concerned look and takes out his phone. I assume that the video is plastered all over the internet by now.
It wouldn't take a genius to figure that out.
I watch his facial expression change from 'professional business man' to 'proud?' Huh. Why would he be proud. If anything I should just be another disappointment to him. "Did she hurt you?" He cautiously asks. I don't speak but I roll up my blazer to show him the gauze that Flynn wrapped my bleeding arm in.
"Only a few scratches. That's my girl." He says to me.
"You're not mad?" I ask in pure disbelief. "I am because you got called to the principal's office. But on the other hand, I'm proud of you. That uppercut was clean." He mentions in a soft tone. "Thank you." I whisper still in shock that he isn't mad at me. I hear Sandra call Vincent's name and mine. It's weird how they still address me as Ms.Clark instead of Ms.Morales, I'm not complaining though. Vincent's brows furrow when Sandra calls me Ms.Clark.
We hop out of our waiting chairs and make our way towards the Principal's office.
times passes
Vincent and I exit the Principal' office with smiles on our faces. Apparently the stupid girl Lucy, tried to charge me for damage but luckily Vincent stepped in. Vincent Morales knows everything about everyone, the one who has all the blackmail imaginable. He used it against Lucy's father and even the Principal for sleeping with his ex wife.
I gotta hand it to him.
"Thanks again." I repeat for what seems like the 100th time today. "Don't worry about it." He replies. "Although, I was planning to use that blackmail against him when Xander did something stupid." He laughs it off and I laugh with him. Vincent and I get to the front entrance of the school and he asks "Since I'm already here, do you want to miss the last two classes?"
My head has never nodded faster.
He smiles and leads me towards his blue Lamborghini. What was everyone's obsession with the colour blue around here? Especially cobalt. I hop into the passenger side and he drives off. I question Vincent "Should I text Chase to let him know that he doesn't need to wait for me?"
"You can tell him yourself." He replies warmly.
I smile at him. Then I remember our last conversation yesterday, well not conversation but a confession. When I admitted that I knew that he was the Brazilian Don. I just wanted to apologise for my childish behaviour yesterday. "About the whole mafia thing-" I begin.
He cuts me off instantly.
"Don't worry about it Princess." He interrupts me. "I'll give you the benefit of the doubt though, you are right." He lets out a final sigh. "I am?" I act shocked even though all the evidence lies in that meeting room. I think that Vincent still pictures me as a little kid, I'm not going to let his fantasies down.
"Yes Princess, you are. The title has been passed down generations and I am the current Don."
I nod my head for him to keep going.
He starts again "At first, I didn't want you to find out. It's a pretty gore-like world with guns and blood, but after what I witnessed on screen today, I think that you'll be able to handle the violence."
Little does he know..
"I'm glad that you think I'm mature enough." I appreciate gratefully.
"As much as I hate to say it, you're growing up Princess." He sadly admits in a defeated voice.
"Don't worry Vince, I'll always be your little Princess." I assure whilst patting my hand ontop of his for reassurance. I could swear that I saw a tear form in his eye but he briefly blinks it away. The rest of the car ride home was smooth sailing. I check my watch which reads 13:10, looks like I missed lunch.
And Xavier's lunch card.
Not long after, we arrive to the house.
I'm home early too!
I go to my room and take a brisk, cold shower. I put on another one of Adrien's white hoodies and a pair of Lululemon pink shorts. Cute fit! I slide on my Uggs and complete the homework I had for history. The homework in Brazil isn't as hard compared to the U.K "Nat! Oh Naaattt!" I hear Chase shout from the bottom of the stairs. In a rush, I hurriedly stand up to meet him but I feel dizzy.
Not normal dizzy, it's like blood-iron deficiency dizzy.
Everyone's eyes are on me and some are point whilst others try their best to avoid eye contact with me. I wasn't really that scary, was I? My eyes flicks towards the footballers again.
