Adrien's pov:
"C'mon Nat it's almost peak hour." Xander hurries Nat as she changes into her 8th bikini of the day. "It's not my fault that you guys are the ones making me change everything that I picked." She complains as she changes in the changing rooms. The twins, Chase and I are all helping her to find a bikini for the beach today.
It was a surprise for her, she deserved it after the week that she had.
"Darling the beach is going to get crowded if you don't fasten your pace." Chase tries to keep Nat on her toes. She draws back the changing curtain and steps out with her hands on her hip. "Better?" She arches her dark chocolate brows. She's wearing a black bikini that hugs her figure perfectly.
"Change." Xavier scoffs out. "You literally just said that we were in a rush." She folds her delicate arms. "There's no way in hell that I'm letting you out like that. Change." Xander demands. "Just wear the full torso swimsuit and we can get out of here." I try to reason with her. We were already late and this was just delaying the inevitable.
"Vincent said that I could wear whatever I want." She arched a brow.
"Well Vincent isn't here." Xander crosses his arms and shields Nat's body from the other visitors passing by. "No she's right. Vincent said that she could wear what she wanted." I stand up for my gorgeous girl. She flashes me a thoughtful smile. "Vincent doesn't know what she's wearing now does he?" Xavier points out.
"Oh my days, it's just a bikini for fucks sake." She rolls her aquatic eyes in frustration.
"Language." Chase and I warn at the same time. "Whatever. Just save the hassle and let me buy it. It's not even your money anyways." Her arms tighten against eachother. I let out a sigh of defeat and she squeals in happiness. "Thank you. Thank you. Thank youuu." She wraps her fragile arms around me.
"Anytime love." I reply with a smile plastered over my face.
I tap her shoulder and she returns back to the changing room to change back into her original clothes. We walk away to wait for her outside the store. "You always give in to her." Xander scoffs. "I can't help it." I smile at the thought of her happy face. "Exactly, now imagine all the guys that are going to stare at her figure." Xavier rolls his eyes annoyed at my decision.
"If those men don't know who we are, that's the bigger problem." I playfully pat his shoulder.
"I still don't want her going out like that." Xander frustratingly folds his arms. "Just let her be. After the week that she's had, all I want is for her to relax." I hear a ding near my trousers and I take out my phone from my denim pocket. It's probably just Vincent again. I swipe up to see a message from an anonymous caller.
Strange, I wonder what this could be now.
No-callerID: We know about her
Adrien: About who?
No-callerID: Ms.Morales or shall I say, Ms.Clark?
What the fuck. How does this imbecile know about her. Her surname is Morales, not Clark. How does he know about her old surname? He must be from the United Kingdom. I need to tell Vincent and especially Leo. He'll know how to locate the anonymous caller in a heartbeat.
What my mind can't comprehend is, how do they already know about her?
The mafia ball isn't till March so theoretically, no other mafia could've been notified of her return. Do they have spies? Are they following her? We need to change security measures pronto. Her safety is my number 1 priority compared to anything else. I can't believe they've found out already. It's too soon.
There has to be a spy lurking near, and when I find out who it is..
They won't make it out alive.
Adrien: Touch her, you die.
No-callerID: That's funny coming from you lot
Adrien: I will send a fucking missile to your shit hole of an island if you mention her name again
No-callerID: Oh please, you don't even know where I am
Adrien: It's not that difficult when you use words like shall and you lot. You British twat
No-callerID: Oh wow, shiver me timbers. I have to go now but, remember to stay in touch mate
Adrien: Not planning on it
No-callerID: Toodaloo ;)
I angrily shove the phone back into my pocket. "What's wrong Adri?" Tash pops out of nowhere with a shopping bag in her hand. "Nothing that concerns you Sunshine." I flash a warm smile at her. She arches a brow in concern but I dismiss the subject. Chase flicks me a concerned glance but I shake my head negatively.
I can't get the fact that she's in danger out of my head.
As we walk back through the car park I feel an eery sensation around us. As if we're being watched. Ever since I received that text message, I've been paranoid. I don't know who to trust. I just need to find Vincent and Leo, fast before any of this escalates further. That is the last thing that I want right now.
Today is meant to be a break for my Sunshine, and I'm going to deliver just that.
Honestly, the right thing to do is to cancel the trip for her safety but I know that this is what she needs. She deserves a beach day and I'm not going to deprive her of that. It was a promise after all. I set a mental reminder to bring up the British mafia with Vincent and Leo later.
The quicker it's sorted, the better.
Leo's pov:
"Ah theree they are." Vincent points towards Adrien's car parking in a nearby spot. "About time, they're 30 minutes late." I reinstate their delay. I flick a glance towards Vincent who has his hand over his brows which covers the sunlight from reaching his eyes. "You could've lost the whole suit-thing you know? It's a beach not a board meeting." I criticise his decision.
"You'll never see me out of a suit even if you try." He grins as Nat comes into his field of view.
"Worth a shot." I slap my knee as a joke. I watch as Nat, Xander, Xavier, Chase and Adrien make their way towards us on the white sand. "Took you long enough." Vincent crosses his arms. "Blame this one." Chase playfully nudges Nat. "Hey! It was them who made me change about a hundred times." She defaults the blame towards the twins.
"Care to explain yourselves?" I raise a brow.
"In our defense she kept on choosing scandalous bikinis." Xander retorts back. Vincent's and my gaze flicks towards Nat. "It's not that revealing." She tries to justify. "Show us now." Vincent demands. She slowly undresses and a VERY REVEALING bikini is on display.
Vincent's jaw clenched as my fists clenched at the sight in front of us.
"Princess there are boys here and they have undesirable thoughts.." Vincent begins but Nat interrupts him. "Oh please, spare me the boring overprotective parental speech. You said that I could wear whatever I wanted and I chose this. Are we really going to go down this road again?"
Woah, I underestimated how feisty she truly is.
"You do not get to use that tone with me young lady." He scolds but a sly smirk works its way onto Nat's face. The twins give each other a suspicious look. "Catch me if you can!" She squeals as she bolts down towards the ocean.
Natasha's pov:
As I sprint towards the enchanted water I hear footsteps trailing behind me. Scratch that, multiple footsteps behind me. I dismiss the possible stampede and focus my attention towards the horizon. The sun's beaming rays belt down on me and soon after my feet are met with cold water.
The hot weather mixed with the frosty ripples of water only boosts my enjoyment even further.
The chase gives me a high dosage of dopamine as I try to conquer the aquatic environment. I hear Xander shouting my name but I am briefly taken down by a heavy body. "Gotcha." Xavier tackles me down. I travel into deeper depths with the boys following my tail. My laugh can't contain itself. "Did you really think that you could escape us Irmã bonita?" Chase catches up to me.
He tickles my sides and I let a loud giggle out.
He smiles after hearing my chortle but my laughter comes to a halt after Xander body slams me into the water. The aquatic environment engulfs my vision as I'm being pushed underwater. I blink a few times to find Xander staring at me still, underwater. I push off of his head and reach for air. I watch as Xander's face goes from laughing at me to, scared of me all within the span of a second.
"You're on!" I warn and pounce on him.
His laugh mixed with mine forms the perfect harmony. In the distance I spot Vincent, Adrien and Leo and I gesture for them to join us but they look like they're having a serious conversation. Xavier notices my worried expression and splashes some water on my face to try cheer me up, trying to divert my attention. "I bet you can't catch me, pretty girl." He grins and starts to make his way back to the shore.
"Bet." I reply back with a smirk plastered all over my face.
I begin chasing him and feel the breeze against my bare flesh. Its cooling sensation feels heavenly with the sun shining down on me. I run as fast as my legs can take me with Xander and Chase by my side. We're all laughing and giggling together. "Go get em Tash." Xander's motivational words give me the needed boost to catch up to Xavier.
I tackle him to the ground and we crash straight into the warm white sand.
"I didn't think that you had it in ya." He groans at the pain of the fall with the corners of his mouth tilting ever so slightly. "Don't underestimate me." I playfully whack his chest. Xander then pulls me up and dusts off the sand that stuck to my skin. I thank him and we all make our way towards the others.
"What's going on here?" I place my fists on my hips.
Vincent, Adrien and Leo all turn to face me. "Boring stuff." Leo immediately shuts off the topic. That's weird coming from him, but I dismiss the subject shortly after. "It's almost lunch time, do you want me to grab you all icecream?" Adrien offers. My eyes open wide and a smile creeps onto my face.
"YES! YES! YESS!" I lean in to hug Adrien.
He hugs be back and leaves to go across the street to purchase all the scoops. "Come sit Princess." Vincent pats down a spot beside him on the beach mat. I sit down crossed legged and lean into his side. His arm wraps around my other shoulder and I snuggle into him as sand from my body transfers to his suit.
Although the weather is bright and sunny, Vincent posses a special type of warmth, a brotherly warmth.
"You enjoyin' Brazil Princess?" He asks whilst looking upon the horizon. "It's better than I imagined Vince." I respond back softly. It's true. At first, I was hesitant and negative towards the whole moving continents idea, but after staying here for almost 2 weeks, I'm starting to warm up to it again.
It's almost as if I never left.
"You know, we used to come here almost every week because you loved this beach so much." He recalls. "Life changed so much when I moved to the U.K. There's barely any beaches, and if there were any it was usually too chilly to go on them anyways. Here in Brazil, it feels like summer 24/7." I establish.
Vincent switches his gaze to face me.
"That's why you should stay here. I know that you miss England and your old life but this is where you belong. We are where you belong Princess." He says with hope flickering between his eyes. "I love it here too, I'm just still trying to adjust to everything." I peer over my shoulder and spot Adrien with 3 ice cream cones in each hand and one in his mouth.
"Took you long enough." Xander hungrily jogs over towards him.
"One dark forest for Vincent, hazelnut for me, pistachio for Chase, mint chocolate chip for Xavier, caramel for Xander and finally cookie dough for my Sunshine." Adrien hands out each individual cone. "You like mint choc chip?" I ask Xavier who already started to lick his ice cream.
"The best ice cream that money can buy." He muffled out in between licks.
"Princess you should start enjoying your sweet treat before it starts to melt." Vincent advises me. I place my tongue on the cold edible and lick upwards and I moan in satisfaction. "Is it good irmã bonita?" Chase laughs a little after watching me. I don't respond as I'm too busy enjoying the icy confectionery.
"She likes it so much that she can stop eating it." Leo points out with a wide grin.
"It's so good." I pop the rest of the cone into my mouth. "You want another one?" Adrien offers his hazelnut flavoured ice cream. "Nah it's okay, I'm full anyways." I decline his offer. "Does anyone have tissue? My hands are sticky." I arch a brow towards the crowd. "Here take this." Xavier throws me a handful of tissue paper.
"Thanks Xav!" I respond as I wipe my fingers clean.
"Anytime Tash." He takes one last lick of his ice cream before handing it to Xander to finish. "I'm gonna put this in the bin alright?" I stand up and spot a bin near the entrance. "Do you want me to come with?" Chase offers. "I'm alright, it's only a short walk anyways." I politely decline. Adrien flashes Vincent and Leo a weird look.
They look worried? It's probably nothing.
I walk over towards the bin with dirty tissue in my hand when I spot a group of guys making their way towards me. Their shiny hard abs gleam against the bright sun and I'm jealous of their tan skin. They look cute but Nico looks cuter if he was here. "Hey pretty." The blonde one scratches the back of his neck.
A gush of wind reshuffles his golden hair.
He looks like Seb but shorter and has a hard Brazilian accent. "Hey, what did you want?" I toss the used dirty tissues into the rubbish bin and glare into his brown eyes. "Can I get your snap?" He asks with his friends behind him. "Oh no I'm not really looking for that right now." I awkwardly replied to him as I fiddle with my fingers.
He frowns for a mere moment but shakes it off.
"You a tourist or something? Your accent is magnificent." He compliments my voice. "I just moved here aha. Thank you though" I uncomfortably rub my shoulder. "Ohh wait are you that new girl in BlueCrest?" He questions. "Yea I am, you go there?" I fold my fragile arms. He doesn't answer my question. "You going to Dylan's party today right?" He rubs my arm.
I step back from him.
"Uh yeah I am." I break eye contact with him. "Nice, I'll see you there." He grins. "Yea aha." I awkwardly tuck a stray strand behind my ear. His eyes wander down, away from my face. "You got a boyfriend?" He takes a step closer towards me. "Not yet." I take a step back. "Mm good answer." I spot drool in the corners of his mouth.
Disgusting is an understatement.
His eyes linger on my figure for a moment longer before he speaks up again. "Your body is entrancing me." He smirks at me and reaches for my hand but a familiar person swats his hand away. "Fancy meetin' you here Theo." Xander crosses his arm with a stern look on his face. "I was just leaving, Morales." Theo tries to back away.
"Not so fast." Xavier appears out of nowhere and pushed him back in.
"You see, that was our sister that you decided to speak to." Xander possessively declares. "Look, I don't want no trouble." He puts his hands in the air and slowly backs away trying to avoid resorting to violence. "I'm sure we can all figure something out." His concerned voice echos through the circle as he steps backwards.
Xavier slowly walks towards him.
"Don't think about coming to training again." Xavier adds on. "You're kicking me out of football because of her?" He points his hand towards me. "Precisely that." Xavier stares daggers at him. "Fuck you." Theo and his friends flip us off and scurry back to the other side of the beach.
I'm in shock.
"Did he touch you?"Xavier questions with a serious look. "No, he didn't get the chance to." I smirk at him. "Atta girl." The corners of Xander's mouth tilts upwards. "The others are already at the car, let's get a move on." Xavier ushers us. As we walk alongside the shore Xander's mouth opens up.
"Did you enjoy today Nat?" He questions with one hand behind my back.
"I did actually, but remember, the day isn't entirely over." I squeal at the last moment. Xavier rolls his eyes at my excitement. "After dinner get ready, put pillows under your duvet and quietly hop into Xander's car, got it?" He explains the plan to me. "Got it." I respond with a satisfied smirk.
This is going to be fun.
