Chase's pov:
"They're at the gates." Vincent frantically announced after checking the CCTV on his phone. Its was go time. I step towards the entrance of the warehouse with two AK-47s in each hand. I admire the gorgeous greenery around me. We have around 300 of our men here, all armed and ready. We have our spy to thank, he's the one who told us that the British mafia would be coming here.
If the rumours are true, even their Don would be present.
I can't believe that he would come all the way over here just to ambush our warehouse, we sure must mean a lot to him. We were always rivals since the beginning of time. At the start, mafias started in Italy and then migrated all across the globe. A few years ago, that was the case.
It was us, the British, the Americans, and the Italians.
The others were good, just not good enough. We signed a treaty to avoid violence but that was soon broken by the Italians. Now the Italian mafia doesn't exist. After all they were assassinated by us, when we do something, we do it well. Then only a few years back the previous British Don resigned, and a new Don replaced him.
A secret Don.
The old Don was a wise old guy, he was funny but always had a burning passion inside him. This new Don hasn't attended any mafia charity balls since he was elected, he must like his privacy. After the new Don took over, a few months went by before he apparently sent the American Don's son to jail.
Charles was not happy about that one.
I liked Damien, he was funny and he is my age too. He's been locked up for around 2 years or so but it feels much longer than that. His father couldn't get him out of prison but from what I've heard, he's getting out soon. Hopefully I'll be seeing him at the next mafia charity ball.
Only a month away.
Then it was two, after the Americans backed off. If I'm being completely honest, I have no idea why Charles didn't bomb London after his son got locked up but I feel that he has something bigger planned. I have no clue what it is but I know that it's coming, and it's coming fast.
Charles is a smart man, you were a fool if you thought otherwise.
It was down to the British and us. We still had the treaty in tact but after the British practically annihilated the Americans, we didn't want to end up like them too. Every so often we would drop a few men into the British Isles to cause some trouble but then the British always retaliated back.
The Don is a feisty man, I have to give it to him.
After they dropped a few bombs here and there across Brasilia we had enough and demolished the treaty, or what was left of it. We are now two separated mafias but the tension is still there. This is the first time that the new British Don has visited another mafia's country, or that all we know about him anyways. He's a very secretive man, he works underground.
We wouldn't be able to put a tracker on him even if we tried, and believe me, we tried.
Adrien has been getting texts about our sister from the British Don. We've discussed this with Vincent and he decided that if the situation escalates then Nat will have to have security surrounding her at all times. Her safety the most important thing to us. Leo thinks that the British aren't that serious but a threat is a threat.
And it's our sister that they're talking about.
We just got her back, we can't afford to lose her again. They must have some files on her or something since she lived in their territory. "Chase you stay in here, alright?" Vincent's deep voice echos throughout the large warehouse. Our stock of weapons, ammunition and guns are kept at the back of the warehouse with guards beside them 24/7.
They're never left unattended by our high tier security.
"But I want to go fight!" I complain. "No we have enough soldier outside, there's only 50 men in here. Leo, Adrien and I will join the rest outside." He elucidates for me in his big fancy words. "Fine." I roll my eyes. "Watch the attitude bud." He warns and turns around.
My brothers and the 250 men we gathered marched outside, prepared for the British infiltration. I hear the gates creak open and the British men charge forward, but there's only one catch. From my view, there's only around 50 of them at the gate. I know that the Don is new and all but shouldn't he be more prepared?
If it's your first ambush, go big or go home.
I laugh at his pathetic attempt to stop us when a loud boom erupts in the distance. I don't even need to squint to see a massive explosion kaboom, wait a second. The building that has blown up looks awfully familiar. I watch as the smoke emits from the burning building on ghetto horizon, miles away from us. I peer closer to see what's truth going on. HOLD UP.
THAT'S OUR VEHICLE WAREHOUSE.
I spot Vincent and our militia making their way towards their parked cars out front and I watch as they drive off. I turn to face the small portion of men behind me. "Boss what happened?" one of the men come up to me. "I think we got the wrong warehouse." I reply whilst still peering into the distance.
"So what do we do now? Should we join them?" Another one speaks up.
"I think they have it sorted." I shrug my shoulders and hand one of the guys my guns. I study my back and walk towards the middle of the warehouse. I feel like I'm being watched. I turn around but to my surprise there's nobody there. The 50 men begin to follow me as I guide them to the entrance.
"We can wait here until the rest come back." I command out loud.
"Sir yes sir!" They all march in unison. "Jesus I'm not that scary am I?" I playfully nudge the solider next to me. "I ain't Vincent, that's for sure." My voice bellows through the empty courtyard. It's been 10 minutes and that warehouse is 30 minutes away. It was going to take them a while to get there.
And when they do, the warehouse would already be burnt to a crisp.
We all were admiring the view when a random sound wave pushes the men in front of me. Some of them take a tumble whilst some others hit the wall and I crouch down to protect myself from any bodily injury. I cover my eyes as a sudden wave of smoke hits my nostrils. The smell of burning metal plagues my nose.
I turn around as my ears still ring from the spontaneous noise.
There's a circular hole in the back of the warehouse with a bundle of fallen weapons on the floor. The metal is ignited with a strong flame and an almost perfect circle appears the middle of the wall. After a few blinks the guys behind me pass me back my guns and we all huddle together not understanding what's going on.
A motorcycle with two people on it comes flying through the circle at a rapid speed.
They're wearing all black and helmets to conceal their identity. The one in front is driving it towards us but halts and starts to rotate in a circle. The female looking one that's sitting at the back has two guns and stretches her arms out wide. My ears ring again as she continuously fires bullets at us whilst on the motorcycle.
I quickly hide behind one of the men and use his body as protection.
Survival of the fittest at its finest. The bullets strike the now dead soldier in front of me and I crouch down. I peak over the corpse to watch as several soldiers infiltrate the side entrances of the open warehouse. The motorcycle stops and the two of them hop off. They are tossed guns by the surrounding soldiers.
Although they're the enemy, that was one hell of a badass entrance.
I turn around to face my men, or what I had left. That shootout took out 10 of them. Just great, only 40 of us are left and every second that goes by, more and more soldiers march in. "Well, well, well. Look what the cat dragged in." The taller one announces in a deep British accent.
If I'm being honest, all British accents sound the same to me.
I stand up and take leadership of the few men that I have left. They outnumber us 5:1 and I knew the only way out of this was to abide. If I wanted to get out alive, this was the only solution. "Sector one, take the guns. Sector two, the ammunition. And Sector three, the grenades." The female-looking one declares with order in her voice.
Her voice seems familiar, it's like Nat's but a bit harsher.
All their soldiers march in unison as they raid our stock. I feel so useless not being able to interrupt but I know that it will only end up with a bullet in my skull. The tall, masculine one walks towards the soldiers to officiate whilst the female one stands there. I glance at her but thats when I realise that she's staring at me.
Her weapons are on the floor.
The taller one i might be the British Don but I'll have to wait to unmask his identity later, but for now my eyes are on his counterpart. As she catwalks towards me, she looks like more of an assassin closer up. "Get the fuck out of here you twat." My grubby voice echos as I stand up and walk towards her.
"The last time I checked, my men outnumber yours so I would watch my words if I were you." her South-London accent pulls through. "Tell your idiotic Don that this means war." I demand with my strained voice. "Of course the Patriarchy! For sucks sake." She curses before straightening her posture.
She picks the gun off the floor and aims it at me.
"If you kill me, you won't have a mafia by the end of the day." I warn and put my hands up. She tilts her helmet and instantly pulls the trigger on some random solider behind me. Shit, make that count 39. I turn around to meet her gaze, she really is a badass. "Watch your tone Dingbat or the next time, your sister will be next."
She blows the smoke off gun nozzle.
"If you lay a finger on her-" I warn. "What are you gonna do huh? Kill me? Demolish the mafia? That's what the Italians said and now look at them." She scoffs and drops her weapon. I drop mine too. "The Italians fell off because they were foolish enough to try provoke you folk." I recap as we circle each other.
"Wrong." She makes a buzzer noise.
"I triggered the Italians because I threatened kill their entire family. Their pathetic attempt to attack us only resulted in them breaking the treaty. And we all know how that ended up." She elucidates and even lets out a little laugh at the end. "There's no way." I defend my remembrance of the occasion.
"Why do you think the Americans left too? Hm?" Her pride shines brightly.
"That was all me. No one else." Her bitter words snap out of her. Wait a second, she's way too feisty to care that much about my misunderstanding. Then it suddenly dawns on me. Her tone, her use of language, it all adds up now. "You're the Don." The realisation leaves my mouth open.
"I prefer the term Donna." She replies whilst admiring her nails through her gloves.
I fold my arms and smirk at her. "Well done, you had us fooled." "I know, I'm pretty good at it." She places her two hands on her hips. "Hey! We're done over here! You ready?" The tall one calls out. She turns around and yells "Take everything outside, I'll be there in a minute."
He nods and begins to escort everyone outside.
I take this time to order my men too. "Everyone get inside the staff room. I'll call Vincent to inform him about the situation." My dominant tone bounces off the metal walls. They all scurry to the miniature room so now it's just the Donna and me in the open area.
"Want to duel?" She offers and shrugs her shoulders.
"Hand on hand?" I question and kick the weapons to the side. "Obviously." She replies cockily and cracks her neck. We both posses our starting positions and we count in. "May the odds be ever in your favour." She bows down and tilts her head upwards. We begin and I lunge at her. I grab her arms but her little legs wrap around my left leg and she trips me up.
"You're on." I smirk at her.
Whilst I'm on the floor, I grab her ankle to bring her down with me. She shrieks at my sudden movement and I smirk at her vulnerability. "Gotcha." The corners of my mouth tilt upwards. I roll her under me and my hands surround her head. I slice her finger using a secret blade from my belt. She winces and raises her right leg to kick me in my nuts.
Oh god.
I turn over and groan in pain. "Time out." I grit through clenched teeth. "This British Donna doesn't do time outs." She scoffs and stands up along with me whilst licking the blood from her finger. We both raise our fists and we both have at it. For every time I strike her forearm, I block one of her weak attacks. "Where's the confidence now hm?" I tease.
"It never left." She boldly replies and triple kicks my abdomen.
I immediately clutch my stomach and she walks up to me and strikes my nose with her powerful fist. I'm leaning against a nearby wall. She sure is skinny, but she knows how to pack a punch. "Here's a little piece of advice for ya." She crouches down to my eye level. She does the asian squat in the process.
"Don't play games with a girl who plays better." She tilts her head.
I notice the purple stitching of a lion on her gloves. "My eyes are up here you imbecile." She tilts my chin up with her pistol. "This is only the start of it." She warns and gets up. "Oh and sorry for all the damage. I'm sure that daddy will pay for it." She sarcastically raises a hand to her mouth.
"Whoops." She laughs it off.
"Tell V I said hi." She walks off and blows me a kiss before she disappears past the entrance. I just got my ass kicked by the British Donna and now we don't have any weaponry. I'm going to get my ass served in a silver plater by Vincent once he finds out what I had just gotten us into.
This means war, and I don't know if we can win this one alone.
