"Thought you were just sobering up. What took you so long?"
I took the handkerchief with some surprise. "Didn't expect Mr. Albrecht to come looking for me personally."
"Don't flatter yourself. I'm just curious who you were meeting with." He raised an eyebrow meaningfully.
I smiled. "Should've known nothing gets past you."
"Ms. Virell." He leaned closer, studying my face intently. "Working with me requires absolute loyalty. Otherwise..."
Ever since he'd caught me digging into the Albrecht family finances, he'd been watching me like a hawk. But I couldn't exactly tell him I'd been investigating him because I didn't trust him either—that would really kill the partnership vibe.
I pressed my hand over his mouth playfully. "Relax, I definitely wasn't sneaking around meeting your enemies or anything."
