"Her parents were both ocean researchers, and they died doing that research. Her parents' only wish was for her to live a simple life, get married, and be happy."
"When she met you, it was like her parents' dream come true—she married you, had a baby. But for ten years, she never gave up her ocean research."
"She had one project she never let you touch—a drug to heal marine life. Her determination, resolve, composure, and strength are at a level you'll never reach. The fact that she was willing to stay in London and build a life with you was already a goddamn blessing. But you threw it all away."
Asher's tears were pure agony.
His throat felt like it was being ripped apart.
"Grandpa, can you help me? I don't want Rosalind to go to that place. Thirty years is way too fucking long."
"Can't help you. I don't even know where that place is."
Asher immediately begged: "Grandpa, please, I know you have connections. Please."
But Bowen just sighed. "Asher, you already betrayed Rosalind. Why keep pushing?"
"She's my life!"
Bowen still wouldn't agree while Asher kept kneeling.
He knew his grandfather had serious connections and he could only beg him.
He knelt for three straight days.
Finally, his grandfather made a phone call.
But after he hung up, he still shook his head.
"Asher, kneeling here won't help. I had people look into it—she's already gone. She took Nolan too. There's no signal there, no contact with the outside world. It's completely sealed off."
"And once people go in, the door shuts completely. They can't come out for thirty years. Even if you could find that place, you couldn't open the door to the ocean."
Asher completely lost his mind. He went crazy burning through money, company funds, everything trying to find Rosalind.
Three months later, the company was in serious financial trouble.
And the patents he and Rosalind had developed together—half the data was hers. That fire destroyed the research lab, so he couldn't recreate it alone.
Kemnis Group was in deep shit.
His grandfather tried to get Asher to sign a sale contract, Asher refused.
Today someone said they had news about Rosalind—shares in exchange for information.
He agreed.
But when he met this person: "Asher, I'm Rosalind's friend, Henry Murphy."
Asher knew this guy—he'd had feelings for Rosalind.
"I don't know if she ever told you that we grew up together. For ten years, I watched Rosalind love you."
Asher's face went dark: "Where is she? Do you actually have information, or are you bullshitting me?"
"I do have info, but there's something we need to settle first."
Before Asher could react, Henry threw a punch.
Soon Asher was bleeding from his face, getting his ass kicked by Henry.
Henry looked at the beaten-up Asher and finally smiled.
"When Rosalind bought back those photos, it cost fifty million total. But she only had her annual salary from Kemnis Group in her account. She only used your card once."
"Asher Kemnis, Kemnis Group's collapse is inevitable because you were never the core of that company—Rosalind was. I can tell you where she is if you sign this contract."
Asher saw the contract said he'd unconditionally give Nolan to Henry.
"Where is she?!" Asher furiously grabbed Henry's shirt.
"Didn't you disappear when Rosalind and I got married five years ago? Then stay the fuck gone."
"Asher, sign it, and I'll tell you the location."
Asher finally picked up the pen and signed.
Henry let out a cold smile: "Rosalind's in the Pacific, on a small island that goes directly into the deep ocean."
"Asher, you'll never be able to go there, but I can. In ten days, after I finish handling the last of Rosalind's things you have here—Kemnis Group."
Henry's finger tapped the contract.
"Then I'm leaving to find Rosalind. And you'll never qualify to enter that place."
Asher immediately grabbed Henry. "Help me give her a message—I'll wait for her forever."
Henry just smiled.
Asher watched Henry destroy Kemnis Group, which got broken into tiny pieces and sold off completely within ten days.
Asher had always been tracking Henry.
On the last day, he took the same helicopter as Rosalind and left London.
Asher had a helicopter ready and immediately followed. When it flew straight to the Pacific, Asher kept following until the helicopter finally stopped on a small island in the Pacific.
Asher was thrilled, thinking he'd found Rosalind. He desperately chased after the iron door Henry had gone through, watching Henry go in.
Henry smiled and waved at Asher who was rushing over.
Then there was a massive explosion.
The area near the door blew up.
Asher got thrown to the ground by the blast. His ears were bleeding from the impact.
He still tried to crawl toward the entrance.
But finally collapsed at the gate.
