"la, what are you doing out here all by yourself?"
Dominic's voice was warm, almost too familiar, his gaze lingering on me with an intensity that felt possessive. The man was a wall of muscle—tall, broad, and radiating raw, undeniable masculinity.
Heat rushed to my cheeks, my pulse kicking up in response.
"I—I just needed some air."
"This isn't a safe place to wander alone. There are wild animals around." His tone dropped, low and commanding. "Stay close to me. I'll walk with you."
As he spoke, his hand settled casually on the curve of my waist. The scent of him—warm, musky, undeniably male—flooded my senses, impossible to ignore.
I bit my lip, a shiver of nervous anticipation skittering down my spine.
After all, he was the one who had seen everything—every inch of me, exposed. And now, with no one else around… what could a petite, married woman like me do against a man like him?
Would… something happen?
Swallowing hard, I shifted slightly, my voice barely a whisper. "It's fine. I—I can handle myself. Please let go."
To my surprise, Dominic immediately stepped back. But his next words sent my pulse skyrocketing all over again.
"Your husband's probably having the time of his life with my girlfriend right now. If you don't loosen up soon, it'll be too late."
I stiffened. "What are you talking about?"
He pulled out his phone, swiping to a series of photos of Sophia.
"Vincent took these. He's got a real eye for photography—especially body painting. Knows exactly how to capture her… beauty."
In the images, Sophia practically glowed, her smile dazzling.
One photo in particular made my stomach clench—her delicate frame pressed against Vincent, her expression soft, intimate.
A sharp pang of dread shot through me. My instincts screamed that if I didn't do something, I might lose him for good.
But how could I just swallow my pride and apologize outright?
Dominic smirked, as if reading my thoughts.
"Since Vincent appreciates body art, why don't I paint something he'd love on you? That way, making up would feel… natural."
It wasn't a terrible idea.
Except…
I fidgeted, my voice barely audible.
"You… you don't mean that kind of body art, do you?"
