I woke up from the bright sunlight that pierced through my windows. My body felt really soar after the night we had, me and Nathan did so many rounds but for some reason it kept getting better as it went on. My body was aching everywhere, we had done so many positions that I couldn't even count. Who knew that having sex could make you so sore?
Looking to the side, the bed was cold and empty, it made me frown knowing that he probably left without saying goodbye because of work. Looking back to the clock, it was eleven. I jolt out of bed quickly rushing to get dressed into jeans and a plain shit, quickly going to Leo's room, he obviously woken up already. His room was empty when I peaked in, oh god, I just left my five year old alone!
Quickly rushing downstairs, my nerves had calmed when I saw Nathan cooking breakfast and Leo eating. So Nathan didn't leave... "hi mommy! Daddy made me breakfast already!" Leo exclaims happily.
"Is it good baby?"
"It's really good mommy! Can we have this next weekend?"
"Of course, whatever you want baby," I say then turn to Nathan wrapping my arms around his waist from the back. "You're still here... Good morning," a smile appears on my face.
"Of course I'm still here, good morning, did you sleep well?" Nathan asks turning around to kiss me. I missed waking up to him cooking for me in the morning.
"I slept well, actually better then I have these past few days." Which was true, ever since my pregnancy, all I could think of was how I'd like a normal family with my husband filling up the other side of the bed. It only took five years for that to happen.
"I didn't want to wake you up because you looked so peaceful."
"What's the plan for today?"
"Actually, about that..." Nathan hands me plate of eggs, bacon and potatoes. "I actually have to leave today back home, I'll come by next weekend again though." He says and I take a seat beside Leo who was eating.
"Already so soon?" I ask disappointed.
"I have work tomorrow sadly, but I promised we will work something out."
"Daddy are you leaving us forever again?"
Nathan walks up to our son, "never buddy, I'm not going anywhere, you'll see me so much that you'll get so sick of me. We can even setup video call so I can talk to you even if I can't visit you. How does that sound bud?"
"Please don't leave us again," Leo begs with little tears in his eyes and hugs his dad. He has been waiting for his dad for so long and now he finally has met him, it's difficult because of us living in different area's.
"I'm not buddy, I love you so much already," I know that Nathan was telling the truth because he always wanted to be a father. Without a doubt would he not love his own kids or even kids that aren't his, he was more of a family guy which I liked.
"Okay, you promise daddy?"
"Promise baby, now finish your food before it gets cold." Nathan says, "I'll setup the video call on your phone if you'd like.
"Yes please," I hand him my phone unlocking the screen, I'm not really one that knows how to maneuver technology. My knowledge was very low of it, again, I had cut it out for most of my life except for using it for work. "Hey little man, how about we go to the park today?" Leo nods his head excitedly in response with his mouth full of food, I couldn't help but giggle.
"Will daddy come too?" Nathan nods to him letting him know that he will be joining us.
"Mommy?"
"Yes baby," I said while wiping his mouth with a napkin.
"Are you going to cry at night when daddy leaves?" His question totally shocked me and Nathan stopped doing what he was on my phone, his eyes were gazing on me but I didn't want to look at him.
"What makes you think I cry at night?" I ask him curious if how he knows and what he knows.
"I hear you mommy, at night, crying daddy's name." He says and it is true that that has happened a few times, but I thought he was sleeping... how is this little guy so smart? Kids are so smart, it's amazing what they know. I love Nathan, it hurt me over multiple years so yes I had to let all emotions out.
"When was the last time mommy cried Leo?" Nathan asks, no, he's using my innocent son to find out more information about what happened before. Of course, Nathan knew everything and had to know everything.
"She cried last week daddy," obviously Leo didn't know the situation of what happened, I also never expected him to know about that.
"Okay Leo, how about you go get your socks, a sweater and we could go to the park for a little bit." Thankfully he obeyed and happily took off upstairs.
I turn to Nathan who quickly hugged me tightly, "baby I'm sorry, I wish I knew, I'll make it up to you."
"Nathan it's okay, you're here now and you said you weren't leaving me, just prove to me that you'll keep your promise."
"Mommy, daddy! I'm ready to go!"
"Okay, we're coming! Just let me put my food away," Leo comes in rushing me as I try to clean up as rapidly as I could.
"Ready?" Nathan asks.
"Yup, let's go."
We left my house to walk to the park in the neighbourhood, there were a bunch of kids that were playing there and even some friends from around the area. We decided to let Leo run around to play while we both sat down on one of the park benches where Leo was still in view. He left his sweater on the bench beside me to watch. We sat down holding hands and Nathan put his arm around me.
"We should probably discuss about how this is going to work now between us."
"Yeah we should," I say.
"For now I could just drive down to see you guys or you guys can drive up, and we could all spend some time together. I'm open to your suggestions as well."
"Well, I was thinking, maybe I could move back closer to you, find an apartment because I know it's hard for you to relocate when your business is there. Maybe during Leo's school break we could look at schools down at your end. I could ask to switch firms to work down there." I suggest.
"That would be perfect, you're amazing baby," he kisses my cheek. "What if you guys moved in with me?"
"Isn't it too early Nathan?"
"Love doesn't have a time frame," he defends.
"I know but adjusting and everything..."
"It could be temporary, until you find a place of your own." He comes closer to my ear, "and plus we already had sex together, doesn't that seem too early?" He smirks.
Damn it, he does have a point, slowly his other hand makes its way over to the hem of my jeans. Thank god the other parents weren't paying attention, "Nathan what are you doing?"
"I'm trying to persuade you, what else?" He smirks with an evil expression.
"Stop it, we're in public." I warn him.
"I'm persuading you." His hand slowly starts to slip into my jeans.
"Okay okay! I will! God damn, do you really have to act like that?" I snapped giggling and he immediately let's go of my jeans.
"Only for you baby," he winks, he was about to kiss me on the lips until his phone started ringing. "I'll be right back, I have to take this," Nathan quickly kisses my cheek then walks away to take his phone call. It's probably about work, it could be important but that's okay, it's part of what he does so it's never disturbed me. Only really when it disrupted our alone or family time.
Looking over to the playground Leo was probably on the other side of the play structure, it only takes a second for him to disappear when my eyes are constantly trailing him. Why is it that he's able to escape when you watch him like a hawk? Nobody could even come close to answering that, he is such an energetic child that it's sometimes hard to keep up with him, he goes from running, to jumping and then it gets even better. Bouncing of the wall like a bouncy ball.
Although he is energetic, there are always a change in his emotions that happen really quickly. One second he can be happy, then he can be angry, excited then sad. It sometimes concerns me but he normally just ranges from happy and mad.
Walking around to the other side of the playground, Leo is yelling at a man who was walking his dog and it seems like he is unfazed by my son's attitude.
