The video replayed in my mind on a sickening loop, each frame carving deeper into me. My family's reputation, my future with Bryant—everything I'd built was teetering on the edge of collapse.
I couldn't let this happen. If this got out… I'd be ruined.
My fingers moved on their own, scrolling frantically until I found Gabriel's number. He answered on the third ring, his voice smooth, dripping with false charm. "Amanda. To what do I owe the pleasure?"
"What the hell is this video?!" I exploded, my voice raw. "Why do you have it? Why would you record us, you sick bastard?"
A beat of silence. Then a laugh—low, icy, mocking. "Oh, that. I was wondering when you'd bring it up."
My blood turned to ice. "It was you," I whispered, the truth crashing down on me. "Not Nadia. You."
"Obviously," he drawled, amusement lacing every word. "Did you really think I'd just let you walk away? Marry Bryant? Play house like nothing happened?"
I clenched my jaw, tears burning behind my eyes. "Why? What do you want from me?"
"Isn't it obvious?" His voice was silk over steel. "Call off the wedding. Come back to me. We'll pick up where we left off." A pause. "Oh, and your family's company? It keeps funding mine."
A bitter laugh tore from my throat, half-hysterical. "You're delusional. I don't love you. I never will again."
"Love?" He chuckled, the sound slithering down my spine. "This isn't about love, Amanda. It's about control. And I always get what I want. Bryant doesn't stand a chance."
I opened my mouth to fire back—then my phone buzzed. Another notification. A folder.
My stomach dropped as I opened it. More videos. Dozens. Different nights, different angles. All of them us.
Tears spilled over. I couldn't breathe. "You're a monster," I choked out.
"Tsk. Name-calling?" His voice was lethally calm. "Here's how this works. You obey, the videos stay private. You defy me… well, imagine the headlines. Your parents. Bryant."
I squeezed my eyes shut. The scandal would obliterate me. My family's name would be dragged through the mud. Bryant would never look at me the same.
"What do you want me to do?" The words tasted like ash.
Triumph oozed through the line. "My apartment. Tonight. We'll… talk."
I hesitated, every instinct screaming run. But what choice did I have?
"Fine," I whispered.
"Good girl," he purred—and the call died.
I sat frozen, my vision blurring. The drive to his place was a haze. When I pulled up, my hands shook on the wheel. Part of me wanted to floor the gas, to escape this nightmare. But the threat of those videos kept me trapped.
I forced myself out of the car. The door swung open before I could knock.
Gabriel leaned against the frame, shirtless, sweatpants slung low. That smug smirk curled his lips as his gaze raked over me—like he'd already won.
I barely got a word out before he yanked me inside, the door slamming shut behind us.
"Gabriel—"
His mouth crushed mine, cutting me off.
