Ethan shook his head, then suddenly seized my hand, his grip desperate. His eyes burned with raw emotion. "Please... just give me one more chance. Let's start over, okay?
"I'll do anything you want.
"I'll stay away from every other woman.
"L—"
His voice cracked, tears spilling down his face.
I'd never seen him like this—completely shattered.
"You know... when I got hit saving you, when I broke my leg... I was already pregnant. I never told you because I didn't want to weigh you down.
"But time doesn't rewind. Some things can't be undone.
"No matter how hard you try to prove your love now, it's too late. All it does is make me pity you."
I exhaled slowly, my voice steady.
