Matthew smiled. His eyes were slightly curved, his teeth were white, and even his bald head shone more. "Miss Donovan, you're so cute."
Athena blushed and quickly found a topic to cover her shyness. "But now that your sister survived and returned, will the murderer make another attempt on her again?"
"Maybe," Matthew smiled faintly, "I'm not afraid of the murderer making a move. I'm more afraid that the murderer won't do a thing."
Athena understood what he meant. "That's true."
After that, she continued to study the video. Her eyes were unblinking as her fingers occasionally swiped on the keyboard. She first looked at the important parts.
She was like a straight-A student who just encountered an interesting problem she had never seen before. She would not be satisfied until she solved it.
Matthew played with the cup and watched her quietly. It was said that one was the most attractive when one was working seriously. It was the same for both genders.
The evening breeze blew across their cheeks. There was a hint of heat in the coolness and a hint of restlessness in the silence.
Half an hour later, Athena looked up. "I've mostly finished watching it. Perhaps I can give it a try."
She quickly gave her preliminary conclusion. "You and your great-uncle have investigated the truck, the truck driver, the murderer who called you, and the person who sent the video to your great-uncle. None of them provided any clues. The only lead is the drone.
"This video was taken between two and four in the morning. This drone was able to capture such clear video from high up and from a distance. It could also be operated with precision and has a long battery life. This was not an ordinary drone, but it was not a military drone either.
"Military drones don't make that much noise. Civilian drones like that are not common in the market. It is indeed a clue."
A look of admiration appeared in Matthew's eyes again. "Great minds think alike. Miss Donovan, you are indeed a genius. I have a feeling you are my lucky star again."
Athena smiled broadly. Her eyes shone with enthusiasm. "Can you send this video to me? Don't worry, I won't let anyone else see it." She added, "I promise there won't be any more accidents this time."
"Of course." Matthew nodded. "No matter what you do, I will support it."
Athena blushed slightly. "It's half past eight. I should go back. I'll tell you when I have some clues."
Athena was extremely eager. It had been a long time since she had encountered such a challenging case. Lockwood finally had a job.
Matthew smiled, "Alright, I'll send you back."
Athena pointed out sternly, "You had alcohol just now."
Matthew nodded. "So you'll have to drive us."
Athena blinked in shock. He was sending her back but she got to drive. She couldn't believe his logic.
However, she was very gentlemanly and refused to argue with him over such a small problem.
Thus, she drove Matthew home while Louis followed them in Matthew's car. It felt weird.
When they reached the entrance of her neighborhood, Matthew did not enter. He got out of the car at the entrance and watched Athena disappear before getting into his car.
After the car started, Matthew crossed his arms and looked out the window. He said indifferently, "I promised to give Miss Donovan a gift the week before last. Have you found him?"
Louis, who was driving, said, "Yes, we found the target. But the rat bastard is sly and excels at hiding. We're attempting to capture him now. He's a sitting duck. He'll be caught soon."
"Hurry up." Matthew closed his eyes. "I don't want to delay what I promised her."
"Okay, sir." Louis observed his boss from the rearview mirror. He was quite satisfied with his boss's performance tonight.
