She was still dumbfounded by what she heard earlier.
They did not ask for any benefits. On top of that, they offered to help with the design and renovation.
It was simply unbelievable. Her head spun and it hurt.
Rufus waved his hand. "It's no trouble at all. Rufus, let's exchange contacts."
He looked at Rufus and continued, "After choosing the location, I will bring the investment contract and the designer along. Feel free to raise your demands. We will fulfill every demand. Don't worry about the budget. Business will be brisk given Mrs. Donovan's culinary skills."
Arthur was over the moon to have Rufus's assurance. He bowed repeatedly. "Thank you, Mr. Freeman."
"Don't call me Mr. Freeman. Just call me Arthur." Rufus took out his phone and added Arthur's contact on his phone. "Mrs. Donovan, you've had a hard day today. It's time for you to rest. We'll go back now."
The other three stood up and nodded at Claire.
The scholarly guy said, "Thank you for your hospitality."
The middle-aged female said, "Do your best."
The skinny guy added, "Hurry up with the restaurant's opening. I'll go eat whenever I'm free."
After saying that, the four of them left without any hesitation.
After Claire sent them off, she looked at the children bewilderingly. "Am I dreaming?"
It was unbelievable that something that seemed too tricky to deal with was resolved that simply.
Arthur raised a hand. He wanted to pinch his face. However, his hand reached for his arm instead. The pain made his facial features scrunch up. "It hurts. It's not a dream."
Athena smiled. "Since the investment has been settled, you can choose a close location to open the restaurant. That way, Mommy will have more time to rest."
Claire smiled and said, "Arthur and I have already checked out many places nearby. We'll go and take another look tomorrow. If there's anything suitable, we'll make a decision."
Over the years, she had worked through the night almost every night. She was already exhausted.
When she thought about how she would no longer have to stay up late in the upcoming days and that she could earn more money with more time to stay at home, her heart was filled with anticipation and joy.
Arthur took her arm and said, "Mom, go have a nap first. I'll clean up the kitchen. We'll search for a place again when you wake up."
Athena yawned too. "I'm a little tired too. I will go to my room to sleep."
As soon as she got to her bed, Matthew messaged her. He asked if she was free for a meal tonight as he was preparing to go to Kitmore City.
There was a grin spreading on Athena's face. She replied that she had time.
Matthew's reply was instantaneous. He told her that he would reserve a table at the cruise restaurant. He also asked if he could message her again when he reached Kitmore City.
Athena had no problem with it.
Matthew added a smiley emoticon in his reply. He said he looked forward to seeing Athena.
Athena replied and said she also looked forward to seeing him at night.
Their exchange of messages ended.
Matthew repeatedly thought back on his exchange of messages with Athena. He voiced out his thoughts. " Should I prepare a gift for her? I don't think there's any gift worthy enough of her."
Louis wanted to take out a handkerchief to wipe his tears.
He never thought Louis would think that far to bring along a gift for a woman.
Louis adjusted his glasses as his eyes flickered behind them. "Mr. Graham, according to sources, Miss Donovan's a cat lover."
There was a pause before he continued, "If you bring a cat, I'm sure Miss Donovan will be happy. However, there's also the possibility she might be more interested in the cat than you."
As soon as Louis finished speaking, he heard a meow. A little green-eyed black cat emerged from Mathew's back. It then rested against Matthews's head. Its four limbs hugged his head. It then narrowed its big eyes and stuck out its little tongue to Matthew's head. As it licked, it meowed happily.
Louis pushed up his glasses. He could not help but envy how close they were.
Only Miss Donovan and the cat could behave however they wanted before Matthew.
Matthew stared at the black cat's reflection on the tempered glass. After some thought, he grabbed the black cat from the top of his head and threw it onto the sofa. "Let's go."
