The other party did not answer the question. He just laughed in a hoarse, harsh voice. "I'll give you an hour. I won't wait for you if you're late."
Then, he hung up.
Valemont City was an international metropolis with a population of more than 20 million.
Even though it was almost midnight, and the streets were not congested, an hour was not enough to drive from Matthew's residence to the end of Silver Sea Avenue.
Matthew put on his clothes and went out. He drove his usual Miracle2.0.
He traveled as fast as lightning.
Soon, he arrived at the conspicuous unfinished building on time.
This area was a construction site that had been closed for a long time. There was no one living nearby, so it was very suitable for doing some shady things.
Without much effort, Matthew saw light shining from the unfinished building. That should be where the other party wanted him to go.
Matthew circled the unfinished building and saw no one.
After arriving at the source of the light, he still did not see anyone else. He only saw a candle that was about to go out and a line of words written on the wall.
"Arrive at the east side of Rivergate Bridge within 30 minutes, where you'll find what you're looking for. I won't wait past the deadline."
Matthew turned around and left. He went straight to the Rivergate Bridge.
The Rivergate Bridge was located in the suburbs of Valemont City. It was located in a remote location and was uninhabited. The bridge itself was extremely old, leading to an abandoned mine. In the dead of night, not a soul could be found.
However, the bridge was still lit up by street lamps at night, illuminating circles of dim areas.
When Matthew arrived at the east end of the bridge on time, the headlights from the front and back illuminated an area of dozens of square meters.
There was no one in sight, only a drone.
It was the same kind of drone that captured his sister's car accident.
Matthew was not in a hurry to get out of the car. Instead, he leisurely took out a cup of hot coffee from the incubator and drank it slowly.
The other party had spent so much effort to lure him here. It was definitely not to give him a drone.
Matthew was in no hurry.
He waited for the other party to make his move first.
Matthew did not have to wait long. In less than five to six minutes, just as he finished his coffee, a group of burly men in green sportswear and white bandages on their faces rushed out and surrounded his car.
Their gazes were fierce, and they held weapons like clubs and machetes in their hands. It was very likely that they were professional fighters.
If an ordinary person saw this scene, they would probably be so frightened that their entire body would go limp. They would either call the police for help or think of ways to escape or bribe the other party.
Matthew was still sitting calmly in the driver's seat. He looked around indifferently.
His phone rang and he picked up to hear the other party's voice.
The other party said smugly, "Mr. Graham, if you can defeat them, you have a chance of getting information out of them. Otherwise, you'll end up missing a limb or worse, lose your life."
"Just twenty people to take me down?" Matthew's voice was as calm as if he were stating a fact. "You're underestimating me."
The voice replied dismissively. "Taking tough, huh? I'll be watching you from afar this time, just like I watched your sister nearly get crushed into a pulp back then."
Matthew was not angered. His voice was as calm as water. "Please watch until the end."
The other party hung up.
Matthew then heard a thud. A burly man in sportswear smashed the iron rod in his hand on the front of his car. Then, he raised his palm and beckoned him to come out.
Matthew did not move. His cold gaze stared through the windshield at the other party expressionlessly.
The other party felt that he was being looked down upon. He waved his hand and shouted, "Smash!"
More than 20 thugs rushed up excitedly. They raised the clubs and machetes in their hands and slashed at the car like a storm.
Matthew leaned back slightly and took out a sealed pack of cigarettes from the storage box. He opened the seal, took out a cigarette, and put it in his mouth. Then, he lit a lighter and lit the cigarette.
Next, he elegantly held the cigarette between his index and middle fingers and took a puff. He calmly watched the thugs outside the car perform.
