Late into the night, Bard Property was still a hive of activity as the management team grappled with the company's spiraling debt.
Things looked bleak until, out of nowhere, they each received a call from Vission Group. At first, they couldn't believe their ears.
After all, Vission Group was the country's most mysterious and prestigious private enterprise, rolling in wealth. They kept a low profile, so much so that even the biggest players in the industry struggled to get a foot in the door.
It seemed utterly absurd that Vission Group would take any interest in Bard Garden, a run-of-the-mill residential project. The managers were convinced it was a prank.
"If you're really from Vission Group, I'll eat my hat!" one of them snapped into the phone.
"Keep this nonsense up, and we'll call the cops!" another barked.
But when the caller switched to a video chat and showed they were actually at Vission Group's headquarters, the executives nearly fell over in shock. One of them stammered out, "If you help us pay off this project's debt, we'll do whatever you say!"
The moment the call ended, they sprang into action, scrambling to round up every employee and gather all the relevant documents. They worked like mad through the night, not stopping until everything was ready.
Not long after, Harry Freeman, Vission Group's representative in Kitmore City, showed up at Bard Property with his team. He announced that Vission Group had decided to invest 100 million dollars into the company, making them the majority shareholder. They were going to restructure the board, clear the company's debts, and bring in new leadership.
Bard Property's management was hopeful that the company could be fully absorbed into Vission Group, becoming part of the powerhouse. But Harry quickly put an end to that fantasy.
"Let's be clear," Harry said, his voice calm but firm. "We're here to assess each one of you. Those who meet our standards will stay. Those who don't will be compensated and shown the door."
He added, "If you don't accept our terms by 8 a.m. tomorrow, we'll walk away. No second chances."
Faced with the overwhelming might of Vission Group and Harry's unwavering stance, Bard Property's team had no choice but to cave.
One of the board members finally worked up the nerve to ask, "But why is Vission Group interested in saving this residential project?"
Harry's response was cool and measured. "My boss values peace and harmony. When she saw homeowners protesting in the blistering heat, desperate and out of options, she couldn't stand by and do nothing. She decided to step in."
His words left the entire room speechless. After a moment, both sides came to an agreement.
At the crack of dawn, they gathered their documents and headed out to finalize the necessary procedures.
Later that afternoon, Wesley was preparing food cart ingredients with Claire and their kids when his phone rang.
He quickly wiped his hands on a clean towel before answering, "Hello?"
As the person on the other end spoke, Wesley shot to his feet, eyes wide with shock. "Are you serious? This isn't some kind of joke, is it? We can't handle a prank like this!"
After a brief pause, he continued, "Okay, got it. I'll start gathering the documents right away. We'll be there in two days for the handover."
