They also had an automatic "owner" recognition system. Once the owner's identity was input, they could recognize them.
Since it was Alaric first time at the villa, his height, appearance, voice, and other data had not yet been entered into the system. As a result, the "owls" identified him as an intruder since there was no "owner" accompanying him.
Since they looked so realistic, the neighbors once thought they were real owls, which alarmed the security guards.
After the security guards confirmed that they were electronic devices and explained it to the community owners, the neighbors were amazed and asked where they could buy such owl surveillance systems.
Athena stated that they were trial products and not available for sale which made the neighbors give up regrettably.
Now, the two "owls" had become a popular attraction in the community, with kids often coming by to see them.
Alaric clapped his hands, repeatedly exclaiming, "Athena, you're amazing! I heard from my family that the lab where you work is impressive. It always produces strange and amazing things. I really wonder if your lab connects to a fourth-dimensional space to make such incredible stuff."
Athena smiled and replied ambiguously, "Maybe it really is."
As the two of them were talking, Alaric's phone rang. It was a call from Arthur.
Arthur's voice was so loud that Athena could hear it. "Alaric, what are you doing? Hurry up and come help at the restaurant! Let Athena take a rest. She studies very hard, so don't trouble her with such small matters."
Alaric raised his voice as if he was competing with him. "Got it. I'll go over now."
Athena said, "The restaurant is not far from the community. It's only a ten-minute drive. We don't have to rush. Take a rest and eat something. I'll take you there after I change my clothes. Oh, there are three empty rooms on the second floor. You can choose any one of them."
Alaric rubbed the back of his neck. "Alright, I'll go take a shower. I'll be done in ten minutes."
Athena looked him up and down.
He had probably not rested well for the past few days. Perhaps he had been lying on the high-speed train for a long time and then run up the mountain. His clothes were wrinkled, his hair a bit messy, his face sweaty, and he had a little stubble.
He should really take a shower. However, he was still very handsome.
After about ten minutes, Athena changed her clothes and walked into the main building while munching on a piece of bread. "Alaric, are you ready?"
"All set!" Alaric dashed down the stairs from the second-floor corridor, waving at her. "We can leave now."
Athena glanced up and nodded to him, thinking, 'Not bad.'
Alaric had an upright posture, with sharp eyebrows and bright eyes, long limbs, and was dressed in a light-colored casual trendy outfit. He had a black casual travel bag slung over his left shoulder, looking both sunny and handsome, youthful and energetic, just like the kind of popular basketball boys in comics that girls adore.
Alaric ran to the dining table and picked up a piece of bread. "Athena, let's go."
The two of them got into the car.
Alaric sat in the passenger seat and touched the car in surprise. "This car is so awesome! Athena, I didn't expect a girl like you to drive such a cool car."
He sighed. "Dad has a car, Arthur has a car, everyone has a car, but I don't have one. Looks like I need to work harder. As long as I can be selected for the national team, the school will give me a bonus. It should be enough to buy a car."
