The group stared in disbelief, eyes wide as they tried to make sense of what they were seeing.
"It really is Athena!" Regina exclaimed, her voice a mix of excitement and shock. "When did she start hanging out with Harry Freeman? Wasn't she supposed to be back with her damn birth parents? What the hell is she doing here?"
Isaac frowned as he took in the scene. "She's been busy with school and just finished her SAT about half a month ago. After that, she was supposed to be focusing on reconnecting with her birth parents. How on earth did she end up with Harry?"
As they watched Athena walk off with Harry, Andrew's expression darkened with a mix of disdain and disgust.
Even though Athena had been kicked out of the Kennedy family, she had been raised with the standards of a young lady. It was hard to believe she was now mixed up with a notorious playboy like Harry.
Seeing her so close to him, laughing and chatting like that, she didn't come off as a proper girl at all.
To Andrew, if she wanted to make a fool of herself, that was her business. But her behavior could easily reflect badly on the Kennedy family, making it look like they hadn't raised her right.
The sight of Athena pissed Zoe off, though she tried to keep her tone neutral. "Athena's always been a loner, never one for socializing much, but she seems awfully cozy with Mr. Freeman. Maybe they've known each other for a while."
"If you'd only known sooner, you wouldn't have had to go through all that trouble. You could've just asked her for help," Zoe said, her voice reasonable but with a sharp edge of provocation.
Regina, fuming, slammed her fist on the armrest. "I bet she kept this from us on purpose! She didn't want to help us out of this mess!"
"All those years of raising her, and for what?" Regina raged.
Isaac let out a sigh, trying to keep calm. "There might be some misunderstanding here. We don't know the whole story, so let's not jump to conclusions."
Zoe's eyes glinted with calculation as she added softly, "Mr. and Mrs. Kennedy, I've known Athena for years, and I still care about her. I called her yesterday to see if I could help, but she snapped at me."
Her voice turned more hurt and concerned. "Athena accused me of being fake, said I wanted to see her suffer. She even claimed that she was about to snag a big shot and climb her way to the top, and that you'd all regret abandoning her.
"I'm just worried she might be so desperate to maintain her lifestyle that she's out there chasing after powerful, wealthy men..."
Zoe's seemingly concerned words subtly sowed seeds of doubt in the Kennedys' minds.
Regina immediately jumped to conclusions. "Could that ungrateful little bitch be using her looks to seduce Harry and trash-talk us, trying to turn him against us?"
