Luna felt that at least one-third of the reason for her suffering from depression was that her family kept talking about how she would deteriorate after thirty and how they kept urging her to get married and have children.
"I get it." Not wanting to argue inconclusively with her mother, she rode along her mother's words and said, "If time permits, I'll go on a blind date.
"Anyway, the director is rushing me to film the next scene. I'll talk to you again."
Luna hung up the phone, feeling very tired.
'So what if a woman is thirty?
'She is clear-headed, independent, no longer naive and childish, but not old-fashioned either. Her career would've passed the most difficult period, and everything in her life would be rolling smoothly.
'But then, everyone, be it those inside or outside the entertainment industry, feels that women will lose their charm and fame when they hit thirty. They think that women's marketability will dip and their value greatly reduced. Are these going to happen to me?'
Those thoughts made Luna anxious.
Now that she had finally regained her calm and optimistic attitude, her family was urging her to get married again.
She shook her head and pulled herself together, not wanting to think about it anymore.
Then, she gracefully went downstairs and sat back down at the table. She still looked impeccable.
Jaden scooped another bowl of soup for her. "Here you go."
Luna drank the soup and ate the dishes as she tried to come up with a plan to escape the blind date arranged by her family.
At that moment, the television was broadcasting entertainment news. It mentioned that Director Steve Levine's movie, "Boundary Strike," had finished filming and was expected to be released on May 1st.
Her heart skipped a beat when she heard that. She asked Jaden, "Is Zayn planning to continue acting?"
Jaden nodded. "He's already accepted two roles. They're both minor roles, and he'll start work after Christmas."
Luna was secretly delighted. "Does he still need acting training?"
Jaden said with certainty, "Very much.
"He signed up for the acting class as soon as he returned. Every day, he practices the basics of performing with some art school candidates in their teens."
Luna smiled. "My parents are very busy with work. They usually only stay at home for two to three days during Christmas. I'm planning to come to Kitmore City after the first day of Christmas. If Zayn is okay with it, I can help him out with his acting then."
After saying that, she felt that she had exposed her intentions and quickly added, "What I want in return is the same as before. Your family will make me a meal every day."
Jaden said without hesitation, "Sure, I can cook whatever you want."
Luna let out a warm smile. "I'll return to my hometown on Christmas Eve. Before that, I'll also have time to guide Zayn."
Back at Kitmore City, Joy, who was busy at the computer, suddenly received a call from her mother.
Nellie said, "Joy, Mommy has arrived at Kitmore City. I'm at Donovan's Restaurant now. Hurry over and come eat with me."
'Donovan's Restaurant?' Joy's eyelids twitched, but her voice was still filled with joy.
"Mom, why didn't you tell me earlier that you're in Kitmore City so that I could pick you up from the airport? Let me tell you, Donovan's Restaurant only makes home-cooked dishes. I'm tired of eating that at school. I'll take you to another restaurant."
"You're tired of it, but I can't stop thinking about it," Nellie said with a big smile. "I've been overseas for so many years. After trying all sorts of food, nothing beats home-cooked food from my hometown.
"I've asked around. Donovan's Restaurant's home-cooked dishes are top-notch locally. Those who have tried them can't stop singing their praises. I purposely got someone to line up for me and finally got a private room.
"Hurry up and come over. Today's the last day they are open before Christmas. The restaurant is going to close for a couple of days starting from tomorrow."
"Mom, I live too far from Donovan's Restaurant," Joy coughed lightly. "and I'm having a cold. I shouldn't be going out in this condition. After you're done eating, ask the driver to-"
Before Joy could finish speaking, she heard a "Huh?" from the other end of the phone. "I saw a beautiful girl who looks very much like you," Nellie said in shock.
