A few days later, the crew of High Mountain was back to the busy filming. Jaden also returned to live in Oxhorn Village. Athena and Josie were back in school.
Everyone in the Donovan family was busy. They no longer had the leisure of the holidays.
At the beginning of March, Joshua returned. Although he had lost some weight, he was in good spirits. He successfully passed the thesis defense and obtained his bachelor's degree certificate.
As for the Demon Mentor, Rhett, he got fired by the school, lost all his jobs, and was brought to court by dozens of victims. He was about to receive a just trial.
The Donovan family happily held a welcoming banquet for Joshua.
At the dining table, Joshua did not mention his mentor had plagiarized his paper. Joshua only said that when he went to get his bachelor's degree certificate, he found out that a graduate mentor he knew was a demon who had secretly plagiarized the research results of many students and finally suffered retribution.
"Unfortunately, I didn't meet the legendary Professor Day." Joshua looked regretful. "All the team members of Professor Day, who won the Nobel Prize in Physics twice, have reappeared, except for Professor Day."
Arthur asked as he ate with relish, "Is Professor Day good?"
"Yeah, she's awesome," Joshua said respectfully. "She was the first to discover the existence of the wormhole.
"She captured the huge energy and fluctuations when the wormhole appeared. Although this wormhole appeared and disappeared for less than 0.0001 seconds, it was the first time humans observed and confirmed the existence of the wormhole. It provides the possibility for humans to achieve interstellar travel..."
He spoke nonstop as if he knew everything. "Her team won the first Nobel Prize in Physics for this discovery.
"Her second breakthrough was the direct observation of dark matter, from which she won the second Nobel Prize in Physics..."
Most of them did not understand, but it did not stop them from thinking that Priscilla was great.
Arthur asked curiously, "You've never been a fan of celebrities. Why would you want to meet Professor Day so much?"
Joshua said, "Professor Day never shows up. Even at the Nobel Prize Awards, she never showed up. Her team always received the award on her behalf.
"Even more mysteriously, she refused to provide information about her identity. The world only knows her as a lady.
"Normally, the Nobel Prize winner has to provide identification, but she's an exception..."
For some reason, when everyone heard that, they subconsciously looked at Athena, as if she would become an amazing scientist like Priscilla.
Joshua said, "One day, I must see her and ask for her autograph."
Athena nodded silently as she ate, knowing Joshua's dream would come true.
After dinner, Athena received a call from Matthew right after she returned to her room.
Matthew's voice was low. "Miss Donovan, I want to tell you some bad news."
Athena's heart sank, and she wondered, 'Is he sick? Injured? Or Is he in a career crisis? Or did anything happen to his family?'
Athena calmed herself. "What is it?"
At that moment, Matthew was standing by the floor-to-ceiling window. He had one hand crossed over his chest and the other holding his phone. He looked down at the huge and dazzling city below him. "Anabel was suddenly transferred to the Valemont City branch as the general manager. She just arrived this morning. I only received the news today."
"What?" Athena exclaimed. "It's so sudden?"
The state-owned enterprise Anabel had worked for was one of the top comprehensive heavy industry groups domestically. It could be said to be Osceiton's most advanced heavy equipment. If the company listed and participated in the Fortune Global 500, it would rank top.
Those who wanted to be an executive in such a company would have powerful connections and excellent personal abilities.
If Matthew were to act against Anabel, Anabel would be an opponent for him.
"Yeah, it just happened out of the blue," Matthew said seriously. "Strictly speaking, it's a demotion that Anabel came to the Valemont City branch to work as a general manager. She must have other reasons for doing so.
"I suspect she's after me. I don't want any personal entanglements with her, but now that she's transferred to Valemont City, I'll have a lot of business interaction with her.
"These exchanges are likely to involve personal matters. I'm going to avoid her."
Athena said softly, "I understand, so what do you plan to do?"
