Luna said with a complicated tone, "That year, I officially celebrated my tenth anniversary in the entertainment industry. I also attended the Voss Movie Festival and was nominated for the Best Actress Award.
"Before the nominee announcement, I was the trending topic. Local media outlets stated I displayed great acting skills. They also believed it was my best performance since my debut and was worthy of the Best Actress Award nomination. I was very confident in my performance."
Luna was a child star and officially debuted at the age of 15.
In her debut year, she was cast as the female lead in her first-ever movie. It was called "Femme Fatale." She eventually became famous overnight and won the Best Actress Award at the most prestigious Voss Movie Festival.
When she was 18 years old, she attended the Shimder Festival. She won the Best Actress Award, becoming the youngest Best Actress Award winner at the three biggest movie festivals in Uroterin.
Since then, Luna has won more Best Actress awards and several others, including the Best Supporting Actress Award and the Fan Favorite Award, making her the most decorated actress in the country.
Athena recalled how Luna's downfall started four years ago when she lost at the Voss Film Festival.
Luna said faintly, "I was in the limelight during that period. I was looking forward to a glorious win and becoming Zolin's first two-time Best Actress Award winner at Uroterin's three biggest film festivals.
"However, no one expected... Rosa Jay's appearance out of nowhere.
"No one had ever heard of her. She won the Voss Best Actress Award for her first-ever movie, receiving overwhelming votes.
"At that moment, I understood the saying 'the higher you climb, the harder you fall...'"
That loss made Luna a laughingstock in the industry.
Her rivals and competitors kept posting rude statements online to mock her.
Luna suffered a huge blow and was not in the right state of mind for the rest of the movie. Her performance was not ideal, and it attracted a lot of criticism.
Then, she fell into a terrifying vicious circle. Each of her movies after that failed, and she gradually lost her confidence and suffered from depression.
Athena looked at Luna. "I've never seen Joy's movies. I don't know if she's still an actress, but she does know how to act. At least in life."
Luna smiled and did not dwell on the past. "The movie Joy won an award for was called 'Gifted.' It was adapted from a Nobel Prize-winning novel but was banned in many countries because of its bold and unorthodox concepts. It never showed locally, and that's why it's not as famous."
She paused slightly. "I've watched her movie. There was no sign of her excellent acting skills. I gave up trying to figure her out.
"But, she disappeared after that. No one knows what she is working on."
Athena nodded. "From what you said, it seems I really have to go and see that movie."
Luna smiled. "Before I accepted the role in 'High Mountain,' my goal was to be part of a big movie directed by the Movie Maestro.
"This movie has a budget of 160 million dollars. The script is exceptional and will have the best crew on set. The female lead goes through a complicated life journey and displays both good and evil characteristics. She's a highly controversial and charismatic character. I really wanted that role.
"After my audition, the Movie Maestro said he felt I was too famous and wouldn't successfully evoke enough mystery and novelty in the character. Moreover, the female lead was 18, so he was more inclined to choose a younger and more talented new actor.
"I heard that he chose an 18-year-old rookie who had lived abroad since she was young.
"I asked around and found out it was Rosa Jay."
