The report was from eight years ago. The content was roughly like this.
In Kitmore High School, the sophomore, Zayn Donovan from Class Two, was gloomy and not much of a talker. He had a long-standing crush on his classmate, Elsie Morin, the cheerleader. However, Elsie was focused on her studies and did not respond to Zayn's closeness and feelings.
Zayn secretly followed Elsie and found that Elsie often went home with Ben York from the same school. Zayn was jealous.
On Saturday night, Elsie rehearsed the Independence Day Gala till late. Zayn offered to escort Elsie home, and Elsie agreed.
On the way home, Elsie met Ben and the others. Ben said they could walk Elsie home and told Zayn to go home first. Elsie also said she didn't need Zayn to escort her home, but Zayn refused and had a conflict with Ben.
Amidst the argument, Zayn impulsively took out a knife and stabbed it at Ben. When Ben was snatching the knife, the knife accidentally cut Zayn's arm. Zayn completely lost control and stabbed the knife into Ben's abdomen.
Ben was seriously injured, but not only did Zayn refuse to apologize and compensate, but he also said the knife belonged to Ben and that Ben stabbed him first. While Zayn was snatching the knife, other boys came to help Ben, causing Ben to bump into the blade in the chaos.
However, Elsie and the three boys present could testify that what Ben said was true and that Zayn was lying. At last, Zayn dropped out of school because of the accident, leaving a stain on his life.
At the end of the news report, it advised high school students to study hard and not fall in love at a young age.
After reading it, Athena told Matthew, "Sorry, I don't want to watch the movie now. I want to deal with Zayn's matter."
Matthew also finished reading the news and nodded. "Alright, we'll watch it next time."
Then, he asked, "Is there anything you need me to do?"
Athena shook her head. "Not for the time being. I can handle this kind of thing."
Matthew waited for a few seconds. Seeing Athena had no intention of asking him to stay, he said, "Then I should get going now."
Athena waved her hand. "Okay, I'll call you when I'm done."
Matthew suppressed the disappointment in his heart and said politely, "Then, goodbye, Miss Donovan."
He turned around and walked out of the crowd. He did not leave immediately. Instead, he entered a dark corner and continued to watch.
Athena squeezed through the crowd as she made a call. She walked to Zayn and said indifferently, "Ma'am, I'm Mr. Donovan's assistant. I've contacted Mr. Donovan's lawyer, Mr. Ryan Marshall, regarding your accusation.
"Ryan will produce strong evidence to prove Mr. Donovan's innocence. I hope you can quickly get a lawyer. We'll see you in court then."
Those words were like cold water poured into boiling oil, causing quite a stir.
The discussion and noise at the scene could almost overturn the mall.
"The news has reported it. This woman dares to take responsibility for her words. It doesn't sound like it's fake. However, Zayn dares to get a lawyer and even go to court. It doesn't seem he's lying. It's difficult to judge."
"Compared to the news in the newspaper, I believe in the statement in the court more. I'll be on Zayn's side."
"Nowadays, I've seen too many people sadfishing and playing the victim. I don't believe anyone who doesn't dare to go to court..."
"You guys are too naive! Zayn is a newbie in the industry. To take on such an important role in a big production and be brought around by the director, he has a backer behind the scenes! It's not a problem for the connections behind him to crush ordinary people..."
Compared to the onlookers, the voices of the reporters and media were different.
