It had only been a few days since Athena returned from the countryside.
Athena bumped into Archie again on campus.
She didn't see Archie at first.
It was Archie, who spotted her. He quickly ran over and stood in front of her. He smiled and said, "Athena, it's been a while since I saw you. You've become even prettier. I've missed you so much."
Athena didn't like how Archie was being all buddy-buddy with her.
She was disgusted by his words. "Stop your goo-goo nonsense," She took out a high-concentration insecticide, "or I'll make sure you stop for good."
"Come on, don't be like this. It's not like I'm going to force you into anything." Archie took a few steps back, took out his face mask, and put it on. "Listen to me first and see what I have to offer you before you decide if you want to spray me with that thing."
Athena looked at him peevishly.
'Why am I always bumping into cuckoo men?' she grumbled in her head.
Archie quickly added the details. "Isn't your father the general manager of a very small real estate company called Bard Property?
"The company is in the third phase of its development now and is preparing to move on to the fourth and final phase. It requires a lot of loans.
"However, the company has already loaned about 100 million dollars for the third phase. It's going to be a tough task to get another 100-million-dollar loan again.
"With that being said, I can help your father out with this 100 million dollars with my capability and connections.
"Seeing what I'm ready to provide, it should be worth it for you to be my girlfriend, right?"
Archie didn't dare to meddle with Joy as she seemed to be a couple with Matthew. That was why he tried his luck with Athena.
He didn't believe that Athena could be so saintly to disregard the bulk of fortune that was about to fall on her.
Athena was so tempted to roll her eyes right in front of Archie, but she held back and squeezed a smile. "It's a family matter, and there's nothing for you to worry about."
Athena believed that her family knew how to deal with stuff like this, and they didn't need her to oversee their every move.
Athena didn't ask much about how Bard Property was doing. She knew that the second phase had been successfully delivered long ago, the third phase had almost reached ten stories, the designs and blueprints for the fourth phase had already been approved and the company was currently laying the foundation and progressing smoothly with it.
If the company had difficulties with the loan, she would let Harry and Rufus handle it. Archie was in no position to tell her what to do.
"You're the person I care about the most. Of course, your family's problems are mine too." Archie was a natural at saying such mushy things. He never felt ashamed. "I meant every word I said, and I won't go back on my word."
After saying that, he glanced back toward his car and sneered. "You know Gia. She's my new girlfriend.
"Do you remember that her family wanted to develop that piece of land in the east of the city? They needed at least a billion dollars in capital, but Kennedy Group is a shell corporation. The bank would never lend them money.
"Meaning, there were only two ways for the Kennedy family to raise money. One was to seek cooperation with the Harper family, the Murray family, the Randolph family, and other large companies to fork out a portion of the funds together; the other way was to find a reliable guarantor and persuade the bank to take out a loan.
"Now that the Harper family and Murray family are in decline and their assets have shrunk greatly. The banks won't trust them very much.
"As for The Randolph family, they aren't that close to the Kennedy family and refused to be the guarantor. They only promised the Kennedy family to participate in the development if a loan could be secured.
He then said proudly, "After Gia became my girlfriend, not only did I participate in the development of that land, but I also asked my father to come forward and ask the companies under Graham Group to be the guarantor for Kennedy Group.
"Kennedy Group received a large loan from the bank because of this. They have already prepared the land in the east of Prool City. They're going to build a high-end residential district.
