"Let me finish what I'm saying," Tina said, her arm sliding through the window to stop him from closing it. "This book is extremely popular, a major hit, and I personally reviewed the script. The production team is the best in the industry."
Zayn paused, shaking his head. "I have no interest in this script or this role. You should try looking for someone else."
Tina was persistent. "The pay is negotiable, you can name your price."
Zayn replied, "No matter how high the pay is, I won't take a role I'm not interested in."
However, Tina was undeterred. "You can choose the female lead. Even the top trending actresses are fine."
Zayn said, "I'm in a rush, so please move aside and stop blocking my way to work."
Tina said, "Trust me, this character is very manly and charming. He's also a former soldier. He's patriotic and loves his family and his country. His love for the female lead isn't just about physical attraction or mutual needs, it's about something much grander..."
Zayn interrupted her once again, speaking earnestly, "You're a writer, and I've always thought writers read a lot, so they should be able to speak reasonably.
"I'm on my way to work and I've already turned you down. Yet you're still standing in front of my car—don't you think that's inappropriate?"
Tina stared at him speechlessly.
'Fine, I've lost this time,' she thought. 'But I won't give up just like that.'
She quickly pulled out a book from her bag and stuffed it into the car. "This is my book, 'Beauty and the Boss'. Please make sure to read it when you have the time! Please believe me. You'll definitely like this character after watching it.
"Trust me, once you read it, you'll definitely love this character."
Zayn looked at the book with the fancy cover, shook his head, and rolled up the window.
"Zayn, you really have to read it!" Tina yelled. "I've already secretly written the ending. If you agree to play Victor, I'll tell you how it ends."
Zayn heard her, but he had no intention of reading the book.
He was a science fanatic and could not bring himself to read something like this.
Tina puffed up her cheeks, adjusted her thick glasses, and muttered, "I live right across from your house. If I don't get you to accept this role, I'll quit writing romance novels!"
As she walked away, she grumbled, "Expecting him to read the book on his own, fall for the male lead, and then decide to play this character is just not realistic.
"I have to understand his likes, dislikes, and his weaknesses before I can convince him.
"It's difficult for me to meet him. After all, he's a big star who's constantly flying between sets.
"Since I don't have a chance to see him, I'll start with his family and understand what kind of person he is."
Just then, she saw the gate of the Donovan family villa open.
A young girl in casual clothes and running shoes stepped out, looking energetic and clean-cut.
Tina adjusted her glasses, a spark of excitement in her eyes.
She had heard that Zayn had a younger sister. 'This girl is coming out from the Donovan family's villa. Could she be Zayn's sister?' she thought.
'Oh well, doesn't matter. I'll get close to her first and see. Maybe I might be able to dig up information on Zayn.'
