                    Amelia's pov
I was surprised to see Dad outside, his arms crossed over his chest as he leaned against the humming vehicle. I winced. I hadn't told him about what I had done or the punishment. I frowned. The principal had called him after all.
Spotting me instantly he pushes off the vehicle, glaring down at me as I approach. " I thought we talked about this Amelia? And this time you messed with Raiden?"
I rolled my eyes, walking around the hood to the passenger's side. " He started it and he's an ass. Not because he's your boss's son doesn't mean I have to like him." I grumble under my breath as I settle in the seat, buckling up myself securely.
Dad sighed heavily as he buckled himself in, his expression tight with frustration and concern. " Amelia, you can't just go about and picking fights, especially not with Raiden. You don't have to like him but please don't look for any trouble."
My stare harden as I looked out the window and my eyes land on him across the parking lot. He's already staring at me with a glare that made me shiver. It wasn't a glare of hate but a glare that made me feel weird.
I rip my eyes away when dad started the vehicle. " He's a bully. I will always put a bully in his or her place."
Silence fell over us and I am grateful. We sit in that uncomfortable silence until we got home and Dad made an excuse for working late tonight so it was just me at home, eating the....cold too salty macaroni he prepared earlier.
It was late, around 9:30 p.m. to be exact and dad just texted me that he won't be home tonight and I should make sure I lock up everywhere because there's an alert that a thunder storm is approaching.
I looked out the kitchen window, making a yelping sound when a sudden flash of lightning illuminated the entire room and then a rumble of thunder follows straight after. I gripped my phone hard, pushing away the plate of cold macaroni.
I hated any kind of storm. I let out a puff of air, ruffling my hair to relax my nerves. Great, the day I need Dad here the most he's not here.
A buzz on my phone made my glare flick down to catch his last message.
Dad: Stay safe Amelia.
I sighed, moving off the stool to wander over to the living room and flipped on the television for a distraction from the brewing storm outside. Ten minutes later and the wind had picked up, howling harshly against the windows.
A merciless crack of lightning strikes inside the room followed by a loud rumble of thunder that I swore shook the entire house. I gripped the small little throw pillow and tucked it in my arms, hugging it as the thunder begin to rumble louder.
The sound of the rain intensified outside and as I looked out the window, the intensity of the storm made me shiver nervously. I bit my lip, standing up as I figure I should probably close the curtains to prevent the lightning from affecting my eyes.
As I stood up to close the curtains, another flash of lightning struck over me. I gasp, closing it shut just as a knock sounds at the front door. I freeze, my mind racing. Who could it be? Dad said he'd not be home tonight. And he also had his own keys...unless he forgot it.
Taking a deep breath as another knock sounds at the door, I tiptoed to the front door. The storm that raged outside only added to my unease and as I stood just a few inches from the door I stopped.
Only to almost leap out of my own skin when another sharper, more impatient knock comes through. I took a shaky breath and leaned forward, looking through the peephole. When I see him my heart slams against my chest hard.
Raiden?
I blinked. I must be seeing someone else. There's no way Raiden is standing on my front porch, soaking wet from the rain.
I swallowed. What can he possibly be doing here in this kind of weather? The better question is, why was he here in the first place?
