Honestly now, life feels fucking perfect.
In such little time, I feel better than ever. I'm away from dad, and living with my best friend. I'll get a job soon once I'm caught up with school and healing my body completely. I'm even talking again. I have three new friends. And one friend is more than a friend.
I had my first fucking kiss last night, might I add. And once again, I thought people were dramatic about it all, but it was pretty fucking great.
I'm just scared everything will come crashing down on me soon, because that's how my life goes.
But now we're all sitting on the beach down by the boardwalk again, having plenty of fun, so I push away those worries and actually enjoy life while I have the chance to.
I lean against Adrian, enjoying the warmth he provides as it's chilly today. I watch Divine and Ashton chasing each other like children up and down the beach, splashing water at each other even though I'm sure the water's freezing.
Danny plops down beside us again, groaning. "This isn't fair," he complains.
"What isn't fair?" Adrian asks him.
"This," he motions to me and Adrian then Divine and Ashton. "Everyone has someone and now I'm the fifth wheel."
"Sorry?" Danny scoffs at Adrian, eating his pretzel he had gotten on the boardwalk a little while ago.
"Didn't you say something about a new kid at school the other day?" I ask Danny, still getting a very happy look as they're all still getting used to me actually talking now, feeling Adrian kiss my head.
"Oh, yeah. Noah something, I forget his last name. He's really cute. He's a sophmore." I nod, remebreing him telling me all of this the other day now.
"And again, I don't see why you wouldn't just go over and talk to him like Ashton had been telling you too." I smile rembering how Adrian had been exposed then, 'Don't be the next Adrian.'
"Because, you two give horrible dating advice. Look at you Adrian, only just now with Liv after she knows that you were stalking her when y'all could have been together months and months ago." I laugh as Adrian's quick to jump in, saying he wasn't stalking, just observing.
"Y'all," Adrian mocks the slight country accent that had came from Danny.
"Oh shut it. Not my fault I wasn't born in the city like y'all." He curses when his country side comes out again and I giggle.
"Really? Where are you from?" I ask Danny, knowing I still have plenty to learn about Danny and Ashton unlike Adrian.
"He's from Texas," Adrian tells me in a horrible, very extra country accent as I laugh, Danny flipping him off.
"Sometimes I really wish mom hadn't moved us to North Carolina, to some city, so I never had to meet you and Ashton," he tells Adrian. "Olivia though, you and Divine are fine. So glad she did move us here just for you two."
"You're trying to flirt with our girls?" Ashton asks as he and Divine sit back down with us, her face flushed.
Our girls.
"Yep," is all Danny says as he horribly winks at me and Divine causing us all to laugh at him.
Adrian ends up going back up to the boardwalk, telling me to stay as he goes to buy us all something, he wouldn't tell me. Then once again, Divine and Ashton are chasing each other around the beach like little kids as you can tell they're practically in love, leaving me and Danny.
"You really like Adrian?" He asks suddenly, with somewhat of a disgusted look on his face that makes me laugh.
"Yes." My feelings that are so unfamiliar for this boy have only grown more over these last couple days since our little confession session on the beach. I may not be able to understand these feelings at all, but I do like this boy and I'm fine with that. He's amazing.
"Well, even if I think you're fucking crazy for liking him somehow, I'm happy-for the both of you. He's never liked a single person like this and you two are going to be damn perfect together. Or are you already dating? Either way, perfect." I smile at Danny, appreciating him. He's goofy as hell at times but really is a sweetheart.
It goes quiet between the two of us, watching as Ashton picks Divine up like nothing to throw her over her shoulder as she squeals to put her down. I glance at Danny and see how his smile fades slowly, making mine do the same.
"How're you feeling?" He asks suddenly, now letting me know why his smile faded.
"I'm feeling really good, Danny." And I'm glad that I'm actually able to tell the truth.
Then Adrian's plopping down beside us once again, five funnel cakes he was somehow able to manage to bring back. He hands me mine with the strawberry topping, making me grin as he knows that's my favorite and I thank him over and over.
Divine and Ashton come back over, thankful for the funnel cakes too as we all eat and talk about random shit. There's always something to talk about somehow for us five.
Two girls walk over to us though, and at first I thought they were going to be friendly, but I should've known better.
"Hey boys," the brunette girl says, her friend standing behind her as if she doesn't want to be here.
No one says anything for a moment, until Adrian decides to. "Hi?"
"Me and my friend here-" Her friend tries to cut her off, mumbling something about not wanting to do this, but she continues anyway. "Thought you were cute..." She's looking directly at Adrian, and I frown, not liking this. "So I was wondering if I could get your number?"
"Uh, no thanks. Sorry..." She seems offended and I grin, laying my head on his shoulder as I finish my funnel cake happily.
She moves her head to Danny as he's finishing his own funnel cake, scrolling through his phone so he doesn't even realize. "Hey you..." Hey you? Okay then... she's not going to like being let down by Danny too I assume from how she's acting.
"Me?" He looks up, confused as he looks at her, Ashton chuckling.
"Yeah. You're cute... how about I have your number and we can go out sometime?" She's so bold-I could never.
"I uh... I'm gay?" He flat out tells her and her face flushes, muttering an apology but still seeming offended for some fucking reason as she turns her head to Ashton.
This poor girl is going to be rejected by all three of the guys.
"Okay... what about-" Ashton cuts her off before she can even finish what she's saying.
"I'm sorry but... you're not really my type and I'm kind of not available for that," Ashton flat out tells her, wrapping his arm around Divine.
She scoffs, really seeming offended now. I lean further into Adrian as he does the same as Ashton, wrapping an arm around my shoulders and keeping me close. She glares at me for some fucking reason so I glare right back, waiting for whatever it is she has to say.
"Seriously? You like her?" She tells Adrian, pointing at me as I try to get myself to say something to stand up for myself when she has no reason to not like me but I'm not to that point yet-talking to people I don't even know, I mean. "She eats like a fucking slob."
I lift my hand, only now realizing the strawberry topping and powdered sugar all around my mouth again just like yesterday but I shrug, not even caring. Sorry for enjoying my food?
"Okay? And? That's hot as hell." My face flushes at Adrian's words, but I enjoy her scoff again, seeing her pissed.
"Don't even get me started on me not being your type but she is?" She says to Ashton, talking about Divine as his jaw clenches.
"What the hell did I do?" Divine asks, confused and annoyed at once.
She's really causing a scene because she was rejected. I understand if she gets upset, but now this is just annoying as hell. She looks at Danny next and I get scared of whatever she has to say to him.
"Don't you dare say a thing to him," Ashton says before she has a chance to say anything, all of us knowing it wasn't going to be anything good. "Walk away, please. You know what, no not please. Just do it."
I hate people like her.
"Whatever." She scoffs, dragging her friend away with her. But not before she looks at Adrian once again as I hold back a groan. "I'll be at the boardwalk if you change your mind," she says in such a fake sweet voice.
"Yeah, I'll think about it," Adrian replies in a fake voice too, as she actually believes it and smiles. Until he calls back, "Never." We all just shake our heads and laugh at her ridiculousness.
I look up at Adrian, grinning. "I'm hot?" I remember him saying that just merely minutes ago, face flushed once again.
"You're everything and more." I smile as he kisses me on the lips, as I kiss him back, feeling those damn butterflies.
"Fucking PDA oh my god!" Danny groans, standing up as I look over only to see Divine pulling away from Ashton, laughing. Oh my god they just kissed too? "You're all absolutely disgusting."
"Calm down Danny. You know damn well if you had a boyfriend you'd be doing it too." Danny thinks for a moment, then shrugs, knowing it's true and we all laugh.
"You're all still gross, PDA," he repeats as he stalks away to god knows where.
It's past midnight but we're all still up, having a movie marathon. We've watched all the old comedies and Sean plays another one, closing the DVD player as the menu screen for That's My Boy pops up. I swear, any movie with Adam Sandler I could watch over and over.
"I'm making more popcorn. Anyone want anything?" Sean asks us all, looking and sighing at us.
"I know right," Danny says, seeing me and Adrian cuddled up on one side of the couch and then Divine and Ashton from his spot on the other sofa with Sean. "They make me feel lonely."
"Yeah... I shouldn't be feeling lonely thanks to teenagers," Sean mutters as he makes his way to the kitchen and I laugh into Adrian's chest.
"I'll take a beer to drown in my loneliness?" Danny calls as Adrian shakes his head at him.
"Definitely not," Sean yells back quickly, muttering something about how he'll take a beer though himself.
"When we go back to school Wednesday, you go talk to that boy Noah and see what'll happen so you stop complaining," Ashton tells Danny and that earns him the middle finger.
We all decide to go to bed around 3am finally, as I end up in Adrian's room and Ashton with Divine.
I watch as Adrian takes his shirt off, not caring if I see, changing into another to sleep in as I steal his hoodie off the edge of his bed. His hoodies are the best. And might I add, Adrian is so damn pretty.
He flips the light switch off, leaving us with just the moonlight as the curtains stay open to give us a view out to the beach. He jumps into bed, his arms coming around me as he pulls me as close as possible.
"Do you want to go on another date when we go home?" He asks sleepily. "I'm going to tell my mom once I get home, about us, so I know she'll want to meet you and all that shit. Have dinner then?"
"That sounds great," I say as I turn around in his arms, facing his beautiful face. Even though I'm sort of nervous to meet his mom. Sean, Adrian's dad, is really nice and when I met him me and Adrian hadn't even confessed anything to each other-so of course I'm nervous about his mom but either way I want to meet her.
And thank her for having the best damn son ever.
"Good." He kisses my lips once more, eyes already closing as he drifts to sleep quickly, keeping me close still even then.
I could get used to nights like this.
