"Can I have the aux?" Danny asks from the back of the van-moms van. She told me to drive it on our little road trip to my dads again, as she said she'll just use my car over the weekend, so all six of us could go together without dad having to take one of us, or a couple as our friend group has three couples now.
"Absolutely not." I know damn well if Danny has the aux, he'll turn on a terrible song and sing even worse to it. Then Noah will. Then Olivia. Hell, Ashton and Divine might join too.
"You are no fun," Danny whines.
"We're stopping to get food in a minute anyways, calm down." Olivia just laughs and shakes her head as she looks out the window, enjoying the usual arguments.
"Oh, okay, good." I knew that'd make Danny happy. Well, food makes me happy too, so whatever.
After the first week back to school after the three week winter break, all of us needed another break already, even if this week was just three days. It never makes sense why they send us back to school on a Wednesday. But anyways, the two day weekend is the best we get.
Dad made a plan for us to go down to his house again, like we did months ago. It'd be funner if it was the summer, so we could swim and not freeze our asses off near the beach but it's okay. There's a hot tub at least?
The only good parts of school now are the fact that me and Olivia have a free period together to do whatever-well, it's recommended to use the period to study, but whatever. We usually read together, or just talk, sometimes kiss where we won't get in trouble.
We've become the couple we'd gag at when they showed such PDA. It's okay though, because damn it's amazing.
The only other good part is Lexi; she hasn't even spared a glance to Olivia or me or any of our friends. I've seen her around, catching her crooked nose. It's a little bruised still, but looks fine now. Olivia's knuckles are completely fine now also.
"Where are we eating?" I ask them all as I pull into a new city, finding plenty of restaurants to choose from.
"McDonald's!" I should've known Danny would say that.
"I want pizza..." Ashton speaks up from the very back, Divine agreeing.
"Liv?" She looks over at me, thinking for a moment, until she sees a Subway and I know that's where she wants to go. "Guess we're all going to different places, there's some pizza place across the street Ashton."
I park at the McDonald's for Danny and Noah, the Subway just being next to it. We all agree to meet back up by eight, it's nearing seven now, saying bye for the hour as we all pretty much go on separate dates, Danny said.
I order mine and Olivia's sandwiches, seeing she's too nervous to speak up to the complete stranger, getting us some cokes too. She tries to pay but I stop her, not allowing that.
"I have to pay sometimes at least, come on." I shake my head with a grin at her, walking over to a table with the drinks and sandwiches.
"Nope, not when I'm around." She rolls her eyes as she sits across from me, looking fucking gorgeous as usual. She has on one of my hoodies, not surprising, with some black jeans on and her hair just down. Such a simple look yet put her in a fashion show right now and she'd win it without a doubt.
"Speaking of money, kinda." She shrugs, digging into her Italian sandwich. "I'm thinking of applying for a job at the grocery store by school. I need a job, like yesterday. I heard they're desperate, so it kind of means I'm guaranteed a job. At least I hope."
"Are you ready for that?" I don't mean it in a rude way, just worrying because I know how hard it is for her to talk sometimes and her anxiety, the flashbacks she sometimes gets randomly.
"I think so... I'll talk it over with mom and go to at least a couple more therapy sessions so I can really prepare myself." I nod, so proud of how much progress she's made.
"I'm proud of you." I feel the need to always make sure she knows that, especially when she smiles so much every single time.
We talk a little bit more about the job and school and our friends before we finish the sandwiches, seeing it's almost eight and heading back to my car, or moms van but my car for the weekend. Shockingly, all our friends actually followed our agreement and came back at eight, no one complaining that they're hungry anymore.
Olivia texts her mom as I start driving again, having another hour at least before we get to my dads, letting her mom know she and Noah are alive just as Divine does the same with Admira. Admira wasn't as hesitant last time, but Olivia's mom and Mason were. Admira had to convince them they'd be fine, after the first trip a couple months ago.
Everyone ends up falling asleep, leaving me annoyed with some of the snores and sleep talk, Olivia being the only quiet one. She just moves in her sleep a lot. When I pull into dad's driveway, I feel so relieved. I hate driving for that long.
"Liv, baby." I barely tap her shoulder as I pull out my phone to text dad that we're here and she jumps awake, looking scared and confused. I hate waking her up because it's always like that. "It's okay, we're just here, at my dads."
"Oh... okay." She nods, rubbing her eyes from sleep.
"I'm gonna wake them up," I tell her in warning, not caring if I scare the shit out of everyone else. "Wake up, idiots!" Each and every one of them jerks awake, cursing me out.
"Jesus Christ I heard that out here." Dad scares me next, opening my door unexpectedly with a sympathetic look on his face for my friends.
"That's what you get," Danny mutters, still upset that I ruined his sleep. Olivia's grinning in her seat, enjoying it all.
"Welcome back, kids." Dad smiles at us all, as if we didn't just see him the other day because him and mom have attachment problems. Me and Olivia do too, that's probably where we get it from, at least me.
"You guys have plans tonight?" Dad asks as he walks us all inside after we'd all gathered our bags. "It's getting late already, but I don't know."
"We didn't use the hot tub last time we were all here so that sounds nice tonight." Everyone goes upstairs to the rooms, there being enough thankfully.
"Sounds fine with me. Work kicked my ass today, so now that I don't need to wait on you guys, I'm going to sleep. We'll do stuff tomorrow." He pats my back and I nod.
"Okay, dad." I resist calling him old just for the hell of it.
"Jesus, I have six kids-three couples-to watch over." He shakes his head like he'd made a mistake. "Everyone needs to keep their doors open, okay? Or at least be safe. If anyone needs-"
"No, dad, door's will stay open." I do not need him having another fucking talk about protection. "I promise."
"Okay." That's enough for dad. "Goodnight, son, love you."
"Love you too." He walks past me, just as I follow him upstairs to everyone else. Me and Olivia take my room, obviously, Danny and Noah taking the one he and Ashton were in last time, Ashton and Divine taking the last one her and Olivia slept in for not even a night.
I smile at the memories of the first time we came here, when me and Olivia went on our first date, had our first kiss, confessed all our feelings, when she first actually talked. It was amazing, and now our relationship is even better.
Dad gives everyone his warning about needing to keep the doors open, while also telling us to stay quiet so he can sleep, and to also not steal any of his beer as if we're not teenagers who can only handle alcohol.
"You wanna go in the hot tub?" I ask Olivia as I try to find some swimming shorts somewhere in my closet. I have to have some somewhere, dad lives on a fucking beach.
"I-I didn't bring a bathing suit or something..." She types on her phone, texting who I assume is her mom as Divine walks in, hearing what Liv said.
"I brought some shorts for us both." Divine hands over a pink pair of shorts, forgetting a bathing suit.
"What about a top?" Olivia seems to worry.
"I was just going to wear a sports bra." Divine shrugs as I find my swim shorts finally, turning to Olivia. Olivia nods, taking the shorts, just staring at them as Divine walks out.
"What's wrong, baby?" She turns her back to me, not making any moves to go to the bathroom to change into the shorts.
"Nothing. I just..." She shrugs, sitting down on the bed. "It's stupid."
"It's not stupid if it's upsetting you." I sink to my knees in front of her on the ground, holding her hands on her lap. "What is it?"
"There's still s-scars all over my body from dad." My heart aches, once again wanting to kill her dad. "The shorts are fine I guess, I don't wanna wear them but I don't wanna wear pants in a hot tub either. But everything else? I could wear a shirt but I'd look like an idiot while the rest of you-"
"You will not." I take her face in my hands, frowning as her eyes gloss over. "If wearing a shirt will make you comfortable with this, then you do just that. But scars or no scars, you're fucking beautiful. No one will say anything if you wear a shirt or if you don't and your scars are visible. They only show how fucking strong you are."
"I just hate being reminded. I don't like my... Like... I'm okay with what I look like, with my body, it's just the scars. I can't stand them." She traces over the scars on her wrists that are faded now, no recent ones at all, her arms then wrapping around her body. "All they do is remind me of what happened."
"They represent what you survived, baby, how strong you are. I know it's hard, but one day you'll get to only using them as battle scars." I wipe the tear that rolls down her cheek, happy as she nods and smiles at me, grabbing the shorts.
"Can I still borrow a shirt in case?" she asks quietly.
"Of course you can." I kiss her head, going back to my closet. I lay a shirt on the bed as she goes to the bathroom, going to one of the hall closets with all the beach towels.
I give everyone a towel, going back to my room to find Olivia on the bed, ready. She's wearing the pink shorts, and a sports bra, her hair up in a bun now, but her knees are pulled up to her chest, as if she's trying to figure out if she wants a shirt or not.
"Can I have a towel?" she speaks up. I nod, handing her one and frowning when she wraps it around herself right away. "I'm ready."
"Okay." I change into my shorts real quick, hearing everyone else already going downstairs. When I come out of the bathroom, Olivia's waiting on me, her towel still wrapped around her. She seems happier with the idea of getting in the hot tub than she was just minutes ago, at least.
I take her hand in mine, walking us downstairs quietly as I already hear dads snores. Hopefully I won't have to put a pillow over his face like I have other times. We walk outside, finding everyone else already having the hot tub started and are in it. It's a decent size one, so there would be more than six people if we had other friends.
"Ready?" I step in, everyone distracted as they talk about some new album coming out soon, I don't know, watching as Olivia shivers but doesn't make a move to take the towel off.
She sits on the edge, holding the towel tightly around her, instead, dipping her legs in. No one says anything thankfully, understanding it seems, resuming their conversation.
"Liv-" Before I can ask if she's okay, she drops the towel, getting all the way in. I smile along with everyone else, proud of her. Even if she keeps her arms wrapped around herself, it's a step. And she's not shivering anymore from the cold.
"This is nice," she whispers to me, leaning into my arms.
"It is, isn't it?" I kiss her forehead, wrapping an arm around her shoulders to keep her close.
"Let's play uno!" Danny randomly says, making us all confused.
"Where the fuck did you get uno cards?" Ashton asks first.
"We're in a fucking hot tub? Someone's gonna drop their cards or something?" I state the obvious.
"Well, that's their fault and they'll be eliminated." Danny shrugs, shuffling cards.
"Whatever." We all agree with the game, wiping our hands dry and keeping them above water and Danny hands us cards, making us scoot away where he sits down the stack where we'll lay cards.
"Seriously? Again?" Danny complains when Ashton throws yet another draw four card down when Danny's next, who was so close to calling uno.
"Follow the rules, buddy." Ashton hands him four new cards, Danny sulking.
"This is not fair," he goes on as I take my turn, Olivia taking hers, then Noah. We've switched how we take turns each round-Ashton's won two rounds, Olivia won one, Divine won two also, Noah hasn't won any, along with me and Danny.
"As far as I'm concerned, we're all following the rules." Ashton shrugs with a smirk, being an asshole as he puts down a reverse card three times on Danny, getting rid of all his cards. "I've done it again."
"This game is rigged." Danny tosses his cards. It's a shocker that none of us have dropped our cards in the water, seriously.
"No... it's pretty fair," even Noah says.
"You're my boyfriend, you're supposed to agree with me." Danny frowns at Noah.
"Hey hey hey, don't be manipulating him," Ashton jokes, shuffling the cards again. He's actually enjoying this.
"I'm going to bed," Danny mumbles, getting out and immediately shivering as he dries off. It is almost past midnight now. Damn, time flew by.
"Don't I recall you being the one who wanted to play this?" Ashton calls after Danny.
"Whatever."
"Goodnight guys." Noah follows Danny, running as he curses many times about the cold. I don't want to ever get out now.
"Well..." Divine says, just four of us left.
"That was fun," Olivia says quietly, not knowing what else to say. In the last hours, she's finally stopped covering herself up, but I can tell she still wants to. She's also been quiet, only talking when spoken to.
"I love annoying Danny," Ashton states the next obvious as he puts the cards up.
"We've gathered that." Divine shakes her head at him.
Those two talk for a second, Ashton speaking up after. "We are gonna go to sleep also now."
"Okay, goodnight," me and Olivia both say, her and Divine talking for a few before they go.
"Now what?" Olivia asks with a smile, floating to the other side of the hot tub as we have a lot more room.
"Hmm..." I go to the same side as her, leaning down to kiss her.
"I'm turning into a prune, we should go in too," Olivia says against my lips.
"We should go in and dry off, then lay on the beach? Like we did the first time here?" She smiles brightly at that idea.
"Yes, absolutely." She doesn't cover up when she stands and also curses with the cold, grabbing her towel, too excited to care. I spot a few scars, but say absolutely nothing, frowning when I know how she got them.
We go upstairs together, using different bathrooms so we don't have to wait on each other, as we dry off and change into much warmer clothes. Warmer clothes for Olivia are, again, my hoodie and some of her sweatpants. I also wear a hoodie and sweats, taking her hand as I grab a fresh towel, leading us back outside after dealing with the hot tub.
The air is salty and cold as I lay down the towel not too close to shore but also close enough for Olivia to admire the waves like she did last time, doing just that as we sit down together.
"It's crazy to think just some months ago we were here, just like this, only then confessing our crushes on each other," Olivia says with a grin, leaning into my touch as I, as always, wrap an arm around her.
"We were both so nervous and flushing and... it was pretty great though," I say, remembering every detail. It's one of my best memories, my favorite. Most of my favorite memories now contain Olivia in them.
"We still get nervous and flush around each other, don't say that like we don't." I laugh with her, knowing that is very fucking true. My heart is beating erratically as we speak.
"Okay... but it was cute for us."
"It was," she agrees. It's quiet for a few minutes as we both recall the memory on our own.
"Thank you," Olivia says quietly, making me wonder.
"What for?" She looks up at me, smiling.
"For making your own spot in my life even when I didn't want you to at first." She's thanked me for this before. My hand brushes the hair out of her face.
"Stop thanking me for that." She shakes her head.
"You saved me, Adrian. Not just because we're dating, I'm not saying you saved me like that-I mean, you literally found me at my dads house just in time or I'd be dead right now." She rushes it all out, I frown. "You all saved me, really-Danny, Ashton, Divine, Noah. I wouldn't be here if you didn't finally get the courage to make your way into my life and bring your friends along, helping Divine put it all together. You also all showed me it does get better."
"Liv, baby-" She kisses me before I can say anything about it.
"I mean it. Thank you." I smile, also thanking myself for finally talking to her one day, even if I wish I had a lot sooner.
"I'd do anything for you." I kiss her next, happy as she turns and scoots to sit on my lap. "Anything."
"I want you forever," she says against my lips suddenly, my heartbeat speeding up at a not at all normal rate. "Forever, Adrian."
"I want you forever too, Olivia." She smiles down at me when she pulls away, holding my face in her hands.
"We'll keep each other forever, yeah?" She presses a soft kiss to my lips.
"Yes, we will." We both nod at the promise, knowing we won't ever break it. I just don't see that happening.
"I love you." She kisses me until I'm breathless this time.
"I love you too." I can hardly breathe as we kiss, but I don't care about air anymore. Her kisses are way fucking better than air. Air is overrated, kisses are underrated.
We kiss for what feels like forever but also not enough at all, but she shocks me this time when she's the one trailing kisses down my jaw and to my neck. Oh fuck. Olivia being the only girl I've ever kissed, it's all new feelings when she finds perfect spots along my neck to kiss.
"L-Liv, baby..." I trail off, resisting my own fucking moan as she kisses along my collarbone now, moving my hoodie aside to access me better. I love this side of her, so fucking much.
"Does that feel good?" She sounds like she's teasing me, but also genuinely asking so she knows.
"Fuck yeah." She giggles softly against my neck, for sure leaving hickeys I'll have to steal her makeup for to hide them. Or maybe I won't, I want everyone to know I'm hers just like she's mine.
She kisses my neck more, slowly making her way back to my lips. She slips her tongue against mine, and I groan, loving this more than I should. She threads her fingers through my hair, tugging and earning groans she seems to want as she keeps teasing me.
It's probably those damn books she reads.
I take my turn of teasing her, sliding my hands under her hoodie, sliding them up her back and finding that she's no longer wearing a bra at all. Oh, seriously, fuck. She keeps finding ways to tease me.
She copies me, sliding her hands under my shirt, taking her time tracing the little muscle I've got there. I'm not built but I'm also not lanky or something, I guess. I resist moving my hands away from her back and to somewhere else I'd love to feel right now, not knowing what she wants just yet.
But I figure it out when she grinds her hips against mine and moans into my mouth, my hands falling to her hips to keep her still even though just that felt way too fucking good.
"Can we go inside?" I nod right away, standing up and pulling her with me, taking the towel as we rush back excitedly to the house.
I throw the towel in the laundry basket with all the others, rushing up the stairs quietly with Olivia to my room. Divine and Ashton's door is closed, but Noah and Danny's is open. I shut mine and Olivia's. I'll open it and Ashton's before dad wakes up.
Olivia sits and I don't wait to kiss her, leaning down to pull her lips to mine, feeling very fucking needy, I don't care to admit it. I smile as she tugs at the hem of my shirt, wanting it off. I take it off, enjoying her flushed face as she admires me for a second before I push her back, laying her down on the bed.
This time, I kiss down her jaw and neck and push her hoodie aside at her collarbone, not caring if I leave hickeys or not as she seems to not care this time either. She lets out a few moans, making me happy with how I'm making her feel. All I want is to make her feel good.
"No, I want to hear you, baby." I take her hand when she tried covering her mouth, squirming beneath me. She smiles sloppily, seeming to have been taken over by lust, I can tell by her eyes.
I push her hoodie up after a few more kisses, just below where I desperately want to kiss instead, taking my time with her. She leans up on her elbows, knowing some of her scars are exposed.
"Adrian-" I kiss along a scar that goes along her rib cage, one I'd never seen even when she'd show me because of the bruises she'd have at those times. She falls back on the bed, not stopping me now as I kiss along every scar that's currently visible, wanting her to feel my love. "Adrian... Please, I need more."
I wanted to take my time, but I look up at her as I hook my fingers around her sweatpants, pulling them down the second she nods her permission. I wait on pulling her blue underwear down, feeling her yanking down my sweatpants when I move to kiss her lips again.
"You're so fucking beautiful," I murmur against her lips, feeling her smile.
"As if you have room to talk." I kiss her head, ready and also needing more now just as she does while I smile so damn much.
"Wait!" Olivia says before I can pull the rest of her clothing off. "Condom?"
"Fuck." I never expected us to be doing this yet so I don't have one.
"Shit. And I'm not on birth control or anything, we're not doing this without a condom." I nod, agreeing with her. I'm not taking any risks, none at all. I'm not ready to be a dad yet, as I'm sure she's not ready to be a mom.
"Wait..." I check the drawers on my nightstand, searching through everything they've collected with my stays, so fucking happy when I find a condom. My dad definitely put it in there once he found out I had a girlfriend, after his talk. For once, I'm thankful for such an embarrassing thing from a parent-condoms.
"Oh thank god." Olivia sighs happily, excited to continue this.
"It's our lucky day." I kiss her again, bringing back what we started, what she really started actually.
"I love you," she says before we go any further, kissing me with desperation as she's back to squirming, just as needy as me.
"I love you," I say back, pulling off her hoodie and fucking loving every second.
"Forever?" she asks, looking up at me with everything perfect-love, adoration, lust.
"For fucking ever, I promise." She smiles, kissing me once more before we have an amazing ass night.

"Absolutely not." I know damn well if Danny has the aux, he'll turn on a terrible song and sing even worse to it. Then Noah will. Then Olivia. Hell, Ashton and Divine might join too.
