As soon as Odahviing landed near the Lady Stone, Ammra immediately inspected the standing stone. After a few moments, grunted in annoyance as she found out the Lady Stone did not have what she sought. Without further ado, they headed to Reach where Lover Store was situated. Finding the same result, Ammra yelled in anger.
"DAMN! Why don't they just tell me where their power locations are!" she kicked a sack but then screamed in pain for the sack contain solid rock. "Jesus Christ!"
"There she goes again," Odahviing said solemnly as he watched her from afar. When the dragon saw Miraak was about to approach her, he added, "Let her cool down."
"Her yelling might attract forsworn nearby."
"I will be there to defend her," Odahviing replied to which Miraak did not respond. He just smiled to see Ammra sitting while hugging her knees—her usual gesture whenever she was upset after being nagged by Lydia. Odahviing noticed his expression and let out a low growl. "I am surprised to know you still not do any treason on her, dovahkiin."
"So am I." he replied, not wanting to give more answers.
The dragon shifted and stood to its feet when they saw Ammra approaching. "Done with your tantrum?" Miraak teased but Ammra just growled. "Where's next?"
"Dawnstar. We'll meet the priest of Mara." Miraak narrowed his eyes. "Don't worry, I knew him and I am sure he is not Sanguine." This time Miraak's change of expression made Ammra realized her mistake. She shouldn't have said that Daedric's name for it indicated she knew what happened.
"So, you remember?"
"No." She snapped while walked passing him and mounted Odahviing. "I don't remember it."
Miraak crossed his arms. "You are a terrible liar, little one." He smirked. "You owe me a thank you for taking care of you while you were having fun with him."
"I was not having fun. I was under a spell and he kidnapped me..." Miraak raised his eyebrow and Ammra just realized he was giving a false accusation on purpose so Ammra corrected the wrong part which exactly showing that she remembered all.
"A simple thank you is enough, Dragonborn." He said in a calm proud voice.
"Guh! Fine! Thank you...Miraak for saving me from the kidnapper."
"And?" He teased her, enjoying the sight of embarrassed younger Dragonborn.
"Geez, Odahviing, let's leave him here!" Miraak chuckled then mounted the dragon. After some time when she finally got over her embarrassment, "Hey, I did not do anything stupid while I was drunk, right?" she asked quietly but Ammra could sense his smirk.
"When did you not do stupid things?" he replied. Ammra let out a loud 'Tsk'
She was silent again for some time then saying, "Thanks again for saving me." She paused. "At this rate, I might not return you to your master." He giggled but Miraak felt his heart skip a bit. Instinctively he grabbed her one hand, making her startled.
Slowly she looked up behind her saw his deep blue eyes gazing down intently as if piercing her very soul. "Is it true? Do you really mean it?" he asked.
"Doesn't he want to return to Apocrypha so bad? But why his tone of voice said the opposite?" Ammra was confused. "Well...don't be alarmed. Of course, I will return you. That's what you want, right?" she caught a hint of disappointment in his eyes but Miraak brushed it and turned away.
"Is—is something wrong Miraak?" Ammra stuttered seeing his reaction but he did not answer.
Both Dragonborns didn't talk again during the way. As they were getting closer to the next destination, the air got colder and Ammra began to shiver. Miraak noticed how she hug herself. He snorted to hold his laugh when Ammra started to sneeze. She whimpered, cursing under her breath then slowly leaned backward, looking for warmth.
"You look sick. I hope it's not contagious," he said with a flat tone to pick up on her.
Ammra sniffed. "For the sake of this project, I'll prevail!" she spoke confidently even if her teeth chattered then she sneezed. "Don't mock me!" she told him when she sensed his smirk.
She landed Odahviing quite far from the settlement. Ammra said they might rest at Dawnstar and allow the dragon to leave her side. After around half of hour walking and some sneezing—for Ammra only—the sight of a city appeared before them.
They walked past the farm where several farmers chatted about the cold hard soil among themselves. The sound of Khajit caravan offering their goods was heard nearby. Some children running past them as they played tag.
Everything was normal until they were ambushed by some mages that disguised as one of the crowds. Some of them also stepped out from the hiding place. Instantly the air was filled by blasts of fire and cracks of lightning. Ammra and Miraak stood side by side. The resident who happened to be there ran away while Kahjit warriors who guarded the caravan help fighting the enemies.
This time peculiar mages that shoot purple crystals acted more aggressively. Ammra swiftly evaded, not wanting the crystal power to weaken her. As she dodged, Ammra cleared her throat.
Iiz Slen Nus...
An extremely cold air escaped her throat and freezing the opponent into solid ice. Other mages conjured foul zombies that surround them. Effortlessly she unsheathed her sword then slashed the undead while casting Guardian Circle spell
Yorl Toor Shul...
Miraak roared. This time he could feel his thu'um was stronger even without the mask. The fire burnt the undeads to ash.
Fus Ro Dah...
He shouted again to pushed away from the mages what was about to fire Ammra with purple crystal from behind. He had known his cooling down from shout to shout was shorter compared to Ammra, but he just knew it could even this fast. So, the Dragon Priest let the enemies taste his voice.
But alas, enemies also learned from their mistakes. Even if Miraak was too strong for them, they managed to separate him from Ammra. Their ambush now was in fact, had Miraak as their main target. While he was busy protecting Ammra from behind. One of the undead guards they had prepared beforehand joined the battle.
The undead guard hissed as his hand rose, clenching the spear. In the next split second, he threw it and landed on the first Dragonborn's chest.
"MIRAAK!" There was a loud scream as dread struck Ammra like a lightning bolt. Suddenly her rage could no longer be contained. Her fang grew so did her strength.
When the enemies saw Miraak feel to his knees, they thought Ammra could be taken away next. But this time, they were wrong and it would be their last mistake.
When a mage was about to attack her in a short range, Ammra easily evaded and grasped his throat. Rage circulated her Magica rapidly until it surfaced on her skin as an invisible blade. He coughed blood due to Ammra's strength and the invisible blade cut his vein. Then she cast fire cloak as some zombies tried to approach her.
Krii Lun Aus...
The shouted marked them to death as it drained their Magica and life force, making them weaker rapidly. She knew they were vulnerable and thus fired Elemental Burst Spells that instantly exploded and tear them apart. Ammra could feel her beast blood boiling as the smell of the blood filled the air. She screamed as if howling to challenge them all.
Enemies stood in terror. But Ammra swiftly darted toward them and swung her blade. Some guards from the city eventually came to aid. Their presence reminded Ammra that she must not lose her head, immediately she regained her senses. While enemies were busy because of the guards, she immediately ran to Miraak's side.
"Nooo....Miraak. Please don't die." She cried. Her sight blurred out of tears. Her trembling hands pulled out the wretched spear that piercing his chest then with great haste she used all remaining Magica to cast a healing spell.
"Ammra..." he muttered her name for the first time, seeing her crying
"Please don't die Miraak...Don't you dare! PLEASE DON'T DIE!" she cried.
He wanted to speak but he could not even open his mouth. His blood flooding the snow around him. Ammra sobbing and begging him to not die. Miraak forced his hand to touch her face. That moment he knew he could never live without her. "How troublesome..." he thought before eventually fell unconscious.
"Guards...HELP!" Ammra roared right after Miraak dropped his hand. She managed to close his wounds but Ammra was too panicked to think of what to do.
