Shadow was showering in the tub with Sonic, rubbing his belly from behind, Sonic purring softly at Shadow's touch and rubbing on his belly that held their little baby inside. "My future husband's body needs a good scrub by his fiance" Shadow said as he showered his neck with kisses. "Aww, future hubby wanna help scrub me when I only have 1 day left for a baby to come out of me?" Sonic asked as Shadow rubbed his belly in a circular motion with a soapy sudsy washcloth, holding him close with his free arm as he wanted to get him nice and cleaned.
"Well, I don't want you to drop the washcloth, so, let me clean you up so you don't have to worry about that struggle, and besides, only this time left to see this belly before the baby comes, I wanna bond with this belly one last time before I finally meet our little baby" Shadow said with a smile as he kept rubbing Sonic's slightly firm belly. "Aww, yeah, you are right, one last day means no more belly to cuddle with, but a little tiny baby in its place will come" Sonic said as he purred from the washcloth's soapy suds getting on him.
"I wished I can have this baby bump forever, but that wouldn't be fair for the little one in there, if they need to come out after they are fully developed, then I can't take them away from that" Shadow said as he stopped rubbing his belly with the washcloth and goes to scrubbing his back, making Sonic purr loudly from the good feeling on his back. "Yeah, the baby will be so loved though, also, keep scrubbing my poor back, I can't reach back there" Sonic said as he wagged his tail. "Of course, and yes, I will keep scrubbing your back sweetie" Shadow said as he massaged his back with the sudsy washcloth, Sonic purring louder from how good it felt.
~After The Shower~
Sonic was getting dried off in the room, both Sonic Chao and Shadow Chao sleeping on their pillows while cuddling on them for comfort and warmth. "Those two are absolutely going to love her, I know it, I can feel it" Sonic said as Shadow dried his quills and Sonic now being fully dry. "I think so too, they will be happy with her" Shadow said as he quickly brushed Sonic's quills to make them stay in place. "I am so happy we are having this baby, you have no idea how excited I have been, counting the days, the weeks, and the months, and finally, we will welcome our little baby in open arms, because I am ready to take care of her for the rest of my life" Sonic said as he rubbed his belly with a little bit of lotion to keep it nice and smooth.
"And I can't wait to help you along your promise to help our baby, I swear on my life, I will never abandon my little girl, she is a part of me, and I am not going to put her through that pain, she deserves both her parents to take care of her, so don't worry about me walking out on us, I love you both too much to give up that life, I promise Sonikku" Shadow said as he was finished brushing his quills and kissed his head. "Aww, that actually makes me feel a lot better, no one stealing my gay man, never, I won't allow them to" Sonic said as he hugged onto Shadow's abdomen, nuzzling his face on his stomach.
Shadow chuckled and rubbed his head softly. "Alright, no need to fight babe, I am staying with you and the baby mister, you two are too important for me" Shadow said as he kissed his forehead and got up, softly grabbing Sonic and carrying him out the room and down the stairs. Sonic purred as he was being carried, feeling Shadow's soft fluffy chest fur on his face, making him nuzzle in it. Shadow chuckled more as he felt Sonic doing exactly what he thought he was going to do. "You love this fur too much" Shadow said as he puts Sonic on the couch and walks to the door to grab Sonic's shoes to help him put them on.
"What about our Chao?" Sonic asked. "Oh of course they will come, I am not going to leave them unattended, they were just born 2 days ago, and they need to be watched" Shadow said as he starts putting on his shoes one after the other. "Can we have them pick out fruits they would want to eat?" Sonic asked as he slowly stands up while rubbing his belly. "Yes, they deserve to choose what they want to eat, I won't let them go hungry from what we choose, so whatever fruit catches their eye, we will pick up those for them" Shadow said as he walks upstairs to get the Chao. "Alright, I will remember that babe, that is so nice of you" Sonic said with a smile.
Shadow walked to the room and slowly picked up the Chao, putting them in the basket they hatched in, so Sonic can hold them in the car, walking back downstairs and putting a finger near his mouth. Sonic nodded knowing they are still sleeping. "Let's go, the store isn't opened all day mister" Sonic said as he slowly goes to the door and opens it, Shadow soon following after him. Shadow then opened the garage and unlocks the car, driving it into the driveway and keeping it idle so Sonic can come inside the passenger seat. Sonic smiled, opened the door, sits inside, puts his seatbelt on, and closes the door. "There, we can go now" Sonic said as he held the basket with the sleeping Chao on his lap. Shadow nodded and drove away with a smile as they headed off to the store to get more stuff for the baby that they will need with their keen supervision on the Chao they promised to care for while they shop for their little one.
~30 Minutes Later~
Rouge and the others arrived at their house and Rouge unlocked the door with the key Shadow gave her and walked inside the house, herself scoping out the house to see if they were around, smiling when they weren't in sight, flying out the open door. "COAST IS CLEAR, GET INSIDE!" Rouge said as she waited for the couples to come inside the house, Rouge setting out a floor plan of their plans. "Alrighty, they will be gone for quite a while, I predict they will be back by 3:30PM-ish, shopping for babies can be hard, but they can handle it" Rouge said as she looked at the others.
"I can't wait to get started" Tails said as he looked at the floor plan. The others were murmuring and talking with each other, knowing they have to help. "Rouge will be in charge!" Tails said as he sits down next to Amy. "Alright everyone, I will assign a task to you, and no complaining, this is for the future parents of this household! Let's give them an amazing baby shower they will remember!" Rouge said as the others cheered and clapped. "Alright, I already assigned tasks for all of you, it is your responsibility to bring the stuff or place them in the living room! We got this guys!" Rouge said so everyone can be aware of what is going on and what they needed to assist with for the baby shower they were making for their allies' baby.
~Later That Day~
Sonic was holding the two Chao and nuzzling them as he got out of the car. "That was a big day at the store, even the Chao loved shopping with us, they couldn't stop looking around" Shadow said as he picks up the bags full of stuff they bought and was locking Sonic's car. Rouge gasped and gestured for everyone to hide, all of them scurrying and finding places to hide so they don't get seen right away once they open the door. "They were, and yet, that will be our baby looking around one day too" Sonic said with a giggle as the two Chao looked up at him as he started to unlock the door, making sure the Chao didn't fall out of his arm while slowly pushing the door open a bit.
"I will wait for you Shads, I want to put away the groceries and the stuff with you, looks too much for you on your own silly" Sonic said as he waited for Shadow. "Says the hedgehog who can't even BEND" Shadow said as he walked with the groceries and the baby's things. "Watch your tongue mister, you better be glad I am holding your baby in me, if not, I would have suplex you right now" Sonic said. "Like you ever tried to suplex me—" Shadow then saw Sonic look at him and before he could finish what he was saying, Sonic cracked his neck. "Wanna bet pretty boy?" Sonic asked. "No, I am good cutie" Shadow said as he was shocked a bit that Sonic would even have the guts to do a suplex, but glad the baby was in his belly for him not to do so.
"Alright, that is what I thought" Sonic said as he nuzzled the Chao. "I am so sowwy, but Shadow was being mean to me, making fun of the fact I can't bend down to help with the gwocewies" Sonic said in a baby tone to the Chao who looked at Shadow and blinked at him. "I am sorry baby, I didn't mean to make it seem that way, I want you to relax, no need to carry things, the baby is coming tomorrow, and I don't want you getting stressed or injured" Shadow said. "Aww, that is so sweet of you, but I still have to help out you know, but okay, I will just relax like you want me to, and I am sorry for threatening you with the suplex move" Sonic said as he kisses his head softly before pecking his lips.
"Hey, it is alright, I am just happier to become a dad than the suplex thing you even so mentioned in my presence, but I will let that slide, I still can't believe you will give birth to our baby soon, it is actually mind-boggling to me" Shadow said as he bent down and kissed his belly before going to Sonic and kissing him on the lips for a bit, the Chao making noises as they tried to push them away from each other, jealous that they were not getting attention. Sonic softly broke the kiss as he looked down at the Chao. "Aww, you want kisses? Alright" Sonic said as he kissed Sonic Chao's head for and then following after giving Shadow Chao a kiss on the head as well.
"There you go little ones, you both got kisses, no need to fight for my affection, that goes for you too Shads, because I know once the baby comes, she is gonna be all over me and you will be wanting my attention and affection, getting yourself in a situation called "jealousy war" between her and you" Sonic said as he rubbed his belly while holding the Chao in his arm. "Jealous? Me? How ridiculous to accuse me of such a childish thing" Shadow said as he crossed his arms. "Aww Shads, don't worry, you still my handsome big baby, but our little baby needs more attention than you do, babies can't take care of themselves hun" Sonic said as he kissed his nose and walked through the door with Shadow carrying the bags inside as the house was dark.
"I am not going to get jealous" Shadow said. "Alright big baby whatever you say" Sonic said as he turn on the lights, revealing the living room to be decorated with balloons, streamers, and confetti. "Uh, did you do this?" Sonic asked as he looked at Shadow. "How could I do this if I was with you all day, unless—" Before Shadow can come to know who went into their house and did all of this, everyone popped out of their hiding spots, all of them blowing noise makers at them as the others popped the confetti on them. "WELCOME TO YOUR SURPRISE BABY SHOWER SWEETIE!" Aleena said as she smiled at her son and future son-in-law.
"Oh my chaos! You didn't have to guys! Especially my family too!" Sonic said with a smile. "Hey, it was your mom and Rouge's idea, Aleena helped with the theme and Rouge helped with the planning" Tails said. "Awwww! You two are the best, along with the rest of you for helping and being here!" Sonic said as he wagged his tail. "Rouge, you barged into my house?" Shadow asked. "Not barged, only used YOUR key you gave and DECORATED your house to celebrate my future niece, a "thank you" would have been nice Shadow, but it is fine, I got a nice reaction out of you and Sonic" Rouge said as she gave Shadow a virgin margarita with a sugar rim, a lemon slice, and a mint leaf all within the drink and the cup.
"No alcohol at this party, this is a child-friendly get-together to celebrate the baby who will be on the way soon, so we wanted to throw a baby shower for you guys to celebrate your baby coming to you both after today" Rouge said as she sips her own virgin margarita. "That is so incredibly thoughtful of you all" Sonic said as he lets the Chao fly in the house while he goes to the food and drinks table and took a cup, took a ladle, and poured himself some fresh fruit punch inside, taking a sip out of the cup. "Wow, this is some really good punch, love the taste" Sonic said with a smile.
"Knuckie and Tikal made it" Rouge said as she pointed at the two. "Well, it is simple really, I just used my fists, bare clean hands, and a ton of cheesecloth and fine strainers to make the juices I needed for my fruit and grape punches" Knuckles said. "I used the same method since it is a good way to separate the skins and the seeds from getting into the fresh juices we managed to collect from each fruit we needed" Tikal said. "Wow, I am impressed Knux, and you too Tikal, my praise to you both" Sonic said as he sipped more of the punch.
"Now with that being said, drink, eat, and have a great time everyone! We are celebrating my son, his fiancee, and the baby today, cheers for the future family!" Aleena said as the others cheered. "Shadow, come on babe, this is a wonderful thing for us, a little celebrating isn't a bad thing, even if it is for our little baby girl, or boy still, but still hoping and thinking it is a girl, well, you get what I mean" Sonic said. "Alright love, I will celebrate, but for you and our baby mostly, I want just you both to be happy" Shadow said as he rubbed Sonic's belly. "Aww, what a sweetheart, and here I thought you wouldn't celebrate stuff" Sonic said. "Well, I get to celebrate the little things with the love of my life, so yeah, it is worth celebrating over" Shadow said.
~Later in the Evening~
Everyone was looking at a slideshow of Sonic's baby pictures, Sonic embarrassed and hiding his face during the whole thing. "And this was when Sonic was drinking from a bottle, he was so cute and soothed, I couldn't help but take a picture of my baby boy" Aleena said as the other awe at the picture. "Ma! You embarrassing me!" Sonic said as he felt Shadow hug on him. "Babe, let her have her moment of sharing memories" Shadow said as he was entertained by how Sonic grew up. "And this was when he was near some flowers and a butterfly landed on his adorable little nose, I swear, that picture was a miracle to take, because the moment I took it, the butterfly flew away, talk about a lucky baby photo of my adorable son" Aleena said as the others began to awe louder.
"You know, you still look adorable even after you grew up, but seeing you as a little baby, I wonder if our baby would look like you more than me, just spitting out my thoughts that's all" Shadow said as he kissed his head. "But babe, she will have both of our DNA, she will resemble both of us" Sonic said. "I know, but when our baby is born, I bet she will look as beautiful as her mother, maybe charming, cute, and adorable along with that" Shadow said as he looked back at the slideshow. Sonic blushed but smiled as he looked at the pictures his mom took of him. "And here is Sonic bringing me some breakfast, it was almost burnt toast and overcooked eggs, but I still ate it because I wanted my boy to know his mother loved him still" Aleena said as the others awe again.
"That was a mistake and I was only 7 mind you all!" Sonic said as he played with his fingers and twirled them around each other in embarrassment. "That is so nice of you Sonic, such a caring hedgehog" Shadow said. "He always was Shadow, guess he still loves being a hero to everyone he saves or helps" Tails said with a smile. "My baby always loved helping when he could, I am proud of him" Aleena said as she went to her son and hugged him. Sonic smiled and stopped blushing, hugging back as Aleena turned off the slideshow and continued to hug her son.
The others smiled seeing the beautiful bond Sonic had with his mother. "Alright, time for gifts, starting with me and your siblings of course" Aleena said as she gave her son a gift. "Aww, gifts for the baby? Aww guys" Sonic said as he takes the gift and opens it, revealing a beautiful ribbon made by her in a soft rainbow fabric. "What is this ma?" Sonic asked. "It is a ribbon for the baby, you can put a bow in her quills and she will look absolutely adorable in it" Aleena said as she smiled and gave him another gift from her. "Another one? Thanks ma" Sonic said as he put the ribbon in the little box and started to open the other gift, making him laugh loudly.
Shadow looked and read what it said on the shirt. "Momma's gotta sleep, dad, wake me up and you'll be sorry" Shadow said and blinked as Sonic laughed louder. "I thought this shirt was perfect, since mothers will need naps and sleep, the dads would have to take the night shift for them to be regenerated for the next day" Aleena explained as others joined in and laughed at the little joke. "I am so gonna have fun wearing this, thanks ma" Sonic said as he stopped laughing and got presents from Sonia and Manic, taking them and starting to open them up. Sonia's present was a baby light pink onesie that says "I love my mommy and daddy, I am their little rainbow" on it and Manic's present was a baby light yellow shirt that said "Mommy's Little Angel + Daddy's Little Girl" on it.
"Awwww, these are so adorable, thanks sis, thanks bro" Sonic said as they both hugged Sonic. "My niece deserves adorable clothes" Sonia said with a smile. "Yeah, she will so rock these baby clothes" Manic said with a laugh. "That is so sweet of you both, I will be sure to use them if our baby is really a girl" Sonic said with a laugh, the others following after. "Alright, the next gift is from me!" Tails said as he handed Sonic the gift, Sonic no longer hugging the two so he can open it. Once opened, he saw it was a baby stroller. "Awwww, buddy, this is exactly what I needed, thank you so much" Sonic said as he hugged Tails. "Hey, the baby needs a stroller to sit and sleep in, so, no worries, I provided just that" Tails said with a smile as he hugged him back.
"I appreciate you" Sonic said as he stopped hugging Tails. "Got something for you" Knuckles said as he gave his gift to Sonic. Sonic smiled and opened it as he saw what was a cute rubber ducky that was pink and had a little red bow on the back of its head. "Aww, this will be perfect for when the baby is taking a bad and that they can hold it while we wash her, thanks Knux" Sonic said with a smile as he squeezes the rubber ducky, the squeaks coming out of it, making him giggle softly as he puts it down. "Please open mine next!" Amy said as she gave her gift to him. Sonic smiled and took the gift, opening it up to find three beautiful baby dresses, one that was light pink and had beautiful lace to make it look magical, one that was light blue and had sequins on the top of the dress to make it shiny, and one that was lavender and had a cute little bow in the front and a glittery trim on the bottom of the dress to make it sparkly.
"Awwww, she will look so cute in these! So pretty! Thanks Ames" Sonic said as he puts the dresses down nicely and smiled. "No problem, the baby has got to have a cute dress on a day out with her parents" Amy said with a smile. "I love that you thought about it, I wouldn't have thought to buy her dresses, but after seeing these, I would be putting these on my little sweetheart" Sonic said as he giggled a bit. "Sonic, open mine, open mine! You are gonna like this one!" Silver said as he puts the gift on Sonic's lap. Sonic looked and started to open the gift up, finding a shirt that says "I have two babies, One is my actual baby, The other is my man" on it.
Sonic laughed a bit as he picked up a small shirt that says "I am the Little Baby" and a same-sized shirt that says "I am the Big Baby" on them, making Sonic laugh more. "Since you call Shadow your baby, I thought hey, why not make it a joke, but on three separate shirts, the one with Little Baby is for your child, Big Baby is Shadow, and the last one is yours with the explanation of what they both are to you" Silver said. "These are so gonna be fun to wear, I bet Shadow gonna be mad but who cares, I wanna match with my babies" Sonic said as he folded the shirts and put them down and dies his laughing down. "Glad to make it fun for you!" Silver said with a soft giggle.
"Here is one from me" Mephiles said as he gave Sonic his gift. Sonic takes the gift and opens it, seeing a bib that says "Little messy one, but adorable when hungry" on it. "Aww, this is cute, I will so be using this when we feed her, thanks" Sonic said as he puts the big down. "This one is from me, hope it helps out" Fleetway said as he handed the gift to him. Sonic took it and opened it up, taking out a pair of cute little shoes that were black and had adorable buckles on them. "Aww, these would go well with her new dresses, how sweet" Sonic said as he puts the little shoes down near the other gifts he opened already.
"Mine next, this one I paid 100 dollars for" Scourge said as he pushed his gift near his feet. Sonic began to open it, but then opened it extremely fast, revealing a baby bassinet. "Oh my chaos! This is so going inside our room! Shadow is gonna need this! Thank you!" Sonic said as he pushes the box away with his feet, near the other gifts. "This gift is mine" Rookie said as he tosses him a very light box, Sonic catching it which made a noise and opened it, seeing two rattles inside, one that was of a Normal Chao head and the other of a green Chaos Emerald. "Aww, the baby will love these, thank you so much" Sonic said. "Hey, the baby needs some sound, so might as well give her baby rattles as her toys" Rookie said and smiled.
"Much appreciated" Sonic said as he giggled softly. "This is something for the baby, here" Infinite said as he handed him the gift on his lap. Sonic looked and opened the box, revealing a set of 3 baby bottles. "This will be very useful, for Shadow to feed her too, this really is an amazing item" Sonic said as he puts the bottles down. "Oh Sonic, this is from me, I think this one you will like" Espio said as he puts the gift near his legs. Sonic opened the big box and sees a baby playpen for when they want the baby to be somewhere in the house for them to watch her. "This is something that I can use for when she is a little older and no longer a newborn, thanks a bunch, this is really a live saver for our little one" Sonic said as he puts the folded playpen in the box again before pushing it away with his legs.
"May not be a good gift, but I tried" Mighty said as he slides over his present. Sonic looked and grabbed it, unwrapping the gift as he found inside some playing blocks with letters and colors on them. "Aww don't say that, the baby can build with these once she is a tiny bit more developed and growing to start that, thanks, I will so keep them for the baby" Sonic said with a smile as he closes the box. "This baby is gonna enjoy this gift" Vector said as he gives it on Sonic's lap. Sonic looked and unwrapped the box, inside as he found a 6 set of plastic balls in rainbow colors. "She is gonna be throwing these balls around I can see it now, you are right, she is going to enjoy these" Sonic said as he smiled and put the gift down.
"I really want the baby to have this gift" Blaze said as she handed over the gift. Sonic took it and opened the box, pulling out an adorable teething ring that was in pink and had a heart for the teething part. "Wow, a teething ring, really considerate of you Blaze, I am so using this once she starts biting things, I need my baby girl to feel comfortable, thanks again" Sonic said as he puts it down. "Well, teething is something that happens, so I might as well buy it for you" Blaze said with a soft smile. "That is so sweet Blaze, you really care" Sonic said as he looked at the gifts he had before receiving the last few gifts he had to open.
"From me to you Sonic, enjoy hun" Rouge said as she handed him a box in his hands. Sonic grabbed the gift and opened it revealing matching shirts for him and the baby, the big shirt saying "Gay Mama" and the little shirt saying "Mama's Rainbow Baby" on it that were both pastel rainbow colored. "Aww these shirts are so cute, I am using these one day, thanks" Sonic said as he folded the shirts. "Since you are gay, that makes your baby a rainbow baby, so special, I want the baby to love who she came from you know" Rouge said with a wink. "Thank you so much Rouge, appreciated as always" Sonic said with a soft giggle.
"N-Next is from me, h-hope this gift is good" Whisper said as she slowly puts the gift on his lap. Sonic unwrapped the gift and saw a rainbow playmat that was wrapped up. "Aww, the baby can play safely on this, this is really nice of you to give us Whisper" Sonic said. "R-Really? T-Thank you for liking the gift" Whisper said as she sheepishly smiled. "Anytime Whisper, this is going to be used well for my baby" Sonic said as he smiled back. "This gift is for the baby hedgehog girl, here" Tangle said as she handed him the gift with her tail. Sonic took it and opened it up, revealing a pretty set of pacifiers in 3 types, one that resembles Normal Chao, one that resembles Hero Chao, and one that resembles Dark Chao.
"Awwww, these will be extremely helpful for her, and they all look like the regular Chao, which is so cute" Sonic said as he puts down the pacifiers on the other gifts. "This is my gift, hope it does you well" Tikal said as she handed the last gift. Sonic takes it and opens the box, finding an adorable set of bibs with 5 inside, one that says "A little messy but just hungry", one that says "Feed me and I'll be happy", one that says "Baby needs fuel", one that says "Food = Energy", and one that says "Mommy and Daddy's hungry baby girl" on them. "So cute, I will save these when she starts feeding, thanks a lot for the gift" Sonic said as he puts the last gift down.
"We love you Sonic, and you too Shadow, no matter what happens, we will all be here for you" Tails said as the others agreed with him. "Aww, you guys really are a great group to be around, I am so happy we are all friends" Sonic said with a soft smile as Shadow nuzzled on him. "Of course baby, we support you always and Shadow, and need help with the baby, we can all help you" Aleena said as the others nodded with her statement. "And if you need rest, I will take care of the baby all night, I promise" Shadow said as he kisses his head.
The others smiled at the couple as Shadow realized someone was missing. "Where is my cousin?" Shadow asked. "Oh, we haven't heard from her, we would have invited her if she knew where to find one of us" Tails said. "Oh, okay, I just hope she is alright, that's it" Shadow said. Sonic hugged Shadow and kissed his nose. "Sage can handle herself, if you've seen what I've seen, she is very good at protecting herself, trust me" Sonic said as he smiled softly. "Alright, I trust your words, and tomorrow, I want to take you to a nice hospital so the baby can be born, I promise you will be safe, and the baby too, I swear it" Shadow said as he rubbed Sonic's belly, Sonic kissing Shadow passionately as the others awe at their little kiss. But little did they know, Sage was watching from outside in the corner of the window, looking down before disappearing to report back to her father about her findings about where they might be tomorrow.
~At Eggman's Lair~
Sage appeared before Eggman, herself looking down as she stopped floating. "HAVE YOU GOT ANY INFO OF WHERE THEY MIGHT BE TOMORROW?!" Eggman asked as he was preparing the Egg Dragoon for the surprise Sonic will never see coming. "They are going to a hospital tomorrow. . . I don't know which one but that is where Shadow said he was taking Sonic. . ." Sage said. "EXCELLENT SAGE, I AM SO PROUD OF YOU!!! AND I NEED YOU TO DO ONE THING FOR ME!!!" Eggman yelled. "Y-Yes father?. . ." Sage asked. "MAKE SURE SHADOW IS RENDERED USELESS!!! ONCE HE FINDS OUT SONIC IS GETTING KIDNAPPED, HE WILL TRY TO TAKE HIM BACK, WE CAN'T HAVE THAT HAPPEN!!!" Eggman yelled. "O-Okay. . ." Sage said as she saw Eggman give her something. "THESE ARE LITTLE RINGS THAT LOOK LIKE HIS INHIBITOR RINGS BUT ACTUALLY CANCEL OUT HIS CHAOS ABILITIES!!! REPLACE THESE AND WE WILL SURELY WIN!!!" Eggman yelled and laughed evily as Sage takes them and shakes. "DO ME PROUD SAGE!" Eggman said as he walked away to check up on his plans as Sage sheds tears, having no choice but to go through with it. "I-I am so sorry Shadow. . . I have to. . ." Sage said as she falls on her knees and sheds tears on the rings that were in her hand, knowing this will ruin her reputation with her family member for good, her negative emotions shrouding the facility through the rest of the day.
"Well, I don't want you to drop the washcloth, so, let me clean you up so you don't have to worry about that struggle, and besides, only this time left to see this belly before the baby comes, I wanna bond with this belly one last time before I finally meet our little baby" Shadow said with a smile as he kept rubbing Sonic's slightly firm belly. "Aww, yeah, you are right, one last day means no more belly to cuddle with, but a little tiny baby in its place will come" Sonic said as he purred from the washcloth's soapy suds getting on him.
"I wished I can have this baby bump forever, but that wouldn't be fair for the little one in there, if they need to come out after they are fully developed, then I can't take them away from that" Shadow said as he stopped rubbing his belly with the washcloth and goes to scrubbing his back, making Sonic purr loudly from the good feeling on his back. "Yeah, the baby will be so loved though, also, keep scrubbing my poor back, I can't reach back there" Sonic said as he wagged his tail. "Of course, and yes, I will keep scrubbing your back sweetie" Shadow said as he massaged his back with the sudsy washcloth, Sonic purring louder from how good it felt.
~After The Shower~
Sonic was getting dried off in the room, both Sonic Chao and Shadow Chao sleeping on their pillows while cuddling on them for comfort and warmth. "Those two are absolutely going to love her, I know it, I can feel it" Sonic said as Shadow dried his quills and Sonic now being fully dry. "I think so too, they will be happy with her" Shadow said as he quickly brushed Sonic's quills to make them stay in place. "I am so happy we are having this baby, you have no idea how excited I have been, counting the days, the weeks, and the months, and finally, we will welcome our little baby in open arms, because I am ready to take care of her for the rest of my life" Sonic said as he rubbed his belly with a little bit of lotion to keep it nice and smooth.
"And I can't wait to help you along your promise to help our baby, I swear on my life, I will never abandon my little girl, she is a part of me, and I am not going to put her through that pain, she deserves both her parents to take care of her, so don't worry about me walking out on us, I love you both too much to give up that life, I promise Sonikku" Shadow said as he was finished brushing his quills and kissed his head. "Aww, that actually makes me feel a lot better, no one stealing my gay man, never, I won't allow them to" Sonic said as he hugged onto Shadow's abdomen, nuzzling his face on his stomach.
Shadow chuckled and rubbed his head softly. "Alright, no need to fight babe, I am staying with you and the baby mister, you two are too important for me" Shadow said as he kissed his forehead and got up, softly grabbing Sonic and carrying him out the room and down the stairs. Sonic purred as he was being carried, feeling Shadow's soft fluffy chest fur on his face, making him nuzzle in it. Shadow chuckled more as he felt Sonic doing exactly what he thought he was going to do. "You love this fur too much" Shadow said as he puts Sonic on the couch and walks to the door to grab Sonic's shoes to help him put them on.
"What about our Chao?" Sonic asked. "Oh of course they will come, I am not going to leave them unattended, they were just born 2 days ago, and they need to be watched" Shadow said as he starts putting on his shoes one after the other. "Can we have them pick out fruits they would want to eat?" Sonic asked as he slowly stands up while rubbing his belly. "Yes, they deserve to choose what they want to eat, I won't let them go hungry from what we choose, so whatever fruit catches their eye, we will pick up those for them" Shadow said as he walks upstairs to get the Chao. "Alright, I will remember that babe, that is so nice of you" Sonic said with a smile.
Shadow walked to the room and slowly picked up the Chao, putting them in the basket they hatched in, so Sonic can hold them in the car, walking back downstairs and putting a finger near his mouth. Sonic nodded knowing they are still sleeping. "Let's go, the store isn't opened all day mister" Sonic said as he slowly goes to the door and opens it, Shadow soon following after him. Shadow then opened the garage and unlocks the car, driving it into the driveway and keeping it idle so Sonic can come inside the passenger seat. Sonic smiled, opened the door, sits inside, puts his seatbelt on, and closes the door. "There, we can go now" Sonic said as he held the basket with the sleeping Chao on his lap. Shadow nodded and drove away with a smile as they headed off to the store to get more stuff for the baby that they will need with their keen supervision on the Chao they promised to care for while they shop for their little one.
~30 Minutes Later~
Rouge and the others arrived at their house and Rouge unlocked the door with the key Shadow gave her and walked inside the house, herself scoping out the house to see if they were around, smiling when they weren't in sight, flying out the open door. "COAST IS CLEAR, GET INSIDE!" Rouge said as she waited for the couples to come inside the house, Rouge setting out a floor plan of their plans. "Alrighty, they will be gone for quite a while, I predict they will be back by 3:30PM-ish, shopping for babies can be hard, but they can handle it" Rouge said as she looked at the others.
"I can't wait to get started" Tails said as he looked at the floor plan. The others were murmuring and talking with each other, knowing they have to help. "Rouge will be in charge!" Tails said as he sits down next to Amy. "Alright everyone, I will assign a task to you, and no complaining, this is for the future parents of this household! Let's give them an amazing baby shower they will remember!" Rouge said as the others cheered and clapped. "Alright, I already assigned tasks for all of you, it is your responsibility to bring the stuff or place them in the living room! We got this guys!" Rouge said so everyone can be aware of what is going on and what they needed to assist with for the baby shower they were making for their allies' baby.
~Later That Day~
Sonic was holding the two Chao and nuzzling them as he got out of the car. "That was a big day at the store, even the Chao loved shopping with us, they couldn't stop looking around" Shadow said as he picks up the bags full of stuff they bought and was locking Sonic's car. Rouge gasped and gestured for everyone to hide, all of them scurrying and finding places to hide so they don't get seen right away once they open the door. "They were, and yet, that will be our baby looking around one day too" Sonic said with a giggle as the two Chao looked up at him as he started to unlock the door, making sure the Chao didn't fall out of his arm while slowly pushing the door open a bit.
"I will wait for you Shads, I want to put away the groceries and the stuff with you, looks too much for you on your own silly" Sonic said as he waited for Shadow. "Says the hedgehog who can't even BEND" Shadow said as he walked with the groceries and the baby's things. "Watch your tongue mister, you better be glad I am holding your baby in me, if not, I would have suplex you right now" Sonic said. "Like you ever tried to suplex me—" Shadow then saw Sonic look at him and before he could finish what he was saying, Sonic cracked his neck. "Wanna bet pretty boy?" Sonic asked. "No, I am good cutie" Shadow said as he was shocked a bit that Sonic would even have the guts to do a suplex, but glad the baby was in his belly for him not to do so.
"Alright, that is what I thought" Sonic said as he nuzzled the Chao. "I am so sowwy, but Shadow was being mean to me, making fun of the fact I can't bend down to help with the gwocewies" Sonic said in a baby tone to the Chao who looked at Shadow and blinked at him. "I am sorry baby, I didn't mean to make it seem that way, I want you to relax, no need to carry things, the baby is coming tomorrow, and I don't want you getting stressed or injured" Shadow said. "Aww, that is so sweet of you, but I still have to help out you know, but okay, I will just relax like you want me to, and I am sorry for threatening you with the suplex move" Sonic said as he kisses his head softly before pecking his lips.
"Hey, it is alright, I am just happier to become a dad than the suplex thing you even so mentioned in my presence, but I will let that slide, I still can't believe you will give birth to our baby soon, it is actually mind-boggling to me" Shadow said as he bent down and kissed his belly before going to Sonic and kissing him on the lips for a bit, the Chao making noises as they tried to push them away from each other, jealous that they were not getting attention. Sonic softly broke the kiss as he looked down at the Chao. "Aww, you want kisses? Alright" Sonic said as he kissed Sonic Chao's head for and then following after giving Shadow Chao a kiss on the head as well.
"There you go little ones, you both got kisses, no need to fight for my affection, that goes for you too Shads, because I know once the baby comes, she is gonna be all over me and you will be wanting my attention and affection, getting yourself in a situation called "jealousy war" between her and you" Sonic said as he rubbed his belly while holding the Chao in his arm. "Jealous? Me? How ridiculous to accuse me of such a childish thing" Shadow said as he crossed his arms. "Aww Shads, don't worry, you still my handsome big baby, but our little baby needs more attention than you do, babies can't take care of themselves hun" Sonic said as he kissed his nose and walked through the door with Shadow carrying the bags inside as the house was dark.
"I am not going to get jealous" Shadow said. "Alright big baby whatever you say" Sonic said as he turn on the lights, revealing the living room to be decorated with balloons, streamers, and confetti. "Uh, did you do this?" Sonic asked as he looked at Shadow. "How could I do this if I was with you all day, unless—" Before Shadow can come to know who went into their house and did all of this, everyone popped out of their hiding spots, all of them blowing noise makers at them as the others popped the confetti on them. "WELCOME TO YOUR SURPRISE BABY SHOWER SWEETIE!" Aleena said as she smiled at her son and future son-in-law.
"Oh my chaos! You didn't have to guys! Especially my family too!" Sonic said with a smile. "Hey, it was your mom and Rouge's idea, Aleena helped with the theme and Rouge helped with the planning" Tails said. "Awwww! You two are the best, along with the rest of you for helping and being here!" Sonic said as he wagged his tail. "Rouge, you barged into my house?" Shadow asked. "Not barged, only used YOUR key you gave and DECORATED your house to celebrate my future niece, a "thank you" would have been nice Shadow, but it is fine, I got a nice reaction out of you and Sonic" Rouge said as she gave Shadow a virgin margarita with a sugar rim, a lemon slice, and a mint leaf all within the drink and the cup.
"No alcohol at this party, this is a child-friendly get-together to celebrate the baby who will be on the way soon, so we wanted to throw a baby shower for you guys to celebrate your baby coming to you both after today" Rouge said as she sips her own virgin margarita. "That is so incredibly thoughtful of you all" Sonic said as he lets the Chao fly in the house while he goes to the food and drinks table and took a cup, took a ladle, and poured himself some fresh fruit punch inside, taking a sip out of the cup. "Wow, this is some really good punch, love the taste" Sonic said with a smile.
"Knuckie and Tikal made it" Rouge said as she pointed at the two. "Well, it is simple really, I just used my fists, bare clean hands, and a ton of cheesecloth and fine strainers to make the juices I needed for my fruit and grape punches" Knuckles said. "I used the same method since it is a good way to separate the skins and the seeds from getting into the fresh juices we managed to collect from each fruit we needed" Tikal said. "Wow, I am impressed Knux, and you too Tikal, my praise to you both" Sonic said as he sipped more of the punch.
"Now with that being said, drink, eat, and have a great time everyone! We are celebrating my son, his fiancee, and the baby today, cheers for the future family!" Aleena said as the others cheered. "Shadow, come on babe, this is a wonderful thing for us, a little celebrating isn't a bad thing, even if it is for our little baby girl, or boy still, but still hoping and thinking it is a girl, well, you get what I mean" Sonic said. "Alright love, I will celebrate, but for you and our baby mostly, I want just you both to be happy" Shadow said as he rubbed Sonic's belly. "Aww, what a sweetheart, and here I thought you wouldn't celebrate stuff" Sonic said. "Well, I get to celebrate the little things with the love of my life, so yeah, it is worth celebrating over" Shadow said.
~Later in the Evening~
Everyone was looking at a slideshow of Sonic's baby pictures, Sonic embarrassed and hiding his face during the whole thing. "And this was when Sonic was drinking from a bottle, he was so cute and soothed, I couldn't help but take a picture of my baby boy" Aleena said as the other awe at the picture. "Ma! You embarrassing me!" Sonic said as he felt Shadow hug on him. "Babe, let her have her moment of sharing memories" Shadow said as he was entertained by how Sonic grew up. "And this was when he was near some flowers and a butterfly landed on his adorable little nose, I swear, that picture was a miracle to take, because the moment I took it, the butterfly flew away, talk about a lucky baby photo of my adorable son" Aleena said as the others began to awe louder.
"You know, you still look adorable even after you grew up, but seeing you as a little baby, I wonder if our baby would look like you more than me, just spitting out my thoughts that's all" Shadow said as he kissed his head. "But babe, she will have both of our DNA, she will resemble both of us" Sonic said. "I know, but when our baby is born, I bet she will look as beautiful as her mother, maybe charming, cute, and adorable along with that" Shadow said as he looked back at the slideshow. Sonic blushed but smiled as he looked at the pictures his mom took of him. "And here is Sonic bringing me some breakfast, it was almost burnt toast and overcooked eggs, but I still ate it because I wanted my boy to know his mother loved him still" Aleena said as the others awe again.
"That was a mistake and I was only 7 mind you all!" Sonic said as he played with his fingers and twirled them around each other in embarrassment. "That is so nice of you Sonic, such a caring hedgehog" Shadow said. "He always was Shadow, guess he still loves being a hero to everyone he saves or helps" Tails said with a smile. "My baby always loved helping when he could, I am proud of him" Aleena said as she went to her son and hugged him. Sonic smiled and stopped blushing, hugging back as Aleena turned off the slideshow and continued to hug her son.
The others smiled seeing the beautiful bond Sonic had with his mother. "Alright, time for gifts, starting with me and your siblings of course" Aleena said as she gave her son a gift. "Aww, gifts for the baby? Aww guys" Sonic said as he takes the gift and opens it, revealing a beautiful ribbon made by her in a soft rainbow fabric. "What is this ma?" Sonic asked. "It is a ribbon for the baby, you can put a bow in her quills and she will look absolutely adorable in it" Aleena said as she smiled and gave him another gift from her. "Another one? Thanks ma" Sonic said as he put the ribbon in the little box and started to open the other gift, making him laugh loudly.
Shadow looked and read what it said on the shirt. "Momma's gotta sleep, dad, wake me up and you'll be sorry" Shadow said and blinked as Sonic laughed louder. "I thought this shirt was perfect, since mothers will need naps and sleep, the dads would have to take the night shift for them to be regenerated for the next day" Aleena explained as others joined in and laughed at the little joke. "I am so gonna have fun wearing this, thanks ma" Sonic said as he stopped laughing and got presents from Sonia and Manic, taking them and starting to open them up. Sonia's present was a baby light pink onesie that says "I love my mommy and daddy, I am their little rainbow" on it and Manic's present was a baby light yellow shirt that said "Mommy's Little Angel + Daddy's Little Girl" on it.
"Awwww, these are so adorable, thanks sis, thanks bro" Sonic said as they both hugged Sonic. "My niece deserves adorable clothes" Sonia said with a smile. "Yeah, she will so rock these baby clothes" Manic said with a laugh. "That is so sweet of you both, I will be sure to use them if our baby is really a girl" Sonic said with a laugh, the others following after. "Alright, the next gift is from me!" Tails said as he handed Sonic the gift, Sonic no longer hugging the two so he can open it. Once opened, he saw it was a baby stroller. "Awwww, buddy, this is exactly what I needed, thank you so much" Sonic said as he hugged Tails. "Hey, the baby needs a stroller to sit and sleep in, so, no worries, I provided just that" Tails said with a smile as he hugged him back.
"I appreciate you" Sonic said as he stopped hugging Tails. "Got something for you" Knuckles said as he gave his gift to Sonic. Sonic smiled and opened it as he saw what was a cute rubber ducky that was pink and had a little red bow on the back of its head. "Aww, this will be perfect for when the baby is taking a bad and that they can hold it while we wash her, thanks Knux" Sonic said with a smile as he squeezes the rubber ducky, the squeaks coming out of it, making him giggle softly as he puts it down. "Please open mine next!" Amy said as she gave her gift to him. Sonic smiled and took the gift, opening it up to find three beautiful baby dresses, one that was light pink and had beautiful lace to make it look magical, one that was light blue and had sequins on the top of the dress to make it shiny, and one that was lavender and had a cute little bow in the front and a glittery trim on the bottom of the dress to make it sparkly.
"Awwww, she will look so cute in these! So pretty! Thanks Ames" Sonic said as he puts the dresses down nicely and smiled. "No problem, the baby has got to have a cute dress on a day out with her parents" Amy said with a smile. "I love that you thought about it, I wouldn't have thought to buy her dresses, but after seeing these, I would be putting these on my little sweetheart" Sonic said as he giggled a bit. "Sonic, open mine, open mine! You are gonna like this one!" Silver said as he puts the gift on Sonic's lap. Sonic looked and started to open the gift up, finding a shirt that says "I have two babies, One is my actual baby, The other is my man" on it.
Sonic laughed a bit as he picked up a small shirt that says "I am the Little Baby" and a same-sized shirt that says "I am the Big Baby" on them, making Sonic laugh more. "Since you call Shadow your baby, I thought hey, why not make it a joke, but on three separate shirts, the one with Little Baby is for your child, Big Baby is Shadow, and the last one is yours with the explanation of what they both are to you" Silver said. "These are so gonna be fun to wear, I bet Shadow gonna be mad but who cares, I wanna match with my babies" Sonic said as he folded the shirts and put them down and dies his laughing down. "Glad to make it fun for you!" Silver said with a soft giggle.
"Here is one from me" Mephiles said as he gave Sonic his gift. Sonic takes the gift and opens it, seeing a bib that says "Little messy one, but adorable when hungry" on it. "Aww, this is cute, I will so be using this when we feed her, thanks" Sonic said as he puts the big down. "This one is from me, hope it helps out" Fleetway said as he handed the gift to him. Sonic took it and opened it up, taking out a pair of cute little shoes that were black and had adorable buckles on them. "Aww, these would go well with her new dresses, how sweet" Sonic said as he puts the little shoes down near the other gifts he opened already.
"Mine next, this one I paid 100 dollars for" Scourge said as he pushed his gift near his feet. Sonic began to open it, but then opened it extremely fast, revealing a baby bassinet. "Oh my chaos! This is so going inside our room! Shadow is gonna need this! Thank you!" Sonic said as he pushes the box away with his feet, near the other gifts. "This gift is mine" Rookie said as he tosses him a very light box, Sonic catching it which made a noise and opened it, seeing two rattles inside, one that was of a Normal Chao head and the other of a green Chaos Emerald. "Aww, the baby will love these, thank you so much" Sonic said. "Hey, the baby needs some sound, so might as well give her baby rattles as her toys" Rookie said and smiled.
"Much appreciated" Sonic said as he giggled softly. "This is something for the baby, here" Infinite said as he handed him the gift on his lap. Sonic looked and opened the box, revealing a set of 3 baby bottles. "This will be very useful, for Shadow to feed her too, this really is an amazing item" Sonic said as he puts the bottles down. "Oh Sonic, this is from me, I think this one you will like" Espio said as he puts the gift near his legs. Sonic opened the big box and sees a baby playpen for when they want the baby to be somewhere in the house for them to watch her. "This is something that I can use for when she is a little older and no longer a newborn, thanks a bunch, this is really a live saver for our little one" Sonic said as he puts the folded playpen in the box again before pushing it away with his legs.
"May not be a good gift, but I tried" Mighty said as he slides over his present. Sonic looked and grabbed it, unwrapping the gift as he found inside some playing blocks with letters and colors on them. "Aww don't say that, the baby can build with these once she is a tiny bit more developed and growing to start that, thanks, I will so keep them for the baby" Sonic said with a smile as he closes the box. "This baby is gonna enjoy this gift" Vector said as he gives it on Sonic's lap. Sonic looked and unwrapped the box, inside as he found a 6 set of plastic balls in rainbow colors. "She is gonna be throwing these balls around I can see it now, you are right, she is going to enjoy these" Sonic said as he smiled and put the gift down.
"I really want the baby to have this gift" Blaze said as she handed over the gift. Sonic took it and opened the box, pulling out an adorable teething ring that was in pink and had a heart for the teething part. "Wow, a teething ring, really considerate of you Blaze, I am so using this once she starts biting things, I need my baby girl to feel comfortable, thanks again" Sonic said as he puts it down. "Well, teething is something that happens, so I might as well buy it for you" Blaze said with a soft smile. "That is so sweet Blaze, you really care" Sonic said as he looked at the gifts he had before receiving the last few gifts he had to open.
"From me to you Sonic, enjoy hun" Rouge said as she handed him a box in his hands. Sonic grabbed the gift and opened it revealing matching shirts for him and the baby, the big shirt saying "Gay Mama" and the little shirt saying "Mama's Rainbow Baby" on it that were both pastel rainbow colored. "Aww these shirts are so cute, I am using these one day, thanks" Sonic said as he folded the shirts. "Since you are gay, that makes your baby a rainbow baby, so special, I want the baby to love who she came from you know" Rouge said with a wink. "Thank you so much Rouge, appreciated as always" Sonic said with a soft giggle.
"N-Next is from me, h-hope this gift is good" Whisper said as she slowly puts the gift on his lap. Sonic unwrapped the gift and saw a rainbow playmat that was wrapped up. "Aww, the baby can play safely on this, this is really nice of you to give us Whisper" Sonic said. "R-Really? T-Thank you for liking the gift" Whisper said as she sheepishly smiled. "Anytime Whisper, this is going to be used well for my baby" Sonic said as he smiled back. "This gift is for the baby hedgehog girl, here" Tangle said as she handed him the gift with her tail. Sonic took it and opened it up, revealing a pretty set of pacifiers in 3 types, one that resembles Normal Chao, one that resembles Hero Chao, and one that resembles Dark Chao.
"Awwww, these will be extremely helpful for her, and they all look like the regular Chao, which is so cute" Sonic said as he puts down the pacifiers on the other gifts. "This is my gift, hope it does you well" Tikal said as she handed the last gift. Sonic takes it and opens the box, finding an adorable set of bibs with 5 inside, one that says "A little messy but just hungry", one that says "Feed me and I'll be happy", one that says "Baby needs fuel", one that says "Food = Energy", and one that says "Mommy and Daddy's hungry baby girl" on them. "So cute, I will save these when she starts feeding, thanks a lot for the gift" Sonic said as he puts the last gift down.
"We love you Sonic, and you too Shadow, no matter what happens, we will all be here for you" Tails said as the others agreed with him. "Aww, you guys really are a great group to be around, I am so happy we are all friends" Sonic said with a soft smile as Shadow nuzzled on him. "Of course baby, we support you always and Shadow, and need help with the baby, we can all help you" Aleena said as the others nodded with her statement. "And if you need rest, I will take care of the baby all night, I promise" Shadow said as he kisses his head.
The others smiled at the couple as Shadow realized someone was missing. "Where is my cousin?" Shadow asked. "Oh, we haven't heard from her, we would have invited her if she knew where to find one of us" Tails said. "Oh, okay, I just hope she is alright, that's it" Shadow said. Sonic hugged Shadow and kissed his nose. "Sage can handle herself, if you've seen what I've seen, she is very good at protecting herself, trust me" Sonic said as he smiled softly. "Alright, I trust your words, and tomorrow, I want to take you to a nice hospital so the baby can be born, I promise you will be safe, and the baby too, I swear it" Shadow said as he rubbed Sonic's belly, Sonic kissing Shadow passionately as the others awe at their little kiss. But little did they know, Sage was watching from outside in the corner of the window, looking down before disappearing to report back to her father about her findings about where they might be tomorrow.
~At Eggman's Lair~
Sage appeared before Eggman, herself looking down as she stopped floating. "HAVE YOU GOT ANY INFO OF WHERE THEY MIGHT BE TOMORROW?!" Eggman asked as he was preparing the Egg Dragoon for the surprise Sonic will never see coming. "They are going to a hospital tomorrow. . . I don't know which one but that is where Shadow said he was taking Sonic. . ." Sage said. "EXCELLENT SAGE, I AM SO PROUD OF YOU!!! AND I NEED YOU TO DO ONE THING FOR ME!!!" Eggman yelled. "Y-Yes father?. . ." Sage asked. "MAKE SURE SHADOW IS RENDERED USELESS!!! ONCE HE FINDS OUT SONIC IS GETTING KIDNAPPED, HE WILL TRY TO TAKE HIM BACK, WE CAN'T HAVE THAT HAPPEN!!!" Eggman yelled. "O-Okay. . ." Sage said as she saw Eggman give her something. "THESE ARE LITTLE RINGS THAT LOOK LIKE HIS INHIBITOR RINGS BUT ACTUALLY CANCEL OUT HIS CHAOS ABILITIES!!! REPLACE THESE AND WE WILL SURELY WIN!!!" Eggman yelled and laughed evily as Sage takes them and shakes. "DO ME PROUD SAGE!" Eggman said as he walked away to check up on his plans as Sage sheds tears, having no choice but to go through with it. "I-I am so sorry Shadow. . . I have to. . ." Sage said as she falls on her knees and sheds tears on the rings that were in her hand, knowing this will ruin her reputation with her family member for good, her negative emotions shrouding the facility through the rest of the day.
