Sonadow Pride Month - Chapter 27: Chapter 27

Sonic and Shadow were sleeping in their bed, Shadow groaning softly in his sleep as he moved in discomfort. Sonic's ears twitched as he rolled over to his other side and nuzzled on Shadow, wrapping an arm around him. Shadow felt his embrace and slowly stopped groaning in his sleep, wrapping his arms around him as well, comfortable in his sleep again. Suddenly, Sage appeared in the room, slowly going to Shadow's inhibitor rings, making sure the hedgehogs and the Chao didn't wake up as she quickly switched the rings and was about to leave before sensing something hidden around the room.
'Father mentioned something else that might be here. . . I have to grab that. . . before I go. . .' Sage thought as she sensed some kind of energy she knew before. Sage floated to the drawer and opened it, revealing there was a Chaos Emerald inside, the green one, Sage taking it before replacing it with a fake emerald, slowly looking at her cousin sleeping with Sonic. "Goodbye. . . cousin. . . I know you will hate me upon finding out. . . along with you Sonic. . . Forgive me. . . but father gave me no choice. . ." Sage said silently as she disappeared with the items without getting detected by Shadow, Sonic, or even the Chao as they all slept peacefully, not knowing what was to come later on in the day.
~In The Morning~
Shadow slowly woke up and looked at Sonic, admiring him a bit and his baby bump. "Chaos, I am going to miss that belly, but on the bright side, I get a baby with the one I love, which is even better" Shadow said to himself as he went to his rings and put them on his wrists and ankles, not knowing they were fake and controlling his Chaos Energy once they were put on. As soon as he stretched and cracked his back, he walked out of the room to make Sonic some breakfast as he was still sleeping in his bed.
Minutes later, Sonic slowly woke up and rubbed his belly. "Good morning my little one, good morning hon—" Sonic was about to finish his words but noticed Shadow was not in the bed, making him sigh and get out of bed. "Guess he woke up before me baby, but don't worry, I know he is here, he is not really outside as much, he usually is home" Sonic said as saw the Chao awake and flying to him. "Good morning sweethearts, come with me, we need to get you both something to eat" Sonic said as he walked out of the room with the Chao following him.
Shadow was almost finished cooking when he heard footsteps coming down the stairs. 'He is awake, good' Shadow thought as he smiled while he still cooked. "Shadow, you here?" Sonic asked as he walked to the bottom of the stairs. "In the kitchen hun" Shadow said as Sonic looked and walked to where he heard Shadow. "Good morning my love" Shadow said as he held out an arm for him. Sonic smiled and went to him while planting his face on his chest, Shadow holding him and kissing all over his head as the Chao land on the countertop, laying on each other and nuzzling.
"I am almost done with breakfast, so you can sit down at the table, I will also give the Chao some fruit sauces, since they need a bit before they can eat actual fruits" Shadow said as he was now mashing up some berries in a granite mortar and pestle, making them into some mashed sauce for them to eat easily. "That is so kind of you, remember Sonic Chao wants strawberries, blackberries, and blueberries, while Shadow Chao wants apples, cherries, and kiwis" Sonic said as he saw the Chao wiggle in approval of what he said.
"I know babe, I know what fruit they chose silly" Shadow said as he kissed his head. "Let's hope they like the little fruit sauces you made them, and remember, small spoon to feed them" Sonic said with a smile. "Of course, little spoons are better for their small mouths to take all the mashed fruit I am going to feed them, and you, you need to eat, so I will feed them both, don't worry about me" Shadow said as he puts the first sauce into a bowl, followed by the second sauce in the other one, walking away to the table to set them down before serving Sonic his breakfast. "Enjoy babe" Shadow said as Sonic smiled, enjoying what feels to be his last shared meal with his baby.
~Later In The Afternoon~
Sonic and Shadow were walking to meet up with Sonic's mother, sister, and brother as they enjoyed their little walk. "Shadow, will you promise me something?" Sonic asked as he walked with Shadow. "Of course, anything my blue rose" Shadow said as he looked at Sonic. "Promise me that no matter what happens, you will always find a way back to me, even if you are lost or weak, always find me to give you strength, remember that Shads, your friends and your loved ones are always your inner strength, never forget your purpose" Sonic said as Shadow slowly nodded, indicating he will keep his word.
But then, suddenly, there was a shadow that went above them, an evil laugh they knew too well being heard, Eggman was here. "I-It can't be!" Sonic looked up and his eyes went lifeless as he saw Eggman, knowing this was not what he thought would happen. "BUT IT IS YOU BLUE RODENT! NOW!!! LET'S SEE IF YOUR SPEEEEEEEEED CAN SAVE YOU NOW!!!" Eggman yelled as many other people ran away, screaming in terror for their lives, not wanting to get caught in the crossfire. "OH WAAAAAAIIIITTTTTTTT!!! I "COMPLETELY FORGOT" YOU HAVE A LITTLE SECRET!!! THANKS TO SAGE, SHE DID THINGS ALL ACCORDING TO MY PLAN!!! AND I WILL NOT LOSE THIS TIME ONCE AND FOR ALL!!!" Eggman laughed as he then introduced his newest and latest creation while upon the Egg Dragoon.
"What?. . . Sage. . . helped?. . ." Sonic said in disbelief as Sage slowly floated into view. Shadow growled loudly and looked at the A.I. girl who betrayed them. "YOU MONSTER!!! I BELIEVED YOU!!! YOU ARE A MANIPULATIVE LIAR!!! WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU?! WAS MY WELCOMING WITH OPEN ARMS AND KINDNESS NOT ENOUGH FOR YOU?!?!? I TREATED YOU BETTER THAN HIM!!! HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO ME, YOUR OWN FUCKING COUSIN!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU BETRAYED SONIC, THE GROUP, HIS FAMILY, AND ME!!! FUCK YOU, YOU ARE DEAD TO ME!!! DEAD!!!!!" Shadow said as he had a newfound hatred toward his cousin. Sage was about to speak but shed a tear as she disappeared in a split second knowing if she talked, Eggman would silence her from speaking to him.
Shadow growled loudly and went in front of Sonic, a new edition Eggman robot that looked like a round capsule to keep something inside. "MEET THE EGG CAPSULE!!! MY NEWEST CREATION TO KEEP SONIC INSIDE!!! IT IS INVINCIBLE, NOT EVEN YOU CAN DESTROY IT SHADOW!!! HAND HIM OVER!!!" Eggman said as Shadow ran to him and kicked the glass of his controlled Egg Dragoon. "CHAOS BLAST!!!" Shadow yelled, but nothing happened. "W-What?. . . C-CHAOS SPEAR!!!" Shadow yelled but again, nothing happened, Shadow's eyes looking shaky, as his father's words circulated through his mind.
"You might have a power malfunction in the not-so-far future, I sensed it in you" the voice in Shadow's mind said as Eggman's robot hit him off, sending Shadow flat to the ground, the concrete cracking upon him landing down hard. "WHAT'S THE MATTER SHADOW!? YOUR POWERS FAILING YOU?! EGG CAPSULE, FINISH THE JOB!!!" Eggman said as he pointed at Sonic, the robot running to him as Shadow got up and tried his hardest to use his powers but alas, to no avail, his powers never came, the robot stomping on Shadow to make him immobile as Shadow watched the robot capture Sonic.
Sonic screamed and it somehow alerted his family, Aleena, Sonia, and Manic running out to see their horror as Sonic was being captured by Eggman. "SONIC!!!" They all yelled as Sonia and Manic took out their medallions and out came a keytar and drums, Sonia started with her keytar, trying to make Eggman's Egg Dragoon burst, but the power wasn't strong enough to break it, but Manic on the other hand, started to bang hard on the drums, the ground cracking under the Egg Capsule, but what they didn't know was that the Egg Capsule could float, the robot flying up and placing Sonic inside, closing up the lid, Sonic screaming in agony as he watched Shadow in pain on the floor, trying his hardest to get back up and take out his Chaos Emerald in the process. "CHAOS CONTROL" Shadow yelled but the power wasn't working, Eggman seeing this was a great day for a win after all.
"SO LONG SHADOW, ENJOY HAVING YOUR BABY BEING ON TEAM EGGMAN!!! MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!! TOODLES!!!" Eggman said as he flew away along with Sonic inside, Shadow finally got up and shed tears as he saw the fear in Sonic's eyes as his hands were against the indestructible glass, shedding tears himself as they flew out of view, Shadow despairing over the fact that Eggman stole Sonic and his soon-to-be-born baby that will be used against him if his plan succeeds. "NO!!! WHY?! WWWHHHHYYY?!" Shadow said as he punched a wall. "WHY DIDN'T MY FUCKING POWERS WORK!?!?!?!? SAGE BETRAYED US!!! SHE USED US!!!" Shadow yelled as Sonia and Manic went into tears, hearing that Sage was also behind his kidnapping.
Aleena on the other hand was shedding tears and her eyes looked lifeless as she just lost her son and future grandbaby. "S-Sonic. . . p-please someone. . . save my baby. . . I-I can't lose him and my grandbaby. . ." Aleena said as she softly cried. Shadow growled and gave Rouge a call as his tears shed still. Rouge picked up the phone but wasn't expecting anything horrible to be said. "Rouge, Eggman got Sonic, and Sage was working for him the past weeks, I will rip him limb from limb the moment my powers are restored, get the others, and meet me back at my place, we have a fiance and baby to save" Shadow said as he looked at Aleena and went to her, hugging her tightly as his eyes looked deadly, wanting Eggman to suffer but knowing he himself hasn't got a chance due to his powers failing him but is still with a little hope in his heart.
"We will get Sonic back, I promise, even if I have to break a couple of bones, I will do it" Shadow said darkly as Aleena looked at him, her eyes filled with many tears, Sonia and Manic shedding tears as well still as they put away their instruments back in their medallions. "L-Let's go quick, we don't have much time. . ." Aleena said as she looked at her car, the siblings taking her keys to get it so they can ride there, Shadow letting go of Aleena and skating away to his place, his tears falling off of his face from how fast he was going not wanting to lose his fiancee and unborn baby to an egotistical evil doctor.
~Within the Eggman Lair~
"Welcome back boss!" Orbot said as he looked at Eggman who had just landed inside his lair and got out of the Egg Dragoon's cockpit. "WOW, I WISHED WE COULD HAVE SEEN YOU!!! I COULD HAVE TAKEN EVIL PICTURES FOR MY EVIL SCRAPBOOK OF "EGGMAN FAILS AGAINST SONIC THE HEDGEHOG" IT WOULD HAVE BEEN SUPER GREAT!" Cubot said. "SILENCE!!! YOU ARE RUINING THE SPEECH I AM ABOUT TO GIVE!!!!!" Eggman said as Sonic was hitting the glass with his clenched fist, crying inside as he held his belly, Eggman clearing his throat before speaking. "I, Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik, have finally caught Sonic the Hedgehog, and a better prize inside of the blue rodent! His own child! Once the baby is born, he or she will be mine and I will win every time! Thank you sooooo much pincushion for bearing this HEAVY burden!" Eggman laughed as he made the Egg Capsule go near a machine that holds Sonic hostage until he is about to give birth. Orbot and Cubot clapped and cheered for the doctor, seeing him happy his plans were actually working for once but after a few seconds, they stopped clapping.
Sonic kicked and cried as he didn't want his child to get taken away from him, it would break him down and cause Eggman to use his own flesh and blood against him at every turn he got. "YOU WON'T TAKE MY CHILD!!! I SWEAR ON MY LIFE, YOU WON'T EVEN DARE TO TAKE MY LITTLE ONE AWAY FROM ME!!!!!" Sonic yelled as Eggman smirked widely, banging the glass as he looked at him. "You will you blue rodent, this child will be the latest edition to the Eggman Industries, and my Empire! Thanks to them, it will be MUCH quicker to build my Eggman Thempark! Thanks a lot for this GOLDEN opportunity Sonic! Hope your baby is in my evil hands REAL soon!" Eggman said as he laughed loudly and walked away, Orbot and Cubot following him.
Sage slowly got into view, unable to get Sonic out due to her only being an A.I. and his personal assistant who didn't have much access to anything upon Sonic's capture since Eggman cut her off of his tech and databases. Sonic looked and growled at the girl holding his belly in defense. "How could you do this to us?. . . I thought we were your friends. . . we trusted you. . . took you in. . . why do this now when I am about to have my baby?. . . You really are Eggman's creation. . . doing his bidding and taking every single thing he tells you into effect. . . get away from me. . . you hurt Shadow more. . . since he thought his own cousin wouldn't lie to him and his husband, his friends, and his future family. . . but no. . . you took away his hope for you. . . I hope you are satisfied. . . because you are so beyond cruel and cold-hearted. . ." Sonic said as he turned away from her and curled up into a ball, crying softly not wanting to lose his little baby to evil hands.
Sage couldn't help but shed tears as she slowly went away, unable to do anything since Eggman would know it was her. Sonic began screaming loudly as he was losing his mind thinking about the future he thought he would have his future husband and little one, all tainted now that Eggman plans to use the baby for evil means. "S-Shadow. . . I can't win. . . I can't. . . with the baby. . . it puts her at risk. . . I can't fight. . . it is up to you now. . . even if your powers are gone. . . please. . . don't abandon me. . . and her. . . I beg you. . . don't leave us with him. . ." Sonic said silently as he sheds tears at the bottom of the enclosed sphere that kept him hostage inside.
~Back with Shadow~
Shadow was screaming loudly as gripped his arm hard, trying to figure out why his powers weren't working. "Shadow stop! You are going to hurt yourself!" Aleena said as she puts a hand around his shoulders which caused Shadow to break down crying, knowing he failed his promise to protect him and the baby. "I-I can't do anything. . . I tried using Chaos Spear. . . didn't work. . . I tried using Chaos Blast. . . didn't work. . . I even tried using Chaos Control with the Chaos Emerald. . . but still didn't work. . .  what is wrong with me?. . . Am I broken?. . ." Shadow said as he sheds a bunch of tears, not able to help Sonic due to his own powers not showing up.
"Shadow, don't worry, we will figure this out!" Sonia said. "Yeah, we will! And then we can save our brother and our niece!" Manic said. "Don't give up, Sonic needs you. . . my baby grandchild. . . needs you. . . Please don't lose hope. . ." Aleena begged to Shadow. "HOW WHEN THE ONE GIRL I THOUGHT I CAN TRUST IS WORKING WITH EGGMAN?! HOW?! I WILL TELL YOU THIS, I CAN'T DO ANYTHING BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY POWERS!!! MY FUCKING "FATHER" WAS RIGHT ABOUT THIS AND I DIDN'T LISTEN, THIS IS MY FAULT THAT HE IS GONE!!!" Shadow said as he ripped apart a couch cushion in frustration and threw it on the floor.
Aleena suddenly slapped Shadow in the face hard, causing Sonia and Manic to gasp loudly from what she just did to him. "NOW YOU LISTEN HERE!!! SONIC BELIEVES IN YOU!!! YOU!!! ARE YOU JUST GOING TO SIT HERE AND ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN?! NO!!! YOU WILL GET UP AND FIGHT!!! FIGHT FOR HIM!!! FIGHT FOR THE BABY!!! FIGHT FOR YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY!!! FIGHT WITH YOUR TRUSTED ALLIES!!! FIGHT FOR YOU!!!!! ARE YOU GOING TO GET UP OR JUST STAY HERE AND LOSE EVERYTHING YOU HOLD PRECIOUS AND DEAR TO YOU?! WHAT IS IT SHADOW?! TELL ME!!!!!" Aleena yelled at him as she broke and sheds tears of pain. Shadow slowly held his cheek where he got slapped by her and sheds more tears, knowing Aleena was right, he can't just stay there and allow this to take hold of his and Sonic's future.
"Y-You're right. . . Sonic believes in me. . . and put his faith in me. . . I won't let this slide. . . I will save him. . . even if my powers won't show, I will try and get him back. . . for my sake, your family's sake, and his friends' sake. . . I will get him back to us. . ." Shadow said as he then heard the door unlock and open, revealing Rouge running inside and shedding tears, going immediately to Shadow. "How did this happen?!" Rouge asked as she was worried about Sonic and the baby, the others going in some of them looking distraught and others looking very pissed off about the news they heard from Rouge personally. "We were walking. . . and. . . Eggman appeared. . . I tried to fight back. . . but. . . my powers didn't come. . . and now. . . he is gone because of me. . ." Shadow said as he clenches his fists.
"I knew Eggman would try something like this! This is so cruel even for him! How could he try and use a baby against you!? And worse, YOUR baby!" Tails said as he sheds tears. "Eggman knew he was pregnant from Sage betraying our trust in her, she knew and told him so he can win! What a sadistic plan! This will not end like this! It just can't!" Amy said as she covers her face so her tears fall into her hands. "I am going to smash anything with my fists until Eggman knows what he did is beyond delirious and crazy! I will personally punch him myself if I have to! Probably get a little blood on me if I punch real hard!" Knuckles said as he was extremely pissed. "I can't believe it. . . Sonic must be so scared for your baby's life. . . I can't imagine how much pain he is in. . . knowing he can't protect the baby. . . it hurts. . ." Vanilla said as she was holding her daughter close.
"Poor Mr. Sonic. . . Eggman will hurt Mr. Shadow too. . . this is not right. . ." Cream said as she cried while Cheese and Chocola cried as well, some of the others crying their hearts out for their most amazing and trusted ally that got kidnapped an hour ago. "No. . . we are going to fight. . ." Shadow said as he got up and his eyes looked lifeless and dull as tears still fell from them, everyone looking at Shadow in shock. "S-Shadow. . ." Aleena said softly. "We will fight for what we believe in. . . and I believe. . . we will save Sonic and my baby. . . I feel it in my heart. . . I will save him! Because he wouldn't sit here and do nothing, he would fight for those in need! I am not sitting on the sidelines! I am helping my two loves even if it costs me everything! If Eggman so dares to touch one quill on my baby's head, he will rue what he did years ago for me and Sonic, count on it!" Shadow said.
Sonic Chao and Shadow Chao cried as they missed Sonic, Vanilla going to them and trying her best to comfort them along with Cream, Cheese, and Chocola who were still crying but after a bit, she fully calmed them all down. "But how will we find him? He could be anywhere!" Silver said as he wiped the tears from his eyes. "Maybe if we all split up, we can find him easier, split up into groups so we can have a lead of where to go! Chaotix has those pictures still right?" Rouge said. "As a matter of fact, we do" Espio said as he takes out the pictures that he showed to Shadow that day in Station Square and puts them on the wall for everyone to see.
"If we analyze the place, it will mean we are 1 step closer to Sonic and the baby! This might actually be a very big clue, I am sure of it!" Tails said as he wiped away his tears. "We are going to get him back! By force if we have to! This is our Sonic! Here and now, he needs to be saved by us for once! Together, we are going to rescue him! For he needs us to be his heroes! Who's with me!?" Shadow said as he looked at everyone. "I am going with you Shadow, because Big Blue is going to need some heroes to save him, and I will take that opportunity to fight any day! Count me in! I will not fall to the likes of Eggman, that is a guarantee!" Rouge said.
"I am going too, that is my best friend who is in danger! I am not leaving him in his time of need, so yes, I will be coming!" Tails said. "I am coming! This is the day Eggman gets to be a punching bag! I am so going to destroy anything he gets in our way!" Knuckles said. "Sonic will need all the saving one can get, and no, I am not a delicate flower, I am a fighter who deserves to fight in this war just as you all are, so, I will definitely come on this perilous search! For Sonic's sake!" Amy said. "If we work together, I know we can win! Sonic saved Soleanna and the past, present, and future from falling apart, so in honor of that, I am joining the fight, you are gonna need my help anyone, psychokinesis hedgehog and all! I am proud to be part of this group!" Silver said.
"If Silvy is going, then I will, I have the ability to make clones of myself, it will be crucial to our success" Mephiles said. "Oh, this is going to be fuuuuuuuunnnn~ Robots for me to crush?~ Very nice way to show my demonic powers~ I am in~" Fleetway said. "Hey, this king is gonna join too, gotta kick some ass out there with you all! Can't do it without me!" Scourge said. "As one who was part of the Resistance group, I am fighting as well, no way am I sitting around and being afraid, that old me is gone, the new me fights for others, just like the Blue Blur does!" Rookie said. "I still have the power of illusions, so, I will be using those when fighting my foes once again, and use it against the doctor" Infinite said.
"As a Chaotix Member, I am not standing back, you need help investigating, and I am the right chameleon for the job, and for when a fight ensues, I will be fighting back" Espio said. "If any of you need a heavy lifter, I am your armadillo, count me in on this fight" Mighty said. "Oh this is where I punch and break shit? Hell fucking yeah I am in!" Vector said. "Hey, gonna need to sting my opponents, so I will join! This is gonna be easy!" Charmy said. "Don't be fooled by my appearance, I too have a stake in this fight, I will burn robots as I see fit, royal or not, I am not sitting here while he is in trouble and fearing everything in so little time" Blaze said.
"Momma, I want to fight as well, Amy needs me, we are a team together, I can help fly anyone over so they can fight faster and more efficient" Cream said. "Just be careful my little rabbit, daddy will be very upset if you get hurt, be safe for me please" Vanilla said. "I-I am fighting too, with my all-wisp Wispon, I can use any wisp p-power the special wisps grant to me, I-I will help in this battle, y-you will need help destroying robots f-fast, I-I am your best bet" Whisper said. "Ha, a battle with the egg, sure, sign me up, my stretchy and strong tail can help if I need to smash anything in our way along with the robots, leave that to me!" Tangle said. "I will fight alongside everyone, my sheer and cunning spear ability can stab the metal hearts of our foes, I am not letting them get away with this heinous act that was forced onto us" Tikal said.
"I am coming too! Brother needs our help! With my keytar medallion, we are sure to win!" Sonia said. "Count me in! My drum medallion will cause massive earthquakes, sending those robots to oblivion with my recklessness, I am fighting with you all!" Manic said. "I am going too, I may not be much use on the battlefield, but you will need healing, and I got something with me to help heal you all if needed, trust me on it" Aleena said. "But what about the Chao?" Shadow asked. "I will stay here and care for them, you all go ahead and find Sonic, there isn't much time, the baby can be born before you know it, time is of utmost importance, don't waste it!" Vanilla said.
"So it is settled, we make haste to find Sonic, and remember, no giving up, he needs us, he helped in our time of need, now, we help him in his, for we are the Freedom Fighters! The Freedom Fighters will save Sonic and the baby at all costs! Join me, my comrades and allies, in finding him and my baby! TO BATTLE, FOR SONIC'S RESCUE AND EGGMAN'S DOWNFALL!!! SPREAD OUT AND FIND ANY INFORMATION YOU CAN!!! NOW!!!" Shadow said as the others screamed in rage and ran outside, Tails scanning the pictures to analyze and find out where Eggman is hiding, flying out once he was done. Shadow was skating to find his father, to know why his powers were failing him and how to fix it as soon as possible. 'Don't worry Sonic, I will find you, and make sure you get back into my arms, I will keep my promise about protecting you both, I am not going down so easily! Hang in there my loves, I'm coming for you!' Shadow thought as he skated away fast, everyone starting the search for a possible lead on Sonic's location, Sage floating and watching Shadow run from afar in sadness and a little bit of rage due to her father using her as a tool for his cruel plan, tainting her innocence against them all, wanting to try and fix the mistakes she made before it is too late.
