Sonadow Pride Month - Chapter 5: Chapter 5

Shadow was relaxing on his couch as he held his sleeping boyfriend in his arms. 'Sonic really had a long day, he deserves his nap, so sleepy yet is a sweet angel' Shadow thought as he eats some coffee-infused chocolates while feeling Sonic cuddling him. Shadow chuckled softly as he rubbed his head, the hedgehog slowly opening his eyes and yawning. "Hi sweetie, did you enjoy your nap?" Shadow asked with a chuckle. "Yep, felt nice, because I got to sleep on your soft fluffy chest fur" Sonic said as he got up a bit and stretched, his stomach rumbling soon after. "Hungry?" Shadow asked as he got up.
"Yeah, guess naps can make me hungry" Sonic said as he saw Shadow walk into the kitchen. Sonic slowly followed as he looked at him as Shadow was making something. "What are you doing?" Sonic asked as Shadow started to grind some ground beef. "I am making you some lunch" Shadow said as he smiled and made sure the meat looked minced. "Oh, thank you babe, I really hope I enjoy your homemade meal. Shadow chuckled and put the minced beef in a pan  as he turned up the fire. "I am sure you will love this meal" Shadow said as he took out something else as Sonic smiled and walked away to let Shadow cook.
~30 Minutes Later~
Shadow pours some lemonade and checks up on his meal. "Sonic, sit at the table please" Shadow said as he started to plate the meal. Sonic went to the table and sat there, waiting for Shadow to come with the food. Shadow finished plating the food and went to Sonic, placing it down near him. Sonic gasped loudly at what he cooked. "CHILIDOGS!?" Sonic said in shock as he wagged his tail. "Yes, I know they are your favorite food" Shadow said as he smiled and rubbed Sonic's back. Sonic without hesitation started to eat the plate of chilidogs, which were 3 hotdogs smothered with chili, Shadow adding jalapeño and cheese on top of it.
Shadow chuckled as he watch Sonic eat his food quickly. "Careful babe, you will get dirty if you eat like that" Shadow said as he saw Sonic making a mess on his face already. Shadow took a napkin and cleaned his face while he ate. "Stop, I don't need to be cleaned up, I can clean myself" Sonic said while he was licking his fingers that has some chili on them. "Yeah sure, I am still gonna clean that chili off of you" Shadow chuckled as he wiped off the chili. Sonic blushed as he was embarrassed that Shadow had to clean up his mess.
"There, all better, now don't eat like that, you will only get messy again mister" Shadow said as he rubbed his cheek. Sonic blushed more and looked away as he ate his chili dogs. After a few minutes, Sonic was finished with his chili dogs. "I am glad you have a full stomach" Shadow said as he takes a soapy rag and rubs it on Sonic's fingers. Sonic looked at Shadow as his fingers were getting cleaned. "You need to not eat so messily, otherwise, you might stain something by accident" Shadow said as he finished and kissed his head.
Sonic squeaked and slowly stopped blushing as Shadow went to the living room and relaxed. Sonic slowly got up and sat next to Shadow, putting his head on his lap. "You want to cuddle?" Shadow asked as he slowly rubbed his head. "A little something" Sonic said as he nuzzled on his lap. "Alright babe, you can cuddle" Shadow said as he laid back and kept rubbing his head. Sonic nuzzled on his leg more and went on his so they can listen to music together, taking out wireless earbuds and giving Shadow one so he can hear some music and relax more. Shadow smiled and took it, putting it in his left ear while Sonic put the other in his right ear.
The song he put on was very soothing and caused both hedgehogs to be at ease. "I love this song, what is it called?" Shadow asked. "Sea Bottom Segue" Sonic said calmly as he hears the song in his ear along with Shadow hearing it as well. "It sounds beautiful, as if I was somehow in the depths of a never-ending happiness, something I feel right now with you, my love" Shadow said as he slowly intertwined his hand with Sonic's hand. Sonic smiled and closed his hand on his to feel his touch, loving every second he got to feel loved.
~Later At Night~
Sonic and Shadow were setting up a blanket outside so they can star gaze at the stars in the night sky. "That pan-roasted chicken with potatoes was so good, I love your cooking" Sonic said as he laid on the blanket and looked at the stars. Shadow then laid next to him and kissed his cheek, holding him close while he looked up as well, seeing a sea of stars in the pitch-dark blueish-black sky. "I love looking at the stars, they are little balls of gas burning millions of miles away from us, yet, they are so tiny in our view, it is actually quite nice to look at them, so many galaxies, so many things out there, yet, we are alright where we are right now" Sonic said with a smile as he felt Shadow kissing his head.
"It is beautiful, like you, you are my shining star in the darkest of nights, Sonikku" Shadow said as he kisses his head more. Sonic giggled a bit as he thought his words were rather sweet. "I love you so much, never forget that Sonic the Hedgehog" Shadow said as he held him closer to his body. "I love you too Shadow, more than you will ever know" Sonic said as he stopped giggling and places his lips on Shadow's lips, kissing them softly and tenderly. Shadow kissed back as he slowly wagged his tail, getting love from the cute hedgehog.
Sonic breaks the kiss and kisses his nose. "My Dark Hedgehog" Sonic said as he giggled softly again. "My Royal Blue Hedgehog" Shadow said as he chuckled and looked back up, Sonic looking up with him. In a quick yet beautiful second, a shooting star flew through the sky, making Sonic gasp. "A shooting star! You can make a wish if you see one!" Sonic said as he smiled brightly as he put his hands together and started silently making a wish. Shadow shrugged and did the same. After a few seconds, both of them looked at each other.
"I made my wish, not gonna tell you silly" Sonic said as he kisses his head. "Alright, I won't say mine either, only fair" Shadow chuckled as he felt Sonic wrapping his arm around him. "I love my handsome man" Sonic said happily. "And I love my adorable man too" Shadow said as he felt Sonic getting up and taking out a speaker, turning it on and playing a beautiful song, Sonic holding out his hand for him. Shadow was confused but took his hand, Sonic helping him up and wrapping his arms around his neck and smiling softly.
Shadow noticed and slowly wrapped his arms around his waist, both of them close to each other as the music played, Sonic starting to slow dance with Shadow, Shadow following his steps. "What song is this?" Shadow asked Sonic as they lovingly slow danced together. "It is called Kronos Island, I think it is Movement Number 3, if I am correct" Sonic said calmly. "That is very beautiful, the piano, the violin, the cello, and even the way it fits to each other, it just make me feel happy for some reason" Shadow said as he still slowly danced with his lover.
"It makes me feel happy too Shadow, thank you, for giving me a shot at this beautiful relationship I never thought I would be part of, this is so wonderful you have no idea" Sonic said as he sheds a tear of happiness. "No need to thank me, your happiness is plenty thanks enough, and I want to thank you" Shadow said and Sonic looked at him. "Why? I did nothing to have any thanks for" Sonic said as Shadow slowly looked at him as well, both of their eyes meeting each other. "I want to thank you for saving me" Shadow said as Sonic was then shocked a bit as they both stopped their slow dance.
"When I was on the ARK, Maria and Gerald were the only family I really had, they cared for me so much, but when G.U.N. wanted to use me, Maria and I ran, and I wouldn't forget her promise, it still burns my heart to this day, since her passing, I have been so angry and lost my memory, but once I got my memory back, I told myself I would never look back on the past and put it behind me, but that didn't change how my heart felt, I was hurting so much, I felt like I was drowning in sorrow whenever I felt alone, it made me even stay away from everyone more, I couldn't bear to love, loving would make me go into a depression-like state where I will do nothing for myself, not even protecting myself from others who persecute me and wished my demise to be in full" Shadow said as he sheds a few tears as the soft melody played.
"Shads, it is okay to cry, it just means you have feelings and a wonderful heart that cared, and still does, I am so happy to be your boyfriend, and if you cry, I will be there for you, need a hug, I will be your support, and need to talk about anything, I will listen, I just want you to know, I am fully here for you, no matter if we fight or not, I will still love you, because my heart belongs to you, and in a way, you saved me too, for letting me be myself around you, it makes me smile whenever you would send me a text or call me, I love hearing from the hedgehog that chose to date me, and I couldn't be happier that I am in front of him right now" Sonic said as he sheds a few tears as well and hugged Shadow close.
Shadow softly cried as they slow danced to the touching melody. "I will always be yours, you don't have to be alone anymore, you got me" Sonic said as he softly laughed while shedding tears. "Yeah, I got you, and I myself, am happy I said yes, the times I am with you, I feel my heartbeat and feel warm, as if, my heart was happy too, I really cherish that feeling I used to have with Maria, and now, I feel even happier that the once lost feeling I felt, came back in the form of someone else, you" Shadow said as he softly cried and looked at Sonic, both hedgehogs crying together. "What, never seen a hero cry?" Sonic said in a joking way while laughing softly still.
"Oh stop you" Shadow chuckles as he wipes Sonic's tears off of his beautiful face, rubbing the tears away from his own eyes with his arm shortly after. "No matter what Shadow, you can always count on me, anything you were burdened with, please, let me help you carry it, I will help you in whatever way I can, promise" Sonic said as he slowly took his arm off and held out a pinky to him. Shadow was confused as he sniffled softly and rubbed his eyes again. "What is that supposed to be?" Shadow asked. "It is a pinky promise, once you intertwine pinkies together, it means the promise is unbreakable" Sonic said as he held his pinky out still with a smile.
Shadow took his opposite arm off of his waist and held out a pinky as well. Sonic softly wrapped his pinky around Shadow's, smiling as he looked at Shadow. Shadow softly wrapped his pinky with Sonic's as well, slowly smiling back at him. "There, now the promise is sealed, you have my trust and in return you have mine" Sonic said as he took his pinky away and wrapped his arm around Shadow's neck again and Shadow wrapped his arm around Sonic's waist once more. "I will never leave you alone, even if you tell me to leave, I will stay, I decided" Sonic said as he lays his head on Shadow as they once again continued their slow dance.
"I love you Shadow the Hedgehog, no matter what, I will never stop being with you, I found my calling, it was to be with you and make you happy, I am sure Maria and Gerald are proud of you, I can feel it" Sonic said as both hedgehogs didn't shed any more tears. "I think maybe they are" Shadow said as they still slow danced for a little while longer. Out of their sight, the spirit of Maria was watching Shadow from far away and smiling happily, her golden hair flowing softly. "Maria, are you sure Shadow will be alright?" Gerald asked as his spirit appeared next to his grandaughter's spirit, looking down at both of the hedgehogs for a tiny bit.
"I am sure he will grandfather, I know he will be okay" Maria said with a soft smile as Gerald put a hand on his granddaughter. "Well, I will take your word for it" Gerald said with a chuckle as his spirit disappeared shortly after, leaving her spirit and going up in the sky. Maria looked at her body and saw it was slowly disappearing as well, just what she wanted as she looked back at Shadow. "Shadow, you found someone else to protect, never forget who you are, you are Shadow the Hedgehog, hero of the world when darkness took hold, and the hero of the ARK and holding our memory and living on for us, but now, you have to be his hero, he needs you, I am sorry I couldn't be with you my friend, but seeing you with him, I guess it was fate that I took the fall from that very day, but remember, me and grandfather are always going to watch over you, I love you so much, even in death, I always still love you, but now I must go, this is farewell, sayonara, Shadow the Hedgehog" Maria said as she smiled and disappeared as well, the hedgehogs having each other and being happy, knowing they were both going to be okay from now on, the stars shining brightly, indicating Maria and Gerald were still watching them.
