Sonadow Pride Month - Chapter 9: Chapter 9

Sonic and Shadow were in the grand city of Station Square as they were trying to find a place to hide Sonic so he can rendezvous with someone without being detected by people. "Don't let them recognize you, wear this" Shadow said as he gave Sonic a hoodie that had his scent on it and puts it on him. Sonic squeaked as he put it on and lifted the inner part of the hoodie a bit to smell his very soothing and calming scent. 'Lavender' Sonic thought as he fixed the hoodie as he then felt Shadow put on sunglasses that couldn't show his eyes along with a pair of black gloves, taking off Sonic's white ones to put on the black ones he had so he can stay hidden from those who would recognize him so easily in the streets.
Sonic looked at himself and looked at Shadow. "There you go, now no one will bother you and go crazy" Shadow said as he talks Sonic by the hand and quickly walked with him as so many people bustled and hustled in the streets, people going in all different directions. Shadow was laser focused on getting through the crowd so he can get to Sonic's rendezvous point as soon as possible. Sonic quickly put on his hoodie over his face as he walked with Shadow, not wanting people to notice him and stop them from walking to where he needs to be at the moment.
"Just stay with me and don't let people see you" Shadow said as he walked quickly through the crowd of people. Sonic stood close and followed where Shadow tugged him. Sonic nervously sweats as he watched out for anyone who looks at him. "You will alright keep moving" Shadow said as he kept walking until they got to a store and took a break for now. "This is like trying to hide from Eggman when he wants to pretend me and Amy are a thing with poorly made dolls" Sonic said as Shadow puts a hand on his forehead and wipes his sweat.
"Don't worry Sonic, I will protect you, and also, very pathetic of the Dr. to do that" Shadow said as he fixed Sonic's hood so it can cover his face more and opened the door, walking into the crowd with him again. "Breathe and don't panic" Shadow said to assure Sonic that they will be okay. Sonic followed Shadow's tugging motion. They finally made it to the middle of Station Square as Shadow let go of Sonic's hand for a brief moment to try and find a place to walk through. Sonic saw a chilidog stand a went to it, wanting to get something to eat.
Sonic walked over and saw a chilidog vendor. "Hi, can I have a chilidog with extra jalapeño and cheese, and can I also at some green onion and your specialty sauce on top of the chili and cheese?" Sonic asked. "Sure thing, that will be 4 dollars" the chilidog vendor lady said as she held out her hand for the money. Sonic took out 4 dollars out of his own wallet and gave it to the lady. In a few seconds, the lady already prepared his chilidog and gave it to him. "You have yourself a good day sir" the lady said as she smiled. "And you as well miss—" Sonic was cut off by the vendor recognizing him when his glasses went down a bit revealing a bit of his eyes.
"Wait, are you Sonic?" the chilidog vendor asked as some people started to look at Sonic who was in disguise. "No—" Sonic then heard fangirl screams as one of the pulled off Sonic's hood revealing it was really him, making them scream louder and start swarming him like a horde of bees. Shadow looked and pushes everyone out of the way to get to Sonic. "GET AWAY FROM HIM!" Shadow said as he grabbed Sonic and carried him, running away as Sonic held his chilidog while Shadow tried to escape the crowd of fans, but it was no use, they were being cornered everywhere they went, flashes of light indicating they were spam-taking pictures of them.
Shadow came to a sudden realization that there was a small chance of how they can get out of there. "Sonic, whatever you do, do not hate me for what is about to happen" Shadow said as Sonic looked at him confused and scared. "W-What—" Sonic gasped as Shadow lower him down a bit but looked at Sonic. "Sorry babe" Shadow said before launching Sonic into the sky and running as he jumped on a rail, sliding on it above the crowd to be prepared to catch him again. Sonic screamed as he was in midair and was still holding his chilidog, but lost his grip, making him scream loudly as the chilidog fell down to the ground. "NO!!!" Sonic screamed as he lost his lunch due to Shadow throwing him so high up, the camera still flashing pictures of them.
After a few seconds of being suspended in the air, he lost his momentum and started to plummet down, Sonic screaming as the crowd watched. Shadow on the other hand was close to catching him while on the rail holding out his arms to catch him. Sonic kept screaming until he felt Shadow had caught him just in time as they both still try to make an escape. The fangirls in the crowd screamed loudly as they watched and started to run after Sonic and Shadow who were still on the rail. "My chilidog!" Sonic screamed as Shadow jumped onto another rail and slid on it. "Worry about getting run over by girls and fans, not a chilidog!" Shadow yelled as he tried to shake them off their tail.
Sonic looked down and saw the fans still chasing them. But what they didn't know was that the person Sonic wanted to meet up with was watching them as he made his move and throws a smoke bomb at the crowd, the crowd screaming and stopping so they don't bump into anyone, not being able to see anything. Sonic and Shadow saw someone in an alleyway signaling them to come to them quickly. Shadow nodded and made a jump for it, landing near the alleyway and running in there, seeing it was familiar faces they knew. "Well, Sonic, it seems not a good day to be in the city after all" A voice said as he walked and showed himself, revealing it was Espio.
"Espio?" Sonic said as he saw he was the one who saved them from the crowd of overhyped fans. "You were the one who threw the smoke bomb? Isn't that dangerous?" Shadow asked. "No, it is non-sleeping powder, nor is it lethal, it is just to deter them from moving or getting run over by each other, it is a good solution" Espio said as he felt hands wrapping around his waist, himself coiling his tail around the one who was behind him. "Yeah, Espio is wonderful at distractions, he is a ninja after all, my ninja" Might said as he kissed him from behind.
"Oh stop Mighty, you are embarrassing my good name as a ninja" Espio said with a giggle as he kissed Mighty on his forehead. "Suuuurrreee it is, but I still love you my gorgeous chameleon" Mighty said as he picked him up and placed him on Vector's shoulder, the tail uncoiling from his waist. "I love you too my handsome armadillo—" Espio got cut off by Vector. "Hey, I am in this relationship too, what am I chopped liver?!" Vector asked as he crossed his arms and hmphed at them. "Aww, and I love you too my sexy crocodile" Espio said as he kisses his large mouth, making Vector's eyes avert to him. "Apology accepted, kisses are a form of sorry payment that I am into, you cute ninja" Vector said as Espio pecked Mighty on the lips for a few seconds.
"EWW, GROSS! I DON'T WANNA SEE THAT!!! LOVE, MORE LIKE BARF!!! BLECK!!!" Charmy yelled as he looked away at the brick wall. The three Chaotix Detective Agency members laughed a bit, causing Sonic to laugh a bit as well. "Since when did you three start a polyamorous relationship together?" Sonic asked. "Since a week ago, turns out these guys were the only love interests I need, and I accept all of this love" Espio said as he pets Vector's head and rubbed his tail under Mighty's chin. "Well, as long as you are happy, I don't mind you guys being together, your happiness comes first before ours, remember that" Sonic said.
"Oh absolutely, wise words Sonic, wise words" Espio said as Vector put him down as he heard the crowd running again. "Oh no" Sonic said as he was scared that they were going to look into the alley. Vector hid them behind an old cardboard cut-out as he pretended to take a smoke as some of the fans looked in the alleyway and only saw him, all of them running away from the scene after a few minutes. Vector spits out the fake cigarette and goes back to Espio, letting him climb back on his shoulder and sit there. "Thank you Vector, you did a nice job" Espio said as he wrapped his tail around Vector's arm while he holds his head.
"Thank you so much, I thought I was a goner back there with Shadow" Sonic said as he takes his arm and wipes the sweat from his forehead. "We noticed what happened, and to be perfectly honest with you, it was quite excruciating to watch" Mighty said as he held Espio's hand. "I knew I had to help you, and at the same time, you rendezvoused with me after all" Espio said with a smile. "Wait, you were meeting up with one of the Chaotix?" Shadow asked. "Well, yeah, Espio told me it was important, so I had to meet up with him, but didn't know the other three would follow him" Sonic said as he looked at Shadow.
"Why did you call me here, is something wrong?" Sonic asked as he was then handed a folder with papers in it. "Take a look at these" Espio said as he looked at Sonic. Sonic opened it and saw that it was Eggman's database stats, his security camera feed, and a dark ominous red glow in one of the pictures. "What is this?" Sonic asked as he got a bad feeling shrouding his judgment and mind. "That is some footage and data we got on Eggman's currently hidden base, apparently he is making a device, or a new robot, from what we recovered from hacking into his system logs that we managed to salvage before Eggman noticed he got hacked, and in this picture, he is near a new robot or something" Espio said as he looked and pointed at the picture with the red glow as he showed where the robot is located in the hard to see details.
"He is really making another robot, and we don't know where he is?" Sonic asked making sure he got what he just heard to be correct. "I'm afraid so Sonic, so if we see him, we will track down his secret lair, he seemed to find a better hiding place this time, so we don't know where he is, and he could attack and we wouldn't know until a place is in danger, so we have but to wait for now" Espio said as he rubbed his own shoulder a bit. "If anything happens, I have to be prepared for helping the people and protected them from Eggman, you know what he is only but so capable of" Sonic said as he looked at Shadow with a bit of worry in his eyes.
"Hey, he won't try and attack anyone, and if I have to break a limb or two, then I will do it" Shadow said as he rubbed Sonic's back and fixed his hoodie. "Mighty even found a flash drive containing a bunch of files, apparently Eggman dropped it while on his Egg Mobile and forgot to pick it up while flying away on it" Espio said as he gave Shadow the flash drive so he can analyze it. "And Vector also found a secret picture of where Eggman might be located, just from him placing a hidden camera on the Egg Mobile that took out two pictures of the place Eggman was landing at and in to try and find a clue to his whereabouts.
"I haven't seen this place before, even in my time, I wouldn't know what that place is" Sonic said as he took the pictures and stared at both. One showed a location that has a rocky cliff-like slope with a secret parking-like area inside, and the other showed there being a big robotic creation that looked quite familiar. "Wait. . . I have seen this robot before. . ." Sonic said as he knew what robot model he was looking at. "Sonic?" Espio said in concern. "It's the Egg Dragoon. . . I have battled it before, but it is rather hard to destroy it. . . I would know. . ." Sonic said as he gave Shadow the pictures so he can analyze them if he wanted to.
"Don't worry, he won't attack anyone, I promise, we got allies" Shadow said as he takes the pictures and looks at them before scanning them on his inhibitor rings and keeping the data with him until he is ready to use them. "We will give these to Rouge as well so she can know what is going on, it will all be okay" Mighty said as he rubbed Sonic's back. "Sonic, we will protect anyone if he comes back, you know us, the C.D.A. is always on the case!" Vector said. "Yeah, I can even beat up robots again!" Charmy said. "And I get to punch bots again" Mighty said as he puts his knuckles together.
"Thank you guys, I appreciate your loyalty to the cause, if anything happens, please notify me and Shadow, we will both handle it, and if we need backup, don't hesitate to come to our aid" Sonic said as he hugged Shadow. Shadow hugged him back, holding him close. "Don't worry, we won't falter, we will fight alongside you, swear on our very word" Espio said as he crawled a tiny bit onto Vector's head and nuzzles him. "No matter what, we will not give up, you were never one to just let things happen, you got up and still fought with all your might" Mighty said. "We will remain by your side as fighters to the very end" Vector said with a chortle.
"Well, one problem still stands, how will we know when he will attack? He can attack out of nowhere remember?" Sonic said as he then felt Shadow rubbing his back. "Don't worry, he always does an action before going through with his plan, rememeber? Shadow said to him as he kissed his head and held him very close. "Exactly! He always gloats about his own creations before the battle happens! And his evil laugh can sometimes be heard before then!" Charmy said. "I hate to admit it, but Charmy is right, he does do things before a battle will even begin, if we can know where he is based on that, we can be prepared for his attack" Vector said.
"You are right, that could be a warning for the people to evacuate and leave the butt-kicking to us" Mighty said with a smile. "Sonic, all will be okay, promise my love" Shadow said as he kisses his head and nuzzles it. "Alright, I trust in my friends, that they will help in dire situations like Eggman's robot fleet, and any threat we all will face, working together is our only option for victory" Sonic said as he looked at the Chaotix members. "Anything goes wrong, we need only spread the word about the impending danger" Espio said and looked back at Sonic.
"Thank you, now the biggest problem for me, is how am I going to get the hell out of here!" Sonic yelled as he heard the fans still looking for him. "Leave it to us, we will distract them so you can make a run for it and leave Station Square before they know you are gone" Vector said as he ran out of the alleyway and caught their attention. "HEY, I SAW SONIC GOING THAT WAY!!!" Vector yelled as he pointed in the opposite direction, the fans screaming and running so they can try to find Sonic. "Go, run!" Espio said as he helped them get out of the alleyway undetected, waving goodbye as Charmy grabbed his hands and flew up with him, acting like surveillance for them.
"Go straight!" Charmy said as the hedgehogs and the armadillo followed his direction and were getting away from the crowd much more efficiently, their escape working very well. "Now go right!" Espio yelled as they went to the right, making sure they didn't get the directions wrong. "Now go left until we say the next direction!" Charmy said while flying with Espio. The hedgehogs went to the left and kept going straight while running through the streets, not wanting to get trapped by the many fans. "And now go straight! We will meet you there!" Espio said as Charmy started to fly faster so all three of them can see where they wanted them to go. "Come on, we gotta make it!" Mighty said as he was running with them so they can have someone to get past a fan if they are spotted while they tried to escape.
After a few seconds of running, they finally got to the exit, Espio and Charmy meeting them there, Mighty holding out his hands as Espio ran to him and jumped in his arms, kissing his lips passionately, Mighty kissing back. Charmy gagged a bit and sticks his tongue out in disgust. Sonic and Shadow laughed a bit at Charmy's reaction. Espio broke the kiss and pointed to where they had to go. "Go over that bridge, and you will be able to go back where you entered, this is goodbye for now" Espio said as he smile. "Hope to catch up with the other gay couple we know, but we gotta scram ourselves, bye!" Mighty said as he grabbed Charmy's hand, the bee lifting them up and flying to where Vector is.
"Let's get out of here before more of them show up" Shadow said as he picked up Sonic and ran with him to get to his motorcycle hidden under the bridge on the other side. Sonic held on tight as he heard the fans' voices and screams getting closer a bit. "Don't let go once I put you on that motorcycle, I am flooring it and not stopping" Shadow said as he jumped down under the bridge and puts Sonic on the motorcycle, hearing the fans closing in as he gets on, starts the engine, and drives up the hill, with Sonic holding on, as the fans got there, they saw Shadow's motorcycle jump high from the way it was moving so fast, immediately landing on the ground and driving away real fast, the fans giving up their chase for the hedgehogs and the photographers finally stopped as well.
Sonic was holding on while he looked ahead. "I am not coming to Station Square for a long while!" Shadow yelled from the engine being loud. "You owe me a chilidog!" Sonic yelled as he held onto the handles while Shadow and Sonic no longer were near Station Square, booking it home. "Fine! You have yourself a deal, let's just get home and away from them!" Shadow said as he kept driving. Sonic smiled a bit, knowing he was getting a chilidog later, but at the same time smiling from how Shadow protected him from the fans he was desperate to escape from, knowing he too can count on Shadow helping him after all, the hedgehogs still riding to their house that they will be safe in and away from the paparazzi that they wanted to avoid all along.
