"Oh Maeve, stop crying!"
Maeve sniffled, laughing as Derek leant over and wiped away her tears, "I can't stop crying, leave me alone! she's so beautiful, you guys."
Jamie let out a loud scoff, stretching out on the hospital bed earning a whack from his wife, "She's my child, of course she is."
"Our child," Amara corrected, cradling the bag of French Fries Maeve had bought her.
Archie grinned knowingly at Maeve and Derek, waving gently down at the tiny baby in her godmothers arms, "Ive heard that argument before."
Derek rolled his eyes at Archie, turning to the new parents, "What's her name?"
"Eloise Maeve Walsh," Amara smiled tiredly.
Maeve blinked up at the couple, "Really? After me?"
"No, after the other Maeve we know," Jamie waved her off, laughing at Maeve's affronted stare, "Yes, after you! You've proved yourself worthy of godmother and middle name rights after raising your three rugrats."
Archie nudged Derek's shoulder competitively, "Which one of us is godfather then?"
"Neither of you," Jamie said mischievously.
Archie and Derek looked to each other in surprise, asking in unison, "Who?!"
"You are my firstborns godfather," Derek reminded, smirking at Archie deviously, "And I raised three kids. Who's better than me?"
Maeve rolled her eyes, handing Eloise back to Amara before Derek and Archie started fighting.
"I have been a fine Godfather to Luna, thank you very much," Archie reminded bitterly, "And I'm a lawyer."
"What does being a lawyer have to do with it?" Derek scoffed.
"You, have two other children which I'm not godfather to," Jamie said pointing at Derek, turning the point to Archie, "And you won't tell me who your boyfriend is. So neither of you are getting it!"
"We haven't given the twins godparents yet!" Derek protested sourly.
Jamie raised his brows, "And who are they going to be?"
"Stiles and Cora for Freddie Peter and Jazz for Rory," Maeve butted in before Derek could say anything.
Jamie hummed, turning to Archie, "Anything to tell us, Archibald?"
"Not if you call me Archibald," Archie grumbled.
Maeve shared an amused look with Amara before stating, "Archie's dating my old partner, remember Collins?"
"How the hell did you know that?" Archie exclaimed, looking at the now awake baby apologetically, "Sorry!"
"I'm a detective," Maeve pointed out obviously, "Just tell us who her godfather is and be done with it, James."
Unluckily for Derek and Archie, Laura burst through the door with a baby basket and a collection of balloons.
"Seeing as Luna has two godfathers, it's only fair my daughter has two godmothers," Jamie grinned, "Laura is also Ellie's godmother."
Derek and Archie couldn't of looked more offended.
"You chose your ex girlfriend after us?!"

"Chris!"
Maeve hammered against the door, impatiently stood outside of the Argent apartment. She'd grown sick and tired of Allison hiding away, so Maeve took it upon herself to go to them instead.
"Took your time," Maeve rolled her eyes as the door swung open, barging past her confused uncle, "Allison!"
"What are you screaming for?" Chris sighed, following after Maeve.
"Allisons ignored me for too long," Maeve pointed out, setting herself down on the couch as she let out a yawn, "Allison!"
"Tired?" Chris asked in amusement.
"Exhausted," Maeve muttered, "Running after toddlers is not the same when you're human."
Chris blinked in surprise as Allison hesitantly walked out of her room, he hadn't expected her to come so willingly, after all she had avoided Maeve since she got hurt.
Maeve smiled assuringly at Allison, "Hey, it's nice to see you."
"You too," Allison said shyly, sitting down beside Maeve.
Barely a minute passed before Allison burst out into tears, "I'm sorry sorry!
It's all my fault, you could've died!"
Maeve quickly swept Allison into a hug, "But I didn't. If that sword got to you, you wouldn't of survived. I couldn't take that risk. I made that choice, Allison. It's not your fault."
Chris watched the girls he raised with a sad smile, Allison had been racked with survivors guilt and hopefully Maeve could help her best it.
"You're sure? You don't blame me?" Allison stressed, "You were so hurt, Maeve, you were away from your kids for months."
"You, Celestine Allison Argent, have a long amazing life ahead of you," Maeve argued, "I'd rather spend months hurt than a life without you, okay? So no more blaming yourself!"
Maeve looked over Allisons shoulder to look at Chris, he silently thanked her. After a while Allison finally untangled herself from Maeve, allowing her cousin to spot the boxes in the corner.
Maeve's gaze landed on a familiar photo, frowning, "What is that?"
"Kate's old things," Chris replied, carrying the cardboard box over for Maeve to see.
Maeve took the photo from the box, her heart beating rapidly - she couldn't tell if it were fear or anger, "How does my ex know Kate?"
"Your ex?" Chris questioned, he took the photo from her and frowned, "Maeve, that's one of Gerard's hunters."
Maeve let out a shaky breath, standing from the sofa to pace around the room. The photo was burned in her mind, Jake with his arms wrapped around Kate and another shoulders.
"Oh my god," Maeve said in a panicked whisper, "No. no. No!"
Maeve felt like her world had been tipped upside, were those years a lie? Was she in danger and she had no idea?
"Maeve, it's alright-" Chris started gently.
"It's not alright!" Maeve shouted, blinking back tears, "I let this man in my life, around my kids! He could've killed us! I believed him - I - I thought he loved me."
Chris and Allison shared a nervous look, they knew they couldn't snap Maeve out of her freak out.
"I'm going to kill him!" Maeve fumed, storming towards the door.
If she didn't, Derek most certainly would.
Chris rushed after her, catching her arm before she could leave. Maeve glared furiously at him but didn't have the strength to pull away.
"Let's think about this rationally- you're still hurt and you definitely cannot fight anyone," Chris reminded, "We will get him to talk, but running in there trying to kill him will only get you hurt."
Maeve sighed in defeat and stepped away from the door, a sudden glint reached her eyes and she hurried to grab her phone.
"What are you doing?" Chris asked, watching as she practically punched at the keyboard.
Maeve grinned as she hit send, "Getting him arrested."

Maeve and the Argents arrived quickly at headquarters, no doubt breaking multiple speed limits along the way.
Maeve was debating telling Derek what was happening, but if he knew Jake would be dead before they could reach him.
Maeve's boss, Olivia Queen, rounded the door, staring at Maeve disapprovingly, "Maeve, sick leave does not mean you can call in arrests-"
"It's personal, Olivia," Maeve argued, looking at her hopefully, "I wouldn't do it if I didn't have to."
"My uncle Chris Argent, his daughter Allison," Maeve introduced quickly, hurrying off to the cells without them.
"Always causing trouble that one," Olivia rolled her eyes before smiling at the Argents, "Nice to meet you."
Chris smiled back, "You too. You're Maeve's boss?"
"I am," Olivia answered, leading them down to the cells, "Though Maeve seems to forget that sometimes."
"Maeve has a alpha mentality," Chris chuckled, "Has done her whole life."
Olivia laughed, motioning to Jakes cell, "But she is a good worker, best we have."
Jake let out a sigh of relief as Maeve entered the cell, "Maeve? What the hell is going on?"
Before he could say another word Maeve raised her fist and punched him around the face, her hand felt broken but so did his nose - a job well done.
"Ow!" Jake cried, holding his hand over his bleeding nose, "What was that for?"
"You're a hunter!" Maeve seethed, going to punch him again but Chris had finally reached her, catching her fist mid air.
Jake turned ghostly pale, but Maeve it wasn't out of fear for her, it was someone else.
"Did Kate put you up to it?" Maeve questioned darkly, those in the other cells watched curiously, "Jacob! Tell me right now or I swear I will kill you."
"Agent Hale," Olivia scolded, "We gave guidelines. You cannot threaten a prisoner."
Maeve stayed silent, but glared daggers at Jacob.
"Yes! Kate had a plan, I was just a pawn in it," Jake admitted uncomfortably, "I did like you. I swear, I did-"
"Shut up," Maeve hissed, "What did she want you to do? Kill me? Kill my kids?"
"Kate wanted you away from the Hales," Jake informed her, "She wanted you back with the hunters."
"What? To control me?" Maeve frowned, "She hates what I am, why would she want me back?"
"She thinks the Hales kidnapped you, that they're controlling you," Jake explained, "She thinks if she has you then she'll have Chris and Allison back."
"Thinks? She's dead," Maeve reminded, turning to leave.
"Maeve," Jake warned, "Kates still alive."
Maeve couldn't take another bombshell, her emotions were already overwhelming and all she wanted in that moment was to cry.
Maeve let the door slam behind her as she hurried out, her vision blurred by her tears. Chris hurried after her, tugging Maeve into a hug.
"It's alright," Chris comforted, "We won't let her hurt you."

It was just shy of midnight when Derek returned home from meeting with Isiah and his pack. Maeve wanted to tell him about Kate, but she didn't want to worry him ontop of all the new changes happening in their life.
"How did it go?" Maeve asked hopefully.
"I accepted," Derek answered, breathing heavily as he sat on the bed beside her, "When the time comes, I will merge his pack with my own."
"Thank you," Derek murmured, kissing Maeve's forward as she leant forward, resting her head on his shoulder.
"What for?" Maeve asked, tracing his chin.
"Believing in me," Derek replied, "I wouldn't of said yes if you hadn't encouraged me too."
"Of course I did, you're perfect for the job," Maeve pointed out, tugging Derek back to lay down.
Before Derek could argue ( which he would've ) Maeve kissed him silent, curling her arms around him as he hovered over her.
"I know what you're doing," Derek muttered between kisses, rolling his eyes as Maeve's hand undid his jean button.
Maeve grinned up at him, tugging his shirt off and tossing it to the floor "Is it working?"
"Possibly," Derek hummed, carefully sliding a hand under Maeve's shirt as she kissed along his jaw.
Maeve's breath hitched as Derek drew her closer, wrapping her legs around him, kicking away Derek's trousers.
Maeve laughed as Derek flipped her over, staring up at her lovingly as she straddled him, "Now I'm distracted."
Maeve slowly blinked awake, staring at Derek in confusion as he hurried out of bed, quietly pulling on a shirt, "Whats going on?"
"There's someone in the house," Derek whispered, Maeve's eyes widened, rushing out of bed.
Lifting up her pillow, Maeve grabbed onto one of the knives she'd taken from Chris' apartment.
Derek paused as he reached the door, raising his brows at the knife over the pillow, "That was under your pillow?"
Maeve shrugged, twirling the knife in her hand as they hurried out into the hallway, "What? I don't have claws anymore, Derek."
"So we have knives," Derek sighed.
Derek being Derek, bolted across the hallway and after a moment of bickering walked back with Luna in his arms, Malia trailing behind him grizzling under her breath for being woken.
Isaac poked his head around his door, looking around in confusion at the commotion.
"Someones in the house," Maeve warned, following Derek down into Dean's room.
"Dean wake up!" Derek whisper shouted, shoving his brothers shoulder.
"No," Dean groaned, hiding his head under the pillow.
Derek rolled his eyes, setting Luna down beside his uncle, "Fine, be murdered."
Maeve turned to Isaac as she and Derek left the room, "Do not open this door. I'm getting the twins and then we're getting out of here."
Isaac nodded nervously, sliding the lock shut as Maeve and Derek hurried out into the corridor.
"I'lll check downstairs," Derek stated cautiously approaching the stairs, he glanced back at his wife, "Maeve-"
"I'll be fine," Maeve assured him, running up the stairs to the nursery as Derek set off downstairs.
Maeve felt her body go into shock as she entered the nursery. Freddie was out of his crib was quick to fling himself across the room to his mother, but Florence was tightly gripped in the hold of Kate Argent.
Maeve lost control of her senses, consumed by panic as she stared at her daughter wriggling in Kate's arms. She couldn't believe it, that couldn't be Kate holding her daughter. It couldn't.
But hearings Kate's voice rang through Maeve like poison, and Maeve knew it was too real.
"I heard a very interesting rumour," Kate started, smiling wickedly at Maeve, "I was greeted by not one, but two surprises!"
Maeve set Freddie on the floor, nudging him in the direction of the open door, hoping Derek would hear Kate's voice and come running.
"Why don't you put her down and we can talk?" Maeve stressed, slowly stepping towards Kate.
In Dean's room Isaac hung up the phone, glancing over at Dean as he woke up properly, "I called Talia."
Dean nodded, standing up to pace around his room in a very Maeve like manor. He suddenly stopped, a chill settling on his skin.
"Do you hear that voice?" Dean asked, stepping closer to the door.
"Uncle Dean?" Luna frowned, reaching out to hold onto Malias hand.
Malia was startled by the affection, but like Luna, it quickly brought her comfort.
"That's Kate," Dean gasped, quickly unlocking the door.
Luna clutched onto Malias hand as they joined the boys by the door, Isaac blinking in surprise, "Argent?"
"We're leaving," Dean instructed, picking up Luna who swiftly hit his shoulder.
"I'm almost 10 not a baby, I can walk!" Luna groaned.
"I don't care, I'm carrying you out of here like a baby," Dean argued leading them out into the hall.
If he learnt anything from having Derek raise him, it was that keeping your family safe was your first priority - and Dean wouldn't be taking any chances when it came to Kate Argent.
"Maeve said don't go," Malia reminded, hesitantly following closely behind Isaac.
"Maeve's a little distracted by her loony aunt right now, Malia," Dean grumbled, pausing at the bottom of the stairs of the upper landing.
"De?" Freddie's voice rang out in a squeak.
Dean and Isaac shared a panicked look before Isaac bolted up the stairs, holding out his arms.
"Freds, come here," Isaac whispered, trying not to get in Kate's eyeline, "come on."
Freddie toddled over, wrapping his arms around Isaac. They rushed downstairs away from Kate.
"Where's Rory and mummy?" Dean asked his nephew, sighing as Freddie pointed back upstairs, "Okay, everyone downstairs."

"You and I," Kate said breathlessly, practically squeezing Florence in excitement, "The family back together. This is your chance!"
Maeve honestly couldn't believe what she was hearing. This was the same aunt who tried to murder her on multiple occasions. Kate's gone insane. Truly insane.
"J- just give me the baby, and we can go-," Maeve played along, holding out her hands, "We can talk about this. Let's just leave Florence here and we can go."
Maeve sighed in relief as Kate went to pass Florence back, but Kate turned on her heels, pacing around the room.
"No," Kate argued, looking down at Florence with sudden realisation, "They're monsters, they can't live. We can't let them live, Diana."
Maeve felt a sudden adrenaline surge through her, she was going to murder Kate if she took another step with her daughter.
"They're children," Maeve reminded, "You want me? You won't get me if you hurt my kids."
Kate scoffed, glaring down at Florence, "That's how it is, isn't it? Always about your family."
"Well that's usually how families work," Maeve snarked, her fingers curling around the knife in her t-shirt sleeve, "A concept you never quite grasped."
Maeve slowly approached Kate, hoping she was distracted enough for her to grab Florence.
"Why do you want me back, Kate? The family name is ruined, the Argents legacy is gone!" Maeve taunted.
Kate clenched her teeth, she looked in pain, "No!"
"Having me back human won't cleanse what has been tarnished," Maeve pointed out, "I heard rumours about you too. The hunters won't accept the monster you've become!"
Kate's eyes started to glow, her grip on Florence loosening. She and Maeve were face to face,
"I know about Jake you crazy bitch. You're really that obsessed with me to get someone to be my pretend boyfriend? You wanted my life ruined so badly so you could feel better about your pathetic little life!" Maeve seethed.
"It worked, didnt it?" Kate growled.
"Not in the way you hoped. Because I'm still married and have more kids. So, your plan failed," Maeve glared, suddenly launching her knife into Kate's shoulder.
Kate stumbled back in pain allowing Maeve to grab Florence, backing out into the hallway.
Kate chuckled as she pulled out the knife, following them out into the hallway "That's cute, Diana. But I still have many plans. Who do you think locked Derek up in a temple? In fact, I have a whole group of hunters downstairs waiting for Derek right now."
Maeve couldn't hear heartbeats anymore to know she was lying

Luna glared at Dean as he set her down on the floor, her uncle and Isaac scanning the room before motioning for them to follow. Malia tried to shush Freddie who had been placed in her care and was quite intent on chattering away.
"Mom, mom, mom, mom," Freddie mumbled with a mouthful of his fist, Malia looked at him with a confused frown.
"Be quiet," Malia shushed, rolling her eyes as Freddie giggled back at her.
Dean and Isaac suddenly stopped, their attention landing on a hunter walking into the living room. Luna froze, no matter how many times she'd seen a hunter her fear remained the same.
"Go out the back door," Dean whispered to Malia who was closest to the door before running ahead to tackle the hunter.
Malia hurried off in the other direction, but Luna ran towards the kitchen where she could see her dads reflection in the window. She felt safer running to Derek than running out into the unknown.

"You didn't win," Maeve slowly backed down the stairs, trying to shield Florence from Kate, "who's the monster now? Ironic isn't it, I'm the human, you're the monster."
Dean slowly approached the stairs, staring up at Kate in disbelief.
Dean and Maeve's eyes locked, in an unspoken agreement Maeve put Florence down. Thankfully Florence climbed her way down the remaining steps at the sight of her uncle.
"Go, Dean," Maeve demanded, Dean couldn't deny that she looked murderous.
Kate looked smug, too smug. Maeve knew that look, she saw it whenever Kate won something. It all quickly dawned on Maeve, hurriedly glancing around for danger.
"What did you do," Maeve panicked, and with a strength she didn't know she still had, pushed Kate against the wall, "Tell me!"
Kate didn't fight Maeve's clenched hands on her shoulder, smirking lazily, "I forgot you weren't a fan of fire."
Maeve stumbled backwards, her back hitting the opposite wall. Surely she wouldn't do it again... not another fire. The pained screams of the first fire drowned Maeve's thoughts, and all she could smell was burning.

Dereks muscled burned as he grabbed onto a hunters gun, slamming it over the hunters head. As the hunter fell to the floor unconscious Derek took a moment to breathe, the house was surrounded and he was certain he'd been shot. Fighting off a group of hunters alone was no easy feat.
Peter was the first to arrive given he lived the closest, taking over against the hunters. Peter rammed a hunter over the fence and into the ocean, whirling around to look at Derek.
"Go! Kate's inside!" Peter shouted, rolling his eyes as he watched Derek freeze at the mention of Kate, "Go!"
Derek didn't have to be told twice, before he could reach the door the kitchen window burst open, black smoke trailing from the window followed by flames. Dread consumed Derek, he'd seen this happen before and he wasn't going to let it end the way it did the first time.
Luna fell back against the fridge at the impact of the blow, she slowly turned and let out a gasp at the flames quickly engulfing the kitchen around her.
She scrambled to her feet, reaching up for the kitchen door handle only to cry out in pain as her skin sizzled. The door was too hot for her to leave, but it was her only way out... the fire had spread so quickly in a matter of seconds.
She pulled her dressing gown over her mouth, coughing at the smoke filling the room. The window was shattered and big enough for her to get through, she just had to get past the flames to get to it.
Luna let out a nervous cry, her hands shaking as she tugged off her dressing down, draping it onto the flames running over the floor.
Broken glass dug into her skin as she pulled herself into the window sill, the heat was draining all her energy and with every move closer to the window glass dug further into her skin.
Luna blinked as she tried to look through the smoke, letting out a sob at the sight of Derek, "Dad! Dad!"
Derek had never ran so fast, his heart felt like it had been torn to pieces at the sound of Luna's cry's. He lifted her from the window, cradling her close as he hurried away from the house.
Derek's eyes flickered red at the sight of Luna's blood, he didn't even take notice of Laura arriving, taking Luna from his arms.
Laura frowned at the angry burn on Luna's hand, "Its alright, Lu, you're gonna be okay."
"Everyone's still inside," Luna panicked, "I don't know how much the fires spread!"
Laura caught Derek's arm before he could charge into the house, "Be careful!"
Derek nodded, running off into the house. Luna watched her dad run into the burning house, praying that he would come back out.
"It was a fire," Luna whispered in realisation, "The bad thing Kate did. She did it again."
Laura sighed sadly, "She did."
Malia had made it out of the house and out through the garden by the time the Stilinski's had arrived, Stiles dressed in his atrocious Star Wars pyjamas.
Stiles hurried over to Malia and took Freddie from her arms, which Malia was thankful for - she'd not quite got used to toddlers yet.
"Hey buddy," Stiles greeted softly, wiping away some ash from Freddie's forehead, "You okay?"
Freddie yawned in response, curling up against Stiles as his grandparents caught up with them.
"Where is everyone?" Elizabeth asked with a frown, staring up at the burning house worriedly.
"Inside," Malia said grimly, "Dean and Isaac went after Maeve and Florence."
"Ah, hell," Noah muttered.

Peter knocked the last hunter unconscious, turning to Talia who was staring at the fire in horror, "I'm going in there."
"No-" Talia protested, "You'll die in there!"
"Maeves in there, Florence is in there," Peter ignored her, charging towards the door, "Maeve risked her life to save me once, it's about time I returned the favour."
A loud bang echoed from inside, the front door fell from its hinges. Relieved breaths were released at the sight of Florence, Isaac and Dean leaving the house. Florence was hidden in Deans arms, his hoodie covering her face despite the burn marks on his arms.
Elizabeth was the first to reach them, grabbing her granddaughter to check for injuries ( thankful that there were none ) before glancing up at the house, "Are you two alright?"
"We turned around for one second and there was fire everywhere," Isaac panted, "It came out of nowhere!"
Dean coughed as Cora tackled him into a hug, "You're alright!"
"Just about," Dean said weakly, following Elizabeth and Cora away from the fire.
Sirens rang out in the distance, the firefighters ( led by Kieran no doubt ) were finally arriving.

The smell of smoke hit Maeve's senses, and suddenly Maeve was transported ten years back, surrounded by flames as she tried to save Derek's family. But she wasn't there, she was home. Her worst nightmare had happened again.
Maeve let out a yell of fury, Kate's eyes widened before Maeve was barrelling forward, pushing her with all her might against the window.
Those crowded around the house looked up at another window shattering, but instead of fire a body fell through the window and out into the ocean.
Stiles stared at the falling body in disbelief, "Was that Kate Argent?"
"She's not dead," Malia shrugged, "Apparently that's common around here."

Maeve breathed in the polluted air, coughing as she carefully walked down the stairs that were steadily filling with smoke. The fire was everywhere.
She watched the stairs collapse beneath her, screaming out as she fell to the floor below. The pain was agonising, but Maeve had no choice to ignore it - scrambling back was fire shot up the corridor.
Strong arms caught her, pulling Maeve to her feet and through into the next room. Maeve cried in relief at the sight of her husband, feeling momentarily safe in his arms.
"We need to get out of here," Derek shouted over the flames, covering Maeve's head as plaster fell from the ceiling.
"Derek," Maeve cried fearfully, "I love you."
"I love you too," Derek replied, his voice weak.
Neither knew if they would make it out, for all they knew, these could be their last words to one another.
Derek covered Maeve's body with his, hurrying down the small gap in the corridor without fire. The heat was consuming, Derek grew weaker with each step, pulling Maeve along with him. He had to get her out of there.
Maeve could see the open door in the distance, she could see the ocean and the clean air. They were so close.
A creak in the ceiling echoed above them, but as Maeve looked up, the walls were already crashing down around them.
Maeve and Derek were trapped, and they both knew it.
Maeve harshly collided with the floor, her head hit the wooden floor so hard she was certain it would lead to a concussion. Derek's body covered her own, the burning pieces of wall and beams falling on him.
Maeve coughed, wincing as she pulled herself up from the rubble - her body screamed at her for moving. Maeve shakily reached over to Derek, he lay on his side, unconscious under the rubble where she had just been stood.
Blood and burns scattered his body, Maeve's tried to crawl over to him but her body couldn't move.
"Derek?" Maeve said in a horrified whisper, searching from any response from him.
Derek didn't respond, his body wasn't moving. Maeve started to dig away at the rubble, ignoring the flames growing around her as she tried to get to her husband.
Maeve barley noticed Peter arriving, she sobbed as he pulled at her arms, trying to take her away from Derek, "No! Let me go!"
"Its not safe!" Peter argued, pulling Maeve into his arms, "Do you think Derek wants you to die in here?"
Maeve tried to pull away, to get back to Derek, "We can't leave him!"
"I'll come back for him!" Peter assured her, picking Maeve up off to the floor, "But I'm getting you out first!"
As Peter carried Maeve away, the final pieces of the upper floor fell down into Derek. Maeve screamed as Derek vanished from sight, it felt her heart had been ripped in two. It was worse than anything she had ever felt.
Maeve had leant about the pain many years ago, when Talia described how she felt like she was dying when her bond with Seth was broken.
Maeve sobbed in agony, the further away Peter carried her the less connected she felt to Derek. It dawned on her the only two causes of a broken bond was the true end of the relationship... or death.
"Derek!"
He went in there to save her, he scarified his life for Maeve's. Knowing that, it was just as unbearable for her.
Everyone turned at the sound of Maeve's scream. The flames were silent, Maeve's soul shattering scream consuming the air around them. Luna's heart dropped, clutching tighter to her aunt Laura. That couldn't be good.
"Derek!" Maeve screamed, Peter stopped in his path at the pain in her voice.
He knew. Peter set Maeve down, safely away from the flames as water shot through the windows. They were safe, but the same couldn't be said for Derek.
Maeve felt like she was moving in slow motion as Peter guided her away from her house, she recognised Luna sprinting into her arms crying for her father - but Maeve couldn't bring herself to focus on any of it.
"Is dad dead?" Luna gasped, looking up to her uncle pleadingly, "What's happening?"
Luna's statement earned the attention of their family, everyone had started to notice Derek hadn't made it out with them.
Maeve looked almost cationic in Peters arms, it took the twins wrapping their arms around her to finally snap into focus.
Tears rolled down her cheeks as she hugged her children, trying to ignore the whispers of her family wondering what had happened.
Maeve looked around in confusion as Peter inhaled sharply, "What is it?"
Stiles stepped forward, blinking in confusion, "It's a wolf."
Maeve's gaze landed on the former entry way of their home, there stood a black wolf with the brightest glowing red eyes Maeve had ever seen. She stumbled forward as her heart lurched, as the wolf moved towards them Maeve was hit with the familiar sense of home.
"Derek?" Maeve called out hopefully, holding her breath as the wolf stared back at her.
Slowly, the wolf transformed into a man, and Maeve was whole again. She sprinted forward on her injured legs, colliding against Derek healed chest.
"You're okay," Maeve whispered, "You're okay."
Derek stared down at her in shock, noticing her glowing eyes as she leant up to kiss him, "Maeve, your eyes- they're glowing."
Maeve ignored him, kissing him silent. As she pulled away, she grinned up at him.
"You just died and came to life and you want to talk about my eyes, Derek Hale? Wait, you've evolved!" Maeve gasped excitedly, her tears of grief turning to tears of happiness, "I knew you could do it."
"I've evolved," Derek mumbled still silently disoriented from the change, blinking in surprise.
Derek glanced over Maeve's shoulder, suddenly feeling very exposed under his family's disbelieved stares.
"Oh god, no," Stiles shrieked, covering his and Luna's eyes, "He's naked!"

Stiles tried and failed to appreciate the sunset rolling over the garden of Maeve's home, the fire had been put out and everyone was safe but the twins had woken from their naps and he was on babysitting duty.
"Rory, let go of uncle Stiles' hair," Stiles pleaded, letting out a yelp as the toddler yanked at another strand.
"No," Florence giggled, reaching out to grab another chunk of Stiles' hair.
"Please?" Stiles whined, lifting his head to try and ease the pain.
"No!" Florence exclaimed, twisting Stiles' hair to look like horns.
Noah snickered at the sight opposite, glad to have the 'peaceful' twin with him. Freddie cooed into the police radio, and Noah had no doubt that his deputies were getting a earful of his grandsons barely audible muttering.
Elizabeth sat down on the bench beside him, taking the radio from Freddie and replacing it with a teddy, "Really, Noah? I'm sure your deputies want to hear a one year olds babbling."
"I'm very impressed with my grandsons babbling, thank you, Lizzie," Noah teased, handing the radio back to Freddie, "I can brag to the station if I want to."
Elizabeth rolled her eyes fondly, "whatever you say."
Maeve was behind them fussing over Luna, her daughter having none of her mothers fretting.
"Mom it's a burn and a cut, I'm fine! Deans got a bald patch from the fire, go fuss over him!"
Luna took the chance to flee as Derek made his way over, now thankfully fully clothed. Stiles' screeching of 'my eyes!' Could still be heard miles away.
Derek curled his arms around Maeve, tracing the slowly healing cut on her hip. Maeve leant back against his chest, sighing contently.
Peter slouched down on the bench in front of them, chuckling quietly, "Would you look at that, we survived two fires, Diana."
"At least you were the one dragging me out this time," Maeve rolled her eyes, "Derek was obviously feeling left out and had to join in this time."
Derek playfully pinched her side, "I was not feeling left out! I saved your life."
"And you died," Maeve retorted.
"That wasn't my finest moment," Derek muttered.
"At least you weren't pregnant this time," Peter joked, "That would be too ironic."
