"I'll be gone for a few days, a week tops," Maeve announced as she parked the car outside the high school, glancing to her kids in the back seat, "So please, please, behave whilst I'm gone."
Luna rolled her eyes, "This isn't the first time you've gone on a raid, mom, we'll be fine."
"I know, but this is Stiles' first raid so I need to concrete on him," Maeve sighed, "I can't check up on you four every five minutes."
The kids had a habit of causing havoc when Maeve was away, knowing they could get away with it because Derek was in charge.
"Dads staying, right?" Freddie asked anxiously, jumping as Kit let out a loud sneeze.
"He'll be here," Maeve assured them, unbuckling her seat belt, "Lu, have a good day. You three with me."
Luna made her way towards her school as Maeve shepherded the youngest Hales towards the middle school across the street.
Sam was waiting for her on the steps, fiddling around with his recent camera project in his hand. A month in and Luna was certain he wouldn't be able to fix the damned camera.
Suzie barrelled up the steps behind her, linking her arm with Luna's and she let out a big breath.
"Alright, Suze?" Luna questioned, dodging Suzie's braids from hitting her in the face.
Suzie gathered her breath, grabbing Sams shoulder to keep herself steady, "Malia came for breakfast and volunteered to drive me here."
"And you nearly died?" Sam guessed.
Suzie nodded, "Mums never going to let her drive the car again once she sees the person sized dent in it!"
"Human sized dent?" Luna gasped, tugging Suzie up the steps, Sam trailing behind them.
"Oh, it was only Isaac," Suzie waved off.
"Only Isaac," Sam snorted.
"Any ways! Did you hear what Laura called the baby? Peter spat out his coffee when she called this morning," Suzie muttered excitedly, "Percy Patrick's isn't that bad..."
Sams eyes widened, "His names Percy Patrick's?"
"Percy Phillipe Patrick's," Luna corrected, smiling widely, "It's after Frasier's dad apparently."
"That's a bit of a mouthful," Sam winced.

Luna sat in the quietest corner of the library surrounded by books, a highlighter stuck in her hair and another between her teeth. She should be in economics, but after an lesson long battle about feminism Luna was banned from attending the lesson. She knew she probably shouldn't have called Coach a 'pig headed misogynist' but needs must.
Sam tugged the highlighter from her teeth as he slumped down on the chair beside her, "Keep going like that and you'll swallow that pen eventually."
Luna rolled her eyes, snatching the highlighter back, "Maybe then I'll get an excuse not to sit my exams."
"You know the days over right?" Sam reminded, looking around the empty library.
"It is?" Luna frowned, reluctantly looking up from her book.
"Up you get," Sam nodded, picking up her bag.
"But-" Luna protested, scowling as Sam took the book from her hand.
"No, no more revision," Sam argued, taking her hand to tug her off the chair.
"But-" Luna glanced longingly back at the library as he guided her out.
"Luna," Sam chuckled as Luna let out a defeated huff, "Suzie said you don't even have exams this month."
"Meaning I only have one months preparation," Luna added.
"Oh how silly of me, only a month?" Sam teased, moving through the busy hallway.
"Shut up," Luna grumbled.
Luna wished she was taller as she looked through the crowds of teens, suddenly clutching Sams hand as her gaze landed on the guidance counsellors office.
Sam frowned as he followed her gaze to the office, spotting the new guidances councillor, Monroe, he thinks.
"Sam," Luna said in a panicked whisper, "She's one from the woods."
Sam quickly pulled Luna out of sight through the main doors, "Are you sure?
"Certain. We can't be here if she is," Luna stressed, "We should get Kit and the twins, I don't know if they'll be a hunter there too."

Luna smiled nervously at the middle school receptionist, "There's been a family emergency."
The receptionist sent her and Sam a cautious glance but nodded her head. Luna regained her breath after all but sprinting over to the school, looking down the hallway she spotted Freddie and Florence sat outside the principals office.
Sam laughed loudly as they made their way over to the twins, "What did you do?"
The twins shared a look, chiming, "Nothing."
"Truth. Now," Luna demanded, looking eerily like her mother.
Florence huffed, rolling her eyes "I got into a fight."
"Florence," Luna groaned, "Mum told you to behave."
"Someone was being mean to Freddie!" Florence protested, her twin blushing in embarrassment.
Luna knew she couldn't argue that.
"We'll talk about this later, we have to find Kit then go home," Luna pointed out.
Luna and Florence walked ahead to where the preschoolers were on break, Sam and Freddie following.
"Why are we going home?" Freddie asked, running to grab his and Florence's backpacks from the lockers in the hall.
"There's a hunter at my school, there could be one here too," Luna stated truthfully.
Freddie nervously took a step closer to his sisters, Luna reached out and took his hand. Sam scanned the busy playground, spotting Kit running as fast as his little legs could take him towards rhem.
"What's the matter?" Luna asked in alarm, Kit practically scrambled to hide behind Sam.
"I accidentally knocked over that big kid in year five and they're going to kill me," Kit rambled through tiny gasps.
"Which one?" Sam scanned the playground, looking to where Kit had pointed "Oh. Yeah we better run."
Kit laughed as Sam picked him up, hurrying out of the playground away from the monster child.
"Samuel," Luna grumbled, tugging on the twins hands to catch up with them.

"Granny!" Florence practically launched herself in Elizabeth's arms as her brothers scurried inside to find their grandfather.
Elizabeth squeezed her back, kissing Florence's check as she finally got a look at her granddaughter, "Is that a black eye, Florence Lorraine?
"I am innocent, granny," Florence smiled, "It was a hate crime."
"You don't know what a hate crime is," Luna argued, hugging Elizabeth before walking inside.
Noah smiled warily at Luna, his grandsons already off playing with their ever growing pile of toys ( Elizabeth denies its growth )
"As much as I love seeing you kids, do I need to be worried about your parents bursting through the door ready to kill someone?" Noah questioned.
Luna sat down on her favourite armchair, smiling sheepishly, "No... well maybe. Moms away working with Stiles, so it'll be just dad."
"Somehow that's worse," Noah joked, kneeling down to help the boys in their attempts of building the Lego police station.
Like being summoned, Derek burst through the front door, Dean hurrying after him. Florence hurried into the house behind him, tugging Elizabeth upstairs in whispered pleads to cover her eye before Derek saw.
Luna, Kit and Freddie were somehow crushed into a hug by Derek, in the midst of her suffocation Luna waved at Dean.
Derek pulled away, scanning his children for injury, "Are you all alright?"
Kit wriggled out of Derek's hold, running over to Dean to show off their Lego building. Luna lounged back on the sofa whilst Freddie stayed clutched in Derek's arms a while longer.
"We're fine," Luna assured him, "We were out of there as soon as we saw her."
"We should have another training session in case you get caught by anyone," Derek muttered worriedly.
"We have to fight them off?" Freddie asked in alarm, clutching Derek's jacket.
"You won't have to," Derek added quickly, "Just the adults."
Freddie didn't looked completely satisfied with Derek's answer but nodded his head, hesitantly making his way over to play with Kit and Dean.
"Training group again?" Luna groaned, hiding behind a cushion, "But dad!"
"It's Tuesday," Derek reminded, "You know it's training group regardless."
"I don't want to go," Luna scowled.
"Funny that," Derek argued, "You're the one that needs it most."
His sons snickered as Luna protested loudly, "I have control!"
"Till you loose your temper," Derek pointed out, nodding at her glowing golden eyes.
Luna rolled her eyes, staring at him pointedly, "And who's fault is it that I have a temper?"
"Your mother," Derek answered, the whole rooms attention shifted to him knowingly, "Maybe me."
Kit let go of his lego car, looking to Derek in excitement, "Does this mean we quit school?
"For a little while," Derek replied, frowning at his youngest, "Why does that make you so happy?"
"The big kid won't kill him," Freddie stated bluntly.
Derek stared at his sons in disbelief.

"I don't know if your mom will like you wearing makeup so young."
Florence pouted, cradling Elizabeths makeup bag, "Please, granny, mom won't mind!"
Lorraine strolled into Elizabeth's room in a dressing gown that looked oddly like a cape and her hair up in rollers.
Despite being a werewolf, Lorraine's health started to decline with age now in her late seventies, so Elizabeth decided she would live with her and Noah and Lorraine could not argue against it. Doesn't mean Lorraine didn't complain about it.
"Let the girl wear makeup," Lorraine tutted lounging back on the bed, she waved Florence over, "This is not the first black eye we've had to cover is it, Elizabeth?"
Liz rolled her eyes, "All my black eyes were with good reasons. Like fighting my sociopath of a sister."
Florence grinned up at her great grandmother, giggling as the makeup brush tickled her cheeks.
"I distinctly remember you screaming across the yard 'Go on, kill me then!" Lorraine chuckled, frowning as Florence suddenly went ghostly pale.
Lorraine dropped the brush as Florence gasped for air, "Florence?"
They let out shocked breaths as Florence's eyes rolled back, her small frame falling back on the bed. Derek practically flew up the stairs at Elizabeth's shouts for help, stumbling to a stop as he took in the state of his daughter.
He had been warned of this, he expected it even. But seeing it happen was still terrifying. A seers body is consumed when having a vision, though painless for the seer it is a frightening sight for those around. The stronger the vision the more of a reaction it takes, it some cases going as a far to mirror the effects of a seizure.
Derek cradled Florence in his arms, gently stroking her hair as she blinked slowly, her blue eyes staring up at him. She didn't know what to expect a vision would be like, but certainly not as terrifying as that.
Florence looked around the room fearfully, her family stared back at her in concern. Luna felt a chill go down her spine at Florence's look in her direction, her younger sister growing even more frightened at the sight of Luna.
"Do you want to talk about what you saw?" Derek asked softly, shifting Florence's gaze from the worried states.
Florence quickly shook her head and buried her head in Derek's shoulder. She was frightened at the thought of her vision, she couldn't say what she saw. Florence didn't want it to happen.
Freddie quietly walked into the room, climbing to sit beside his twin. Florence blinked at him in confusion, smiling as he pulled her into a hug.
Noah gently led Luna back downstairs, glancing at his eldest granddaughter in concern, "Are you alright?"
"Yeah...that was just unexpected," Luna took a deep breath, "I wish she'd tell us what she saw."
"Give her time," Noah smiled sadly, "She just needs to come to terms with what she saw."
Kit looked up at them, not moving from his toys, "Why's everyone so sad?"
"Something scary happened to your sister," Noah answered, "But she's okay."
"Oh," Kit shrugged, grinning back at them, "Well, I'm happy."
Luna burst out into laughter, "Great optimism, Christopher."
"I don't know what that means."
"This is a very bad idea. Why is it always a bad idea with you?"
Luna snickered as she rounded Morrell's desk, digging through the draws, "Must be my never-ending confidence."
Instead of doing the smart thing and hiding from the hunter, Luna thought it was better to sneak into her office and gather all the information they could get. Naturally, Derek didn't know what they were doing.
"We're gonna get expelled," Sam panicked from his place guarding the door, "We'll never graduate- you'll never be a biologist and I'll never see the last season of greys."
"Great life aspirations you have there, Samuel," Luna muttered dryly, glancing at the computer, "Reckon I can hack in?"
"Given you're not a hacker, imma say no," Sam rolled his eyes as Luna powered up the computer, ignoring him completely.
Luna scanned the screen, blinking in surprise as the screen unlocked - hurrying to plug in her memory stick.
Luna grinned up at him, "She hasn't got a password! How can you be an undercover hunter and not have a password!"
Luna knocked over the desk lamp in her excitement, staring at the smashed bulb with wide eyes, "Oops."
Sam rolled his eyes, watching the hallway as Luna hurriedly saved the files off the computer.
"Uh, Lu," Sam mumbled, picking up on the hunters scent in the distance, "Time to go."
Luna snagged the memory stick from the computer, rushing to follow sam out of the office. She paused at the door, spotting a shiny knife hidden under a stack of books - curiosity getting the better of her, Luna picked it up too.
She reached out to grab his hand as they entered the crowded hallway, her cheeks burning red as she realised what she'd did. Sam pulled her through the crowds, both of them sighing in relief as they made it through the doors.

Eventually Derek got the truth about their school day from Freddie and Kit, along with a call from the school and a novel long email rant from Maeve Derek had to tackle the issue.
Freddie was a mirror of Derek as he sat with his arms crossed and brows furrowed, his stare on the floor as he and kit stood in the playroom with Derek crouched in front of them.
"Frederick, stop ignoring me," Derek scolded gently, Freddie stubbornly looked up at his father whilst Kit was more interested in watching the cat try and climb out the window.
"Listen to me. Nobody is allowed to hurt you," Derek stated, "If someone's mean to you at school you need to tell me so we can get it to stop. We can help you."
"Do we hit him back?" Kit asked giddily.
Freddie's eyes widened, "Mom said we aren't supposed to hurt people!"
"Well, you can ignore that when someone's trying to hurt you," Derek muttered, "Only if someone's not there too help. Sometimes standing up to the bully makes them go away."
Derek held up his hands, "You have werewolf strength, so you can't punch as hard. Punch my hand."
Freddie looked at Derek cautiously as he balled his fists, Kits face lit up in glee as Freddie punched Derek's hand.
Derek grinned at the gentlest punch he'd ever received, "Try again. You can punch a little harder than that."
"It'll hurt you," Freddie stressed.
"You'll have to punch a lot stronger to hurt, Fred," Derek reminded in amusement, "Especially to hurt a werewolf."
Kit lifted his foot and kicked Derek in the leg, Derek let out a groan, slightly amused at the strength of his youngest and human son.
"Like that!" Kit giggled, patting his dinosaur jumper covered chest, "I can punch him for you."
"We're not going up and punching anyone," Derek reminded, "Only if someone punches first. Got it?"
"Got it," the boys chimed
"Florence punched him first," Freddie pointed out, "Is she in trouble?"
"A little," Derek replied, "Florence has something called the Hale temper."

"Maeve, you don't have to come home," Derek assured her, holding the phone to his ear as he walked upstairs, "You're hours away, the kids know it's important."
"Are you sure she's alright?"
Derek knew Maeve hated working away, especially when the kids needed her. But Maeve was too close to solving this case with the hunters, she couldn't leave it now.
Derek knocked on Florence's bedroom door, "Im checking on her now, I'll get her to call you."
"Okay, but If she wants me home I'm coming back."
"I can hear Stiles stressing, go back to work," Derek sighed in amusement, "I've got it here."
Hanging up Derek walked into the purple explosion that was Florence's room, narrowly dodging the paper stars hanging from her ceiling. Florence looked up from her blanket cocoon, a deep scowl on her face.
Derek made his way through her room, stepping over the army of teddy bears she had on the floor.
"Want to talk?" Derek questioned, sitting on the bed beside her.
"No," Florence grumbled, rolling over to face the wall.
Derek rolled his eyes knowingly, crossing his arms as he sat back patiently, "Okay."
A few moments passed before Florence cautiously peeked at him over her shoulder, "Are you going to leave?"
"If you want me to," Derek answered, holding up his arm as she crawled to curl up at his side, "You don't have to tell me what you saw. I just want to know you're okay."
"I didn't like what I saw," Florence muttered, leaning against his shoulder, "It was scary."
"There's a chance it might not happen," Derek reminded, "It was your first vision, it's bound to be scary."
Florence frowned, a hopeful gleam in her eyes, "Really? It might not happen."
"You could tell someone when you feel ready, we can make sure it doesn't happen then," Derek pointed out, "But if you don't want to talk about it, no one will make you."
"Okay," Florence whispered, letting out a yawn, "I'll think about it."
Derek lifted her up and tucked her back under the blanket, "Get some rest. Do you want me to stay until you fall asleep?"
Florence nodded, using Derek as a pillow as he leant over and turned off her nightlight. Derek watched her eyes flutter shut and her breathing even out, he hated seeing her so frightened so young but he knew he would to everything to make sure she would be okay.
After Scott had completed his veterinary training Scott became a partner at Deaton's clinic, looking to take over now Alan was considering retirement.
Scott closed the final cat cage, smiling in amusement as the cat hissed at him. He'd never managed to get cats to like him.
Walking out into the front desk, his eyes lit up at the sight of his wife hurrying in out of the rain. He and Allison had married a few months previously, it was a small wedding in France ( Chris had moved there a few years back ) with just family and the pack, Florence was even the flower girl.
He and Allison's relationship had its up and downs, Allison wanted to study psychology in England to be closer to her father and Scott wanted to stay close to Beacon Hills - but they both wandered the distance work and two degrees later they had their own home in Beacon Hills and spent the summers in France.
Stiles and Lydia were another story, whilst Scott and Allison struggled and never broke up, Stiles and Lydia were off and on again constantly. Maeve had given up trying to track what was going on with the couple years ago, both Stiles and Lydia had their ambitions and goals, but Maeve had the feeling Stiles wanted to settle down and Lydia didn't.
Allison kissed him hello, glancing over his shoulder to the clinic where Luna was bandaging up a dogs foot, arguing with Sam that the only rational response was to take the dog home.
Whilst it was a rule in the Hale house that all pets had to be rescued and not bought after Luna accumulated too many cats for Derek to cope, Luna did not shy away from brining home strays.
"You bought home a stray chicken three weeks ago," Sam reminded, patting the husky's head, "Your dad can't cope with anymore pets."
"He let mum bring the ducks home," Luna pouted, sticking down the bandage on the dogs foot.
"When has he ever said no to Maeve?" Sam joked, leaning back against the counter.
Luna cradled the dog, "I don't care, he's coming home with me."
Allison laughed quietly, "They've grown up so fast."
"Feels like it was only yesterday Stiles and I were freaking out over Derek having a kid," Scott agreed, "Now he has four."
Allison glanced up at Scott hopefully, "Maybe we should have a kid?"
"What?" Scott squeaked, "Are you sure?"
"Well, it's a good time," Allison shrugged, smiling shyly, "And it would be nice, wouldn't it?"
Thankfully, Luna interrupted before Scott could muster up the courage to agree. Luna hurried out into the office, Scott rolled his eyes knowingly as she dug a knife out of her bag excitedly.
"Allison! Do you recognise the crest on this?" Luna greeted, clumsily handing the knife to her cousin.
Allison ran her hand along the metal, blinking slowly, "Where did you get this?"
"Stole it from a hunter at school," Luna answered, "Have you seen it before? I thought it looked familiar."
Scott glanced down at the knife, him and Allison suddenly sharing concerned looks.
"Luna, this is the Argent crest," Allison pointed out, "Dad and I don't use it anymore, who exactly did you steal this from?"
Luna grew nervous, looking to Sam, "Miss Morrell. But she's not an Argent?"
Allison tucked the knife into her bag, "Leave it with me, I'm sure it's not as bad as we think."

Luna and Sam walked out into the rain, Luna's new dog stubbornly hobbling behind them despite Sam's attempts at carrying him.
Luna scanned the dark street for Sam's car, she and Sam walked silently towards it. Luna tried to ignore the sudden tension between them, but it all came blubbering out. It was a bad habit she got from her uncle Stiles, Luna was a complete blabber mouth when it came to uncomfortable feelings.
"Somethings changed between us, hadn't it?" Luna blurted, her eyes wide as she realised she spoke.
Sam paused, glancing back at Luna, equally as frozen. He and Luna didn't talk about feelings, their whole friendship just flowed naturally - each time either of them were upset, they just seemed to know, nothing had to be said.
Luna blinked in surprise at his stricken look , "You feel it too, don't you?"
Sam let out a sigh and nodded. He remembered only weeks ago when Luna got hurt during training and he stayed awake all night worrying about her, that morning his grandfather looked at him with that knowing glint in his eyes.
Sam knew there was always something more to his friendship with Luna, none of his friendships were like it. He'd always put it down to knowing Luna for his whole life, but he'd known Suzie almost as long and they did not have the bond he and Luna did.
"How long have you felt like this?" Luna questioned.
"A while," Sam admitted, shaking out the rain from his hair, "The other night changed things."
"You didn't feel it till you kissed me," Luna realised, clenching her fists in frustration, "You shouldn't feel drawn to me just because of one stupid kiss."
She spun around to climb into the car, grumbling under her breath. If Sam had any feelings towards her at all, Luna didn't want it to be because of some supernatural mate bond. She wanted it to be real.
"Luna, I've always felt the pull," Sam argued, turning her back around to face him, "I just never knew what it meant. I thought it was friendship!"
"That's worse!" Luna exclaimed, thankful for the rain hiding the tears forming in her eyes, "You didn't like me before the pull. Now you suddenly do, that's not fair on me or you."
Sam stared at her in realisation, "Did you like me before the pull? You really liked me?"
"I think so," Luna gulped, avoiding his stare.
"How do you know that wasn't some mate bond pull either?" Sam argued, watching fondly as Luna's damp hair fell in front of her eyes.
"Because I think it's more," Luna admitted in a whisper.
"Luna..." Sam started, frowning as she turned away from him, trying to open the locked car door.
"Don't, it's embarrassing," Luna grumbled, her face burning red even in the cold rain.
"Not if I like you back!" Sam protested.
"But-" Luna froze, slowly turning back to face him.
"Would you stop being so stubborn and listen to me?" Sam started, smiling shyly, "Before you rant about how stupid fate is-"
"Well it is-" Luna grumbled.
"Let me do this," Sam interrupted, Luna's eyes widened as he stepped closer to her.
Luna's eyes fluttered shut as Sam kissed her. All the feelings came rushing back, the doubt suddenly fading. Luna knew she liked Sam, soulmate bond be damned. And Sam was kissing her... so that meant he felt the same.
"This isn't friendship, is it?" Sam breathed, pulling away as the rain filled the gap between them.
"No," Luna agreed breathlessly, reaching up to kiss him again.
It all made sense, everything. Luna could've laughed in disbelief, slipping back against the car, cradling onto Sam to keep her steady. Everything Maeve had said about the mate bond made sense.
Sam didn't care for mate bonds, he left the supernatural conspiracies to Luna. But even he couldn't deny that there was something more to the kiss, the bond between them suddenly strengthening.
A car honked its horn and splashed them with the rain as it drove passed, but nothing could part the teens.
Luna didn't care that they were in the middle of the street, in the pouring rain with Allison most likely watching excitedly though the window. Sam liked her back.
