Unluckily, Stiles and Maeve arrived to save Derek just as the swot team targeted him. Maeve was no stranger to raids, but Stiles... Stiles didn't take to weapons as well as they hoped.
Stiles' long list of injuries started the moment they'd made it into the warehouse, stumbling over a stray gun and falling flat on his face.
Maeve tugged him up, sliding a safety vest over his head before placing a gun in his hands, "Ready?"
"No," Stiles squeaked, but Maeve had taken off before he could reply, running after her into the fight.
They were 10 minutes into the raid and still hadn't found Derek when Stiles got himself shot. In the toe. Maeve could shamefully admit that she had been more focused on finding Derek than watching over Stiles.
Stiles' scream could barely be heard over the gunshots, Maeve whirled around and let out a sigh of amusement and dismay. Stiles dropped to the floor, his own gun laying abandoned beside him as he reached to cradle his foot.
"I've been shot!" Stiles howled in pain, turning ghostly pale at the sight of blood on his fingers, "Maeve it's bleeding!"
"Really?" Maeve mocked, crouching down beside him, "If people ask why you still need your big sister to come on raids with you, I'm telling them this is why."
Maeve knew it was only a matter of seconds before Stiles passed out at the sight of his own blood, she quickly tugged off her trench coat and wrapped it on Stiles' foot. Thankfully it was just his toe, Maeve thought, if it were anywhere else Stiles would be impossible to deal with.
"We have to find Derek quick so we can get that looked at," Maeve explained, patting his shoulder comfortingly.
Passing officers stared at the siblings in confusion, but unlike the Stilinski's they were professional on the job and left them to it, gun shots shooting all around them.
"Do you want me to take your pain now or later?" Maeve asked, "If it gets worse then it won't work as well."
"Leave me to die," Stiles wheezed, going glassy eyed, "Tell Lydia I love her."
"You broke up last week," Maeve reminded, reaching up to steal a helmet from a passing officer before placing it on Stiles' head.
Better safe than sorry, and it was almost certain Stiles would leave with another injury.
"Tell Lydia I love her," Stiles repeated stubbornly, his voice going shaky and the blood loss started to hit, "And that I want to marry her. I want to marry Lydia!"
"We all know that, Stiles, you've said that since you were eleven," Maeve grinned, "How about you don't die so you can tell her when you get home, huh? In fact, you can't die else you'll die broken up with her."
"No! I can't die!" Stiles protested and curled up beside her like a child, mumbling painfully, "Forget Derek, can we leave before I die?"
Maeve sighed impatiently, it was going to be a long night.
"Love you too, Stiles," Derek said dryly from behind them.
Maeve let out a gasp at his voice, whirling around to face him - thankfully injury free. It had only been days since they had parted, but Maeve missed him badly.
Maeve could've cried in relief at the sight of Derek, "Thank god!"
"Yay Dereks here," Stiles exclaimed sarcastically, "Now can we leave!"
Maeve ignored her brother and jumped into Derek's arms, hugging him tightly before pressing her lips against his. Annoyed at him she may be, but that didn't stop Maeve want to kiss him silly.
"Oh we're kissing now, great!" Stiles complained, shuffling as he tried to sit up, "Do you think it's an appropriate time for pda? I'm dying!"
Derek groaned against Maeve's lips, reluctantly pulling away to look down at Stiles, "Do I want to know?"
"I have been shot," Stiles seethed, glaring at his brother in law, "I expect at least some sympathy from emotionless zombies like you."
"Oh, we're snippy now," Maeve muttered, rolling her eyes, "Let's get him out of here before he resorts to violence."
"Like he'd do any damage," Derek argued.
Maeve and Derek shared a knowing look, reluctantly Derek crouched down and picked up the still wailing Stiles.
Stiles wriggled in protest but the couple were already hurrying out of the fight, it was only when Stiles' glanced down at his foot and saw more blood did he gag and swiftly pass out.
"We're here to save you, so don't you dare complain," Maeve told Derek knowingly.
"Do you know where we are?"
"Given I'm wearing a blindfold, I'm going to say no."
Luna blinked slowly as the fabric was tore away from her eyes, glancing around at her surroundings as Kate changed her to the wall. They were in a cellar of some sort, Luna didn't recognise it. The vent pumping wolfsbane into the cellar was likely responsible for her dizziness.
She was well and truly kidnapped, just her luck it was the craziest woman she'd ever met that had done it. Of course, this was not Luna's first time being kidnapped, but after six years of bliss she expected them to come to a stop.
"This was the Hale house," Kate grinned proudly, "Till I burned it down."
Luna scowled, "Do you want a 'well done'? Gold star for you, Kate, you killed a whole family."
Kate stepped back in surprise at Luna's malice, "Hmm, the puppy found its bark I see."
"More dog jokes, very original," Luna grumbled, tugging on the chains, "Are you going to get to the point and tell me why I'm here?"
Luna's confidence dropped at the crazed look in Kate's eyes, "I'm here to finish what I started."
—
Pack gatherings were always hectic, always. But the news of Luna being taken spread like wildfire and the pack was collectively freaking out. Whilst Dean, Malia, Cora, Scott and Isaac were off trying to find Luna's scent, the older members, Laura, Fraser and newborn Percy had gathered at the Hale house. Elizabeth, Noah, Jamie and Archie were all gathered at the station trying to find any leads.
"Derek is going to kill us all."
Hums of agreement around the dining room had been shared. They all knew Derek would loose it, whilst Maeve was always the panic first shout later type.
"Kill me more like, they were under my care for less than twenty four hours and one gets kidnapped and the other won't stop crying!" Peter argued, muttering under his breath, "Hale girls."
Laura glared at him in offence, kicking his shin under the table. Florence mimicked her aunts glare, curling to hug Laura closer, minding baby Percy in Lauras arms.
"Chris would you stand still?" Lorraine drawled, sighing at her pacing son, "Luna is very capable of keeping herself safe, we should be worrying about Katherine."
"Kate?" the pack cried in surprise.
Lorraine rolled her eyes, "Oh please, if someone in this family gets kidnapped its because of that loony."
"Back to the topic at hand," Talia interrupted, "Who's telling Maeve and Derek that Luna's gone."
"Luna's gone?"
Unluckily for the pack, Kit was a social butterfly and even asleep he sensed a meeting going on without him. The pack whirled around at Kits voice.
Kit and an almost asleep Freddie stood at the bottom of the stairs, looking horrified at the thought of Luna being gone.
"We just can't find her," Laura smiled assuringly, "She'll be home soon."
Freddie stared at them doubtfully, "Why is everyone so scared then? Why's Rory so upset."
Laura shot a panicked look at her husband, Fraser quickly ushered the boys out of the dining room, taking baby Percy from Laura.
"How about we leave everyone be so they can find her quicker?" Fraser suggested calmly, "We go up to bed now, when you wake up she might be home with your parents."
"Really?" Kit asked excitedly.
Fraser grinned, nodding, "Only if you're good and hurry off to bed until morning."
Kit was the first to run upstairs, but Freddie stayed hesitantly beside his fathers beta.
"Is Rory okay?" Freddie asked worriedly, "Can't I stay with her? I don't like it when she's upset."
Fraser ruffled Freddie's inky hair, leading him upstairs, "Your auntie Laura will look after her, I promise. Do you think you can watch over your little brother tonight, make sure he's alright?"
"Maybe," Freddie said uncertainly, "Kit wants Luna when he's upset."
"But you're his big brother, you can look after him just like Luna does," Fraser reminded, crouching down in front of Freddie as they reached Kits room, "I bet he will feel a lot better with you in there to keep him company."
Confidence flashed in Freddie's eyes, he slowly made his way inside kits room, smiling up at his uncle, "I'll look after him."
"Good lad," Fraser praised, holding onto his wriggling son tightly, "I'll put Percy down and come in and check on you."
Freddie watched his uncle walk down the corridor before heading inside Kits room. Freddie's confidence was always low without Florence at his side, but his brother needed him - and just like his father, Freddie would be there for his family even if he was scared himself.
"Mister, uh Mi- sorry, Mr Stilinski lost his toe due to the severity of the shot."
"It wasn't just a graze?" Maeve frowned.
"No, your brothers injury resulted in the shattered bones of his pinky toe and his wound was too dire for stitches," The doctor explained, "Hence, the amputation."
Maeve and Derek shared a look of dismay, knowing their trip home would now be far more difficult. The doctor made a quick exit spotting Stiles' distress. They had made it half way home before Stiles decided he couldn't go on any longer without any strong pain medication, since Maeve or Derek taking away his pain was 'simply not enough' if he bleeds out they ended up at the hospital.
Maeve winced as Stiles' sob echoed through the room, Derek rolled his eyes. In the too many years Derek had known Stiles, watching the human in pain got more dramatic with each incident.
"My toe!"
"Stiles, its alright," Maeve said, gently patting his shoulder, "You're all healed now."
"My toe is gone Maeve, I can't just sprout them back like you freaky lot!" Stiles exclaimed, mournfully gazing at his bandaged foot.
"We can't regrow limbs," Maeve argued, glancing over at Derek curiously, "Can't we?"
"What we know of," Derek shrugged, "Luna's gonna be upset she wasn't the one to remove your toe."
"Oh boo hoo," Stiles glared, "If she's jealous she can slice her own toe off!"
Maeve reached out for Stiles' prescription, wondering if anger was a side effect of his medication.
"Derek's safe, you didn't die," Maeve said optimistically, "Mission accomplished!"
"Mission accomplished," Stiles mocked in a girly voice, "Mission failed, Maeve, mission failed! I don't think i'm cut out for field work..."
Derek let out a sigh, knowing the argument was going nowhere, "Maeve got shot on her first day too."
"Derek!" Maeve hissed, blushing, "We were never to speak of that again."
"What? You did get shot," Derek reminded, pointing at the siblings, "Now you're leading the field ops. Stiles will get there, hopefully not leading any field op team."
"I think thats the nicest thing you've ever said to me, Derek," Stiles squeaked before turning to Maeve, "The meds aren't making me hallucinate, are they?"
Maeve let out a laugh, "No, Stiles."
—
Luna should've listened to Allisons warnings that Kate favoured electricity. She really should've listened.
"Stubborn like your father, I see."
Luna refused to give Kate the satisfaction of seeing her in pain, but that was quickly becoming not an option as the pain worsened. It had been the same for hours, and Luna was on the verge of breaking,
Luna had no idea what torture device Kate had her chained up to was, but god it hurt. Luna slid down against the war, choking on a sob as a painful wave of electricity ran though her.
She gulped back her urge to vomit, slumping down against the cold floor with her shaky legs no longer able to hold her up. If Luna was going to throw up, it would be all over Kate Argents bloody shiny boots.
Her eyes locked with Kate's, and all the woman did was smile.
"I'll keep going until you break," Kate hissed, "Everyone always breaks."
Luna lifted a trembling chin, "Try me."
Luna's scream filled the cellar. The Hale stubbornness could be a curse, as many times had proven, they could not get past their own pride and made things worse. Luna quickly learnt that lesson.
—
"Are we collectively agreeing that Kate did this?" Dean questioned the pack, "No other crazy argents lurking in the shadow?"
After all but being raised by Derek all these years, Dean had grown to become very similar to his brother. Derek didn't trust the pack under anyone else's care but deans, and one day Derek knew he would allow Dean to become alpha when he couldn't. With Derek gone Dean felt it was his role to be the man the pack and his family needed.
When Dean and the younger members of the pack returned home with no achievements in finding Luna they knew they had to come up with a plan and fast.
Lorraine slowly sipped at her tea, discreetly muttering, "Gerard can't be involved."
"Why not?" Chris asked his mother suspiciously.
"I killed him," Lorraine answered simply.
The Argents and the pack stared at her like she'd gown a second head. Chris blinked slowly, whilst his mother killing his father was certainly not abnormal for their family, he still found himself shocked it actually happened.
"You killed him?" Allison blurted, eyes wide.
"What? It was ages ago!" Lorraine defended, rolling her eyes, "He took Luna so I killed him, it's hardly of importance."
Peter let out a snort at her words, only Lorraine could find murder so trivial. The Hales watched the argument unfold, for once glad it was not their issues being hashed out over dinner.
"Can we circle back to you killing him? I think that's rather important!" Chris argued loudly, "Who knows you murdered him?"
"Elizabeth," Lorraine answered vaguely, "Helped me dig the grave, I think she danced on it too."
"Course she did," Chris sighed, rubbing at his temples, "Does anyone else know?"
"Your wife," Lorraine added quietly.
"My wife?" Chris exclaimed.
"I told you I didn't like that woman, Christopher, so I threatened her a little bit," Lorraine admitted, looking slightly embarrassed, "To test her."
Scott winced, he remembered Lorraine's test - it was fbi worthy investigation. At Allisons questioning frown Scott let out a sigh, apparently argent family drama was his family drama now.
"Oh my god," Chris groaned, glaring at his mother, "That failed didn't it, since I still married her."
"I suppose she's not as bad as Victoria," Lorraine sighed thoughtfully, "Why you married that crazy woman I'll never know.
"Mother-" Chris protested.
"She's still my mother," Allison exclaimed in offence.
"I think we've gone off topic here," Dean interrupted, "Gerard off the table, can we think of anyone else that would take Luna?"
After hours of discussing any reason for their past enemies to take Luna, they came to another empty conclusion. It had to be Kate.
Sam had taken over watching the kids, finding it unbearable sitting around knowing Luna was out there - but he knew he couldn't do anything till the pack decided wether he liked it or not.
Despite his full fledged panic, Sam knew Luna would rather him be making sure her siblings were taken care of than worrying over her ( which he would never stop doing )
"Kit, come on, it's way to late for you to be awake," Sam reminded, sighing at the small boy jumping on his bed.
Thankfully Freddie had fallen asleep on the bean bags across the room, but Sam was certain that was more of panic filled exhaustion. Florence refused to leave Laura's lap so Sam was stuck with newborn Percy in his arms whilst trying to wrangle Kit.
"I can't sleep till Luna's back," Kit declared, stomping his foot looking adorably stubborn in his shark onesie, "I won't!"
"Can we compromise? How about you get in bed and I'll let you have the iPad," Sam started, holding back his laugh at the way Kit shot down under the covers, holding out his hand.
"Can we FaceTime mummy?" Kit asked, happily taking the iPad from Sam.
"That's definitely not a good idea," Sam chuckled.
Maeve be ranting for hours about screen time, that's for sure. Sam suddenly was struck with realisation, they never found Luna's phone - maybe she still had it, if she did they could track it.
"I'll be right back," Sam told Kit before rushing upstairs to Luna's room, almost tripping over the collection of textbooks Luna had all over the floor as he searched for her laptop.
—
Downstairs they were at their last resort, it was time to get Florence to talk about what she saw. Dean protectively crouched in front of Florence, protecting her from the flood of questions.
Dean ignored the pack, staring up at Florence softly, "You don't have to answer all the questions, but if you know something that could help us find her it would really help."
Florence looked up to Laura for reassurance who nodded, she glanced at Issac sat beside her relaxing as he smiled down at her.
"Florence, this is really important so we can find Luna-" Talia stared.
Dean interrupted, glaring over his shoulder at Talia, "Give her a moment, Rory will tell us when she's ready."
Florence took a deep breath, sitting up in Laura's lap to face the pack, "Lu was chained up."
A nervous tension fell on the room, no one dared to speak knowing Dean would snap back in defence.
Dean nodded slowly, "Okay, well done, Rory. Can you tell us anymore, were they inside? Did you recognise anything?"
"They were inside," Florence nodded, "It was dark, and cold - like a cave!"
"Cave?" Peter mumbled in confusion.
"Do you mean underground?" Scott suggested.
"Yeah!" Florence nodded, "There were bars on the window."
"Could you see out the window?" Dean asked.
Florence shrugged, "It was dark, I think I saw trees? Maybe the woods..."
"Would you recognise the woods if you were there?" Talia questioned.
"Maybe," Florence muttered.
Dean turned to Talia sharply, "You're not taking Florence out there."
"If Florence recognises our leads then we're one step closer to finding Luna," Talia argued.
"No, I agree with Dean," Isaac piped up, hums of agreement echoing around the room, "Can't we just show her a photo?"
Dean stood tall as Talia walked around the table, approaching Florence.
She crouched down and smiled assuringly, "Florence, do you think you can find Luna?"
Florence nervously nodded, "Maybe, i don't know how my powers work yet..."
"This is a terrible idea," Peter argued, "We're searching for one kid we're not gonna toss another one into danger as well."
"Come on, Florence," Talia held her hand out for her granddaughter, Florence climbed off Laura's lap to follow.
"Mom you're not seriously going?" Laura argued, "Florence could get hurt!"
"You could get hurt," Cora added, glancing at the ceiling at the sound of commotion upstairs, "I'll check on the kids."
Malia and Isaac followed her upstairs, knowing if it came to bickering you need an army to intervene with these kids.
"You're not taking Florence to an army of hunters," Dean stated worriedly, "Maeve and Derek will never forgive you."
"They're not here, are they?" Talia reminded, "I'll protect her. They'll never forgive any of us if we can't find Luna before it's too late. I watched my family burn alive because of that woman, I burned alive! I won't let it happen again."
"We're all worried, Talia, we can't just run off into the crossfire!" Peter shouted at his sister.
"Especially when it comes to Kate," Chris agreed, "We need a plan."
"Great, you make one and I'll find her," Talia said dismissively, making her way to the door.
"Are you mad? you're not taking her anywhere!" Dean shouted, "Rory come here."
Florence stayed still, "I want to find Luna."
Florence frowned at her family, she couldn't understand why they were all angry. She was the one that could find her sister, why were they angry at her and Talia?
"Rory..." Allison sighed, "We will find her, we just don't want you to get hurt."
"But Lu is already hurt," Florence said stubbornly, "I want to find her."
With Florence's final word, Talia led them out the door. A moment of silence ran over the pack, realising they had really gone.
Peter was the first out of his seat, running after them, "Talia!"
Sam hurried downstairs with Luna's laptop, staring at the flustered pack in confusion, "I think I found a way to find Lu."
"Bit late, sweetheart," Lorraine hummed, "It appears we've decided to run head first into danger."
—
Maeve grinned at the sight of her home, wanting nothing more than to curl up in bed and sleep for a week. Maeve glanced around their land, it was odd for none of their many animals not to come greet them, even if it were the middle of the night.
Derek glanced back at Stiles highly medicated and asleep in the back seat, "I'm not carrying him in."
Maeve turned in surprise as the front door flung open, everyone should be asleep by now - she suddenly noticed the amount of heartbeats in the house, panic running through her.
Maeve broke out into a run towards the house, in a blink her boys were running into her arms. She kissed her sons cheeks, squeezing them tight in relief. Derek sensed her panic, hurrying over.
"Oh I've missed you two," Maeve exclaimed, eyeing them in concern, "Why aren't you in bed? It's the middle of the night."
Derek crouched down beside the boys, watching them frown worriedly, "Boys, what's happened?"
"Luna's gone!" Kit cried, burying his head in Maeve's shoulder, "Some bad lady took her and- and granny took Rory!"
Maeve and Derek shared a look of horror before Derek sprinted inside, looking around frantically before he found the pack. They stared back at him in disbelief, not expecting him to be home so soon. Maeve hurried in after him as quick as she could with the boys hanging off her like Koalas.
"What happened?" Derek demanded, only to be greeted by silence, "Someone tell me what the hell is going on right now."
Stiles stumbled in behind Maeve, blinking in a drugged haze, "Maevey one of your ducks looks suspiciously like a chicken...oh thats Scott - hi Scotty!"

Stiles' long list of injuries started the moment they'd made it into the warehouse, stumbling over a stray gun and falling flat on his face.
