14 years later
You are cordially invited to the wedding of Luna Talia Hale and Samuel Alan Deaton...
7 am
The Hale home was decorated to perfection, months of hard work and Maeve turning into the mother of the bride from hell paid off. The one thing Luna wanted from her wedding was for the ceremony to be held at her childhood home, Maeve made it her personal mission to make this happen ( Derek did not want to hear the word wedding ever again, despite it being his fault since he still had the inability to say no to his children )
Maeve and Dereks home was filled to the brim with their family and friends, with many of their family scattered around the country it was like guiding an army trying to find places for them all to sleep. Apart from Luna who'd declared her childhood bedroom out of bounds the moment she and Sam arrived from New York.
"Don't touch that cake!"
Kit froze, his hand hovering over the ostentatious wedding cake - tiny models of Sam and Luna included.
His spring break of senior year had been completely taken over by Maeve and Luna's wedding antics and the nineteen year old had spent the whole weekend pouting about it with his father. Maeve didn't appreciate that one bit.
Maeve glared daggers at her son, "Ruin that cake, Christopher, and you'll never hear the end of it!"
Kit held his hands out innocently, "No crime committed here, officer."
Maeve rolled her eyes, storming up the stairs with her heels causing a loud clunk. Derek spotted his wife on the warpath and walked in the opposite direction, hoping to find his friends and some alcohol to get him through the day even if it was barely breakfast time.
Kit noticed Derek and hurried after his father, sliding down onto one of the deck chairs, "Moms gone completely mental."
"I've had thirty years of this," Derek sighed as he sat down, motioning to the busy house, "This is nothing."
Kit snorted, raising his brows teasingly at his dad as Luna's cat came crawling onto Derek's legs. Derek glared and stubbornly petted mischief, also known to Derek as the cat who wouldn't die now older than the twins at 21.
Sam poked his head around the door, looking utterly terrified, "Is it safe out here?"

Freddie gasped for air, looking around in shock with his black hair pointing in all directions, "Mom?"
Of course, Maeve thought a pillow across the head was an appropriate way to wake her eldest son. Freddie had retreated to his room late last night to sleep away the drama and had been dead to the world until Maeve woke him.
"Where's Florence?" Maeve questioned, "She was meant to be dressed and ready an hour ago. She's the most important bridesmaid, she has to be ready!"
"I thought Claudia was the most important bridesmaid?" Freddie yawned, reluctantly climbing out of bed.
"Claudia is the flower girl," Maeve corrected, "Florence is the maid of honour, she's meant to be keeping Luna calm."
"Luna's freaking out?" Freddie frowned.
"No, she's suspiciously calm. Do you know where your sister is?" Maeve repeated.
Freddie frowned, scrolling through his phone for a sign of Florence but at her hectic Snapchat story of the night before he quickly locked his phone before Maeve saw.
"She went out last night," Freddie shrugged, at the flicker of anger in Maeves eyes he steered her towards the door, "Mum, breathe - Have you eaten yet?"
"No," Maeve muttered, glancing back into his room "Must you live in such a mess, Fred-"
"Right, breakfast then," Freddie interrupted.

8am
Breakfast was not a good idea, for the youngest of the Hale pack had risen before their parents and were raising havoc in the dining room under the supervision of Peter, Stiles and Dean.
Supervision was not part of their skill set.
Maeve sat with her face in her hands, breathing deeply as she ignored her eldest sons laughter beside her. Both of their breakfast lay forgotten in front of them. Freddie checked his phone under the table and continued his text argument with his twin, reminding her that today of all days was not a day to test her parents patience.
Nine year old Lilah Lahey let out a yell of fury, her blonde curls practically vibrating as she glared at her cousin. Percy Patrick's had the playful Hale smirk on his face as he waved Lilah's doll too high for her to reach.
Lilah inherited her mother, Malia's, temper as she reached out and tugged on Percys messy ginger locks trying to grab her doll.
"Auntie Maeve, Percys being mean!" Lilah complained, standing on her chair to try and push Percy over.
At 13 years old, 4 years older than his cousin, Percy's height took advantage as he pushed Lilah off her chair instead, "It's her fault, auntie Maeve!"
"No it's not, auntie Maeve!" Lilah fumed, stomping her foot on the floor as she looked up to Peter innocently, "Make him stop, grandad!"
Peter raised his brows in amusement, sipping his coffee, "Just hit him and be done with it, sweetheart."
Across the table, Claudia Maevey ( yes, maevey ) Stilinski took Peter up on his suggestion.
"Claudie do not hit Otis!" Stiles shouted, catching his daughters fist before it pummelled poor Otis Isaac Argent-McCall in the face.
At five years old Claudia was really coming into her personality, and it appears she and her aunt Maeve had a similar lack of patience with the males in their family. The McCall boys tested her patience until she blew, radiating in anger that matched her wild strawberry blonde hair.
Hugo Derek Argent-McCall fell back in his chair as he laughed at the terrified look on his younger brothers face. At thirteen years old he was the mirror of his father, floppy brown hair falling in front of his brown puppy eyes.
They'd all been shocked when Scott named his son after Derek, but when finding out Allison was pregnant Derek was the first person Scott went to and they had bonded over fatherhood and their old rivalries had faded.
Six year old Otis took more after his mother, with pin straight dark brown hair and blue eyes like his grandfather.
Maeve slammed her hands down on the table, silencing the children, "If you all can't behave then there won't be any wedding for you to attend!"
Three year old Diana 'Annie' Erica Hale gasped, blinking up at her aunt with wide eyes.
"But pretty dress!" Annie pouted, sitting sulkily on her father, Dean's, lap.
Maeve smiled and reached over, taking Annie from Dean before carrying her out of the dining room, "Don't worry my angel, you're not in trouble like those devils."
"Devils?" Claudia screeched, running after her aunt, "Auntie Maeve I would never!"
"Stop stealing my child!" Dean called after Maeve.
Stiles leaned back in his chair and sighed, "She can take mine."
11am
"Twenty one and you still can't tie a tie," Eloise rolled her eyes, whispering as she knotted the tie, "did you tell her?"
Jamie had arrived early to distract ( annoy ) Derek, but Maeve had him sent to work with helping set up the marquee the moment he stepped through the door. His daughter, Eloise, had avoided Maeve's war captain instructions.
Freddie's eyes widened, quietly shaking his head trying to silence her. It had only been a few months since Eloise had been informed properly that her second family were supernaturals, and she was not quite accustomed to supernatural hearing.
Eloise's red lips parted in realisation, they both awkwardly turned to where Maeve was stood across the room.
"Tell me what?" Maeve stated, squinting suspiciously at her son.
Eloise nervously backed away, pointing at the door, "I'm gonna go, uh, find Florence."
"Don't you throw me to the wolves, Eloise," Freddie said through gritted teeth, trying to pull her back.
Eloise grinned and patted his chest, "You're a wolf, stupid, you'll be fine!"
She dashed out of the room before Freddie could catch her, he rolled his eyes as he heard her laughter as she ran down the hall. Maeve stopped fussing over Kit's attire and approached her eldest son.
"Frederick," Maeve started, Kit and Derek paused in place at the tone of her voice, "What did you do?"
"Well, you see," Freddie scratched his chin awkwardly, "When the stag and hen dos met up the other night, it all got slightly out of hand..."
"Here we go," Kit grinned playfully, lounging back on the sofa.
Derek let out a groan, knowingly hovering closely beside his wife, "What did you do?"
"I, uh," Freddie stammered, looking for an exit route.
"Frederick Stiles Hale," Maeve said warningly, "What. did. you. do?"
"Ellie and I, uh, whilst not - not in a sober mind, really not in a sober mind," Freddie rambled,
"Might'vegotmarried - well, eloped? No that's the same thing... we got married! Not on purpose! But married...You know, the vows, ring, the whole show really-"
Freddie was not the party type, he joked that Florence stole his party genes in the womb ( for she partied enough for all of her siblings combined ) He promised Luna that he would join in with the party, and since they didn't learn from their parents mistakes of spiking their drinks with wolfsbane, Freddie got absolutely black out drunk.
Waking that morning naked and married to the girl he had a crush on forever was the shock of his life. Florence had found the whole thing hilarious when her best friend and her twin came to her in a panic, celebrating that Freddie had finally done the most un-freddie thing and did something she was likely to do.
"YOU GOT MARRIED?" Maeve all but howled loud enough for the whole family to hear, "What do you mean you got married? You're not even dating!"
Maeve was on edge with organising this damn wedding, but now this topped it all. Derek couldn't even start to comfort his wife when he came to a startling revelation.
"Mum-" Freddie started, glancing at a ghostly pale Derek in concern, "Dad? Are you alright?"
"Jamie's legally family," Derek groaned, sitting down beside Kit with his head in his hands, "Someone call Chris and tell him to shoot me."
"Head or heart?" Kit teased.
"Both," Derek grumbled, closing his eyes as he sighed.
"Tough luck, uncle Chris isn't allowed to shoot you anymore," Kit pointed out.
"Did you sleep with her?" Maeve questioned insensitivity.
"Mum!" Freddie whined, glaring at his mother, "What did we say about boundaries!"
"Maeve-" Derek agreed, but looked to his son curiously, "Did you?"
"Yes!" Freddie huffed, scrunching eyes shut in embarrassment.
Kit watched with the upmost glee.
"Did you use protection?" Maeve questioned.
Freddie stared at her blankly, "You are not the one to have this conversation with me."
"Oh for gods sake, will you ever let that go?" Maeve exclaimed.
"Are we just supposed to ignore Luna's existence then?" Kit argued, blinking in confusion.
Maeve pointedly ignored him and continued her rant, "So you didn't. Not only are you married, you might become a father - fantastic! You know the Hales are a very fertile family, don't you?"
"Please stop talking," Freddie pleaded, his father humming in agreement.
Kits laughed rang through the room, "At least I won't be the family disappointment."
"Kit!" Maeve scolded.
"I think dad did that," Freddie nodded teasingly at Derek, "Teen dad."
"Boys," Maeve glared, rolling her eyes as Kit stood from the sofa, immediately towering over her.
"So as long as I don't knock someone up before I graduate I'm good to go?" Kit asked his parents.
Derek shared a look of dismay with Maeve and nodded.
"Great!" Kit laughed and turned to leave.
"Hold on a second youve just started senior year, you shouldn't be thinking that!" Maeve called after him.
It's okay mum, you can say it, sex," Kit teased, "I'm a senior, it's exactly what I should be thinking about. And I'm not the one who got married in senior year."
"Christopher!" Maeve rolled her eyes in annoyance.
Kit turned to his dad and pointed the garden, "Want to play some basketball?"
"Yes," Derek agreed, quickly following his son out of the room.
"Coward!Don't you ruin the table displays!" Maeve shouted after her husband and turned back to Freddie, "I cannot believe you."
Freddie sighed and sat on the couch, "I know."
"I'm not angry, i'm just shocked," Maeve muttered, wrapping her arms around him as she sat beside him.
"Me too," Freddie agreed, leaning his head on Maeve's.
"Married or not, I still love you," Maeve stated, "So tell me what's got you brooding like your father? Are you not okay with this?"
"Its not really how I wanted things to go," Freddie shrugged, "Ellie didn't deserve to wake up married to me."
"Stop that," Maeve interrupted, kicking his foot, "Anyone would be lucky to be married to you. Frederick, Eloise hasn't ruined her life because she married you, I cant imagine a better person that could be married to you."
Maeve smiled as Freddie's scowl faded, "How's things with Eloise?"
"Its a bit awkward," he admitted, "We're gonna try and give it a go."
"Thats good, right? You've liked for for, well, forever," Maeve reminded.
"She knows that now, Rory screeched it when we told her what happened," Freddie pointed out sheepishly, "But I think she likes me back."
"Florence has no subtly," Maeve laughed fondly, "You know where Florence is, don't you? Fred."
"She's, uh, dating someone?" Freddie explained, never able to lie to his mother, "I think so, anyways."
"Do we know this someone?" Maeve gauged.
"You've met," Freddie winced, "It didn't go well."
"Right. Is this real or Florence thinking its cool to date a bad boy?" Maeve questioned.
"Man," Freddie corrected, Maeve blinked in surprise, "She's said its real. Been going on a while apparently, she didn't even tell me incase I told dad."
"Derek's not going to like this is he?" Maeve sighed.
"Not one bit."
1pm
Maeve hurried through the busy corridors of the house, she knew it would eventually hit Derek that their daughter was getting married but she didn't expect him to disappear half way through lunch.
Maeve should've known that she'd find him in the garage, his cars became his new baby as soon as the kids were old enough not to depend on them.
"Hiding out in the garage?" Maeve questioned, watching Derek's head pop out from behind his car.
"The little devil scratched my car," Derek grumbled under his breath.
"Derek," Maeve sighed, going ignored.
"I told him specifically he would never drive it again if he so much as had mud on the wheels," Derek told Maeve, pointing to the scratch like it was contagious "and look."
"We both know letting Kit drive your car was a bad idea," Maeve held back her laugh at the tiny scratch, "Will you stop deflecting and tell me why you're hiding in here?"
"Do you think Lu waited so long to get married because she saw how our marriage got messed up marrying so young?" Derek suddenly asked.
Maeve and Derek never pretended their marriage was perfect with their kids, but Luna was the only one to witness their really hard times. Derek had spent a long time worrying that it had effected her.
"Of course not," Maeve blinked, taking back by his question, "they've been together fourteen years, I don't think Lu would care if they ever got married as long as they're together she's happy."
Maeve walked around the cars and wrapped her arms around Derek, "Our marriage was never messed up, I don't regret any of it either. Our lives were messed up, there's a difference."
"Yeah?" Derek said, taking a deep breath.
"Look at us now," Maeve grinned, "30 years strong."
"Are you sick of me yet?" Derek muttered.
"Oh, you drive me crazy," Maeve laughed, kissing him quickly, "But that's what I love about you, Derek Hale."
Maeve lowered her arms to his waist, guiding him to the door, "Come on, no more hiding. It's time you acknowledged your daughters getting married."
"And that our son is already married," Derek said dryly.
"Don't scowl, Derek, we could have grandchildren soon," Maeve pointed out giddily, a knowing glint in her eyes.
"I don't want to even think about being a grandad," Derek winced at the thought, "No, can't think about it. We're too young."
Maeve cooed, leaning her head on his shoulder "But they'd be so cute."
"Last time you said that about a baby we ended up with Kit," Derek grumbled, walking out into the hallway.
"And we love Kit," Maeve reminded.
"Sometimes," Derek argued, spotting him at the end of the hall, "when he's not abusing my car!"
Kit sprinted out of the hallway, not waiting around to see his dads rage.
2pm
Florence carefully applied her lipstick in the car mirror as they pulled up outside of her home, her boyfriend looked up to the busy house with a frown.
"Do you really think today is the best day to meet your parents?" Brandon asked, scratching at his beard.
Florence grinned, tossing her lipstick into her bag as she turned to him playfully, "You've already met dad."
"And that went so well," Brandon said dryly, "I don't think your sister would like a bloodshed at her special day."
Derek hadn't faced many problems with other packs over the years, but Brandon's pack had been an enemy to the Hales for years. It was only months ago Derek went against the alpha of their pack, the fight ended in bloodshed but Florence stumbled across Brandon trying to hide his younger brother.
Florence took pity on Brandon's brother and helped him escape, despite only earlier Brandon had left Dean bloody and broken out into the woods. She hated that she had developed a crush on the older man, but running into him at a bar months ago neither could deny their chemistry.
Barely a week of dating Florence influenced Brandon to take his brother and leave the pack, but she knew Derek would still see Brandon as the enemy. Werewolf from another pack forgotten, Derek would throw a fit at the thought of his 21 year old dating a 35 year old.
"Today's the perfect day, they're both so distracted with Lu they'll hardly notice us," Florence argued, linking her hand with his as they climbed out of his car.
"Thats a nice thought, love, but I don't think thats how it will happen," Brandon chuckled, tugging Florence closer to his side as they approached the house.
Florence held back a groan as she spotted Lorraine sat on the porch swing, whilst the two were the closest out of their relatives Florence knew exactly how Lorraine would react.
Lorraine's eyes lit up in excitement as she slowly stood from her seat, "Florence Lorraine who is this fine young man?"
"Brandon, this is my great grandmother Lorraine," Florence introduced.
Brandon reached out and shook her hand, Lorraine let out an amused laugh as he kissed her hand, "Lovely to meet you, Lorraine."
"Well, hello Brandon," Lorraine hummed, "Wherever did my granddaughter find you?"
Florence scowled, "Stop flirting with my boyfriend, nan."
"I will flirt with whoever I want," Lorraine rolled her eyes, holding out her arm, "Why don't you escort this old lady inside, hmm?"
Florence huffed as Brandon led Lorraine inside, sulkily following after them.
Lorraine glanced over her shoulder at Florence, "Well done, dear."
Her scowl faded and Florence let out a laugh, "Thanks, nan. How do you feel about hiding him from dad?"
"It would be an honour."
3pm
Luna quietly slipped into Florence's room, blinking in surprise at Freddie sitting drinking from the alcohol stash under Florence's bed that she'd come in search for.
"Why do you look like grandad when Stiles told him he was going to be a dad?" Luna questioned, her dress trailing along the floor as she sunk down on Florence's bed.
"Cause I just told mum and dad I got married?"
Florence snickered as she crept in behind Luna, grinning at her sister as Luna glared daggers at her.
"Thank you for finally gracing us with your presence, your highness," Luna grumbled.
Florence playfully curtsied before slouching down beside Freddie and taking a sip from the bottle in his hand, "Finally announced your surprise nuptials then?"
"Sorry- what?" Luna blinked furiously, "Frederick, you got married?!"
Freddie cradled the bottle like a shield, "Accidentally?"
Despite the metaphorical shield, Luna reached over and punched his shoulder before whacking him with a throw cushion.
"Ow!" Freddie exclaimed, pushing Luna away, "What was that for?"
"For announcing you got married on my wedding day!" Luna hissed.
"And Ellie might be pregnant," Kit added dramatically, shutting the door behind him before ungracefully plonking himself down on one of Florence's bean bags.
"What?!" the sisters shouted.
Freddie groaned, sinking further into the bed, "Eloise is not pregnant."
"That's boring," Florence hummed, stretching her legs out to rest on Freddie's, "Anyways...hate to rain on the parade, but dads about to meet my boyfriend."
"Florence, that's a funny joke," Luna laughed, batting Kit's hand away as he went to touch the sparkles on her dress.
"I'm not joking," Florence added bluntly.
Luna stared at the twins in disbelief, "You both decided to commence a world war on my wedding day?! Kit, anything to add to send mum and dad insane?"
"I think I've been expelled," Kit replied, frowning, "Yeah, I don't plan on letting that secret out."
"Mum reacted better than I thought," Freddie mumbled but went ignored, "But dads gonna flip, Rory."
"He might not freak out," Florence defended.
"Might not - might not freak out?! This is dad we're talking about," Luna argued, wriggling as she tried to sit up in her dress, "Dramatic dad about to meet your much older criminal boyfriend if you're dating who I think you're dating."
"He's not a criminal, he just had a not so morally correct pack! But you're thinking correctly," Florence rolled her eyes, "Mum might be fine with it."
"The day I learn to fly is the day mum is okay with it," Kit pointed out, "As you can see, I don't have wings."
"When did you even get a boyfriend - never mind -" Luna muttered, turning to Florence suspiciously, "Are you trying to give dad a heart attack? He's getting old Florence. He can't handle shocks like these anymore. This, this would make the top five dad reactions."
"This would make the top five," Freddie agreed, "Top ten at least."
"No it won't," Florence groaned.
"Yes it would," Kit argued, "Should we revise the list?"
Luna looked around for any objections before starting, "Fine. Number five- when Cora eloped with that sailor woman on holiday without telling anyone and dad had the breath knocked out of his chest in shock and didn't breathe for a minute when she announced her marriage and divorce."
"He was having a panic attack, he's just too prideful to admit it," Florence reminded, "Peter fainted-"
"Malia told him she was pregnant after, that didn't count," Freddie disagreed, Florence pouted grumpily, "Number four, falling off his chair and bashing his head open when he found out Stiles was going to be a dad at family dinner."
"I haven't seen mom that angry yet so entertained in years," Luna laughed fondly.
"I've never seen someone so ecstatic to try and stitch their dads head closed, Luna," Florence teased.
"Shush," Luna waved her away.
Florence let out a sigh and continued, "Number three, when I got my period for the first time alone without mom, had a breakdown and dad dislocated his shoulder in shock when I told him I was bleeding to death."
"Still think you should've called me," Luna pointed out bitterly.
"I was having an emotional breakdown!" Florence exclaimed, "And then he took me to the hospital when I wouldn't stop crying!"
Kit doubled over in laughter, "Remember his face when Melissa gave him the box of pads?"
"Derek, you have a wife and two daughters - surely you know what a period is!" Florence laughed as she imitated Melissa, "Number two - his werewolf safety rant when Kit told the whole school his parents were werewolves."
"I will kick you out of the pack, Christopher!" Kit mocked in Derek's deep voice, "Don't make me put an anti human rule for the pack, because you and stiles will be the first to go."
Luna reached over and took the bottle from Freddie and took a sip, glancing at Kit curiously, "Why did you do that?"
"Felt like we needed some excitement," Kit shrugged.
"And at number one, when he broke down the bathroom door hearing mom scream and then fainted when mom told him she was pregnant with Kit," Luna announced with an amused glee, "Dad with temporary amnesia was hilarious."
"And uncle Stiles trying to convince him that dad didn't exist and he was Miguel!" Freddie laughed, "Mum was livid."
Florence suddenly grew nervous, stubbornly saying, "I still don't think this will make the list."
"Dad only approved of me dating Sam because according to mum, dad had been 'subtly' threatening him all his life since Sam held my hand for the first time," Luna explained.
"He didn't freak out freak out when you kissed Felix Finnstock, Rory," Freddie defended,"Or Suzie's cousin - what was her name again?"
"Jade," Florence informed him.
"Jade, right," he muttered.
"He didn't freak out!" Florence told them excitedly.
Luna rolled her eyes, "He was extremely distracted by Kit running down the street starkers."
"I'm not ashamed," Kit added, feeling all eyes on him. "And still, this would top it all."
Florence groaned and covered her face with the pillow, "It wouldn't."
"You're his pride and joy, the apple of his eye," Luna agreed with Kit.
Her siblings stared at her disbelievingly, "You're the golden child."
"I'm an adult now, you're the baby," Luna argued.
Kit pointed to himself, "I thought I was the baby?"
"It could go on moms list," Florence suggested, ignoring Kit.
"Nope," Luna denied.
Florence frowned, "Why not?"
"That woman's the most dramatic person I've ever met," Luna reminded, glancing up at the ceiling in thought, "This would probably go at a 25, maybe thirty."
"Wait, flipping the principles table was at 25," Freddie corrected, Luna hummed in agreement, "It could be top five."
"We don't discuss top five, Fred," Luna whispered, "It's dangerous territory. If mom hears us talking about this it won't end good. 10 year old me asking to send Kit back minutes after she gave birth, ring a bell?"
"That was stupid," Freddie scolded protectively over his mother, "In her defence she was drugged and in pain."
Luna winced at the memory, "They heard her shouting from the front desk. I get shivers even thinking about number one."
"Number three wasn't bad," Kit shrugged.
Luna blinked at him in surprise, "What part about mum telling the judge to put dad in jail wasn't bad?"
Kit grinned, "It was funny? Just sentence him, your honour, I'm sick of his pouty face getting arrested."
Luna looked around the room fondly, "I've missed you guys."
"I thought you were too busy being a mad scientist to hang out with your lonely little siblings," Kit joked, wheezing as Luna roughly tugged him into a hug.
Luna lived part time in New York working in a lab studying the biology of supernatural creatures, meaning she wasn't home as much as she wanted to be. With Florence writing a book whilst travelling around America, Kit deciding he wanted to be a zoologist and Freddie studying to be a history teacher at the local college the siblings were all starting off on their own adventures.
"Never," Luna exclaimed, her siblings going silent as she suddenly started to cry and clutched Kit closer, "Stop looking at me like that, it's an emotional day let me cry!"

Florence knew it would be a matter of time before her parents figured out the truth, but she hoped she could at least find where Brandon was hiding with Lorraine before her parents did.
Florence discreetly wondered through the decorated hallways, checking the rooms she passed for the duo.
"Why do you look like you're up to something?" Derek questioned, bumping into her as she entered the kitchen.
"Why do you always assume I'm up to something?" Florence countered.
"Because you are," Derek raised his brows playfully, "Well?"
Maeve walked out of the kitchen behind Derek, sliding her arms around his waist before resting her head on his shoulder. Florence's scowl flickered at the sight of them, her parents love for each other always amazed her - wishing one day she would have that too, hesitantly she wondered if she already did.
Florence blinked in confusion as Maeve's smile dropped, looking over her shoulder to see Lorraine practically parading Brandon down the hallway.
Derek instantly straightened, Maeve wanted to laugh at the glare on her husbands face. He couldn't believe what he was seeing, at the small smile his daughter sent the werewolf his temper flared.
"No," Derek stated in a growl, "Absolutely not, Florence, I won't allow it."
Florence took a deep breath, slowly standing in front of Brandon ( who stared at Derek defiantly) "You barely know him!"
"Derek, Brandon is a lovely young man with a very lovely face," Lorraine hummed.
"Not now, nan," Maeve sighed. "How long have you been seeing him, Florence?"
"A few months," Florence replied, "So i'd say I know him far better than you do."
"You don't just date guys from packs like this," Derek said in frustration, "Did you just forget the way he attacked Dean?"
"I didn't forget the state both of them left that fight," Florence pointed out bitterly, "Didn't you and Scott spend years tearing chunks out of each other now you're besties? Hypocrite."
Maeve took a deep breath and soothingly ran circles across Derek's tensed back. She knew her husband well enough to know this argument Florence would not win.
"His pack are bad people," Derek said through gritted teeth, "Criminals - murderers!"
"Said the man whose been to jail more than once for mass murder," Florence glared, matching Derek's angry stance. "You're not a bad person and neither is Brandon."
Maeve watched in amusement, Derek and Florence were so alike their arguments never seemed to end - too stubborn for either of them to admit defeat. It amazed Maeve sometimes when she spotted them stood together, staring disapprovingly at something and often glaring at Stiles. They truly were mirrors of each other.
Brandon smiled lazily, "I'd day I'm a pretty great guy."
Florence kicked her boyfriends leg, glaring at him in disbelief - now he decided to pipe up?
"Shut up," Derek seethed, red eyes glowing.
Maeve stepped back, wishing under her breath that no decorations were to be broken as she watched Derek suddenly charge at Brandon. Derek curled his fist and pummelled Brandon across the face.
"Dad!" Florence exclaimed, stepping between the two werewolves.
"Derek!" Maeve huffed, tugging Derek away.
Derek clenched his fists, holding back his smile at the sight of Brandon on the floor. Brandon pushed himself up off the floor, his attitude barely flickering despite the physical blow.
He raised his brows at Derek, "Are we good now then?"
"Don't push it," Derek glared, storming down the hallway.
"Welcome to the family," Lorraine laughed, wondering away ( in Maeve's opinion, off to spread gossip about what just happened )
The remaining trio turned at the excited giggle in the doorway, Claudia stood practically buzzing in amusement tugging on Elizabeth's hand.
"Uncle Derek just punched someone granny!" Claudia all but bellowed.
"Which was a very bad thing to do," Elizabeth reminded patiently, "Despite being very funny."
Claudia crossed her arms and stared up at her grandmother suspiciously, "You punched the woman at the store."
"But we don't speak about that do we? Because it was bad," Elizabeth pointed out, ignoring Maeve's surprised stare.
"Because we don't tell grandad," Claudia recited.
"That's exactly right," Elizabeth agreed, tugging on Claudia's hand to lead them away from Maeve's questioning stare.
"What did you do?" Maeve called after them.
"You didn't hear a word, Diana!" Elizabeth shouted back, ushering Claudia out before she could reply to her favourite aunt.
5pm
Derek froze in place as he walked into the dining room where Luna stood waiting, tears gathering in his eyes at the sight of her. She looked perfect, just like Maeve on their wedding day.
Luna's hair fell down her shoulders in effortless curls, a veil entwined in a flower crown made by her sister. Her embroidered dress shined against the sun gleaming from the window, draping down to pool around her feet.
Luna smiled, laughing gently as she approached Derek, "Don't cry, dad."
"You look beautiful, sweetheart," Derek whispered, "You're really all grown up."
"I'm not that old dad," Luna scolded playfully, picking up her bouquet hand picked by her youngest cousin from the table "Thirty is the new twenty."
"Well, fifty is the new thirty then," Derek agreed.
His eyes widened as he noticed the pink crystal necklace hanging around her neck, "You're wearing your mother's necklace from our wedding."
"My something borrowed," Luna explained, holding up her blue stone ring, "Something blue."
She lifted her dress to show her shoes, light floral heels then motioned to her earrings, "New shoes from grandma Liz, and something old... Auntie Laura saved me Granny Talia's earrings."
Derek only wanted to cry more, "That- that's perfect. Mum would love that you're wearing them."
Derek looped his arm around Luna's, leading them through the house towards the double doors to the garden, "Are you ready to get married?"
"Yeah," Luna breathed excitedly, "I'm ready."
Derek squeezed her arm as they entered the gardens, "Are you really sure you want to do this? I can make an escape plan-"
Luna laughed, stepping on the rose petal covered grass, "I'm certain, dad."
The trail of rose petals lead out to the orchard beside the lakes, guest chairs were surrounded by the trees with garlands and lights strung between. The sunset left a pink overlay on the water, glistening at the guests.
Luna felt her heart race as she spotted Sams silhouette in the distance, stood under the flower archway in front of the small dock on the lake. She didn't feel any doubts about marrying Sam, her excitement was overwhelming.
"I can hear uncle Jamie crying from here," Luna mused.
Derek rolled his eyes knowingly, "Probably cause he lost the bet on your wedding date."
"Did Florence tell you she thinks he has seer blood?" Luna asked in amusement.
"Takes one crazy seer to know another," Derek joked.
Luna leant over and kissed Derek's cheek as they approached the aisle, "I love you."
"I love you too, LuLu," Derek smiled, but frowned uncomfortably at all the eyes on them.
Luna looked up at Derek with a mischievous glint in her eyes, "Is this a bad time to tell you i'm pregnant?"
Derek felt his chest constrict, now he knew why Maeve looked a little too excited about grandchildren earlier.
"Dad?" Luna whispered cautiously, "You alright?"
Derek found it within him to breathe again, "You're happy?"
Derek couldn't say he was pleased, like he'd be saying in years time, he was too young to be a grandfather - but even he couldn't deny the excitement of the thought of a tiny Luna running around again. Of course, the most important of all was seeing his daughter happy, and if this made her happy then he would be too.
"Really happy," Luna beamed, watching ahead as Claudia scattered flower petals across the aisle, "It was on my five year plan."
Derek chuckled, "If you're happy, I'm happy."
It all felt too quick for Derek as they walked down the aisle, in seconds he had to let Luna go. But he pushed aside his own fears aside and let go of Luna's hand, sending her a supportive smile as she joined sam at the alter.
He sent Sam a warning glare, but Sam knowing Derek all this time, simply grinned back - Derek didn't have to threaten or warn him, he knew darn well that he would look after Luna how she deserved.
Maeve smiled up at Derek as he sat beside her, leaning against him as he wrapped his arms around him.
"You're sneaky," Derek muttered, Maeve rolled her eyes, "You knew she'd tell me."
"It was my idea to have her tell you when you can't freak out," Maeve chuckled, eyes shining with tears as she watched Luna, "We did good."
Derek smiled, "We did."
Florence let out a quiet laugh at the sight of them, herself and her siblings sat beside them on the row, "You're not going to cry, are you?"
"I might," Derek added stubbornly.
Lilah leant over from the row behind, "That's stupid, only babies cry."
"Thank you, Lilah," Maeve muttered.
"It's not very alpha of you to cry, uncle Derek," Percy teased from beside Lilah.
"You haven't seen him watch Basketball then," Laura argued with her son. "Lots of tears."
Derek turned and glared at his sister, Laura was raising another her and Derek knew he was in for years of teasing from two of them now.
Derek spotted Stiles at the end of their row as he turned back to the couple, he sat weeping as Claudia patted her fathers arm.
"You're pathetic," Claudia rolled her eyes. "The wedding just started."
"You're grounded," Stiles said through tears.
Stiles took to parenting very well, years of training with Maeve's kids helping massively. Him and Claudia were a team ( much to Lydia's dismay ) and very much similar to each other, Stiles thrived in reliving all his childhood hobbies with his daughter.
"Good luck with that, we have a laser tag party tomorrow," Claudia grinned mischievously.
"I'll go without you," Stiles frowned.
"We're a team, daddy," Claudia pointed out, her red curls twisting when the breeze, "Plus, you'll loose without me."
Stiles suddenly let out another sob and squeezed her into his arms, "Don't grow up."
"Maybe, if you shave your horrible beard," Claudia bargained.
Stiles nodded frantically, "Deal."
Noah sighed from beside them, shaking his head at his sons dramatics that only seemed to grow with age.
"What a sap," Kit laughed, Noah had to agree with him.
As the ceremony continued, Derek ended up crying ( unknown to him, Peter was behind filming the whole ordeal instead of the couple ) Maeve wiped away his tears, ignoring her own.
"I love you," Maeve said fondly, wiggling her brows, "grandpa."
"I'm not old," Derek glared, "I'm not a grandpa yet."
"You're forty eight," Maeve sniffed away her tears, "That's pretty old."
"You're old too then," Derek said childishly, "I bet we could have another kid."
"No, that door is firmly shut," Maeve refused. "Derek it's a little late for empty nest syndrome."
Derek simply shrugged, Maeve rolled her eyes and quietly argued, "Someone's confident in his abilities to say he's nearly fifty."
"Would you like to test that?" Derek raised his brows teasingly.
"Don't even joke about things like that," Maeve complained, "Not with our bad luck."
Derek let out a cough as Florence suddenly hit him in the stomach, "You're flirting and I don't like it."
"It's very inappropriate," Freddie agreed.
"We're at a wedding, control yourselves," Kit said with a wink, "Honestly."
The wedding was beautiful, Maeve couldn't of asked for a better wedding for her daughter. Until the words -
"Does anyone object to the union of Luna and Samuel?"
Were spoken. It wasn't a Hale wedding without a little chaos, after all.
"I object!" Kit stood from his seat and shouted, Luna glared furiously at her brother as Freddie grabbed his suit jacket and yanked him down.
"Christopher!" Maeve scolded, Kit almost shrunk back at the anger in her eyes.
Thankfully they were distracted by the couple saying i do before anymore interruptions, and lucky for Kit his actions were forgotten as his mother went Misty eyed.
Luna didn't need to be told twice to kiss her husband, the guests laughed as Sam picked her up and twirled her around without breaking the kiss. Derek scrunched his nose unhappily, Maeve laughed leaning over to kiss him before he could start to sulk. It was a perfect end to a slightly dysfunctional day, Maeve and Derek could ask for anything better as they watched their daughter marry her soulmate.
