"You been on mute since we left. You good?" Bria asked, looking at me with concern.
"Tonight was just not my night," I said, wiping away tears I'd been holding back for hours.
"Aside from the obvious, what's wrong? What did Slim do?"
"Literally nothing. That's the problem. He has all this sexual energy towards me and has yet to even act on it."
"Wait, y'all still haven't fucked yet? What did I walk in on?"
"Girl, a waste of my time. I'm about to cut his ass off too and just focus on myself this summer," I said turning into my complex. I parked and we got out, seeing CJ and Drew getting out of Drew's car and walking up to us as we headed towards the building.
"Drew, go home. I'm not in the mood," I said walking past him without even looking at him.
"Baby, I'm sorry. I've been waiting out here for you for 3 hours to talk," he said grabbing my hand.
"I'm going upstairs, Jo. I'll sleep in the guest room tonight," Bria rubbed my shoulder as CJ grabbed her hand to walk her up.
"Drew, you humiliated me," I said softly as a tear rolled down my face.
"Jo," he pulled me in for a hug as I cried against his chest. "I'm sorry but I didn't lie to you. On my life I don't know what happened that night."
"How am I supposed to believe you?" I pulled back to look at him. "Regardless of whatever happened you continued to see her."
"Yeah, around campus, Jo. I would just run into her when I was out. It's not like I planned every time we met up."
"So now she's stalking you. Whatever, Drew," I scoffed, turning to walk upstairs.
"I'll call her right now to clear it up if that's what it takes for you to believe me."
"Yeah call her right now. Ask her what really happened that night and you better hope she says something I wanna hear."
He grabbed my hand and pulled me towards his car, opening the passenger door for me before getting in on the driver's side. He found Morgan's contact info and called her, putting the phone on speaker.
"Hello," she answered softly.
"Morgan, you alright?"
"What do you want, Drew?"
"Why did you do all that tonight in front of everybody? Especially JoJo."
"You really blaming me for your crazy ass bitch jumping on me because you lied?"
"Watch your mouth, man. I'm not gone keep telling you that."
"Fuck you, Drew. We've been hanging out on campus all week and not once did you say anything about having a girlfriend. Then she shows up at the party and you all over her. How am I supposed to feel?"
"She's not my girlfriend but we have an understanding. I didn't feel the need to tell you anything because its just been friendly with me and you. Yeah we hung out on campus but my boys were always around."
"You are such a liar. You asked me to stay and cuddle with you after the dead week party and you kissed me when I came over to chill."
"Bro, I was drunk as fuck at the party. I probably thought you were my girl. And I apologize for the kiss. It was a mistake."
"I got my ass beat because of you, Drew. That wasn't a mistake."
"Nah, you can't put that on me. You were being disrespectful and popping off at the mouth. You should've peeped game and fell back."
"Fuck you," she said, hanging up the phone. Drew took a deep sigh and grabbed my hand.
"I told you. I don't want nobody but you," he said looking over at me smiling. "Can we go inside now and make up?"
"You on punishment until my hand feels better," I smiled getting out of the car. He got out and walked over to me, pulling me into a hug.
"Stripper strength ain't nothing to play with. I'm bout to sign you up for UFC," he laughed kissing my forehead.
"Just remember that next time you do something stupid," I joked back.
"Come on, let's go to bed," he said leaning down for me to jump on his back to take us upstairs.
The next morning ...
The sound of my phone ringing woke me and Drew out of a deep slumber.
"Shit, it's my mom," I said looking at the phone. We adjusted ourselves in bed to answer her FaceTime call.
"Hey, mama," Drew and I both answered with smiling faces.
"Oh my goodness, Andrew!" she swooned over him. "How's my handsome future son-in-law doing?"
"I'm good, Mama K, how you been?"
"I was doing good until I saw a video of my baby fighting at one of your parties," she said with a raised eyebrow. Drew slid out of the camera and she focused her stare on me.
"How did you see that?!" I asked with wide eyes.
"That's not the point, Jordyn Marie. This is the second fight we've seen you have. Your father and I agreed to let you go to Texas for a law degree, not WWE."
"Yes ma'am. What did Daddy say?" I asked nervously.
"Child, hush. You know your dad was proud, but I'm not. And you're supposed to be protecting my baby Andrew."
"I tried to break it up, Mama. She whooped on me too!" Drew said, getting back in the camera and holding his hands up.
"Jordyn!" my mom exclaimed. "Where was Bria? Because I know she stays away from drama."
"Mama, Bria instigated it!" I said laughing. "But it won't happen again. You have my word."
"We'll see. How did finals go? You coming home since the semester's over?"
"It went better than I thought. I can come home sometime this month if that's okay with you and Daddy."
"Of course it's okay with us, don't be silly. Andrew, you coming with her?"
"Yes ma'am, as long as you throwing down in the kitchen like you did for Thanksgiving last year," Drew replied, rubbing his stomach.
"I don't think I've cooked since then but anything for my favorite son-in-law," she chuckled. "Your dad will send you money for flights and we'll get the house set up. Y'all can stay as long as you like."
"Thank you, mama. I'll catch up with you later. I love you."
"No more fighting, Jordyn. I love you, more," she replied hanging up the phone.
"How the fuck did she see that video?" I asked Drew as Bria screamed from the guest room. We ran out of the room to meet her and CJ in the living room.
"Jordyn, look at this!" Bria said, handing me her phone. Someone had recorded and posted the fight on X and it was going viral, getting reposted over 7,000 times.
"Bitch, my mom saw this video!" I yelled, watching as I dog walked Morgan across the kitchen.
"What?!" she exclaimed. "What the hell is Ms. Kim doing on X?"
"I don't know but I hope no one important has seen it. I finally got my GPA up to appeal so I can get my scholarship back," I whined, sitting on the couch with my hands over my face.
"Baby, don't worry, you can barely tell it's you," Drew said, analyzing the video.
"Yeah and if they deny the appeal we can always send this in to the WWE," CJ said, laughing.
"Shut up, Carlos!" we all yelled in unison.
"Anyways," I sighed getting off of the couch. "My dad is sending money for flights back home, summer in Charlotte?"
"I'm down," Bria agreed.
"The fuck is in Charlotte?" CJ asked.
"Maids, butlers, chefs, and a pool," Bria said, hitting his arm.
"Oh hell yeah, I'm in," he said rubbing his hands together.
I went back to my room to grab my phone and purchase the tickets when I received a text from an unsaved 281 number with a link to the fight video.
I'm turned on. Pull up later
I rolled my eyes and went back into the living room to finish discussing summer plans.
