I placed DJ in his kennel before going upstairs to get ready for bed.
"I thought you ran off on me," Drew chuckled, coming out of the bathroom and pulling me in for a kiss.
"Blame your son. He didn't wanna come inside," I responded, taking off my jewelry to get undressed.
"Tim cousin kinda weird, huh?" he asked, pulling back the covers before getting in bed.
"Inappropriate, maybe. I wouldn't say weird though."
"Nigga got a bit of a staring problem if you ask me. You sure this was y'all first time meeting?"
"Kinda hard to say. He may have come in the club before," I said, laying in bed next to him and wrapping myself in his arms.
"Makes sense. He was probably imagining what I'm looking at right now."
He rolled me over onto my back, pulling my legs around his waist as he kissed me. Our tongues danced as I ran my fingers through his soft curls pulling them gently. He placed soft kisses to my cheek, moving to my neck and chest as I moaned softly. He held my breasts in his large hands, licking and sucking one of my nipples while rubbing the other between his thumb and index finger pulling it gently, then switching. I squirmed underneath him as the sensation made me hot, pulling on his curls as the sensitivity gave me goosebumps.
"Damn, baby. You making my stomach wet," he smirked as he placed kisses on my stomach moving lower and lower down my body.
He made his way between my thighs, spreading my legs before pushing my knees up towards my chest. Without hesitating he placed his mouth over my clit, gently licking it as he brought my thighs back to the sides of his face. I grabbed the headboard as I slowly grinded against his tongue, feeling it slide back and forth between my fat lips before he slurped my juices. He made his way to my first hole, sliding his tongue in and out and swirling it around as I gripped the sheets to hold in my moans. I pulled my legs back to get a better look at him as he feasted on me, eyes closed as he passionately swirled his tongue around my clit. He brought his hands to my breasts again, pinching and pulling my nipples as I arched my back off the bed begging for him to be inside me. He came up to kiss me, allowing me to taste my sweetness as he effortlessly slid into my opening, grabbing both of my wrists and putting them above my head as he began grinding his hips, pushing my body deep into the mattress.
"I can't wait to give you my baby," he whispered staring into my eyes, stroking me deeply and lovingly. I locked my ankles behind his back pulling him deeper inside me with each stroke.
"Don't make me come yet," I begged softly, wanting to savor the moment of the lovemaking we hadn't practiced in so long.
The next morning ...
"Good morning, Daddy," I sang as I kissed my dad's cheek before grabbing my morning latte from Julie.
"You're in a good mood. Must've had a good night last night," he smiled, looking over some papers in the kitchen.
"Amazing," I bragged, opening a can of wet food to put in DJ's bowl for breakfast.
"Good, I need you at your best for the announcement tonight."
"What announcement?" I asked sitting next to him, taking a sip of my latte.
"Big John," he started, taking off his glasses, "is running for DA."
"Oh my God, congratulations Daddy!" I laughed, hugging him. "I'm so proud of you. Everyone in the city loves you so I know this campaign will be a breeze."
"God willing. If I win, I'll be the youngest black DA in the history of North Carolina so this is a big deal. That's why you can't say anything before tonight. I want everyone to be surprised."
"Daddy, we knew you would run eventually."
"I know, I just wanna be the one to say it," he chuckled, kissing my forehead. "Emily and your mom went out shopping this morning so you don't have to have a panic attack over what you're wearing for dinner and Marcus is going to shop for Drew. I want both of you by my side along with your mother for pictures."
"Of course, I wouldn't have it any other way."
"Morning, Uncle John," Leah smiled, walking into the kitchen to hug him before helping herself to a latte.
"Morning, Mr. J," Bria smiled coming into the kitchen followed by CJ, Tim, and Drew who were smiling as well.
"Why is everybody in a good mood this morning?" he asked, looking around at our smiling faces. "I better not find any positive pregnancy tests."
We all laughed as we started eating breakfast before getting ready to get in the pool.
"I can't believe your dad is running for DA," Bria said, handing me a mimosa before getting in the water.
"I'm just glad I'll be in Texas for most of the campaign. The last thing I need is being photographed coming out of Lululemon with no bra on," I laughed.
"Powell appears perky after father's DA announcement," Leah joked as we all laughed.
"You think this'll make its way back to Houston?" CJ asked.
"I doubt it. Everyone might think to look for me in College Station and I won't be there. I stay out of the way so I should be able to keep a low profile."
"Plus that fight video died down so you should be good," Drew added.
"What fight video?" Leah and Tim asked.
"Long story," I laughed.
"So what are we doing after the party?" Bria asked.
"Something lowkey. The announcement shouldn't go public until tomorrow morning but I wanna be on the safe side."
"Is it cool if Slim comes through?" Tim asked. "He texted me earlier wanting to hang again before he goes back to Houston."
"Long as he watch his mouth and his eyes, I'm not tripping," Drew shrugged.
"Eyes?" Leah asked.
"You didn't catch him staring at JoJo last night?"
"I thought I was the only person caught that," CJ chimed in.
"I didn't even notice," Bria lied. "He seemed kinda cool for the most part."
"I told y'all buddy was freaky," Tim laughed. "I'll tell him no if it'll be static."
"Nah, its cool," I interjected. "I don't want it to be weird if we all link in Houston. Plus my mom is putting together my outfit so I doubt it'll be anything for him to look at."
"Your mom?" Leah scoffed. "Kimberly Thornton Powell? Girl, you don't believe that yourself."
"Shit he might be checking out moms instead," CJ teased.
"Yeah, no disrespect but moms a baddie," Tim chuckled.
"He better not let Big John Powell catch him staring. He won't be as nice as Drew," Leah laughed.
Later that evening ...
"Jordyn, the guests are arriving. If you're not comfortable in the Kates, we can find you something else," my mom fussed as she grew frustrated teaching me how to properly stand.
"Mom, this is a $10,000 Chanel suit. I'm wearing these shoes!" I demanded.
"She can hold on to me for support, Mama K," Drew stepped in.
"Thank you, sweetie," she said to Drew before adjusting his tie. "If it gets to be too much, I'll leave my Yves in your dad's office."
"Everything's going to be fine, Mom. Go find Daddy," I said holding her hand to relax her.
"I'm fine, I'm fine. Just need a glass of wine before mingling with The Russells. JoAnn got her nose done so she's a bit more chatty," she said adding the finishing touches to my outfit. "You both look so grown up."
"Thank you, now let's go downstairs before you start crying."
We followed her downstairs as she turned on her pageant charm, welcoming everyone to our home and thanking them for coming. Drew and I mingled with some of the kids of my dad's associates, talking about school and future plans. Leah and Tim made their way over to us looking obviously annoyed.
"This reminds me of those banquets I go to with my dad. I'm dreading them when I become a doctor," she rolled her eyes, taking a sip of champagne.
"We should've just married into these events instead of having to attend them," I laughed.
"Slim just text me. He's outside. I'll go show him where to park," he said kissing Leah on the cheek before heading towards the door.
Bria and CJ made their way over with champagne and hors d'oeuvres to chat some more before the announcement took place.
"Where's Tim?" Bria asked with her mouth full.
"He's helping Slim park, Joey Chestnut," Leah laughed.
"Oh shit, time to see if he watches JoJo all night in this 'modest' suit Ms. Kim picked out," she teased.
"Okay," Tim said coming back. "He's coming in now. He had to help his date getting out of the car.
"Date?" we all asked in unison.
"Good evening, everybody," he said walking up to us in a navy blue tailored suit with a just as tall, slim woman with long, straight honey blonde hair on his arm. "This is my date, Natalie."
We all exchanged hellos and introductions with Natalie as we welcomed them both.
"What happened to your girl?" CJ asked before Bria lightly elbowed him in the side.
"She's playing hard to get so I decided to make her sweat," he smirked, subtly glancing at me before kissing Natalie on the cheek.
