                    Kaiden
My bedroom looks like a tornado has ravaged it.
"Kaiden, you still have to apply eyeliner on me!" Raven says, her hair in a curling iron.
"Fuck, where's my other stiletto?" Bella shouts, tossing the various shirts from the floor on the bed.
"Move over, Kaiden! You're hogging the mirror!" Daniel snaps, pushing me away.
"Ow, hey that could have messed up my whole look!" I shout, annoyed.
My hair just won't sit the way I want it to. After another ten minutes of blow drying, gelling and combing, it looks the exact kind of messy I prefer.
"For fuck's sake Kaiden, hurry up!" Raven snaps.
"Almost done! Just tell me what jacket will go with this shirt?"
She rolls her eyes for the hundredth time ever since we started getting ready. The other three went downstairs already to wait with Aaron.
"Just throw something on, we're not going to a runway, we're going partying with people you have spent half your life with!"
I flip her off, settling on a bottle green bomber. Throwing one last look at the mirror, I grab my phone and run downstairs.
The bell chimes and Nathan walks in.
He's holding a suit, in its bag. His hair fall messily on his forehead like always. He's wearing a red tshirt and black joggers, with his Doc Martens. He meets my gaze and I feel warm inside, but I turn away.
He probably walked here in his bruised state. The thought makes guilt pool in my gut. Shit, I should have stayed back and got him home with me. But I don't trust myself to be alone with him lest I do something stupid like kiss him again.
"You can put that in the hallway cupboard for now," I tell Shailene when she takes the suit from Nathan.
"Selfie time!" Bella cheers.
Aaron, being the tallest, is our selfie stick. Raven calls Nathan to join us in the pictures. He stands next to me, smiling. We manage two to three decent pictures where I don't look like I have my butt plugged.
Soon, we're out and on our way to the party. Nathan rides shotgun with me, Raven and Aaron in the back. Daniel, Ryan, Alex and Bella went in Ryan's car.
As expected, Calum has gone all out for the party. The seniors and juniors are here, having a fun time. The music is loud and upbeat. The team cheers when Max and Nathan enter.
"To the star of the night!" Alex yells.
Calum and Luke walk to Nathan, and for a second I think he's going to be doused in punch. They suddenly hoist him on their shoulders.
"GO Wolves!"
Everyone cheers, the cheerleaders chanting our motto. Nathan beams, waving at us. He looks radiant. I just hope they don't move him around too much, he took a nasty fall. They put him down and he hi-fives Ryan.
Calum hands us all shots. I down them quickly, then a second, third and a fourth. Max grabs my hands when I down the fifth.
"Easy there tiger!" he mumbles.
I nod and walk off, finding Raven. She smiles when I plant a kiss on her cheeks.
"Are you buzzed already?" She asks.
"Not yet but I will be! I did five tequila!"
"And you haven't eaten yet. Come on, the food looks amazing!" She tugs my hand, walking to the dining area.
We take a plate and pile up the goodies on it, munching on pizza rolls. Several people are dancing, Nathan among them. I wish I could dance like he does.
I look at Raven and she has a glaze in her eyes, staring at Nathan too.
"You know, I've been talking to him, the past few days on text. We sat together in our AP psychology class. He's smart as hell and we have a project assigned together so I'm sure I'm getting a flawless grade. God, I wish I could ask him out!"
"Hm."
Hearing Raven talk about him makes me guiltier. She doesn't know about us and I intend to keep it that way. She will hate me if she finds out.
I finish the food, feeling a bit better.
Raven walks towards the dance floor. She joins Sasha and Nathan. He seems to be enjoying the attention and it irks me.
Does he really not care?
Daniel walks to me, handing me a beer and grabs a finger sandwich, biting into it.
"So, what's up with you and Nathan?"
My head snaps to him in a slight panic.
"What- what do you mean?"
"You haven't been talking to each other at all. I noticed the tension. All okay right?"
I sigh in relief. I have to stop being so jumpy, it'll make someone suspicious.
"It's nothing, we had a minor spat," I mutter.
"Oh, I hope you get over it!" Daniel says cheerfully before leaving me alone. He's definitely tipsy.
My eyes wander to Nathan. Raven is getting handsy with him and for a second I think about pushing her away from him.
Shoving down the irrational thought, I gulp the rest of my beer. He mumbles something in her ear and walks in my direction. Quickly, I pull out my phone and pretend to be absorbed in it.
He picks up food and leans against the window, beside me. The proximity is making my hair stand on end.
"Are you going to be here in the corner all night?"
"What if I am? Not much you can do to stop me?" I chuckle dryly.
"Kaiden, I'm sorry. The kiss was a total mistake okay? It was just a kiss, no big deal. We should let it go."
"Oh? No big deal?" I frown.
Being stabbed probably hurts less than what he just said.
"Yeah well, it shouldn't be," he sighs. "I'm sorry, it was wrong on my part to kiss you without your consent. We shouldn't ruin our friendship over it."
I force a laugh, nodding. I had expected as much.
Tell him you're not straight! Tell him you like him!
"You're right, we shouldn't," I say instead.
"Right, people kiss all the time, it doesn't mean anything," he shrugs. "Come on, enjoy the party now! Don't sulk in the corner!"
He takes my hand and pulls me to the dance floor, grinning. We dance but I can't focus on the music so I go back to the drinks table, drinking a cold glass of water.
I try to ignore the sharp ache in my chest, like something struggling to get out.
I don't feel like being at the party anymore but I drove everyone here and I don't want to ruin their fun. So, I trudge upstairs and find an empty guest bedroom.
Flopping on the soft bed, I scream into the pillow. Again.
Does it really not mean anything to him? Was it really a mistake? Does he not feel even a little bit differently towards me? Was the kiss just the result of our proximity?
My crush is so intense I can't comprehend what to do about it. I can't even look at him anymore without wanting to push him against a wall and kiss him senseless.
Except maybe.... find a distraction.
"Fuck!"
She screams, bucking her hips upward. The action makes me crazier and I slam into her.
"Fuck, I'm going to come!"
I feel her clench around me and she unravels, her mouth wide open in bliss, shuddering slightly.
"Oh, Kaiden!" she cries.
I thrust deeper until my movements get jerky and I release into her, my eyes closing automatically. I fall on her, my head on her chest and breathe in deeply.
We're both sweaty and she wraps her arms around me. Carefully, I pull out and roll on my back, away from her embrace. I discard the condom and dress quickly.
Vanessa is looking at me, lust filled, her perky tits barely hidden by the sheets.
"For the record, this is just a one time thing, so don't go telling people that we're dating or something."
I am an asshole but I do not need her to cling on to me.
"You're a fucking dick, you know that? A hot one but a dick nonetheless," she says, grinning.
"I've heard worse," I shrug.
"And you fuck better than Adrian. I literally wonder how Hayley was stupid enough to let you go." She laughs.
She doesn't seem too pissed off or she is way too drunk but I made sure to record her voice saying she agreed to fucking me. Just in case she pulls an assault case out of nowhere. That's the last thing I need.
The door slams open and Vanessa quickly hides under the blankets.
"What the fuck dude? At least knock?!" I snap.
Nathan is standing there shirtless, with a drunk Sasha clinging to his arm.
