Kaiden
A week of being bedridden has made me restless, so I am looking forward to having a fun dinner tonight with my friends.
However my Mum is in a mood, pacing my room, ranting about how I should be safe when I'm in public with Nathan. So apparently he told his dad the real reason for my injuries and in turn, Dr. Dylan told my mom and now I'm being confronted in a very awkward way.
Mum isn't annoyed but instead she's embarrassing me to the point I want to bury myself.
"Do you know how intercourse works? You have to be safe! Use condoms even if both of you are clean!"
"Oh my god Mum!" I groan, hiding my face in my hands.
"Where have you been having sex? This bed? Goodness Kaiden, I left you alone because I thought you were responsible and you're going around having sex with your classmate? At least I'm glad I wouldn't come home to a grandchild anytime soon."
"Mum stop! I will look up anything I need on Google!"
"Don't stick up foreign objects anywhere! I have seen several EMT cases where people come in with unimaginable things shoved where the sun don't shine!"

"No, you listen to me Kaiden! I am already hurt I found out about your relationship from Dylan. Now you're denying me the right to educate you about said relationship! You wouldn't even have told me if it wasn't for him!"
"This is exactly why I wasn't going to tell you!"
Mum looks hurt and I backtrack immediately.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean it like that. I mean, I was afraid you'd tell Dad. And I couldn't explain why I'd gotten beat up so bad without exposing myself."
She sighs and pulls me to her, places her palms on my cheeks.
"Baby. I'm your mother, my sweetpea. You can tell me anything and everything and I swear on your life, I will never judge you. You're my baby boy Kaiden. What kind of a mother would I be if I hated you for something you cannot control!" she says softly, kissing my forehead.
I smile when she rakes her fingers through my hair, pushing it out of my eyes.
"I was just freaking out, Mum. Besides, Nathan was kicked out of his previous school because his boyfriend's father found out about them. So you can see why I didn't want any parental figure knowing."
Her dark eyes widen.
"Are you serious?"
I nod.
"Poor Nathan. I'm glad you met him, he is such a nice boy and you seem happy with him."
"I am, Mum. I love him! And I'm so relieved that you're not against us."
"I'd never be against something that makes you happy, Kai baby. Also, the same boy is currently standing on your balcony," Mum laughs quietly.
I turn and Nathan opens the door at the same time, walking in. He stops short, seeing my Mum, eyes wide.
"H-hi, Mrs. Pierce!" he stutters breathlessly.
"Hello Nathan. I'll pretend I didn't see anything okay?" Mum winks. I laugh. Nathan goes red.
"See you downstairs for dinner in some time then. Welcome to the family Nathan," she smiles before leaving my room. I love my mom so much.
"You should have texted me before you came up," I laugh, walking to a still-red Nathan.
He puts his arms around my waist immediately, pulling me close. A happy warmth blooms in my being.
"It wouldn't be a surprise then, would it Kai-Pie? I like seeing your beautiful green eyes light up when you see me. Strokes my ego."
"Bighead," I smile, flicking his forehead. "Your dad snitched to my mom about the incident."
"Hmm, I know. I didn't expect that but it's all for good I think. She didn't seem revolted by me and I'm glad."
"She's not revolted at all. I just got the talk, by the way."
His hazel eyes crinkle in mischief.
"The sex talk?"
"Yep. I'm actually relieved you're here. You came at the perfect time, I was this close to jumping off the balcony."
"So dramatic," he rolls his eyes.
"You love it."
"I do. So much it is driving me crazy!" He chuckles and pulls me in for a kiss.
I sigh into his mouth, feeling the familiar tingles run through me. Our tongues touch, and I groan in the kiss, his hands groping my butt. I stumble backwards when he pushes me and fall on the bed, no time lost as he presses his lips to mine again.
"I love you so much," he whispers, his mouth attaching to my neck. I moan with every kiss and soft breath and teeth grazing my collarbones.
Our shirts come off and I shiver under his wayward hands, too aroused to think. His mouth reaches my nipple and he lightly bites it, making my hips buck upwards. His other hand massages my crotch.

"Let's go to New York."
"What?"
"Let's both apply there. You can follow in your dad's steps and I can pursue design. Let's live together. Explore the east coast and have fun together. I would really really like that with you."
Nathan's eyes are wide, shining with tears. I rest my forehead against his.
"But what about Europe? Are you changing your mind because of me? I already told you I don't wanna hold you back!" he whispers.
"I know. We'll go to Europe after we graduate, for a short trip maybe. But I don't wanna put so much distance between us, I'd go mad. That's if, you want the same."
"Are you serious, of course I would love to stay with you! Oh my god, Kaiden. Are you sure?"
"Positive. I... I wanna give us a chance. And living together will make us see each other differently. We will need to work around each other a lot. Our schedules and everything. But I want that... with you."
The words just come from my heart.
For once I'm not overthinking, not analysing every outcome and pros and cons. I am doing what my heart is telling me to. And when I look into his beautiful hazel eyes and his pretty smile, I know that I don't want to be parted from him.
We might be young and stupid but I really want us to be together and watch each other grow into our own person.
"I would love that so much, Kai. I love you."
"I love you more," I smile and kiss him gently.
I'm perfectly content.
I pull him closer, locking my arms around his neck. He tilts my head, angling it, as we get lost in the passionate kiss. Hm, this is addictive.

"HEY KAIDEN - OH - OH MY GOSH! "
Me and Nathan spring apart immediately.
Raven, Bella, Sasha, Daniel and Ryan are standing there, jaws agape.
"You - WHAT THE HELL?!" Sasha and Ryan both yell loudly, making me wince. Daniel looks like he's gonna pass out any second.
Nathan looks at the floor and I... well, I am looking at Daniel only. His eyes are wide and eyebrows so high they're in danger of disappearing in his hair.
"Are you - ?!" Ryan gasps.
I nod, lacing my fingers in Nathan's. His head snaps to me , like he expected me to reject him and deny everything.
"HOW? SINCE WHEN? I THOUGHT YOU WERE FUCKING SAM?!" Sasha gasps.
I gesture them inside and shut the door.
Nathan stands near the balcony door, leaning against the wall.
Daniel is rooted to the spot.
"Explain yourself Kaiden!" Ryan says loudly. "And Raven, Bells, why don't you guys look surprised?"
"Actually, we've known for a while now," Bella says sheepishly.
The other two yell what in unison. I sigh.
The door opens and Max, Alex, Aaron walk in. They stop in their tracks, realising the tension in the room.
"Who died?" Alex asks.
"You wanna do the honours?" I ask Nathan who shakes his head.
Sighing, I narrate the whole thing, making everyone gasp louder with every revelation. In the end, I'm surprised to see Max doesn't look fazed. Daniel is struggling to meet my gaze.
"I'm so happy for you!" Sasha yells, hugging me tightly.
Daniel looks conflicted now. His girlfriend is clearly supportive and he doesn't wanna get dumped.
"Oh wow, this is amazing news! I'm glad it worked out for you both. Was Sam heartbroken? Is that why he hasn't spoken a word about you?!" Sasha asks, grinning.
I nod, feeling relieved and a tad bit euphoric when Nathan walks to me and holds my hand, a challenging gleam in his eyes.
"You bastard, you kept it from me for so long!" Ryan huffs, crossing his arms. "Some best friend you are!"
"Sorry Ryan. But now you know yeah?"
"Because we walked in on you! Otherwise you'd never have told us!" Alex frowns. "I'm still shocked how you went from fucking Vanessa to dating him! And why is Max so weirdly chill about it?"
"I've known for a while now. You guys are just supremely unobservant," he says serenely, kissing Bella on the top of her head.
"You told him first and not me?!" Ryan yells, now seriously pissed.
"I didn't tell him, I swear on your bike!"
"Don't bring my bike into this, it's new. You owe me a pizza to make it up to me. Congratulations by the way," he grumbles.
He gets up and crushes me in a hug.
I let go of Nathan's hand and hug him tightly, sudden tears pricking my eyes.
"Finally you're not moping!" He smiles gently, slapping my head. I nod, grinning.
"You better not break his heart yeah?" He points threateningly at Nathan who is weirdly stoic. Not one expression has changed ever since these guys arrived.
"I won't."
"I'll find you if you do. He's too good to be played with," Ryan says and I am so glad he's my friend.
He fist bumps Nathan who nods, a tiniest smile gracing his lips.
Aaron just gives me a thumbs up, smiling. He wasn't opposed to me being bisexual anyway.
Daniel is still quiet, eyes darting between me Nathan. I stare at him. Sasha notices him fidgeting.
"If you dare say one bad word Niel, I will end your future generations right here," She warns.
Everyone bursts into laughter including Nathan. Daniel sighs, walking to me.
"I'm sorry," he turns to Nathan. "For treating you like shit for so long. I... I was being an insecure brat and I said some unkind things."
He scrates the side of his cheek.
"I won't say anything about you both because Kaiden's my friend. And I guess I am okay with you being together. I'm sorry," He says, looking at the floor.
"Thank you, for apologising." Nathan says gruffly.
"And you, Kaiden, I'm sorry for being a bad friend. I hope you can forgive me."
I grin, wiping the tears that escaped me and hug him, patting his back. Enormous glorious relief floods through me.
"Of course I forgive you, we're friends!" I laugh.
"GROUP HUG!" Raven shouts.
Everyone crowds around us, squishing me until I'm out of breath.
"Woah woah guys!" I laugh, tilting sideways.
We all lose balance and go crashing on the floor, giggling like little kids, Nathan ending up on top of me. I rub my nose against his and he steals a kiss.
The girls let out high pitched awws and I hide my face in Nathan's shoulder, sitting upright.
"You're so cute, makes me sick," Alex says, rolling his eyes.
"Who's hungry?" Aaron asks, walking to the door.
Everyone scrambles after him, leaving me and Nathan alone.
"That was unexpected. How the fuck did we forget to lock the door?" He sighs, pulling me closer.
"Yeah, talk about timing. Even five minutes earlier and they'd have all been scarred and would never let me live it down till I died!" I chuckle.
"Next time, triple check the doors!"
He pulls me in his arms, kissing my forehead.
"We're gonna be okay, hm?" He smiles.
I nod, giving him a soft kiss.
We follow my beloved friends downstairs for a hearty dinner. We talk, laugh and crack the silliest jokes. I look around at the lively dinner table and realise it's the little things I'm the most thankful for.
I've grown so much in the past six months and I'm so glad to have my favourite people around me who support me through everything.
Nathan's hand finds mine under the table.
Yeah, we're gonna be okay.
