System, are you messing with me? - Chapter 1: Chapter 1

Every life has to end eventually. Be it sooner or later. But Shu Ning really wished his life would have rather ended later. Being in the prime of his youth, he still had a lot of plans to make his life more interesting. And dying in such an ungraceful way by falling from a bridge wasn't part of it.
Shu Ning has always been the popular type of person. With his slender figure, his upcurved pheonix eyes that could even melt hearts of ice, the straight nose and pink lips that smoothen out the sharp manly features of the boy and made him a really charming demon. Because of that he had a lot of admirers. Both girls and guys. He himself never cared about the attention he got  by just walking down the streets but that didn't mean that others didn't care about it.
Especially women were often jealous of him because they felt inferior to him because of his appearance and their boyfriends attention that was always automatically drawn to Shu Ning.
Shu Ning always knew that women could be really vicious so he tried to keep his distance from them all his life but in the end he still couldn't escape their wrath. So one day when he was just on his ways home from his part time job he stumbled across a group of teenage girls at the top of a bridge. Shu Ning wanted to walk around them but they deliberately moved in his way, their arms folded across their chests. After a while one of them, probably their leader, stepped right in front of Shu Ning and fiercely glared at him.
"Shu Ning! You won't get away with that arrogance of yours anymore. You actually dared to seduce our boyfriends. It's all your fault that I was dumped."
The boy just raised his eyebrows at her words and stayed silent.
"Cat got your tongue or what? Now you aren't so courageous anymore. Hah. Know your place you bastard." The woman next to the leader called out and stepped closer to Shu Ning.
'I really don't remember ever seeing those girls before.' Shu Ning really didn't know how he got himself cornered by a group of girls all of a sudden even though he hasn't flirted with anyone lately. He was ways to busy to play around all the time. But he was to lazy to explain himself so he just rolled his eyes and tried to push through that group. But of course they wouldn't let him leave just like that. The leader grabbed him by his collar and pushed him against the railing of the bridge angrily yelling at him.
"What's with that attitude of yours? Girls, lets teach him a lesson."
"You really have too much free time. What i have seen of you so far really makes me wonder how you even got a boyfriend in the first place." Shu Ning swept his eyes over the group and then pushed away the hand that was still holding his clothes tight.
"If you are jealous just because your guys got attracted by me then you should first look at yourself before pushing the blame on me. Then you would have noticed the actual problem allready. I give you a hint.... The problem isn't me."
The boy could clearly see their anger flashing across their eyes. The leader clenched her fist and started trembling from rage.
"YOU.... YOU BASTARD!" The ugly expression on the groups face was the last thing the boy saw when he felt a shove on his chest and then suddenly lost his grip on the railing. It was just a short fall. He didn't even have the time to process jet what was happening or widen his eyes in shock when he landed head first on the street passing underneath the bridge.
Shu Ning felt his consciousness gradually drift away. Even the noise of screeching tires and the clamor of approaching people seemed a distant away from him. His limbs grew numb and the coldness was seeping into his bones. Shu Ning knew that his death was drawing near but oddly enough he wasn't afraid or restless at all. His nerves were calm and the last thought that occupied his mind before he finally closed his eyes was 'Why do I have to die in such a shameful way? I hope these boyfriends I supposedly seduced are at least good looking or it would be to disgraceful.'
Just when the darkness finally took over Shu Nings senses, a weakly glowing ball appeared in his mind followed by a transmitted voice that spoke directly in his head.
"Hello Host. I'm your own personal system and will assist you in fulfilling your duty as a Transmigrator."
The round ball flashed a few times as if it was exitedly waiting for Shu Ning to answer it or at least show an amazed expression.
Shu Ning: "..."
After neither of that happened though the System dimmed down and continued to ramble on.
System: "... My name is Alpha and you can make use of me anyhow you want, as long as you succeed in your missions."
Shu Ning just continued staring expressionless into space while the round ball swayed and jumped in his head to catch his attention.
System: "Host? (☍﹏⁰) Please don't ignore me like that. Say something."
The boy sighed. He just died and then an annoying System starts to bother him? But because he now didn't have anything to do anymore and felt quite board he just decided to listen to the ball.
Shu Ning: "All right then. Alpha, was it? Just start explaining."
System: "Yes Host. (*T▽T*) So. you are a Transmigrator and will hop into different worlds and fulfill the missions given by the captain. If you do a good job you will get system points that you can exchange for items out of the system shop. On top of that after every world you are able to choose to learn specific skills. After you reached a certain amount of experience points that come together with the system points, you are able to get a second chance to live again. If you fail and your experience points hit zero then our contract will be automatically canceled."
Shu Ning: "So it is exactly like in the novels I heard about? Then that means if I refuse doing those missions or reach the zero of the experience points then I will get obliterated?"
System: " o(╥﹏╥)o Why is Host so mean? This System would never obliterate the Host. You would go into the cycle of reincarnation if you were to refuse. But please don't reject this System. I'm really in need of a Host. I can't stand the bullying of the captain anymore."
Shu Ning: "..." 'Couldn't they have at least given me a system that is more interesting and smart?'
The boy felt very helpless listening to the whining System. In his opinion the System was to naive thinking that pleading would be enough to get a Host. He could have at least used obliteration as a threat to force him but the System didn't do that. Alpha was jumping up and down while pleading to Shu Ning to bind with him. Shu Ning never actually planned to reject it from the very start but now that he knew how important he was to the system an evil grin formed on his face. The system who was still jumping around froze in place and moved it's body back in fright.
Shu Ning: "Alpha... If you really want my help than I have some conditions of my own. First, If I get somehow bored or annoyed then I have the choice of ending my contract and get reincarnated right away. Second, You aren't allowed to interfere with any of my decisions concerning the missions. And lastly, I want to have a free wish from that captain you mentioned."
System: "WHAT?? 〣( ºΔº )〣 Host can't be serious. The captain is the head system and the boss of all the different worlds. This System doesn't have any right to make a request to the captain. Please reconsider."
Shu Ning: "You can come up with a way. I won't take back my words. If you can't accept them, then you will have to search for a different Host."
The light of the systems body dimmed down a bit as if it was depressed but Shu Ning didn't care about that and just continued to patiently wait for Alphas consent that followed shortly after.
System: "Then now that we came to an agreement, I will start the process of forming our contract."
Right after Alpha said that a bright light flashed in Shu Nings mind and he found himself lying on the floor of an entirely white space. It was completely empty and clean and it was so big that Shu Ning couldn't see the end of it. The boy stood up and looked around curiously but when he really didn't see anything special in this place at all he turned to the glowing ball that had appeared next to him and put on a questioning expression. Alpha started happily blinking again that it got it's Host attention.
System: "This is the system space. After every finished world we'll come back here and you are able to rest without being bothered."
Shu Ning: "Without being bothered? Then where will you be at that time?"
System: ".( ̵˃﹏˂̵ ) Why must Host bully me? I won't try to get in your way. I promise."
Shu Ning listlessly lied back down on the cool white ground and turned his back towards the System.
Shu Ning: "You better stop talking about uninteresting things. This is really getting boring. I'm regretting going along with you."
System: "Ah? Please don't say that Host. I will explain!!! Do you see the small screen in front of you?"
The boy looked around and sure enough saw a small black box with different kinds of skills listed on them, Going from cooking and playing an instrument till martial arts and hacking.
System: "This is the skill box. Every time we come back to the system space you are able to choose two skills you want to learn. If the world was a difficult one then you can even choose a special skill that are written in the color blue. Before transferring to the first world Host is already allowed to choose two starting skills. System would recommend to choose a skill in the color of green. Those are the basic skills that are very useful in the first world."
Shu Ning looked at the recommended section and frowning slightly. Those basic skills were all so boring. But because it was his first time hopping into a world he should probably listen to the System, so he read through the list of green skills again.
Cooking
Martial Arts (beginners)
Flirting (beginners)
Fashion Sense
When  the boy read over the skill 'Flirting' he stopped surprised and had to read the word again to believe that it was listed as a basic skill.
'What kind of missions exactly do I have to do I wonder?'
After thinking for a few seconds more Shu Ning finally selected 'Flirting' and 'Martial Arts' and after pressing the ok button the System Space changed its interior. Now it possessed some fighting dummies, Hologramms of Humans and books with titles like 'A Humans charm points', 'How to grab a persons attention' or ' The guide to seducing your Target'.
System: "The System space is able to adjust to the Hosts needs. So Host can directly start learning his selected skills. I will pick you up again after you are finished with training. I wish you a fun time."
With those words Alpha just disappeared into thin air and left Shu Ning to himself. A mechanical voice then started to explain how the training would proceed. So the boy found out that he isn't able to stop his training until he passed the beginners stage of his selected skills and that he would be trained by the Hologramms of humans. Shu Ning hummed in acknowledgement and then turned to the Hologramms to signal them that he is ready to start the training.

When the mechanical voice finally signaled the end of the training, Shu Ning has been in the system space for 7 years already. The system greeted him enthusiastically when he came to pick him up and jumped around him while his body kept flashing. Shu Ning just glanced at this foolish system and rolled his eyes in annoyance.
Shu Ning: "Stop moving around. Lets get it on with the first missions. I was to bored lately so I need some fun right away."
System: "Yes Host. I will transport you to your first world right away."
The surrounding space started turning a blurring mess in front of Shu Nings eyes and in no time he felt himself being pulled out of the system space and into complete darkness when he lost his consciousness.
