System, are you messing with me? - Chapter 10: Chapter 10

It only took around two hours to arrive at the destination. Shu Ning thought it would take at least three hours but his personal driver, that was chosen by Sheng Su, knew the roads very well and used the shortest way and avoided every possible traffic jam.
The car finally stopped in the middle of the crowded city. It was a luxurious city through and through. The shops were as big as a normal sized house with multiple floors, adorned with golden ornaments and glowing signs. The smalest living quater of the citizens was already as big as a mansion but in comparison with all the villas and castle like buildings, such a smal 'house' looked very shabby and unworthy. On top of such a sight, the people were even worse. They wore their francy designer clothes with traces of gold and silver processed in the material, diamonds used as buttons, rubys as earrings and delicate hair ornaments that didn't pale in comparison to the rest.
Shu Ning was almost blinded by the dazzling riches of this town. No matter what he laied eyes on it was just screaming 'money'. In the end, he could only bow his head and look at his own feet to escape such a discusting sight. Having money is a good thing but showing of your wealth like this was just an insult to the eyes.
Fortunattely one of the Bodyguards next to him noticed Shu Ning's discomfort and took him to the hotel they would be staying at for the night. Shu Ning still didn't dare to lift his head in the building and only sighed in relieve once he entered the room. It was more a suite than a room but at least the decorations were kept moderat and the bed and couch looked comfortable.
Shu Ning just dropped his bag on the floor of the room before walking out again. The two Bodyguards and the driver were positioned in front of the door and naturally followed the boy without asking questions.
Pushing through the masses of people posed to be a great diffeculty but the boy still persisted in his effort to make the unwilling people budge.
After an endless struggle of him and his bodyguards they finally arrived at the steal gate to a big villa. This was the place where the male lead grew up the first few years of his life. The building was still a part of the Sheng familly but it was nevertheless abandoned once the family moved away, so Shu Ning was forbidden from staying in this dirty place to long and his brother only alowed this trip for the boy to take a look.
Shu Ning pushed open the gate and walked along the smal stone path to the front door. He told the guards to stand watch outside before he entered the house himself. The inside of the villa was full of dust and dirt and almost all the furnishings were missing.
Shu Ning didn't care about the state of the house and just walked past all the left over junk and directly entered the study. It was less a study and more an empty room with a bookshelf, a desk and a smal sofa still left over. There wasn't really anything to see here, so Shu Ning just found himself a comfortable spot on the sofa to sit on and converse with Alpha..
Shu Ning: "Is there a camera in this Villa?"
System: "Yes, of course."
Shu Ning: "Then use you hacking talent again."
System: "I'm affraid that won't do you any good. All the footage from back then have probably been erased. I'm sorry.  ( p_q) "
Shu Ning: "Can't you get them back again?"
System: "Well. That will be diffecult but maybe I can. The camera must have been connected with a computer. I can trace the connection back to its origin and search for the data there."
Shu Ning: "How long would that take?"
System: "If I had direct contact with the camera, then maybe only an hour."
Shu Ning: "Good. Then I will leave you here to do your Job and I will meet the neighbours to question them."
System: "Roger that sir. I will not dissapoint you. (* >ω<) "
Shu Ning actually didn't have any hope in obtaining any useful Information in this house because it was too old and unused, so the electronic devices were already long gone. But he still wanted to see this place at least once to understand where the male lead lived before. Sheng Su was a mystery that Shu Ning just couldn't predict, so he had the hope to get closer to that guys true heart by looking around but this villa didn't help him in the way he wanted it to.
Shu Ning didn't have anything else to do in this villa, so he met up with his guards again to try his luck in another direction.
The buildings surrounding the Sheng villa were all a bit smaler and old fashiond because the inhabitants were mostly older couples. After a certain age, the people all have the urge to settle down and live the rest of their life at the same place, so it wasn't that strange that those people still had an Impression of the Shrng familly.
With a bit of coaxing by acting childish and cute infront of them they also readily talked about the affairs back then in great detail.

After asking around for an entire afternoon, Shu Ning actually found out quite a bit of Information that he readily shared with his System as soon as they were back at the hotel.
Shu Ning: "The male and female lead really did know eachother in the past. They actually are childhood friends. From what granny told me, Fan Li lived very close to the Sheng villa and she met the young Sheng Su while playing on the playground. Those two ignored eachother at the beginning but then the girl hurt herself while running around and was bleading and crying. So, because my brother was such a sweet child, he went up to the female lead and gave her a Bandage for her wound and stopped her cying by gently coaxing her. Seems like he was a very good older brother even back then. After that encounter Sheng Su met with Fan Li more often to play together and invited her to his birthday party. That's probably the moment Fan mother and Sheng Xi also met. Those women started meeting quite freaquently as well and always brought their children with them. It sounds quite harmonious. But at some point the family of the female lead had to leave the city  though and their flourishing friendship came to an end. It was the talk of the citizens back then because Fan li made such a big fuss about it and screamed a whole night through. To coax her Sheng Su gifted her a flower and told her that he would marry her once she is old enough. Only because of that promiss did the girl leave. It should have ended here but Sheng Xi still seemed to stay in contact with Fan mother and they were heard arguing on the streets quite often. The friendship between them is quite misterious. But thanks to that information we now know that Sheng Xi is colluding with the Fan familly. She is giving them Information about family sircumstances and the spys in the company are probably her doing as well. But I don't understand what she is thinking. The only thing that woman is actually interested in, is only wealth and status. So she must be very happy that Sheng Su will take over the company in the future and I suppose choosing Fan Li as a wife for him makes sense as well because that girl is a love struck fool that is easy to manipulate. So if she were to marry the male lead, then Sheng Xi wouldn't need to worry about the girl taking away her lime light or doing something stupid. So should't she be content about her life? Why did she suddently go crazy and target Meng Yi? Meng Yi is the second born child and on top of that also illegitimate. With such a status the child isn't a threat to the woman. Even if he found out some things he shouldn't have, then why torment him like that? No one would pay attention to him anyway and the boy is so timid, that he wouldn't dare talk. So there is no danger to Sheng Xi's position at all and he also can't even fight for the position of the heir at all because he is only the second born. So why is that woman so desperate?"
System: "...That woman is really full of tricks. She would do anything for her son to take over the company. And the only reason I see for her to suddently freak out and get scared is, if suddenly the real heir to the company would stand in front of the door. That woman doesn't make any sense for me either."
Shu Ning: "?????? What did you just say? The real heir? If Meng Yi was the actual first born son and Sheng Su doesn't have any blood relationship with Sheng Rui then everything would suddenly make sense. Listen. Sheng Xi was only ordinary friends with Fan mother before because the woman was content that nothing could go wrong in establishing her son as the heir and then having so much face in the upper cicle, but then her husband suddenly brought another child back home that was his true first born son. So the woman panicked. She started abusing the child to make him more timid and incapable of managing the family business. The spys in the company were probably placed there to watch over Sheng Rui and not Sheng Su. The woman must have been warry about that guys personal affairs and management, so she let people watch over him. But Sheng Xi still couldn't sit still as long as Meng Yi was there. So she talked with Fan mother to have the female lead aproach the male lead and get closer to him for their marriage. In the original story line, Meng Yi intercepted them multiple times and it was always Sheng Xi reprimanting him and encourage Sheng Rui to think about the best for the family, making the child die outside in loneliness in the end. I bet that was all planned by the woman. That wretch inderectly killed the poor child to get rid of him. She practically tarnished his reputation by laying traps for him and with that she finally had a good enough reason to throw him out and no one could protect him anymore, so getting him addicted to drugs was an easy feat for her ."
System: " .·´¯'(>▂<)´¯'·. That poor poor baby. I hope he leads a better life now. He didn't deserve such an end. Host must make her pay."
Shu Ning: "Great that you are so enthusiastig but I wish I would be wrong. If I do get proof that Sheng Xi actually betrayed Sheng Rui and the male lead isn't his then it will be very trolblesome. I would be in the middle of a family drama. And if Sheng Xi finds out I know, then my life will be over."
System: "Then what to do? Will you make a DNA test and then show your father all the collected evidence and post it on the Internet?"
Shu Ning: "At some point I will do so but not right now. I will get my hands on the Test but my position in the hearts of Sheng Rui and Sheng Su is still to small. Maybe my father would deal with the woman after seeing the proof but his reason would be the betrayel of his wife and the male lead would deffinitely protect the Fan Family for his wife's sake. I'm not done dealing with their connection after all. For my revenge I want the two men to act to protect Meng Yi and punish everyone for his sake. So I need more time. But before all that. I need to talk with the female lead. I want to know if she knows anything about this."
System: "Oh. I understand. Then I will continue to collect evidence about her missbehaviour. （⌒▽⌒）"
Shu Ning sighed and rubbed his aching temples. There was still a long way to go before he could leave this world and the more he diggs deeper into the affairs of the world, the more he regrets actually caring about the truth.
