System, are you messing with me? - Chapter 3: Chapter 3

When Shu Ning arrived in the living room he saw a comfortable decorated room with a huge couch in the middle. In front of the couch there was a transparent coffee table with documents spread out on top. On the wall he could see a huge TV that almost covered the whole length of the wall. In Shu Nings eyes the whole room looked way to big for a living room and especially the big TV blinded his eyes.
Shu Ning curiously looked around the place he arrived at until his view fell onto the people currently occupying the couch in the center. Sheng Xi looked at Shu Ning with a frown plastered on her face. Her eyes followed his every move like a hunter waiting for the right moment to strike.
"Son. So You finally came down. Sit down, there are some things I'd like to say."
Shu Ning looked in the direction the voice came from and met eyes with a brightly smiling face. The person had short black hair and handsome manly features that made him look younger than he actually was. Shu Ning identified him as Sheng Rui and followed his gesturing hand to a space on the couch between Sheng Rui and Sheng Xi. Shu Ning could practically feel the daggers sprouting out of Sheng Xis exes.
Shu Ning hung down his head and shyly fidgeded with the hem of his T-Shirt as he quietly gazed at the documents on the table.
Meng Yi only arrived a few days prerior in this house so Shu Ning didn't know much about the Sheng family so he tried making sense of the papers on the coffee table while maintaning his shy and obedient exterior.
Shu Ning: "Alpha. Do you have any helpful functions that I can make use of?"
System: "Of course. System has a lot of very useful talents. Just tell System what to do and it will be done ✧٩(•́⌄•́๑)."
Shu Ning could see Alpha jump up and down inside of his System space as if it was waiting to be praised. Shu Ning felt helpless as he watched the so almighty system act like a little kid.
Shu Ning: "All right then Alpha. Scan the documents on the table and search for relevant information."
As Shu Ning could see it the documents were reports about the side branch of the Sheng family and information about a few people Shu Ning didn't know about. All information that could proof important for the development of his missions.
"Meng Yi. Did you get used to being in this family already?"
Sheng Rui smiled comforting to Shu Ning.
[scan completed. File is send to Host's system space]
"Hmm.... I got used to it at least a little bit."
Shu Ning smiled shyly and lifted his head a bit to look Sheng Rui in the eye. When their eyes met his cheeks turned a light shade of pink and he hurriedly lowered his head again.
"That's good to hear. I already included your name in the family register, so there shouldn't be a problem anymore. I also talked with the director of your new school. I will bring you there tomorrow for you first day in Zen Middle School."
Shu Ning hummed to indicate that he understood. Sheng Xi plastered a fake smile on her face and gave her approval to Sheng Rui.
"That's good. Then I don't have to worry that little Yi gets lost on his way to school."
Little Yi? That name coming out of that witches mouth gave Shu Ning goose bumps. His body shivered lightly in disgust.
"Yes I thought so too. I will leave for G-City right afterwards, so I won't be there for a while. Xi, please take good care of Meng Yi while I'm gone. He still needs some time to adapt, so teach him the fundamentals of the Sheng family a bit."
"I understand. I will take good care of little Yi. You don't have to worry about him so stay safe on your way."
Sheng Rui smiled thankfully to Sheng Xi and then stood up to get a servant to prepare their dinner. When Sheng Rui left the living room Sheng Xi dropped her act and leaned back on the couch.
"You are nothing but trouble you brat. Here is no place for a trash like you. I promised my husband to take care of you, so that's what I will do. Just you wait and see. You will regret ever crossing my path."
Sheng Xi looked hatefully at Shu Ning who had to hold back as to not suddenly hit her ugly visage. To keep up the act of the shy Meng Yi lowered his head even more and pitifully rubbed his eyes until they turned red and filled with tears. He nodded his head very slowly and grabbed his T-Shirt even tighter.
The woman snorted at that sight.
"Is crying all you can do? You are so useless. No wonder your mother over worked herself and then died. It's all your fault. You will one day be the death of all of us. If only you never existed it would be a better world for all of us."
It was getting harder and harder for Shu Ning to endure the witches insults. While shutting of her rambling he started imagining torturing that woman senseless in a lot of different and horrible ways. It at least calmed him down somewhat.
In the middle of his imagination he flinched when he heard a loud bang.
"I'm sorry son. Did our talk disrupt you? See what you have done little Yi?"
Only now did Shu Ning register another person in the room. The first thing he noticed where that guys sharp blue eyes that seemed to penetrate Shu Ning's body. He was a very handsome young man with a straight nose and the manly features of Sheng Rui. He wore a white T-Shirt with the first button unbuttoned so that you could see his collarbones and the begging of his refined body. The T-Shirt fell softly around his muscular body and disappeared in his black jeans that framed his slender and long legs perfectly. In his hands he held a book that he just closed and placed on the coffee table. That person was undoubtedly Sheng Su.
Sheng Xi continued to try appeasing her child while Sheng Su just ignored her and stared at Meng Yi's body. Shu Ning nervously averted his eyes and instead stared at the tip of his feet. He felt uncomfortable being watched by that pair of intense eyes.
To his luck before it got unbearable for him Sheng Rui came back to get them for dinner. Shu Ning almost jumped up and ran to the dinner table to get away but caught himself just in time. He followed the rest of the Sheng family out of the living room to a table filled with many delicacies. There was potato salad, vegetable soup, Lammkarree, steak, salad, scrambled egg, zucchini filled with mince meat and a lot of other kinds of food Shu Ning didn't recognize.
Sheng Rui seated himself at the tip of the table with his son to his left and his wife at his right side. Shu Ning stayed standing and staring at the food with longing eyes. He swallowed hi salvia and took a seat next to Sheng Xi without lifting his eyes from the food in front. Sheng Rui chuckled when he noticed Shu Ning's gaze and gestured that he can start eating. Shu Ning's cheeks turned a bit reddish and he lowered his head slightly while still looking at the food. With trembling fingers he picked up a bit of meat and started savoring the taste slowly.
Shu Ning: "Gosh Alpha. This tastes soooo delicious. I have never eaten anything this good before. Can I store food at the System Space?"
System: "I'm glad Host is having fun. Sadly the System Space can't store any food."
Shu Ning sighed and then returned to picking up some food. He wanted to try them all at least once but in the end he only managed to try half of the food on the table. The stomach of Meng Yi was just too small.

After dinner was over Shu Ning went back into his room and rubbed his full stomach while lying on the hard bed. He sleepily rubbed his eyes but forced himself to sit up to scan through the information of the documents from the table.
The Sheng family was a very big and well known family. Next to the main branch of Sheng Rui there were also three side branches. They all belonged to the same family but because of inheritance struggle they didn't have a good relationship so Sheng Rui kept an eye on them. There wasn't anything interesting for Shu Ning in the information he received until he arrived at the name Fan Li at the bottom of the text.
From the information of the System Shu Ning received Sheng Su should meet Fan Li in a few years when she transfers into his class and then they would slowly fall in love but from the information of the documents they actually already met before. When Fan Li was still a child she got lost in the middle of the town. There were a lot of people on the streets that day and because she was scared she hid in an anyway where she met some drunk punks. That's where the male lead actually first met the female lead. Sheng Su saw the situation of Fan Li and stepped in. He was followed by some burly bodyguards so the situation was handled in mere seconds and no on, except for the drunkards, got hurt. Afterwards Fan Li promised Sheng Su that she would marry him when she was older and Sheng Su actually accepted.
Shu Ning: "Alpha. How come your information didn't state anything like this at all. This is important."
System: "H-Host. Don't-Don't be angry. I really don't know how this could happen. ｡ﾟ･（>﹏<）･ﾟ｡"
Shu Ning: "Stop crying. Instead Analyse the shreds on the floor and recreate the picture for me. At least that you should be able to do, right?"
System: "Yes, Yes. I will get right to it."
After a short while a black screen appeared before Shu Ning and bit by bit the picture of a person appeared on it. It was a little girl with a pink frilly dress and long brown hair. They were loosely hanging down her back and almost reached the ground. Her arms and feet were decorated with expensive looking Rubys and Saphires that were also hung around the child's neck. The girl didn't look older than five and had an innocent smile on her face while she happily looked in the camera.
Shu Ning froze by the appearance of the little girl. The picture showed the five year old Fan Li.
Shu Ning: "Seems like your information has more holes than we thought. How did Meng Yi get his hands on the picture? So both Meng Yi and Sheng Su have already met the female lead? Seems like I have to investigate more about Fan Li. Alpha. Keep an eye on the female lead and her family and tell me if they are doing something suspicious."
System: "Yes Host."
After the glowing ball disappeared out of the System Space Shu Ning continued to sort out his thoughts and red the information from Alpha again and again but he couldn't find out any more.
Shu Ning yawned again and decided to close the black screen and go to bed. He covered his body with a thin blanket that barely reached his feet and turned of the lights. It didn't take long for The boy to fall into a deep sleep.
While Shu Ning was sleeping soundly in his bed, in the room opposite to Meng Yi's, Sheng Su was sitting upright at a table thinking about the youth with red rimmed eyes that momentarily looked cute in Sheng Su's view.
