Raj came downstairs with a victorious smirk. Everyone was present, and the atmosphere was thick with tension.
Abhimaan screamed, "You betrayed us! You sold half of the harvest to the Khan Empire even after knowing they are our enemies!"
"Relax, young man. It's just half the harvest," Raj replied calmly.
"Half the harvest is someone's blood and sweat! How can you murder someone's hard work, Raj?" Maan spat angrily.
"I'm your father. Call me Maharaj!" Raj snapped. "You're the murderer here. You killed my brother-in-law. Because of you, my sister wears white, lifeless clothes. I wish you had died that day."
SLAP.
Everyone froze. It was Dada Sa who had slapped Raj across the face.
"I am not a murderer!" Maan shouted, his voice cracking with pain.
He stormed off toward his mansion wing.
Ruhi, in tears, ran after him.
He was shaking in rage — throwing things, punching the wall until his knuckles bled.
She hugged him tightly from behind and whispered softly, "Relax... relax, Maan. Your Ruhi is here. I trust you, bacha... relax."
And just like that, he broke down in her arms.
Her shoulder became the home of his painful tears.
"Ruhi... I'm not a murderer. I'm not a criminal. Please trust me," he pleaded through sobs.
"Shh... I trust you, bacha. Come with me," she whispered, gently guiding him to the bedroom.
She removed his shirt, laid him on the bed, and placed his head on her chest, running her fingers through his hair, whispering sweet nothings in his ears.
"Maan... you're the best thing that ever happened to me. I thank that dog who broke me, because because of him, I met you. I want us to have a new start. I want us to leave everything behind. Let's go somewhere far, somewhere peaceful."
Maan lifted his head, looked into her eyes, and kissed her lips softly.
Then he laid back on her chest again and whispered, "Ruhi, you are my home. In this whole world, it's only you. This chest... it's my pillow. The only one that wipes my tears."
The Next Morning
It was breakfast time. The air was unusually silent.
Maan spoke calmly, "Dada Sa, I've decided. I'm shifting somewhere else... with Ruhi."
Dada Sa smiled warmly. "No problem, my son. It's your life. Your choice."
But his father interrupted bitterly.
"Don't you have responsibilities?"
Maan turned to him, expression cold.
"Who said I'm running from them, Mr. Rajvansh? Don't speak in my matters."
He turned to Ruhi.
"Finish your breakfast and come to our room. We have packing to do."
He left.
"You!" his mother hissed at Ruhi. "What have you done to my son? You've brainwashed him!"
Ruhi smiled faintly. "Huh. Your son? Really, Mrs. Rajvansh?"
They left the Rajvansh mansion that evening. The only one who blessed them was Dada Sa. But both Maan and Ruhi were excited — ready to begin a new chapter.
Ruhi was clueless where they were heading. Maan had kept it a secret all along.
"Maan! Tell me na, where are we going?" she asked with an adorable frown.
He laughed, eyes twinkling. "It's a secret, my Ruhi."
He blindfolded her as they neared the location. When he finally removed it, her eyes filled with tears.
It was Shimla — her dream destination.
"Thank you, Maan," she whispered, hugging him tightly.
He smiled.
"Welcome to our honeymoon, my Rooh."
The apartment was a beautiful 2BHK, decorated just how Ruhi always dreamed. They were to stay there for a month — and Maan made sure every corner held something that made her smile.
Snow fell gently outside. Inside, Maan watched his Ruhi glow with joy — and that alone, was enough.
"Ruhi, come. Let's have dinner. The night is long ahead," he said in a husky voice.
She blushed and nodded.
He made her sit on his lap and gently fed her, one bite after another. She shyly fed him back.
When they were done, he lifted her in his arms — bridal style — and walked to the bedroom.
The room was breathtaking. Roses. Fairy lights. Everything soaked in romance.
"Do you like it?" he asked softly.
She nodded, unable to speak.
He leaned close and whispered, "Are you ready for a long night, my Ruhi?"
She just closed her eyes tightly, her cheeks blooming red.
