"Do you know that Colin only left you because someone orchestrated the whole thing? Someone wanted to steal both Colin's and your place. So they set a trap, making sure Colin would catch you red-handed.
"And all those rumors about you sleeping with professors for favors were all spread by that same person." Ella leaned in close to Jane's ear, her voice thick with schadenfreude as she gloated.
"That woman came to me and asked me to team up with her to take you down. To tell you the truth, that juice I gave you that day was spiked."
"Wh...what..." Jane trembled violently, each word a struggle as she gasped for air. For the first time, Jane realized that everything that happened that day wasn't an accident at all—it had all been planned.
Jane had always believed that she simply had a bad cold that day, felt dizzy, and passed out in the professor's lounge—which was why Colin misunderstood her. But it turned out it was never a misunderstanding at all.
Waves of dizziness crashed over Jane—one half of her body scorched by unbearable heat, the other wracked with searing pain.
But none of this physical agony could compare to the searing pain Ella's words inflicted on Jane's heart. Jane desperately tried to push herself up, burning to tear Ella's smug face to shreds.
But instead, she collapsed weakly onto the cold floor, barely clinging to life. There was nothing she could do.
Ella shook her head in mock sympathy and sighed, "Oh Jane, you're just so pathetic, aren't you?"
"You were pure, never did anything wrong, yet you still became the dirtiest girl around. Oh, and... you still don't know what really happened that night at Night Charm Club, do you? You slept with a man there.
"Since you were a virgin when you were with Colin, that night must have been your first time. Jane, wouldn't you like to know who that man really was? The one who took your virginity?" A sick, twisted gleam flashed in Ella's eyes.
Ella knew full well that Jane, though bleeding heavily, wasn't dead yet. She shouldn't have said those things to her—but she just couldn't help herself.
She was pathologically twisted—she craved nothing more than to see Jane utterly devastated after learning the truth, drowning in regret and agony, yet completely powerless to change anything.
For years, she had been forced to grovel at the feet of Jane. All her life, she had been the one consumed with bitter envy for Jane.
Now that she finally had the chance to drag Jane off her pedestal, Ella was determined to savor every moment—relishing the sight of Jane's hollow-eyed despair and agonized suffering.
From this day on, Jane's reputation would be utterly destroyed—there would be no coming back for her. No matter what Jane said—even if every word was true—no one would believe her.
Even if Luke eventually learned the truth, Jane would already be nothing but a used-up woman—her reputation ruined beyond redemption.
When the video got posted online, everyone would finally see just how wild and promiscuous Jane was in private. Even if Luke didn't mind her ruined reputation, the Drake family would never accept Jane.
So even if Luke eventually discovers that the woman at Night Charm Club that night was Jane, he still wouldn't be able to have her.
Jane's voice trembled. "You... you mean you actually know who that man was—the one from that night at Night Charm Club?" Jane weakly lifted her gaze, her dazed eyes fixed on Ella's looming, twisted face.
It came back to her that she still hadn't found that man from that night at Night Charm Club. That man—the one who promised her everything. She did everything he asked, but he broke his promise.
"Of course I know. So tell me, Jane, do you really want to know?
"Oh, but what's the point? In a minute, you'll be passed around by all those men. By the time they're done with you, you'll be so filthy that knowing the truth won't matter anymore, will it?" Ella sneered, her voice dripping with malice.
Ella leaned in even closer, her voice dripping with venom as she hissed in Jane's ear. "Don't look at me like that. It's your own fault for being so blind. The man you were looking for was standing right before your eyes this whole time."
