Ella was about to happily chase after him when she suddenly noticed that Luke seemed to be holding a woman in his arms.
Ella's face instantly changed, and she quickly hid behind a decorative plant in the corridor. 'Which little vixen dared to seduce her man,' she wondered.
Just then, the elevator arrived. Ella watched with her own eyes as Luke carried the woman in his arms into the elevator in a princess hold. Unfortunately, from her angle, she could only see Luke's back and couldn't make out what the woman looked like.
However, at that moment, Luke turned around. Finally, Ella could get a good look at the woman's face. The woman's hair curled around Luke's arm, and her tiny, heart-shaped face was half-covered by his suit jacket.
Ella couldn't miss Jane's flushed eyes, kiss-swollen lips, and that sexy, post-passion glow. It was clear what had just happened.
'It's Jane,' Ella's mind screamed. She barely caught a glimpse before the elevator doors closed in her face. But Ella couldn't possibly be mistaken. Even if Jane were burned to ashes, Ella would still recognize her.
Overwhelming jealousy surged through Ella, and she nearly lunged forward to claw Jane's face apart. Yet in a flash, an even greater terror engulfed her.
Ella's mind screamed in panic. 'How the hell does Jane know Luke? Just how long have they known each other? Have they been together all this time?"
Luke might already know that she wasn't the woman from that night. She was deliberately impersonating Jane. A wave of cold fear washed over Ella, and she fell to the ground, too terrified to even get up.
Terrifying tales of Luke's merciless methods circulate through every corner of Jovinia. Rumor has it that those who crossed Luke in Jovinia just vanished. They were never seen again.
If Luke found out she was a fraud, she would be finished. Without even saying goodbye to Yvonne, Ella scrambled down the stairs, practically wetting herself in her panic. She hailed a cab and rushed back to the Judd residence.
Meanwhile, at the Judd residence, Lily was in the living room, gloating as she admired the table heaped with designer handbags and sparkling jewelry. She gleefully tries on the diamond necklace, then immediately switches to the pearl bracelet, unable to contain her excitement.
Lily couldn't resist pulling out all the Hermès handbags piled on the sofa. She lined them up, styled each with a silk scarf, and snapped photos to show off on social media.
As soon as she posted the photos, her wealthy old friends showered her with likes and comments. They used to flaunt their money, but now they groveled for her attention. Lily felt incredibly satisfied.
'I always knew Ella would make it big,' Lily thought smugly.
Ever since Ella landed herself a big fish like Luke, she's been holding her head high among friends. The Judd family had also basked in the reflected glory. Every inch of their home, from floor to ceiling, had been completely transformed.
Anything she disliked, furniture she found shabby or old appliances, could be replaced by simply telling Luke's assistant, Harvey. The next day, someone would deliver the world's most luxurious and expensive brands.
Whenever Ella mentioned needing new jewelry or designer bags, Harvey would promptly deliver the latest luxury items. Such a life was beyond anything Lily had ever dreamed of. Even when Jane was the daughter of the Ritter family, she never lived such a luxurious life.
"Mom, it's over. I'm totally screwed. He knows everything. Pack our things. Book the first flight out. We need to flee the country now," Ella cried out, her voice trembling with panic.
Just as Lily was about to post a few more bragging photos on social media, Ella's panicked voice suddenly rang out from the doorway. Then she saw Ella stumble into the room in complete disarray.
Lily exclaimed, "Ella. Why are you back already? Didn't Luke take you to the party? I told you to seize the chance and lock him down. The sun hasn't even set yet. Why are you home so early?"
Lily frowned in disapproval at her panicked daughter, clearly unimpressed by Ella's frantic state. Lily was about to say more, but Ella's whole body was shaking violently, suddenly seized her hand in a panic.
"Mom, stop trying to lock him down. The jig is up. Luke knows it was Jane that night, not me! If we don't leave now, we're finished."
