"Mr. Drake agreed," Ella said with an impatient pout. "He said you can go straight there—he'll put in a word for you."

Johnson rubbed his hands excitedly, as if he could already see his company going public, himself becoming the CEO of a listed company, and reaching the pinnacle of success.
"Honey, you're way too easily pleased—just look at how happy you get over such a small gain," Lily teased, a smug smile on her face.
"Our Ella is about to be welcomed into the Drake family by Mr. Drake himself. Once she marries Luke, we will benefit even more. Now you finally see how capable your daughter is, don't you?"
"Mr. Drake doesn't even want to see me right now. He's probably off hanging out with that bitch Jane," Ella complained bitterly from the side.
"You didn't hear how impatient Mr. Drake was with me on the phone just now, did you? No doubt that bitch Jane has been badmouthing me to him, ruining my image in his eyes."
"She wouldn't dare," Lily sneered venomously. "Hmph, I told you that little tramp couldn't stay. Johnson, you heard how your precious niece treated our Ella. I don't care—I'm going through with my plan, and this time, you'd better not stop me."

Lily sneered, "Fine then. Since you're so concerned about Jane, let's go tell Mr. Drake the woman who spent the night with him wasn't our Ella, but Jane. He should take responsibility and marry her instead. Then we can say goodbye to any business deals."
"No, no, no, we can't say that." Johnson immediately caved in without thinking. He closed his eyes, finally making up his mind. "Alright, alright. If you want to go after Jane, then do it. I won't get involved anymore. Just don't tell me about it."
Soon enough, the weekend rolled around. That morning, Jane received a call from Hayden reminding her that Dwight would be discharged from the hospital at 4 p.m. She needed to arrive early and, together with Luke, put on a loving couple act.
